It is recited on Friday mornings and on the four Eids. It begins with praise, then walks through the prophets Allah chose and the covenant He made with them, comes to the Prophet Muhammad (s) and to his family, and recounts what was done to them one after another — until it arrives at the Imam who is alive and absent. The last movement is direct address, and it is where the dua gets its name: calling out to him, asking where he is, and asking when the waiting ends. It is the most openly grieving text in the collection. ## Text ### Nudba literally means to weep & lament, where the tribulations of the Ahlul Bayt and the occultation of the 12th Imam is lamented upon by the reciter of the Dua. - Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ - Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM - English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful. - Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔ - Arabic: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ وَصَلَّی اللہُ عَلٰی سَیِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ نَبِیِّہٖ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِیْمًا۔ اَللّٰھُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلٰی مَا جَرٰی بِہٖ قَضَآئُكَ فِیْ اَوْلِیَآئِكَ الَّذِیْنَ اسْتَخْلَصْتَھُمْ لِنَفْسِكَ وَدِیْنِكَ۔ - Transliteration: ALHAMDO LILLAAHE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA WA SALLALLAAHO A’LAA SAYYEDENAA MOHAMMADIN NABIYYEHI WA AALEHI WA SALLAMA TASLEEMAN ALLAAHUMMA LAKAL HAMDO A’LAA MAA JARAA BEHI QAZAAA-OKA FEE AWLEYAAA-EKAL LAZEENAS TAKHLASTAHUM LENAFSEKA WA DEENEKA. - English: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. And blessings of Allah and peace be on our Chief Muhammad, His Prophet, and on his children. O my Allah! (All) praise is for Thee for that which Thou decided upon and resolved in the matter of Thy friends, whom Thou purified for Thyself and Thy religion. - Urdu: حمد ہے خداکے لئے جو جہانوں کا پروردگار ہے اور خدا ہمارے سردار اور اپنے نبی محمدؐ اور ان کی آلؑ پر رحمت کرے اور بہت بہت سلام بھیجے اے معبود! حمد ہے تیرے لئے کہ جاری ہو گی تیری قضا و قدر تیرے اولیاء کے بارے میں جن کو تو نے اپنے لئے اور اپنے دین کے لئے خاص کیا۔ - Arabic: اِذِ اخْتَرْتَ لَھُمْ جَزِیْلَ مَا عِنْدَكَ مِنَ النَّعِیْمِ الْمُقِیْمِ الَّذِیْ لَا زَوَالَ لَہٗ وَلَا اضْمِحْلَالَ بَعْدَ اَنْ شَرَطْتَ عَلَیْھِمُ الزَّھْدَ فِیْ دَرَجَاتِ ھٰذِہِ الدُّنْیَا الدَّنِیَّۃِ وَزُخْرُفِھَا وَزِبْرِجِھَا فَشَرَطُوْا لَكَ ذٰلِكَ وَعَلِمْتَ مِنْھُمُ الْوَفَآءَبِہٖ فَقَبِلْتَھُمْ وَقَرَّبْتَھُمْ وَقَدَّمْتَ لَھُمُ الذِّكْرَ الْعَلِیَّ وَالثَّنَآءَالْجَلِیَّ وَاَھْبَطْتَ عَلَیْھِمْ مَلٓائِكَتَكَ وَكَرَّمْتَھُمْ بِوَحْیِكَ وَرَفَدْتَھُمْ بِعِلْمِكَ وَجَعَلْتَھُمُ الذَّرِیْعَۃَ اِلَیْكَ وَالْوَسِیْلَۃَ اِلٰی رِضْوَانِكَ۔ - Transliteration: EZIKH TARTA LAHUM JAZEELA MAA I’NDAKA MENAN NA-E’EMIL MOQEEMIL LAZEE LAA ZAWAALA LAHU WA LAZ-MEHLAALA BA’DA AN SHARATTA A’LAYHEMUZ ZOHDA FEE DARAJAATE HAAZEHID DUNYAD DANIYYATE WA ZUKHROFEHAA WA ZIBREJEHAA FA-SHARATOO LAKA ZAALEKA WA ’ALIMTA MINHOMUL WAFAAA-A BEHI FAQABILTAHUM WA QARRABTAHUM WA QADDAMTA LAHOMUZ ZIKRAL A’LIYYA WAS SANAAA-AL JALIYYA WA AHBATTA A’LAYHIM MALAAA-EKATAKA WA KARRAMTAHUM BE-WAH-YEKA WA RAFADTAHUM BE-I’LMEKA WA JA-A’LTAHOMUZ ZAREE-A’TA ELAYKA WAL WASEELATA ELAA RIZWAANEKA. - English: When wisdom and high rank from Thee, prostrated themselves in adoration before them (from the Bountiful Preserving Lord), for whom neither there was any decreased, nor dispersion thereafter, then Thou stipulated for them piety and righteousness. While they were in this mean and crooked world, free from its pomp, vanity and false enjoyments, Thy overreaching authority made known their identity; and equipped them with sincerity and perfection stood surety for them and communicated intimately with them, sent the news of their auspicious arrival in advance, and praised them in clear terms for the benefit of one and all. Fell down on the ground in prostration Thy Angels before them, Thou chose them to reveal Thy Words, gave them Thy wisdom as a gift, set them up as the (only) medium to reach Thee, the only means to the eternal land of peace and happiness. - Urdu: جب کہ انہیں اپنے ہاں سے وہ نعمتیں عطا کی ہیں جو باقی رہنے والی ہیں جو نہ ختم ہوتی ہیں نہ کمزور پڑتی ہیں اس کے بعد کہ تو نے ان پر اس دنیا کے بے حقیقت عہدے جھوٹی شان و شوکت اور زینت سے دور رہنا لازم کیا پس انہوں نے یہ شرط پوری کی اور ان کی وفا کو تو جانتا ہے تونے انہیں قبول کیا مقرب بنایا ان کے ذکر کو بلند فرمایا اور ان کی تعریفیں ظاہر کیں تو نے ان کی طرف اپنے فرشتے بھیجے ان کو وحی سے مشرف کیا ان کو اپنے علوم سے نوازا اور ان کو وہ ذریعہ قرار دیا جوتجھ تک پہنچائے اور وہ وسیلہ جو تیری خوشنودی تک لے جائے۔ - Arabic: فَبَعْضٌ اَسْكَنْتَہٗ جَنَّتَكَ اِلٰی اَنْ اَخْرَجْتَہٗ مِنْھَا وَبَعْضٌ حَمَلْتَہٗ فِیْ فُلْكِكَ وَنَجَّیْتَہٗ وَمَنْ اٰمَنَ مَعَہٗ مِنَ الْھَلَكَۃِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَبَعْضُ اتَّخَذْتَہٗ لِنَفْسِكَ خَلِیْلًا وَسَئَلَكَ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِی الْاٰخِرِیْنَ فَاَجَبْتَہٗ وَجَعَلْتَ ذٰلِكَ عَلِیًّا وَّبَعْضٌ كَلَّمْتَہٗ مِنْ شَجَرَۃٍ تَكْلِیْمًا وَجَعَلْتَ لَہٗ مِنْ اَخِیْہِ رِدْءًا وَّوَزِیْرًا وَّبَعْضٌ اَوْلَدْتَہٗ مِنْ غَیْرِ اَبٍ وَّاٰتَیْتَہُ الْبَیِّنَاتِ وَاَیَّدْتَہٗ بِرُوْحِ الْقُدُسِ۔ - Transliteration: FA-BA’-ZUN ASKANTAHU JANNATAKA ELAA AN AKHRAJTAHU MINHAA WA BA’-ZUN HAMALTAHU FEE FULKEKA WA NAJJAYTAHU WA MAN AAMANA MA-A’HU MENAL HALAKATE BERAHMATEKA WA BA’-ZUN ITTAKHAZTAHU LENAFSEKA KHALEELAN WA SA-ALAKA LESAANA SIDQIN FIL AAKHEREENA FA-AJABTAHU WA JA-A’LTA ZAALEKA A’LIYYAN WA BA’-ZUN KALLAMTAHU MIN SHAJARATIN TAKLEEMAN WA JA-A’LTA LAHU MIN AKHEEHE RID-AN WA WAZEERAN WA BA’-ZUN AWLADTAHU MIN GHAYRE ABIN WA AATAYTAHUL BAYYENAATE WA AYYADTAHU BE-ROOHIL QODOSE. - English: One dwelled in Paradise until Thou sent him on (as the first Prophet) One was made to cruise the \’Ark\’, and had been rescued, and kept safe from destruction through Thy mercy. One was chosen and prepared for Thy Mission, as (Thy) Friend, (who) made a request to Thee for a good report in (his) later generations, so Thou approved and complied with, exalted them and gave them authority. One was spoken directly through the Tree, his brother was appointed his successor and helper. One was brought in without a father, was given clear proofs, and was supported with the Holy Spirit. - Urdu: پس ان میں کسی کوجنت میں رکھا یہاں تک کہ اس سے باہر بھیجا کسی کو اپنی کشتی میں سوار کیا اور بچا لیا اور جو ان کے ساتھ تھے انہیں موت سے بچایا تو نے اپنی رحمت کے ساتھ اور کسی کو تو نے اپنا خلیل بنایا پھردوسرے سچی زبان والوں نے تجھ سے سوال کیا جسے تو نے پورا فرمایا اسے بلند وبالا قرار دیا کسی کے ساتھ تو نے درخت کے ذریعے کلام کیا اور اس کے بھائی کو اس کا مدد گار بنایا کسی کو تو نے بن باپ کے پیدا فرمایا اسے بہت سے معجزات دئیے اور روح ِقدس سے اسے قوت دی تو نے ان میں سے ہر ایک کے لئے ایک شریعت اور راستہ مقرر کیا۔ - Arabic: وَكُلٌّ شَرَعْتَ لَہٗ شَرِیْعَۃً وَنَھَجْتَ لَہٗ مِنْھَاجًا وَّتَخَیَّرْتَ لَہٗ اَوْصِیَآءَ مُسْتَحْفِظًا بَعْدَ مُسْتَحْفِظٍ مِّنْ مُّدَّۃِ اِلٰی مُدَّۃٍ اِقَامَۃً لِّدِیْنِكَ وَحُجَّۃً عَلٰی عِبَادِكَ وَلِئَلَّا یَزُوْلَ الْحَقُّ عَنْ مَقَرِّہٖ وَیَغْلِبَ الْبَاطِلُ عَلٰی اَھْلِہٖ وَلَا یَقُوْلَ اَحَدٌ لَّوْلَا اَرْسَلْتَ اِلَیْنَا رَسُوْلًا مُّنْذِرًا وَّاَقَمْتَ لَنَا عَلَمًا ھَادِیًا فَنَتَّبِعَ اٰیَاتِكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ نَذِلَّ وَنَخْزٰی۔ - Transliteration: WA KULLUN SHARA’-TA LAHU SHAREE-A’TAN WA NAHAJTA LAHU MINHAAJAN WA TAKHAYYARTA LAHU AWSEYAAA-A MUSTAHFEZAN BA’-DA MUSTAHFEZIN MIN MUDDATIN ELAA MUDDATIN EQAAMATAN LE-DEENEKA WA HUJJATAN A’LAA E’BAADEKA WA LE-ALLAA YAZOOLAL HAQQO A’N MAQARREHI WA YAGHLEBAL BAATELO A’LAA AHLEHI WA LAA YAQOOLA AHADUN LAWLAA ARSALTA ELAYNAA RASOOLAN MUNZERAN WA AQAMTA LANAA A’LAMAN HAADEYAN FANATTABE-A’ AAYAATEKA MIN QABLE AN NAZILLA WA NAKHZAA. - English: For each Thou prescribed a Divine law, and set up a traced out path, each was appointed a guardian-executor, (and each) fulfilled the duty after being kept safe and protected, in the term of establishing Thy religion, a witness and argument over Thy servants (mankind), Lest the truth staggered from its firm stand and foundation, and the falsehood conquered the hearts of the people, and might not say a single man: \’If only Thou had sent a Messenger unto us as a Warner, to show us the path of wisdom and guidance, so that we might have followed Thy revelations before we were (thus) humbled and disgraced!