## About this text

A litany of the names of Allah. The reciter affirms that He is Allah, there is no god except Him, and then names Him in groups -- the Most Merciful, the King, the Most Holy, the Source of Peace, the Creator, the Fashioner, the Provider, the All-Hearing and the All-Seeing, the Judge, the Forbearing, the Most Forgiving, the Most Loving, the Resurrector, the Witness and the Truth. Each group closes with the same refrain, calling upon Allah as the Protector, the Preserver, the Watchful One and the Near One.

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Transliteration: HO WALLAA-HUL LAZEE LAA ILAAHA ILLAA HO-WAR RAHMAA-NUR RAHEE-MUL MALE-KUL QUDDOO-SUS SALAA-MUL MOAME-NUL MOHAI-MENUL AZEE-ZUL JABBAA-RO, YAA HAAFE-ZO YAA HAFEE-ZO YAA RAQEE-BO YAA QAREE-BO. AL MOTA KABBE-RUL KHAALE-QUL BAARE-UL MOSAWWE-RUL GHAFFA-RUL QAHAA-RUL WAHAA-BUR RAZZAA-QUL FATTAA-HUL A’LEEMO, YAA HAAFE-ZO YAA HAFEE-ZO YAA RAQEE-BO YAA QAREE-BO. AL QAABE-ZUL BAASE-TUL KHAAFE-ZUR RAAFE’UL MO’IZ-ZUL MOZIL-LUS SAMEE’UL BASEE-RUL HAKA-MUL A’DLO, YAA HAAFE-ZO YAA HAFEE-ZO YAA RAQEE-BO YAA QAREE-BO. - Urdu: وہ اللہ ہے جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں: نہایت مہربان، بہت رحم کرنے والا؛ بادشاہ؛ پاک؛ سلامتی دینے والا؛ امن دینے والا؛ نگہبان؛ غالب؛ زبردست۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔ بڑائی والا؛ پیدا کرنے والا؛ وجود دینے والا؛ صورت بنانے والا؛ بہت بخشنے والا؛ سب پر غالب؛ عطا کرنے والا؛ رزق دینے والا؛ کھول دینے والا؛ سب کچھ جاننے والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔ روک لینے والا؛ پھیلانے والا؛ پست کرنے والا؛ بلند کرنے والا؛ عزت دینے والا؛ ذلیل کرنے والا؛ خوب سننے والا؛ خوب دیکھنے والا؛ فیصلہ کرنے والا؛ پورا انصاف کرنے والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔ نہایت لطیف؛ باخبر؛ بردبار؛ بہت عظمت والا؛ بہت بخشنے والا؛ قدر دان؛ بلند؛ بڑا؛ حفاظت کرنے والا؛ روزی/قوت پہنچانے والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔ حساب لینے والا/حساب کرنے کے لیے کافی؛ جلیل؛ کریم؛ نگہبان؛ دعا قبول کرنے والا؛ وسیع؛ حکمت والا؛ محبت کرنے والا؛ بزرگی والا؛ دوبارہ اٹھانے والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔

AL MOH-YIL MOMEE-TO ZUL HAIYYUL QAIYYOO-MUL WAAJE-DUL MAAJE-DUL WAAHE-DUS SAMA-DUL QAADE-RUL MUQTA-DERO, YAA HAAFE-ZO YAA HAFEE-ZO YAA RAQEE-BO YAA QAREE-BO. - English: The Witness, the Truth, the Trustee and Disposer of affairs, the Strong, the Firm, the Protecting Friend, the Praiseworthy, the Reckoner, the Originator, the Restorer. O Protector, O Preserver, O Watchful One, O Near One. The Giver of life, the Giver of death, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting Sustainer, the Finder, the Glorious, the One, the Ever-Needed, the All-Powerful, the Most Powerful. O Protector, O Preserver, O Watchful One, O Near One. The Advancer, the Delayer, the First, the Last, the Manifest, the Hidden, the Governor, the Most Exalted, the Source of Goodness, the Accepter of repentance. O Protector, O Preserver, O Watchful One, O Near One. The Avenger, the Pardoner, the Most Kind, the Owner, the Sovereign, the Owner of Majesty and Honour, the Just, the Gatherer, the Self-Sufficient, the Enricher. O Protector, O Preserver, O Watchful One, O Near One. The Preventer, the One who can afflict, the Benefiter, the Light, the Guide, the Incomparable Originator, the Ever-Remaining, the Inheritor, the Rightly Guiding, the Most Patient. O Protector, O Preserver, O Watchful One, O Near One.
- Urdu: گواہ، سچ، کارساز، طاقتور، مضبوط، دوست و مددگار، قابلِ تعریف، حساب رکھنے والا، پہلی بار پیدا کرنے والا، دوبارہ لوٹانے والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔ زندگی دینے والا، موت دینے والا، ہمیشہ زندہ، سب کو سنبھالنے والا، پانے والا، باعزت، ایک، سب کی حاجت پوری کرنے والا، قدرت والا، بہت قدرت والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔ آگے بڑھانے والا، پیچھے رکھنے والا، پہلا، آخری، ظاہر، پوشیدہ، نگران (حاکم)، سب سے بلند، نیکی کرنے والا، توبہ قبول کرنے والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔ بدلہ لینے والا، معاف کرنے والا، نہایت مہربان، مالک، بادشاہی والا، جلال اور عزت والا، پورا انصاف کرنے والا، جمع کرنے والا، بے نیاز، غنی کرنے والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔ روکنے والا، نقصان پہنچانے پر قادر، نفع دینے والا، نور، ہدایت دینے والا، بے مثال پیدا کرنے والا، ہمیشہ باقی، سب کا وارث، صحیح راہ دکھانے والا، بہت صبر والا۔ اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے بہت حفاظت کرنے والے، اے نگرانی کرنے والے، اے قریب رہنے والے۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAHUMMA SWALLE ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA AALE MUHAMMADIN
- English: Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
- Urdu: اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
