The reciter calls upon Allah and then names Him at length -- the compassionate, the sovereign, the holy, the flawless, the guardian, the first and the last, the manifest and the hidden, the loving, the witness, the concealer of faults, the wise, the protector, the creator, the sustainer, the all-hearing and the all-seeing, and the acceptor of supplications. ## Text ### His prayers mentioning the Names of Allah - Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ - Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM - English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful. - Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ اللهُ وَاَنْتَ الرَّحْمٰنُ وَاَنْتَ الرَّحِيْمُ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوْسُ السَّلَامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيْزُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ الْاَوَّلُ الْآخِرُ الظَّاهِرُ الْبَاطِنُ الْحَمِيْدُ الْمَجِيْدُ الْمُبْدِىُٔ الْمُعِيْدُ الْوَدُوْدُ الشَّهِيْدُ الْقَدِيْمُ الْعَلِيُّ الصَّادِقُ الرَّؤُوْفُ الرَّحِيْمُ الشَّكُوْرُ الْغَفُوْرُ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ ذُوا الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِيْنِ الرَّقِيْبُ الْحَفِيْظُ ذُوا الْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ الْعَظِيْمُ الْغَنِيُّ الْوَلِيُّ الْفَتَّاحُ الْمُرْتاحُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ الْعَدْلُ الْوَفِيُّ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِيْنُ الْخَلَّاقُ الرَّزَّاقُ الْوَهَّابُ التَّوَّابُ الرَّبُ الْوَكِيْلُ اللَّطِيْفُ الْخَبِيْرُ۔ - Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA ANTA ALLAAHU WAANTA AR-RAHMAANU WAANTA AR-RAHEEMU AL-MALIKU AL-QUDDOOSU AS-SALAAMU AL-MU'MINU AL-MUHAYMINU AL-'AZEEZU AL-JABBAARU AL-MUTAKABBIRU AL-AWWALU AL-AAKHIRU AZ-ZAAHIRU AL-BAATINU AL-HAMEEDU AL-MAJEEDU AL-MUBDIY AL-MU'EEDU AL-WADOODU ASH-SHAHEEDU AL-QADEEMU AL-'ALIYYU AS-SAADIQU AR-RA'OOFU AR-RAHEEMU ASH-SHAKOORU AL-GHAFOORU AL-'AZEEZU AL-HAKEEMU ZOO AL-QUWWATI AL-MATEENI AR-RAQEEBU AL-HAFEEZU ZOO AL-JALAALI WAL-IKRAAMI AL-'AZEEMU AL-GHANIYYU AL-WALIYYU AL-FATTAAHU AL-MURTHU AL-QAABIDU AL-BAASITU AL-'ADLU AL-WAFIYYU AL-HAQQU AL-MUBEENU AL-KHALLAAQU AR-RAZZAAQU AL-WAHHAABU AT-TAWWAABU AR-RABU AL-WAKEELU AL-LATEEFU AL-KHABEERU. - English: O Allah You are Allah You are merciful. (These are Your names) You are the compassionate, the sovereign, the holy, the flawless, the giver of faith, the guardian, the incomparable, the compeller, the proud, the first, the last, the manifest, the hidden, the praised, the glorious, the beginner, the restorer, the loving, the witness, the ancient, the highest, the truthful, the element, the compassionate, the rewarder of thankfulness, the concealer of faults, the incomparable, the wise, Lord of power, the firm, the vigilant, the protector, Lord of power, the firm, the vigilant, the protector, Lord of majesty and generosity the magnificent, the rich, the governor, the victorious, the dispeller of problems, the giver of peace, the restrainer and bestower of sustanence, just by the truth firm on the covenant the clear truth, the creator, the sustainer, the bestower, the Lord, the trustee, the subtle, the aware, the all-hearing, the all-seeing, the rewarder of deeds, the exalted, the real, the acceptor of supplications, the one to send the Prophets, the true master, wwner of the amptitude and continuance. - Urdu: خدا وندا! تو ہی اللہ ہے، تو ہی مہربان اورتو ہی رحم کرنے والا ہے، تیرے یہ نام