# Last Day of Zilqaad

- Instruction: According to the well-known historical account, in 220 AH, on the last day of the month of Ziqaadah, Imam Muhammad at-Taqi (a.s) was martyred in the city of Baghdad through the poison administered by the Abbasid ruler Mu’tasim. This incident took place approximately two and a half years after the death of Ma’moon. As the Imam (a.s) himself used to say: “After thirty months, relief and ease will come.” These words indicate that Ma’moon’s treatment of the Imam (a.s) was extremely harsh, causing him great pain and suffering. The Imam’s description of his death as relief and ease shows the severity of the oppression he endured just as his noble father, Imam Ali ar-Reza (a.s), had similarly described the crown-prince arrangement (Wilaayat’e Ahdi) as such. Every Friday, when the Imam (a.s) would return from the central mosque, covered in sweat and dust, he would raise his hands towards the Divine Court and pray: “O my Master! If my relief and comfort lie in my death, then hasten my death in this very moment!” Thus, his days passed in sorrow and grief until finally he departed from this world. At the time of his martyrdom, Imam Muhammad at-Taqi (a.s) was 25 years old, plus a few months. His blessed shrine is located in Kazmain, beside the resting place of his revered grandfather, Imam Musa al-Kazim (a.s).
- Instruction (Urdu): بنابرِ مشہور، ۲۲۰ھ میں ذیقعد کے آخری دن امام محمد تقیؑ مُعتصم کے دیئے ہوئے زہر سے شہرِ بغداد میں شہید ہوئے۔ یہ واقعہ مامون کی موت سے تقریباً ڈھائی سال بعد پیش آیا، جیسا کہ حضرتؑ خود فرمایا کرتے تھے: "تیس ماہ کے بعد کشائش و آسائش ہوگی۔" آپ کے یہ کلمات اس بات پر دلالت کرتے ہیں کہ مامون کا برتاؤ آپ کے ساتھ نہایت بُرا تھا اور اس کی طرف سے آپ کو حد درجہ اذیت اور صدمہ پہنچایا گیا۔ کیونکہ آپ اپنی موت کو کشائش و آسائش سے تعبیر فرماتے تھے بالکل ویسے ہی جیسے آپ کے والدِ ماجد امام علی رضاؑ نے ولایتِ عہدی کو اسی تعبیر سے بیان فرمایا تھا۔ چنانچہ ہر جمعہ کو جب آپ جامع مسجد سے واپس تشریف لاتے تو پسینے اور غبار آلود حالت میں اپنے ہاتھ بارگاہِ الٰہی میں بلند کرکے یہ دعا فرماتے: "اے میرے مالک! اگر میری کشائش اور راحت میری موت میں ہے تو اس گھڑی میری موت میں تعجیل فرما!" پس اسی غم و اندوہ میں آپ کا وقت گزرتا رہا، یہاں تک کہ آپ نے اس دنیا سے رحلت فرمائی۔ جب امام محمد تقیؑ کی شہادت ہوئی تو آپ کی عمر ۲۵ سال اور چند مہینے تھی۔ آپ کی قبرِ مبارک کاظمین میں اپنے جدِّ بزرگوار امام موسیٰ کاظمؑ کے سرہانے کی طرف واقع ہے۔
