# Dua while seeing a defective person

- Instruction: Imam Muhammad Baqir (a) is reported to have said: Whenever you see a diseased or defected person, you should repeat this saying 3 times inaudibly, without letting him hear what you say. If you say so, you will not be affected by that disease or defect…
- Instruction (Urdu): امام محمد باقر  ؑ سے منقول ہے : جب تم کسی مصیبت زدہ کو دیکھو تو نہایت آہستہ آواز میں  جسے وہ سن نہ سکے ۳ مرتبہ یہ کہو۔ جو ایسا کرے وہ اس بلا میں  مبتلا نہ ہو گا۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ عَافَانِىْ مِمَّا اَتْلَاكَ بِهٖ وَلَوْ شَاۗءِ فَعَلْ۔‏
- Transliteration: AL-HAMDO LILLAA-HIL LAZEE ‘AA-FAANEE MIMMAA ATLAA-KA BEHI WA LAUW SHAAA-A FA‘AL.
- English: All praise is for Allah who has spared me from what He has afflicted you with and if He willed, He could have done so (to me).
- Urdu: حمد ہے اس ﷲ کے لیے جس نے مجھے بچایا جس میں  تجھے مبتلا کیا اگر وہ چاہتا تو ایسا کر دیتا۔

- Instruction: According to another tradition, the following statement should be said slowly 3 times at such situations. It is also required to say this statement as inaudibly as possible so that the defected person would not hear you…
- Instruction (Urdu): ایک اور روایت میں  ہے کہ نہایت آہستہ آواز میں  جسے وہ سن نہ سکے ۳ مرتبہ یہ کہو۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ عَافَانِىْ مِمَّا اِبْتِلَاكَ بِهٖ، وَفُضَّلَنِىْ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلٰى كِثَيْرِ مِمَّنْ خَلْقِ۔
- Transliteration: AL-HAMDO LILLAA-HIL LAZEE ‘AA-FAA-NEE MIMMAA IB-TELAA-KA BEHI, WA FUZ-ZALA-NEE ‘ALAIY-KA WA ‘ALAA KE-SAIY-RE MIMMAN KHALQE.
- English: All praise is for Allah who has granted me well-being from what He tested you with, and has favored me over you and over many of His creatures.
- Urdu: حمد اس ﷲ کے لیے جس نے مجھے بچایا جس نے تجھے مبتلا کیا اور مجھے تجھ پر اور اپنی بہت سی مخلوق پر بڑائی دی ہے۔
