# Etiquettes of going to Toilet

- Instruction: If you wish to offer a prayer and need to go to toilet, you may begin with the latter. There are many reported etiquettes of going to toilet. However, I will hereinafter mention some of them briefly: You may precede your left foot to the right when entering the water closet (or the place where you excrete) and say the following…
- Instruction (Urdu): جب نماز کی تیاری کرنے لگے اور بیت الخلاء میں  جانے کی حاجت بھی ہو  تواس کو مقدم کرے  پہلے بایاں پاؤں اندر رکھے ، بیت الخلا کے آداب بہت زیادہ ہیں جن میں  چند یہاں ذکر کئے جا رہے ہیں۔ چنانچہ جب اپنا بایاں پاؤں اندر رکھے تو یہ دُعا پڑھے۔۔۔

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللهِ وَبِاللهِ اَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الرِّجْسِ النَّجِسِ الْخَبِيْثِ الْمُخْبِثِ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ۔
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHE WA BILLAAHE AOO’ZO BELLAAHE MENAR RIJ-SIN NAJE-SIL KHABEE-SIL MUKHBE-SISH SHAITAA-NIR RAJEEME.
- English: O Allah I seek refuge with you from the disgraceful, impure, evil, wicked shaitan. O Allah draw out from me the harm (damage) and protect me from the accursed shaitan. Praise be to Allah the protector and provider.
- Urdu: خدا کے نام اور خدا کی ذات کے ذریعے خدا کی پناہ لیتا ہوں ناپاک غلیظ، گندے اور گندہ کرنے والے دھتکارے ہوئے شیطان سے۔

- Instruction: When you try to take off, you may utter the “Bismillah” At such a situation, and all similar situations, you must try to cover your private parts, letting nobody see them. It is haram (religiously unlawful) to sit, for excretion, facing the qiblah direction or giving it one’s back. While excreting, it is recommended to say the following…
- Instruction (Urdu): جب اپنا کپڑا ہٹائے تو بسم ﷲ پڑھے، اس حالت میں  بلکہ ہر حالت میں  اپنی شرم گاہ کو ہر نگاہ کرنے والے سے چھپائے، بیت الخلا میں  قبلہ رخ و پشت بہ قبلہ بیٹھنا حرام ہے اور مستحب ہے کہ رفع حاجت کے وقت یہ پڑھے۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ اَطْعِمْنِىْ طَيِّبًا فِىْ عَافِيَةٍ وَاَخْرِجْهُ مِنِّىْ خَبِيْثًا فِىْ عَافِيَةٍ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA AT‘IM-NEE TAIYYE-BAN FEE ‘AAFE-YATAN WA AKH-RIJ-HO MINNEE KHABEE-SAN FEE ‘AAFE-YAH.
- English: O Allah! Just as You nourished me for good health remove from me the harmful for my health.
- Urdu: اے معبود !مجھے پاک غذا آسائش کے ساتھ نصیب فرمااورجب وہ ناپاک ہو جائے تو بھی اسے آسائش سے باہر نکال دے۔

- Instruction: If your sight falls on the excrement, you may say the following…
- Instruction (Urdu): اور جب اپنے پاخانے پر نظر پڑے تو کہے۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِى الْحَلَالَ وَجَنِّبْنِى الْحَرَامَ۔
- Transliteration: ALAAHUM-MAR ZUQNIL HALAA-LE WA JANNIB-NIL HARAAM.
- English: O Allah provide me with the halal (permissible) and keep away the haram.
- Urdu: اے معبود! مجھے رزقِ حلال عطا فرما  اور حرام سے بچائے رکھ۔

- Instruction: When you finish and want to clean yourself, you may first of all try to make sure that you have discharged the entire waste. Then, you may say the supplicatory prayer that is said when one’s eye falls on water…
- Instruction (Urdu): استنجاء سے پہلے استبرا کرے اور جب استنجاء کے لیے موجود پانی پر نظر پڑے تو کہے۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ جَعَلَ الْمَاۗءَ طَهُوْرًا وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْهُ نَجِسًا۔
- Transliteration: AL-HAMDO LILLAA-HIL LAZEE JA‘ALAL MAAA-A TAHOO-RAN WA LAM YAJ‘AL-HO NAJESA.
- English: All praise be to Allah Who has made water pure and has not made it impure.
- Urdu: حمد ہے خدا کے لیے جس نے پانی کو پاکیزہ بنایا اور اسے ناپاک نہیں بنایا۔

