## About this text

A supplication that appeals to Allah by His name. The reciter asks blessings upon Muhammad and his progeny, and addresses Allah as the Liberal Benefactor, the Knower of all that is unseen, the One who is near without being distant, who prevails and is never subdued, whom none knows as He is except Himself, and who issues no command but with authority. The appeal is made in the name of Allah described as guarded, precious, hidden and abiding, pure and purifying, sacred and perfectly illuminated, everlasting and self-subsistent, the Light of the heavens and the earths. The supplication closes as it began, with blessings upon Muhammad and his progeny.

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: يَا بَارُّ يَا وَصُوْلُ يَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ غَائِبٍ وَيَا قَرِيْبُ غَيْرَ بَعِيْدٍ وَيَا غَالِبُ غَيْرَ مَغْلُوْبٍ وَيَا مَنْ لَا يَعْلَمُ كَيْفَ هُوَ اِلَّا هُوَ يَا مَنْ لَّا تُبْلَغُ قُدْرَتُهٗ اَسْئَلُكَ اللّٰهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ الْمَكْنُوْنِ الْمَخْزُوْنِ الْمَكْتُوْمِ عَمَّنْ شِئْتَ الطَّاهِرِ الْمُطَهَّرِ الْمُقَدَّسِ النُّوْرِ التَّامِّ الْحَيِّ الْقَيُّوْمِ الْعَظِيْمِ نُوْرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَنُوْرِ الْاَرَضِيْنَ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْكَبِيْرِ الْمُتَعَالِ الْعَظِيْمِ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
- Transliteration: YAA BAARRU YAA WASOOLU YAA SHAAHIDA KULLI GHAA'IBIN WAYAA QAREEBU GHAYRA BA'EEDIN WAYAA GHAALIBU GHAYRA MAGHLOOBIN WAYAA MAN LAA YA'LAMU KAYFA HUWA ILLAA HUWA YAA MAN LAA TUBLAGHU QUDRATUHOO AS'ALUKA ALLAAHUMMA BISMIKA AL-MAKNOONI AL-MAKHZOONI AL-MAKTOOMI 'AMMAN SHI'TA AT-TAAHIRI AL-MUTAHHARI AL-MUQADDASI AN-NOORI AT-TAAMMI AL-HAYYI AL-QAYYOOMI AL-'AZEEMI NOORI AS-SAMAAWAATI WANOORI AL-ARADEENA 'AALIMI AL-GHAYBI WASH-SHAHAADATI AL-KABEERI AL-MUTA'AALI AL-'AZEEMI SALLI 'ALAA MUHAMMADIN WAAALI MUHAMMADIN.
- English: O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and on the progeny of Muhammad In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. O Liberal Benefactor, O Beloved Object, O Knower of (all) unseen, O He Who is near, Without (being) distant, O He Who prevails, But never subdued, O He Whom no one knows how he is? Except He. O He Who does not issue commands but with authority, I beseech Thee O My Allah, in the name of Thy name (which is) well-guarded, precious, hidden, permanently abiding, distinct, pure, purifying, sacred, perfectly illuminated, Everlasting, Self Subsistent, Great, Light of the heavens And Light of the earths, Knower of Unseen, An Evidence, honored, most high and Great., Send blessings on Muhammad and on the progeny of Muhammad.
- Urdu: اے نیکی فرمانے والے! اے (ہر ایک تک) پہنچنے والے! اے ہر غائب کے گواہ! اے وہ جو قریب ہے مگر دور نہیں! اے وہ جو غالب ہے اور مغلوب نہیں ہوتا! اے وہ ذات کہ جس کی حقیقت کو اس کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا! اے وہ کہ جس کی قدرت کی کوئی حد نہیں پہنچ سکتی! میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں، اے اللہ! تیرے اُس پوشیدہ، محفوظ، مخفی نام کے واسطے سے جسے تو نے جس سے چاہا چھپا رکھا جو پاک، پاکیزہ، مقدس، کامل نور، زندہ اور قائم بالذات ہے؛ آسمانوں کا نور اور زمینوں کا نور ہے؛ غیب و شہادت کا جاننے والا، بڑا، بلند مرتبہ اور عظمت والا ہے کہ محمدؐ اور آلِ محمدؑ پر درود نازل فرما۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAHUMMA SWALLE ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA AALE MUHAMMADIN
- English: Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
- Urdu: اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
