# Allahummar Zuqni at-Tajafi — detachment from dunya

## About this text

A short supplication about detachment — “Allahumma arzuqni at-tajafi”.

It asks for three things in one breath: the sentiment to turn away from the attractions of this world, an inclination towards the everlasting abode, and preparation for the last journey before death arrives. The order matters — the readiness is asked for while there is still time to have it.

It closes with salawat upon Muhammad and his progeny.

## Text

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰہُمَّ ارْزُقْنِیْ التَّجَافِیْ عَنْ دَارِالْغُرُوْرِ وَالْاِنَابَۃِ اِلٰی دَارِ الْخُلُوْدِ وَالْاِسْتِعْدَادِ لِلْمَوْتِ قَبْلَ حُلُوْلِ الْفَوْتِ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAAHUM-MAR ZUQ-NIT TAJAA-FEE A’N DAARIL GHO-ROORE WAL ENAA-BATE ELAA DAARIL KHOLOO-DE WAL ISTE’DAADE LIL-MAWTE QABLA HOLOO-LIL FAWTE.
- English: O Allah, give me the sentiment to ignore the worldly attractions and make me inclined to the permanent abode and prepare me for the last journey before the arrival of death.
- Urdu: اے معبود! مجھے فریب کے گھر سے دوری اختیار کرنا، ہمیشہ کے اپنے محل سکونت کی طرف لوٹ کے جانااور موت کے آنے سے پہلے موت کے لئے تیار ہونا نصیب فرما۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAHUMMA SWALLE ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA AALE MUHAMMADIN
- English: Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
- Urdu: اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