- Instruction: While cleaning yourself from the waste, you may say the following…
- Instruction (Urdu): استنجا کرتے وقت یہ دعا پڑھے۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ حَصِّنْ فَرْجِىْ وَاَعِفَّهٗ وَاسْتُرْ عَوْرَتِىْ وَحَرِّمْنِىْ عَلَى النَّارِ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA HASSIN FARJEE WA A‘IFFA-HU WAS-TUR ‘AW-RATEE WA HARRIM-NEE ‘ALAN NAAR.
- English: O Allah make me chaste, cover my private parts and keep me away from the hell fire.
- Urdu: خدایا! میری شرم گاہ کو محفوظ اور بے عیب رکھ میری پردہ پوشی فرما اور میرے بدن کو جہنم پر حرام کردے۔

- Instruction: When you finish and stand up, you may rub your abdomen with your right hand and say the following…
- Instruction (Urdu): پھر جب اٹھ کھڑا ہو تو اپنا دایاں ہاتھ پیٹ پر پھیرتے ہوئے یہ کہے۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ اَمَاطَ عَنِّى الْاَذٰى وَهَنَّانِىْ طَعَامِىْ وَشَرَابِىْ وَعَافَانِىْ مِنَ الْبَلْوٰى۔
- Transliteration: AL-HAMDO LILLAA-HIL LAZEE A-MAATA ‘ANNIL AZAA WA HANNAA-NEE TA‘AA-MEE WA SHARAA-BEE WA ‘AA-FAANEE MENAL BALWAA.
- English: All praise be to Allah Who has kept me away from harm, delighted me with my food and drink and restored my health from distress.
- Urdu: حمد ہے خدا کے لیے جس نے آزارواذیت کو مجھ سے دور کیامیرے کھانے پینے کو میرے لیے خوش گوار بنایا اور مجھے تکلیفوں سے بچایا۔

- Instruction: You may then leave the water closet (or the place where you have excreted), preceding your right foot to the left and saying the following…
- Instruction (Urdu): جب بیت الخلاء سے باہر نکلے تو پہلے دایاں پاؤں باہر رکھے اور یہ دعا پڑھے۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ عَرَّفَنِىْ لَذَّتَهٗ وَاَبْقٰى فِىْ جَسَدِىْ قُوَّتَهٗ وَاَخْرَجَ عَنِّىْ اَذَاهُ يَا لَهَا نِعْمَةً يَا لَهَا نِعْمَةً يَا لَهَا نِعْمَةً لَا يَقْدِرُ الْقَادِرُوْنَ قَدْرَهَا۔
- Transliteration: AL-HAMDO LILLAA-HIL LAZEE ‘ARRA-FANEE LAZZA-TAHU WA ABQAA FEE JASA-DEE QUWWATA-HU WA AKH-RAJA ‘ANNEE AZAA-HO YAA LAHAA NE’MATAN YAA LAHAA NE’MATAN YAA LAHAA NE’MATAN LAA YAQ-DERUL QAADE-ROONA QADRA-HA.
- English: All praise be to Allah who made me know its pleasure. Retained in my body its power and removed from me its harm. It is a blessing, it is a blessing, it is a blessing. No assessor can assess its (no calculator can calculate) its worth (value).
- Urdu: حمد ہے خدا کے لیے کہ جس نے مجھے غذا کی لذت بخشی اس کی قوت میرے بدن میں  باقی رکھی اور اس کے آزارواذیت کو مجھ سے دور کیا ،کیا خوب نعمت ہے ،کیا خوب نعمت ہے ،کیا خوب نعمت ہے کہ اندازہ لگانے والے اس کی خوبی کا اندازہ نہیں کرسکتے۔