ہیں، بادشاہ، پاکیزہ، عین سلامتی، محفوط، نگران عالم، مالک عزّت، توانا، صاحبِ اقتدار، سرفراز، اوّل، آخر، ظاہر، باطن، قابل حمد، قابل تعریف، آغاز کرنے والا، دوبارہ لانے والا، محبّت کرنے والا، گواہ، ازلی، بلند، سچا، مہربان، صاحبِ رحم، قدر دان، بہت بخشنے والا، بڑی قدرت و حکمت رکھنے والا، مضبوط طاقت کا مالک، نگہبان و محافظ، صاحبِ جلال و احسان، عظیم و غنی، حاکم اور مشکلات حل کرنے والا، راحت رساں، روزی روکنے اور عطا کرنے والا، عادل برحق، وعدہ وفا، حق واضح کرنے والا، خالق و رازق، بہت بڑا عطا کرنے والا، بہت زیادہ توبہ قبول کرنے والا، پرورش کرنے والا، کفیل، عالم، لطیف و خبیر۔ - Arabic: اَلسَّمِيْعُ الْبَصِيْرُ الدَّيَّانُ الْمُتَعَالِ الْقَرِيْبُ الْمُجِيْبُ الْبَاعِثُ الْوَارِثُ الْوَاسِعُ الْبَاقِي الْحَيُّ الدَّاۗئِمُ الَّذِيْ لَا يَمُوْتُ الْقَيُّوْمُ النُّوْرُ الْغَفَّارُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ الْاَحَدُ الصَّمَدُ الَّذِيْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهٗ كُفُوًا اَحَدٌ ذُو الطَّوْلِ الْمُقْتَدِرُ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوْبِ الْبَدِىُّ الْبَدِيْعُ الدَّاعِيُ الظَّاهِرُ الْمُقِيْتُ الْمُغِيْثُ الدَّافِعُ الرَّافِعُ الضَّارُّ النَّافِعُ الْمُعِزُّ الْمُذِلُّ الْمُطْعِمُ الْمُنْعِمُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْمُكْرِمُ الْمُحْسِنُ الْمُجْمِلُ الْحَنَّانُ الْمُفْضِلُ الْمُحْيِ الْمُمِيْتُ الْفَعَّالُ لِّمَا يُرِيْدُ مَالِكُ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاۗءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَاۗئُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَاۗءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَاۗءُ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ۔ - Transliteration: AS-SAMEE'U AL-BASEERU AD-DAYYAANU AL-MUTA'AALI AL-QAREEBU AL-MUJEEBU AL-BAA'ITHU AL-WAARITHU AL-WAASI'U AL-BAAQEE AL-HAYYU AD-DAA'IMU ALLAZEE LAA YAMOOTU AL-QAYYOOMU AN-NOORU AL-GHAFFAARU AL-WAAHIDU AL-QAHHAARU AL-AHADU AS-SAMADU ALLAZEE LAM YALID WALAM YOOLAD WALAM YAKUN LAHOO KUFUWAN AHADUN ZOO AT-TAWLI AL-MUQTADIRU 'ALLAAMU AL-GHUYOOBI AL-BADIYYU AL-BADEE'U AD-DAA'IYU AZ-ZAAHIRU AL-MUQEETU AL-MUGHEETHU AD-DAAFI'U AR-RAAFI'U AD-DAARRU AN-NAAFI'U AL-MU'IZZU AL-MUZILLU AL-MUT'IMU AL-MUN'IMU AL-MUHAYMINU AL-MUKRIMU AL-MUHSINU AL-MUJMILU AL-HANNAANU AL-MUFDILU AL-MUHYI AL-MUMEETU AL-FA''AALU LIMAA YUREEDU MAALIKU AL-MULKI TU'TEE AL-MULKA MAN TASHAA'U WATANZI'U AL-MULKA MIMMAN TASHAA'U WATU'IZZU MAN TASHAA'U WATUZILLU MAN TASHAA'U BIYADIKA AL-KHAYRU INNAKA 'ALAA KULLI SHAY'IN QADEERUN. - English: Alive and without decline who has no death, the self-existing, the light, the forgiver, the unique, the vanquisher, the one, the eternal, the one who neither begetten, nor is He begotten, and there is none like unto Him. Possessor of rewards, aware of the unseen powers, the first one to create (the world), unparallel inventor, holder of the convocation visible and sustainer, one who redresses the grievances, wards the calamities and raises the position. One who has control over the loses and gains. One who has the power to honour and degrade and oblige one to bestow the right sustainance, the rewarder, the protector. The one to honour and oblige. The doer of good, the rewarder, the possessor of grace, the bestower of life and death, The one to do what He wishes, master of the kingdom. - Urdu: سمیع و بصیر، عمل کا صلہ دینے والا، سر بلند و قریب، دعاؤں کو قبول کرنے اور رسولوں کو بھیجنے والا، مالک حقیقی، صاحبِ وسعت و بقا ہے، زندہ و لا زوال ہے جسے موت نہیں، قیوم، نور، غفّار، واحد، قہار، یکتا و بے نیاز، نہ وہ کسی سے