- Instruction: Imam Sadiq (a) is reported to have said, “No 40 mornings passed on a believer unless evil self-inspirations jump to his mind. When you are attacked by such evil inspirations, you may offer a 2 unit prayer and pray Almighty Allah to protect you against so.” Imam Sadiq (a) is also reported to have said: When Prophet Adam (a) complained to Almighty Allah against evil self-inspirations, Archangel Gabriel came down to him and asked him to say the following. Once Prophet Adam (a) did, he could get rid of evil self-inspirations…
- Instruction (Urdu): امام جعفر صادقؑ  سے روايت ہے کہ کوئی مومن ايسا نہيں ہے کہ جس کے ۴۰ دن گزاريں اور اسے حديث نفس عارض نہ ہو لہذا جب کسی مومن کوحديث نفس عارض ہو تو اسے چاہيے کہ ۲رکعت نماز ادا کرے اور خدا کی پناه طلب کرے آپ ہی سے منقول ہے کہ جب حضرت آدمؑ نے خدا سے حديث نفس کی شکايت کی تو حضرت جبرائيلؑ نازل ہوئے اور انہيں بتا يا کہ آپ یہ کہا کريں چنانچہ حضرت آدمؑ نے يہی ذکر پڑھا اور حديث نفس ان سے دور ہوگئی۔۔۔

- Arabic: لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ۔
- Transliteration: LAA HAWLA WA LAA QUWWATA ILLAA BILLAAH.
- English: There is neither might nor power except with Allah.
- Urdu: نہیں کوئی طاقت و قوت مگر اللہ سے۔

- Instruction: Imam Baqir (a) has reported that when a man complained to the Holy Prophet (s) against obsession, evil self-inspiration, and unbearable debts, the Holy Prophet (s) taught him the following litany. After some time, the man returned to the Holy Prophet (s) to tell him that Almighty Allah had removed obsession from him, helped him settle all his debts, and saved him from poverty…
- Instruction (Urdu): حضرت نے فرمايا اس جملہ کوحضرت امام محمد باقرؑ  سے روايت ہے کہ ايک شخص نے رسول اکرمؐ کی خدمت میں آکر وسوسے ، حديث نفس اور قرض وغربت کی شکايت کی تو آنحضرتؐ نے فرمايا تم يہ دعا پڑھا کرو، اس کے ساتھ يہ بھی فرمايا کہ يہ دعا بار بار پڑھا کرو اور خدا کی اس قدر بڑائی بيان کرو کہ جو اس کا حق ہے چنانچہ زياده عرصہ نہ گزرا تھا کہ وه شخص آنحضرت کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور عرض کيا يا رسول اللهؐ! الله تعالیٰ نے مجھ سے وسوسے دور کر دئيے ميرا قرض ادا کرا ديا اور ميری غربت ہٹا دی۔۔۔

- Arabic: تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى الْحَىِّ الَّذِىْ لَا يَمُوْتُ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِىْ لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهٗ شَرِيْكَ فِى الْمُلْكِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهٗ وَلِىُّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيْرًا۔
- Transliteration: TAWAKKAL-TO ‘ALAL HAIYYIL LAZEE LAA YAMOO-TO WAL HAMDO LILLAA-HIL LAZEE LAM YATTA-KIZ WALA-DAN WA LAM YAKUN LAHU SHAREE-KA FIL MUL-KE WA LAM YA-KUN LAHU WALIYYO MENAZ ZULLE WA KABBIR-HO TAK-BEERA.
- English: I place my trust in the Ever-Living who does not die. And all praise is for Allah He has not taken a child; He has no partner in His dominion; and He has no protector out of weakness. So magnify Him with great magnificence.
- Urdu: اس زنده پر بھروسہ کرتا ہوں جسے موت نہيں آئے گی، حمد الله کے لئے جس نے کسی کو اپنا بيٹا نہيں بنايانہ بادشاہت میں اس کا کوئی شريک ہے نہ وه کمزور ہے کہ اس کا کوئی مدد گار بنے اور اس کی بہت بڑائی کرو۔

- Instruction: The following holy verse (57:3) is reported to be said for fending off Satan’s evil inspiration when doubt is arisen in one’s mind…
- Instruction (Urdu): روايت ہے کہ جب شيطانی وسوسوں سے تمہارا سينہ تنگ ہونے لگے اور شکوک پيدا ہونے لگيں تو يہ کہا کرو۔۔۔

- Arabic: هُوَ الْاَوَّلُ وَالْاٰخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ
- Transliteration: HUWAL AWWALU WAL’AAKHIRU WAZ ZAAHIRU WAL BAATINU WA HUWA BIKULLI SHAI’IN ALEEM.
- English: He is the First and the Last and the Ascendant (overall) and the Knower of hidden things, and He is Cognizant of all things.
- Urdu: وہی اوّل ہے وہی آخر وہی ظاہر ہے وہی باطن اور وہی ہر شے کا جاننے والا ہے۔
