# Merits of Taaqibaat

- Instruction: When you accomplish the prayer, you may begin with saying the post-prayer supplications, litanies, and doxologies (ta’qib), because traditions have laid much stress on these. In this respect, Almighty Allah has said (Holy Qur’an 94:7-8)…
- Instruction (Urdu): جب آپ نماز مکمل کر لیں تو اس کے بعد کی دعائیں، ذکر اور تسبیحات (تعقیبات) پڑھنا شروع کر سکتے ہیں، کیونکہ روایات میں ان پر بہت زیادہ زور دیا گیا ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں اللہ قرآن مجید میں ارشاد فرماتا ہے (۹۴: ۷۔۸)۔۔۔

- Arabic: فَاِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ
- Transliteration: FA IZA FARAGH TA FANSAB.
- English: So when you are free, nominate.
- Urdu: لہذا جب آپ فارغ ہو جائیں تو نصب کر دیں۔

- Arabic: وَاِلٰى رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ
- Transliteration: WA ILAA RABBIKA FAR GHAB.
- English: And make your Lord your exclusive object.
- Urdu: اور اپنے رب کی طرف رخ کریں۔

- Instruction: About the exegesis of these two holy verses, it is reported that when you accomplish your prayer, you should labor hard by engaging yourself with supplications and you should desire for your Lord by praying Him for granting you your requests and you should thus put your hope in none save Him. Imam Ali Ameer-ul-Momineen (a) is reported to have said, “When you accomplish your prayers, you may raise your hands towards the sky and tire out yourself by praying Almighty Allah.” As is inferred from traditions, post-prayer utterances increase sustenance. A believer is recorded as performer of prayers and is awarded the rewards of performing prayers as much as he engages himself with mentioning Almighty Allah after the prayer. A supplication that is said after obligatory prayers is preferred to supplications that are said after supererogatory prayers (Nafilah).
- Instruction (Urdu): ان دو آیات کی تفسیر کے مطابق: جب تم نماز پوری کر لو تو پھر دعا اور ذکر میں محنت کرو۔ اپنے رب سے مانگو، اپنی حاجتیں اسی کے سامنے رکھو، اور امید صرف اللہ ہی سے رکھو۔ امام علیؑ سے روایت ہے: جب نماز ختم کرو تو ہاتھ آسمان کی طرف اٹھاؤ اور اللہ سے دعا کرتے کرتے خود کو تھکا دو (یعنی بہت زیادہ اور مسلسل دعا کرو)۔ روایات سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ نماز کے بعد کے اذکار اور دعائیں رزق میں اضافہ کا سبب بنتی ہیں۔ بندہ جتنی دیر نماز کے بعد اللہ کا ذکر کرتا رہے، اسے اتنا ہی ثواب ملتا ہے جیسے وہ نماز میں ہو۔ اور واجب نماز کے بعد کی دعا، نفل نماز کے بعد کی دعا سے زیادہ افضل ہے۔
