# Cleansing the Teeth

- Instruction: If you then intend to perform the ritual ablution (wudu), you may before that begin with brushing the teeth with the miswak (a stick used for cleansing the teeth), because it cleanse the mouth, removes phlegm, strengthens the memory, increases the good deeds, and pleases the Exalted Lord. A 2 unit prayer that is preceded by cleansing the teeth is more favorable than 70 unit prayer without it. If a miswak is not available, it is acceptably sufficient to use one’s finger (for cleansing the teeth).
- Instruction (Urdu): جب وضو کا ارادہ کرے تو پہلے مسواک کرے کہ اس سے منہ پاکیزہ اور خوشبودار ہو جاتا ہے ،بلغم خارج ہو جاتا ہے قوتِ حافظہ میں  اضافہ ہوتا ہے نیکیاں بڑھ جاتی ہیں اور حق تعالیٰ کی خوشنودی حاصل ہوتی ہے مسواک کے ساتھ ادا کی جانے والی ۲ رکعتیں مسواک کے بغیر پڑھی جانے والی ۷۰ رکعتوں سے افضل ہیں اگر مسواک نہ مل سکے تو دانتوں کو انگلی سے صاف کرنا بھی کافی ہے۔