بیدا ہوا نہ کوئی اس کا فرزند ہے، نہ کوئی اس کا ہمسر، وہ صاحبِ انعام، با اقتدار غیب سے باخبر، سب سے پہلے (دنیا کو) پیدا کرنے والا، بے مثال موجد، صاحبِ دعوت، ظاہر و روزی رساں، فریاد رس، تکلیفیں دور اور درجے بلند کرنے والا، نقصان رسانی و نفع بخشی پر قادر، عزّت و ذلّت دینے کی قوت رکھنے والا، نانِ شبینہ عطا کرنے والا، انعام دینے والا، محافظ، عزّت دینے اور احسان کرنے والا، نیکی کرنے والا، محبّت کرنے والا، فضل کرنے والا، زندگی بخش و فنا ساز، جو چاہے وہ کرنے والا، مالک ملک، تو جسے چاہتاہےملک عطا فرمائے، جس سے چاہے ملک چھین لے، جسے چاہے عزّت دے، جسے چاہے ذلّت، خوبیاں تیرے قبضے میں ہیں، تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔ - Arabic: تُوْلِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَتُوْلِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَتُخِرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَاۗءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ۔ فَالِقُ الْاِصْبَاحِ وَفَالِقُ الْحَبِّ وَالنَّوٰى يُسَبِّحُ لَهٗ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ۔ اَللّٰهُمَّ وَمَا قُلْتُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ اَوْ حَلَفْتُ مِنْ حَلْفٍ اَوْ نَذَرْتُ مِنْ نَذَرٍ فِيْ يَوْمِيْ هٰذَا وَلَيْلَتِيْ هٰذِهٖ فَمَشِيَّتُكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ ذٰلِكَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْهُ كَانَ وَلَمْ تَشَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فَادْفَعْ عَنِّيْ بِحَوْلِكَ وَقُوَّتِكَ فَاِنَّهٗ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْمِ۔ - Transliteration: TOOLIJU AL-LAYLA FEE AN-NAHAARI WATOOLIJU AN-NAHAARA FEE AL-LAYLI WATUKHIRIJU AL-HAYYA MINA AL-MAYYITI WATUKHRIJU AL-MAYYITA MINA AL-HAYYI WATARZUQU MAN TASHAA'U BIGHAYRI HISAABIN. FAALIQU AL-ISBAAHI WAFAALIQU AL-HABBI WAN-NAWAA YUSABBIHU LAHOO MAA FEE AS-SAMAAWAATI WAL-ARDI WAHUWA AL-'AZEEZU AL-HAKEEMU. ALLAAHUMMA WAMAA QULTU MIN QAWLIN AW HALAFTU MIN HALFIN AW NAZARTU MIN NAZARIN FEE YAWMEE HAAZAA WALAYLATEE HAAZIHEE FAMASHIYYATUKA BAYNA YADAY ZAALIKA MAA SHI'TA MINHU KAANA WALAM TASHAA LAM YAKUN FADFA' 'ANNEE BIHAWLIKA WAQUWWATIKA FAINNAHOO LAA HAWLA WALAA QUWWATA ILLAA BILLAAHI AL-'ALIYYI AL-'AZEEMI. - English: You give the kingdom to whomsoever You like and take away the kingdom from whomsoever You like. You exalt whomsoever You like and degrade whomsoever You like, in Your hands is all good. Surely You have power over all things. You cause the night to pass into the day and You cause the day to pass into the night, You bring forth the living out of the dead, and you bring forth the dead out of the living, and You give sustenance to whomsoever You like without measure (3:25-26). The One to break the dawn, the One to break upon the reed. Whatever is in the Heavens and the Earth glorified You. You are incomparable, the wise. O my Lord! Whatever I have spoken and whatever paths I have taken in this day and night I intend to have your will in it, so that whatever You wish may materialize and whatever You do not wish may not materialize. Award these calamities away from me by Your power as there is no might or power which is above Your power. - Urdu: رات کو دن اور دن کو رات سے بڑھاتا ہے، مردے سے زندہ اور زندے سے مردہ پیدا کرتا ہے، جسے چاہتا ہے بےحساب روزی عطا فرماتا ہے۔ نقابِ صبح چاک کرنے اور گٹھلیوں اور بیجوں کو شگاف دینے والا ہے، اس کے لئے آسمانوں اور زمینوں میں جو کچھ ہے وہ تسبیح کرتے ہے، وہ عذیز و حکیم ہے۔ بارالٰہا! میں نے جو بات بھی کہی ہو اور آج دن و رات میں جو بھی قسم کھاؤں، یا کوئی نذر بھی کروں، اس میں تیری مشیّت کو پیش نظر رکھنا چاہتا ہوں، تا کہ جو تیری مرضی ہو وہ ہو، جو نہ چاہے وہ نہ ہو۔ ان بلاؤں کو مجھ سے دور فرما صرف اپنی قوت و طاقت سے، کیونکہ کوئی طاقت و قوت، بزرگ و برتر اللہ کے علاوہ موجود ہی نہیں۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ بَحَقِّ هٰذِهِ الْاَسْمَاۗءِ عِنْدَكَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاغْفِرْ لِيْ وَارْحَمْنِيْ وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ وَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّيْ وَاصْلِحْ لِيْ شَانِيْ وَيَسِّرْ اُمُوْرِيْ وَوَسِّعْ عَلَيَّ فِيْ رِزْقِيْ وَاَغْنِنِيْ بِكَرَمِ وَجْهِكَ عَنْ جَمِيْعِ خَلْقِكَ وَصُنْ وَجْهِيْ وَيَدِيْ وَلِسَانِيْ عَنْ مَسْئَلَةِ غَيْرِكَ وَاجْعَلْ لِيْ مِنْ اَمْرِيْ فَرَجًا وَمَخْرَجًا فَاِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ وَلَا اَعْلَمُ وَتَقْدِرُ وَلَا اَقْدِرُ وَاَنْتَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلٰى سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدِ النَّبِيِّ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ۔ - Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA BAHAQQI HAAZIHI AL-ASMAA'I 'INDAKA SALLI 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WAAALI MUHAMMADIN WAGHFIR LEE WARHAMNEE WATUB 'ALAYYA WATAQABBAL MINNEE WASLIH LEE SHAANEE WAYASSIR UMOOREE WAWASSI' 'ALAYYA FEE RIZQEE WAAGHNINEE BIKARAMI WAJHIKA 'AN JAMEE'I KHALQIKA WASUN WAJHEE WAYADEE WALISAANEE 'AN MAS'ALATI GHAYRIKA WAJ'AL LEE MIN AMREE FARAJAN WAMAKHRAJAN FAINNAKA TA'LAMU WALAA A'LAMU WATAQDIRU WALAA AQDIRU WAANTA 'ALAA KULLI SHAY'IN QADEERUN BIRAHMATIKA YAA ARHAMA AR-RAAHIMEENA WASALLAA ALLAAHU 'ALAA SAYYIDI AL-MURSALEENA SAYYIDINAA MUHAMMADI AN-NABIYYI WAAALIHI AT-TAAHIREENA. - English: O Allah! By these names which is acceptable to You send blessings on Mohammad (s.a.w.a) and his Progeny (a.s) and forgive me, have mercy on me, accept my repentance and my deeds, improve my condition, ease for me my transactions and increase my sustenance. By Your independence existence make me free of wants from this world, save my face, hands, tongue and chastity so that I do not ask from anyone other than You. Make ways in my dealings and make the ways vast, as you are the knower and I am ignorant, You are possessor of power and I am feeble/weak and You have power over all things. By Your mercy O most merciful of all the mercifuls and send blessings on the leader of all the prophets Mohammad (s.a.w.a) the messenger and his progeny (a.s) the pure. - Urdu: خداوندا! ان ناموں کے اس حق کا صدقہ جسے تو جانتا ہے، محمدؐ اور آل محمدؑ پر رحم فرما اور مجھے بخش دے، مجھ پر رحم فرما، میری توبہ قبول فرما، (میرا عمل حقیر) قبول کر، میری حالت بہتر فرما، میرے معاملات آسان، اور میری روزی وسیع فرما۔ اپنی ذاتِ بے نیاز کا واسطہ مجھے ساری دنیا سے بے نیاز کر دے۔ میرے چہرے، ہاتھ، زبان اور آبرو بچا، کہ میں تیرے علاوہ کسی اور سے سوال نہ کروں، میرے معاملات میں راہیں اور راہوں میں وسعتیں عطا فرما، کیونکہ تو ہی عالم ہے اور میں جاہل، تو قادر ہے اور میں ناتواں، اور تو ہی ہر چیز پر دست رسی رکھتا ہے۔ تجھے اپنی رحمت کا واسطہ، اے الرحم الرٰحمین، یا اللہ رسولوں کے سردار اور ہمارے آقائے نامدار نبی محمدؐ اور انکی پاک و طاہر اولاد پر رحمت نازل فرما۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔ - Transliteration: ALLAHUMMA SWALLE ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA AALE MUHAMMADIN - English: Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny. - Urdu: اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔ --- Published by Fatima Zahra Imamia Centre, North Ipswich QLD, https://fzic.org.
