## About this text

A supplication asking Allah for rain. After asking blessings upon Muhammad and his family, the reciter asks for water that is ample, continuous, blessed and beneficial rather than harmful -- rain by which the servants and the lands revive and the plants and vegetation grow, and which provides both for the people of the city and for the one who wanders. The reciter asks for pure water from the blessings of the sky and growth from the blessings of the earth to quench the creatures and the people, and closes by asking Allah's mercy upon the kneeling chieftains, the suckling infants, the grazing animals and the subdued youth.

## Text

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلٰى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔ اَللّٰهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثًا مُغِيْثًا مُجَلِّلًا طَبَقًا مُطْبِقًا جَلَلًا مُوْنِقًا رَاجِيًا غَدَقًا مُغْدِقًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا هَاطِلًا مُنْهَطِلًا مُتَهَاطِلًا رَغَدًا هَنِيْئًا مَرِيْئًا دَائِمًا رَوِيًّا سَرِيْعًا عَامًّا مُسْبِلًا نَافِعًا غَيْرَ ضَارٍّ تُحْيِيْ بِهِ الْعِبَادَ وَالْبِلَادَ وَتَنْبُتُ بِهِ الزَّرْعَ وَالنَّبَاتَ وَتَجْعَلُ فِيْهِ بَلَاغًا لِلْحَاضِرِ مِنَّا وَالْبَادِ۔ اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ بَرَكَاتِ سَمَائِكَ مَاءً طَهُوْرًا وَاَنْبِتْ لَنَا مِنْ بَرَكَاتِ اَرْضِكَ نَبَاتًا مُسْقِيًا وَتُسْقِيْهِ مِمَّا خَلَقْتَ اَنْعَامًا وَاَنَاسِيَّ كَثِيْرًا۔ اَللّٰهُمَّ ارْحَمْنَا بِمَشَايِخِ رُكَّعٍ وَصِبْيَانٍ رُضَّعٍ وَبَهَائِمٍ رُتَّعٍ وَشُبَّانٍ خُضَّعٍ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA A’LAA AALE MOHAMMADIN. ALLAAHUMMAS QENAA GHAYSAN MOGHEESAN MOJALLELAN TABAQAN MUTBEQAN JALALAN MOONEQAN RAAJE-YAN GHADAQAN MUGHDEQAN TAYYEBAN MOBAARAKAN HAATELAN MUNHATELAN MOTA-HAATELAN RAGHADAN HANEE-AN MAREEAN DAA-EMAN RAWIYYAN SAREE-A’N A’AMMAN MUSBELAN NAAFE-A’N GHAYRA ZAARRIN TOHYEE BEHIL E’BAADA WAL BELAADA WA TANBOTO BEHIZ ZAR-A’ WAN NABAATA WA TAJ-A’LO FEEHE BALAAGHAN LILHAAZERE MINNAA WAL-BAAD. ALLAAHUMMA ANZIL A’LAYNAA MIN BARAKAATE SAMAA-EKA MAA-AN TAHOORAN WA AN-BIT LANAA MIN BARAKAATE ARZEKA NABAATAN MASQEYAN WA TUSQEEHE MIMMAA KHALAQTA AN-A’AMAN WA ANAASIYYA KASEERAA. ALLAAHUMMAR HAMNAA BE-MASHAAYEKHE RUKKA-I’N WA SIBYAANIN RUZZAI’N WA BAHAA-EMIN RUTTA-I’N WA SHUBBAANIN KHUZZA-I’N.
- English: O Allah! Send Your blessings on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad. O Allah! Quench us with rain relieving, ample, covering, absolute, beautiful, succulent, hopeful, with abundant droplets, watery, good, sacred, continuous, successive, large drops, ample, blessed, pleasant ending, durable, satiating, rapid, universal, down casting, beneficial, unharming. By it the servants and the lands revive and by it the plants and vegetations grow, and make it as a provider for the inhabitants of the city from us and the wanderer. O Allah! Send on us pure water from the blessings of Your sky and grow for us hosed vegetation from the blessings of Your earth, and quench with it creatures and plenty of people. O Allah! Have mercy upon our knelt chieftains and our suckling infants and grazing animals and subdued youth.
- Urdu: اے خدا! محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر رحمت نازل فرما۔ خدا یا! ہمارے لیے بارش عطا فرما بھر پور اور شان دار مسلسل اور کثرت سے بارش عطا فرما، خیر و برکت والی برسات برسا، ایسی برسات جس میں خیر و عافیت ہو، جو نقصان نہ دے، جو تیرے بندوں اور شہروں کے لیے اور زراعت اور کھیتوں کے لئے نقصان کا سبب نہ ہو، اچھی اور با برکت بارش جو فصلوں کی نشو و نما کرتی ہے، اے خدا! ہم پر آسمان سے پاک و پاکیزہ بارش عطا کر اور زمین کو پاک نبات اگا نے والی قرار دے سیراب کر جو تیری خلقت ہے، مویشیوں اور انسانوں میں سے جن کو تو نے پیدا کیا ہے، اے خدا! تو بزرگوں پر اپنی رحمت نازل کر اور جوانوں کو خضوع و خشوع اور خیر و عافیت اور تیری مرضی کے مطابق زندگی گزار نے کی توفیق  عطا کر۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAHUMMA SWALLE ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA AALE MUHAMMADIN
- English: Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
- Urdu: اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
