# Dua for Pardoning of Sin

- Instruction: In his book of Majalis, Mufid has reported the following narration from Muhammad ibn Hanafiyyah (Imam Ali’s son): While the Commander of the Faithful (a) was circumambulating the Holy House (Ka’bah), he saw a man handing to the curtains of the Ka’bah and praying Almighty Allah with the coming supplication. “Has this supplication been composed by you?” Imam Ali asked. “Have you heard it before?” The man replied with a question. Imam Ali (a) answered, “Yes, I have.” The man instructed, “You may then say it after each prayer. I swear by Allah, any believing individual who supplicates Almighty Allah with this supplication after the prayers will most certainly be forgiven by Almighty Allah, even if his sins have been as many as the stars in the sky, the drops coming down from the sky, the pebbles, and the stones of the earth.” Imam Ali (a) clarified, “I have full knowledge of that. Allah is Ample-giving and Knowing.” The man, who was Khizr, commented, “You, O Commander of the Faithful, have said the truth. I swear it by Allah. Verily, above everyone possessed of knowledge, there is a more knowledgeable one.” Al-Kaf’ami has also reported the supplication in his book of Balad Amin. The supplication is the following…
- Instruction (Urdu): شيخ مفيدؒ نے کتاب مجالس میں جناب محمد بن حنفيہ سے روايت کی ہے کہ انہوں نے فرمايا:ايک دن ميرے والد گرامی امير المومنيؑن خانہ کعبہ کا طواف کر رہے تھے کہ اچانک ايک شخص کو ديکھا کہ جو غلاف کعبہ کو پکڑ کر يہ دُعا پڑھ رہا تھا۔ امير المومنيؑن نے اس سے پوچھا: يہی تمہاری دعا تھی اس نے کہا : جی ہاں ! کيا وه دُعا آپؑ نے سُن لی ہے ؟آپؑ نے فرمايا :ہاں! اس نے کہا اس دعا کو ہر نماز کے بعد پڑھا کريں ، قسم بخدا کہ جو بھی مومن نماز کے بعد يہ دُعا پڑھے گا ، الله تعالیٰ اس کے تمام گناه بخش دے گا خواه وه تعداد میں آسمان کے ستاروں ، بارش کے قطروں، ريت کے ذرّوں اور غبار خاک کے مانند ہی کيوں نہ ہوں حضرت امير المومنيؑن نے فرمايا: ميں اس دعا کو جانتا ہوں، يقيناً حق تعالیٰ کی بخشش بڑی وسيع ہے اور وه بڑاہی کريم ہے ، تب اس شخص نے کہا :اے امير المومنيؑن ! آپؑ نے سچ فرمايا اور ہر عالم سے بڑھ کر ايک عالم ہوتا ہے وه مرد حضرت خضرؑ  (بات کرنے والا شخص خود حضرت خضر) تھے کفعمی نے بلد الامين ميں اسی دعاکو ذکر کيا ہے جو يہ ہے۔۔۔

- Arabic: يَامَنْ لَّا يَشْغَلُهٗ سَمْعٌ عَنْ سَمْعٍ وَّيَا مَنْ لَّا يُغَلِّطُهُ السَّآئِلُوْنَ وَيَا مَنْ لَّايُبْرِمُهٗ اِلْحَاحُ الْمُلِحِّيْنَ اَذِقْنِىْ بَرْدَ عَفْوِكَ وَحَلَاوَةَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَمَغْفِرَتِكَ۔
- Transliteration: YAA MAN LAA YASH-GHALO-HU SAM-OO’N A’N SAM-I’N WA YAA MAN LAA YO-GHALLE-TO-HUS SAAA-E-LOO-NA WA YAA MAN LAA YUBRE-MOHU ILHAA-HUL MOLEH-HEENA AZIQ-NEE BARDA A’FWE-KA WA HALAA-WATA RAHMATE-KA WA MAGH-FERA-TEKA.
- English: O He whom hearing of one sound does not render inattentive to the other, O He whom supplicants (how many they may be) do not confuse or disturb, O He whom clamorous determined pleading of petitioners do not upset; let me cultivate the good taste of enjoying the calm and quiet, only Thy favours make possible; the gentleness and unselfishness Thy kindness and indulgence develop (in me).
- Urdu: اے وہ (خدا)! جس کے لئے ایک بات سننا دوسری بات سننے سے مانع نہیں اور سائلوں کی کثرت غلطی میں نہیں ڈالتی اے وہ ذات! جسے اصرار کرنے والوں کا اصرار تنگ دل نہیں کرتا اپنے عفوودرگزر کی بدولت مجھے اپنی رحمت وبخشش کی لذت چکھا دے!