\’ - Urdu: ان کے لئے اوصیاء چنے کہ تیرے دین کو قائم رکھنے کے لئے ایک کے بعد دوسرا نگہبان آیا جو تیرے بندوں پر حجت قرار پایا تاکہ حق اپنے مقام سے نہ ہٹے اور باطل کے حامی اہل حق پر غلبہ نہ پائیں اور کوئی یہ نہ کہے کہ کاش تو نے ہماری طرف ڈرانے والا رسول بھیجا ہوتا اور ہمارے لئے ہدایت کا پرچم بلند کیا ہوتا کہ تیری آیتوں کی پیروی کرتے اس سے پہلے کہ ذلیل و رسوا ہوں۔ - Arabic: اِلٰی اَنِ انْتَھَیْتَ بِالْاَمْرِ اِلٰی حَبِیْبِكَ وَنَجِیْبِكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ فَكَانَ كَمَا انْتَجَبْتَہٗ سَیِّدَ مَنْ خَلَقْتَہٗ وَصَفْوَۃَ مَنِ اصْطَفَیْتَہٗ وَاَفْضَلَ مَنِ اجْتَبَیْتَہٗ وَاَكْرَمَ مَنِ اعْتَمَدْتَہٗ قَدَّمْتَہٗ عَلٰی اَنْبِیَآئِكَ وَبَعَثْتَہٗ اِلٰی الثَّقَلَیْنِ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ وَاَوْطَاْتَہٗ مَشَارِقَكَ وَمَغَارِبَكَ وَسَخَّرْتَ لَہُ الْبُرَاقَ وَعَرَجْتَ بِرُوْحِہٖ اِلٰی سَمَآئِكَ وَاَوْدَعْتَہٗ عِلْمَ مَا كَانَ وَمَا یَكُوْنُ اِلَی انْقِضَآءِ خَلْقِكَ۔ - Transliteration: ELAA ANIN TAHAYTA BIL-AMRE ELAA HABEEBEKA WA NAJEEBEKA MOHAMMADIN SALLALLAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI FA-KAANA KAMAN TAJABTAHU SAYYEDA MAN KHALAQTAHU WA SAFWATA MANIS- TAFAYTAHU WA AFZALA MANIJ TABAYTAHU WA AKRAMA MANEA’ TAMADTAHU QADDAMTAHU A’LAA AMBEYAAA-EKA WA BA-A’STAHU ELAS-SAQALAYNE MIN E’BAADEKA WA AW-TAATAHU MASHAAREQAKA WA MAGHAAREBAKA WA SAKHKHARTA LAHUL BORAAQA WA A’RAJTA BE ROOHE-HI ELAA SAMAAA-EKA WA AWDA’-TAHU I’LMA MAA KAANA WA MAA YAKOONO ELAN QEZAAA-E KHALQEKA. - English: Then Thou made plans to bring out the wonderful advent of Muhammad, (Send blessing on him and on his children). So Thou just as chose him master of Whosoever Thou created, made him (whom Thou Selected), pure, clean and the best, exalted and praised him (whom Thou elected), surpassed in generosity and liberality while bestowing high-mindedness and beneficence upon him (whom Thou took in confidence and relied upon); made him leader-in-chief of (all) thy Prophets, and sent him to the troubled world of men and jinn, among Thy servants, lowered and humbled before him the Easts and the Wests, under his total control was brought all affairs, exalted his soul in Thy heavens gave over to him the knowledge of what took place and what will happen, concerning facts and operation of creation. - Urdu: یہاں تک کہ تو نے امر ہدایت اپنے حبیب اور پاکیزہ اصل محمدؐ کے سپرد کیا پس وہ ایسے سردار ہوئے جن کو تو نے مخلوق میں سے پسند کیا برگزیدوں میں سے برگزیدہ بنایا جن کو چنا ان میں سے افضل بنایا اپنے خواص میں سے بزرگ قرار دیا انہیں نبیوں کا پیشوا بنایا اور ان کو اپنے بندوں میں سے جن وانس کی طرف بھیجا ان کے لئے سارے مشرقوں مغربوں کو زیر کر دیا براق کو ان کا اطاعت گزار بنایا اور ان کو جسم و جان کے ساتھ آسمان پربلایا اور تو نے انہیں سابقہ و آئندہ باتوں کا علم دیا یہاں تک کہ تیری مخلوق ختم ہو جائے۔ - Arabic: ثُمَّ نَصَرْتَہٗ بِالرُّعْبِ وَحَفَفْتَہٗ بِجِبْرَئِیْلَ وَمِیْكَائِیْلَ وَالْمُسَوِّ مِیْنَ مِنْ مَلٰٓئِكَتِكَ وَوَعَدْتَہٗ اَنْ تُظْھِرَ دِیْنَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیْنِ كُلِّہٖ وَلَوْكَرِہَ الْمُشْرِكُوْنَ وَذٰلِكَ بَعْدَ اَنْ بَوَّئْتَہٗ مُبَوَّءَ صِدْقٍ مِّنْ اَھْلِہٖ وَجَعَلْتَ لَہٗ وَلَھُمْ اَوَّلَ بَیْتٍ وُّضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِیْ بِبَكَّۃَ مُبَارَكًا وَّھُدًی لِّلْعَالَمِیْنَ فِیْہِ اٰیَاتٌ بَیِّنَاتٌ مَقَامُ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَمَنْ دَخَلَہٗ كَانَ اٰمِنًا۔ - Transliteration: SUMMA NASARTAHU BIR ROA’-BE WA HAFAFTAHU BE-JABRA-EELA WA MEEKAA-EELA WAL MOSAWWEMEENA MIN MALAAA-EKATEKA WA WA-AZTAHU AN TUZHERA DEENAHU A’LAD DEENE KULLEHI WA LAW-KAREHAL MUSHREKOONA WA ZAALEKA BA’-DA AN BAWWA-TAHU MOBAWWA-A SIDQIN MIN AHLEHI WA JA-A’LTA LAHU WA LAHUM AWWALA BAYTIN WOZE-A’ LIN-NAASE LAL-LAZEE BE-BAKKATA MOBAARAKAN WA HODAL LIL A’ALAMEENA FEEHE AAYAATUN BAYYENAATUN MAQAAMO IBRAAHEEMA WA MAN DAKHALAHU KAANA AAMENAN. - English: Then invested him with awe and majesty, Jibraeel, Meekaaeel, and distinguished Angels stood around; him at his beck and call, gave Thy word to him that Thou would make his religion prevail over all religions, however much the idolaters may be averse. Thereafter acknowledged his atonement and provided good and perfection for his children, allotted for him and his children the first sanctuary appointed for mankind, at Becca (Mecca), a blessed place, a guidance to the people, wherein are plain and clear signs; the place where Ibrahim stood up to pray, and whosoever enters it is safe. - Urdu: پھر ان کو دبدبہ عطا کیا اور ان کے گرد جبرائیلؑ و میکائیلؑ اور نشان زدہ فرشتوں کوجمع فرمایا ان سے وعدہ کیا کہ آپ کا دین تمام ادیان پر غالب آئے گا اگرچہ مشرک دل تنگ ہوں اور یہ اس وقت ہوا جب ہجرت کے بعد تو نے ان کے خاندان کوسچائی کے مقام پر جگہ دی اور ان کے اور ان کے ساتھیوں کے لئے قبلہ بنایا پہلا گھر جو مکہ میں بنا یا گیا جو جہانوں کے لئے برکت و ہدایت کا مرکز ہے اس میں واضح نشانیاں اور مقام ِابراہیمؑ ہے جو اس گھر میں داخل ہوا اسے امان مل گئی۔ - Arabic: وَقُلْتَ اِنَّمَا یُرِیْدُ اللہُ لِیُذْھِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ اَھْلَ الْبَیْتِ وَیُطَھِّرَكُمْ تَطْھِیْرًا ثُمَّ جَعَلْتَ اَجْرَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ۔ مَوَدَّتَھُمْ فِیْ كِتَابِكَ فَقُلْتَ قُلْ لَا اَسْئَلُكُمْ عَلَیْہِ اَجْرًا اِلَّا الْمَوَدَّۃَ فِی الْقُرْبٰی وَقُلْتَ مَا سَئَلْتُكُمْ مِنْ اَجْرٍ فَھُوَ لَكُمْ وَ قُلْتَ مَا اَسْئَلُكُمْ عَلَیْہِ مِنْ اَجْرٍ اِلَّا مَنْ شَآءَاَنْ یَّتَّخِذَ اِلٰی رَبِّہٖ سَبِیْلًا۔ - Transliteration: WA QULTA INNAMAA YOREEDULLAAHO LE-YUZHEBA A’NKOMUR RIJSA AHLAL BAYTE WA YOTAHHERAKUM TATHEERAA SUMMA JA-A’LTA AJRA MOHAMMADIN SALAWAATOKA A’LAYHE WA AALEHI MAWADDATAHUM FEE KETAABEKA FA-QULTA QUL LAA AS-ALOKUM A’LAYHE AJRAN ILLAL MAWADDATA FIL QURBAA WA QULTA MAA SA-ALTOKUM MIN AJRIN FAHOWA LAKUM WA QULTA MAA AS-ALOKUM A’LAYHE MIN AJRIN ILLAA MAN SHAAA-A AYN YATTAKHEZA ELAA RABBEHI SABEELAN. - English: Thou said: \’Allah’s wish is but to remove uncleanness far from you, O \’People of the House\’, and purify you with a thorough purification.\’ Thereupon Thou settled conclusively fee (recompense) of Muhammad (Thy blessings be on him and on his children) love for them, in Thy Holy Book. So Thou said: \’Say (O Muhammad): I ask of you no fee (recompense) therefore, save love of (my) Kinsfolk.\’ And Thou said: \’Whatever recompense (return) I have asked for you, (it) is only for yourselves.\’ And Thou said: \’I ask of you no reward for this, save that, whoso will, chooses a way unto his Lord.\’ - Urdu: نیز تو نے فرمایا: ضرور خدا نے ارادہ کر لیا ہے کہ تم سے برائی کو دور کر دے اے اہل بیتؑ اور تمہیں پاک رکھے جس طرح پاک رکھنے کا حق ہے محمدؐ پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر تیری رحمتیں ہوں تو نے اہل بیتؑ کی محبت کوقرآن میں ان کا اجررسالت قرار دیا پس تو نے فرمایا :کہہ دیں کہ میں تم سے اجر ِرسالت نہیں مانگتا مگر یہ کہ میرے اقربا سے محبت کرو اور تو نے کہا :جو اجر میں نے تم سے مانگا ہے وہ تمہارے فائدے میں ہے نیز تو نے فرمایا: میں نے تم سے اجر ِرسالت نہیں مانگا سوائے اس کے کہ یہ راہ اس کے لئے جو خدا تک پہنچنا چاہے۔ - Arabic: فَكَانُوْا ھُمُ السَّبِیْلَ اِلَیْكَ وَالْمَسْلَكَ اِلٰی رِضْوَانِكَ فَلَمَّا انْقَضَتْ اَیَّامُہٗ اَقَامَ وَلِیَّہٗ عَلِیَّ بْنَ اَبِیْ طَالِبٍ صَلَوٰتُكَ عَلَیْھِمَا وَاٰلِھِمَا ھَادِیًا اِذْ كَانَ ھُوَ الْمُنْذِرُ وَلِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ ھَادٍ فَقَالَ وَالْمَلَا اَمَامَہٗ مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاہُ فَعَلِیٌّ مَوْلَاہُ۔ - Transliteration: FA-KAANOO HOMUS SABEELA ELAYKA WAL MASLAKA ELAA RIZWAANEKA FALAMMAN QAZAT AYYAAMOHU AQAAMA WALIYYAHU A’LIYYABNA ABEE TAALEBIN SALAWAATOKA A’LAYHEMAA WA AALEHEMAA HAADEYAN IZ KAANA HOWAL MUNZERA WA LE-KULLE QAWMIN HAADIN FA-QAALA WAL MALA-O AMAAMAHU MAN KUNTO MAWLAAHO FA-A’LIYYUN MAWLAAHO. - English: Therefore they are the (only) means to (approach) Thee, the (only) medium to get Thy favours. So Thou certainly did not let his hard work go waste, and gave authority to his successor, Ali ibne Abi Taalib, (Thy blessings be on them both, and on this children), a guide. At the time when he was made a warner and a guide for every people, said he (the Holy Prophet), their Guide, in a public meeting overflowing with people; \’Of Whomsoever I am the Mawla (Lord, Master) Ali is his Mawla. - Urdu: پس اہل بیتؑ تیرا مقرر کردہ راستہ اور تیری خوشنودی کے حصول کا ذریعہ ہیں ہاں جب محمدؐ رسول اللہ کا وقت پورا ہو گیا تو ان کی جگہ علیؑ ابن ابی طالبؑ نے لے لی ان دونوں پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر تیری رحمتیں ہوں علیؑ رہبر ہیں جب کہ محمدؐ ڈرانے والے اور ہر قوم کے لئے رہبر ہے پس آپ نے جماعت صحابہ سے فرمایا کہ جس کا میں مولا ہوں پس علیؑ بھی اس کے مولا ہیں۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰھُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاہُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاہُ وَانْصُرْ مَنْ نَصَرَہٗ وَاخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَہٗ وَقَالَ مَنْ كُنْتُ اَنَا نَبِیَّہٗ فَعَلِیٌّ اَمِیْرُہٗ وَقَالَ اَنَا وَعَلِیٌّ مِّنْ شَجَرَۃٍ وَّاْحِدَۃٍ وَّسَایَرُ النَّاسِ مِنْ شَجَرَۃٍ شَتّٰی وَاَحَلَّہٗ مَحَلَّ ھَارُوْنَ مِنْ مُوْسٰی فَقَالَ لَہٗ اَنْتَ مِنِّیْ بِمَنْزِلَۃِ ھَارُوْنَ مِنْ مُوْسٰی اِلَّا اَنَّہٗ لَا نَبِیَّ بَعْدِیْ۔ - Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA WAALE MAN WAALAAHO WA A’ADE MAN A’ADAAHO WAN-SUR MAN NASARAHU WAKH-ZUL MAN KHAZALAHU WA QAALA MAN KUNTO ANAA NABIYYAHU FA-A’LIYYUN AMEEROHU WA QAALA ANAA WA A’LYYUN MIN SHAJARATIN WAAHEDATIN WA SAA-IRUN NAASO MIN SHAJARIN SHATTAA WA AHALLAHU MAHALLA HAAROONA MIN MOOSAA FA QAALA LAHU ANTA MINNEE BE-MANZELATE HAAROONA MIN MOOSAA ILLAA ANNAHU LAA NABIYYA BA’-DEE. - English: O Allah! be a friend of him who is a friend of him, be an enemy of him who is an enemy of him, help that man who helps him, forsake that man who forsakes him’ and said: ’Of whosoever I am the Prophet Ali is his Chief.’ And said: ’I and Ali are (one basic root of) a tree, and the rest of mankind are like diverse plants, he proclaims the position (relationship) of Haaroon to Moosa.’ Therefore he told him: ’I am to you as Moosa was to Haaroon, but certainly there is no Prophet after me.’ - Urdu: اے معبود! اس سے محبت کر جو اس سے محبت کرے اس سے دشمنی کرجو اس سے دشمنی کرے اس کی مدد کر جو اس کی مدد کرے اس کوذلیل وخوار کر جو اسے چھوڑے نیز فرمایا کہ جس کا میں نبی ؐ ہوں علیؑ اس کا امیر و حاکم ہے اور فرمایا :میں اور علیؑ ایک درخت سے ہیں اور دوسرے لوگ مختلف درختوں سے پیدا ہوئے ہیں اور علیؑ کو اپنا جانشین بنایا جیسے ہارونؑ موسیٰؑ کے جانشین ہوئے پس فرمایا:اے علیؑ!تم میری نسبت وہی مقام رکھتے ہو جو ہارونؑ کو موسیٰؑ کی نسبت تھا مگر میرے بعد کوئی نبی نہیں۔ - Arabic: وَزَوَّجَہُ ابْنَتَہٗ سَیِّدَۃَ نِسَآءِ الْعَالَمِیْنَ وَاَحَلَّ لَہٗ مِنْ مَسْجِدِہٖ مَا حَلَّ لَہٗ وَسَدَّ الْاَبْوَابَ اِلَّا بَابَہٗ ثُمَّ اَوْدَعَہٗ عِلْمَہٗ وَحِكْمَتَہٗ فَقَالَ اَنَا مَدِیْنَۃُ الْعِلْمِ وَعَلِیٌّ بَابُھَا فَمَنْ اَرَادَ الْمَدِیْنَۃَ وَالْحِكْمَۃَ فَلْیَاْتِھَا مِنْ بَابِھَا۔ - Transliteration: WA ZAWWAJAHUB-NATAHU SAYYEDATA NESAAA-IL A’ALAMEENA WA AHALLA LAHU MIN MASJEDEHI MAA HALLA LAHU WA SADDAL ABWAABA ILLAA BAABAHU SUMMA AWDA-A’HU I’LMAHU WA HIKMATAHU FA-QAALA ANAA MADEENATUL I’LME WA A’LIYYUN BAABOHAA FAMAN ARAADAL MADEENATA WAL HIKMATA FALYAATEHAA MIN BAABEHAA. - English: His (Ali’s) life partner was his (Muhammad’s) daughter the chief of the women of the worlds. Lawful was for him (Ali), in \’the mosque\’, that which was permitted to him (Muhammad), all doors were closed, except his door. He (Muhammad) gave his knowledge and wisdom into his (Ali’s) keeping. He said: \’I am the city (center) of knowledge and Ali is its gate. Whoso desires to approach and dwell in the city of knowledge and wisdom should come through its door.\’ - Urdu: آپ نے علیؑ کا نکاح اپنی بیٹی دنیا کی عورتوں کی سردار سے کیا مسجد میں ان کے لئے وہ امر حلال رکھا جو آپ کے لئے تھا اور مسجد کی طرف سےسبھی دروازے بندکرائے سوائے علیؑ کے دروازے کے پھر اپنا علم و حکمت ان کے سپرد کیا تو فرمایا :میں علم کاشہر ہوں اور علیؑ اس کا دروازہ ہیں لہٰذا جو علم و حکمت کا طالب ہے وہ اس درِ علم پر آئے۔ - Arabic: ثُمَّ قَالَ اَنْتَ اَخِیْ وَوَصِیِّیْ وَوَارِثِیْ لَحْمُكَ مِنْ لَحْمِیْ وَدَمُكَ مِنْ دَمِیْ وَسِلْمُكَ سِلْمِیْ وَحَرْبُكَ حَرْبِیْ وَالْاِیْمَانُ مُخَالِطٌ لَحْمَكَ وَدَمَكَ كَمَا خَالَطَ لَحْمِیْ وَدَمِیْ وَاَنْتَ غَدًا عَلَی الْحَوْضِ خَلِیْفَتِیْ وَاَنْتَ تَقْضِیْ دَیْنِیْ وَتُنْجِزُ عِدَاتِیْ وَشِیْعَتُكَ عَلٰی مَنَابِرَ مِنْ نُوْرٍ مُّبْیَضَّۃً وُّجُوْھُھُمْ حَوْلِیْ فِی الْجَنَّۃِ وَھُمْ جِیْرَانِیْ۔ - Transliteration: SUMMA QAALA ANTA AKHEE WA WASIYYEE WA WAARESEE LAHMOKA MIN LAHMEE WA DAMOKA MIN DAMEE WA SILMOKA SILMEE WA HARBOKA HARBEE WAL EEMAANO MOKHAALETUN LAHMAKA WA DAMAKA KAMAA KHAALATA LAHMEE WA DAMEE WA ANTA GHADAN A’LAL HAWZE KHALEEFATEE WA ANTA TAQZEE DAYNEE WA TUNJEZO E’DAATEE WA SHEE-A’TOKA A’LAA MANAABERA MIN NOORIN MUBYAZZATAN WOJOOHOHUM HAWLEE FIL JANNATE WA HUM JEERAANEE. - English: Thereafter he said: \’You are my brother, successor and inheritor, your flesh is my flesh, your blood is my blood, your truce is my truce, your fight is my fight, faith is blended, mixed and mingled (part and parcel) in your flesh and blood, just as it is compounded in my flesh and blood, you shall take charge of the reservoir of my inheritance, you are the fulfilment of my religion, you shall execute and keep alive my \’way of life\’, your friends and followers shall speak with authority, command respect and hold the torch of good manners and refinements, their faces will be all around me in the eternal land of peace and bliss (Paradise), in my close company. - Urdu: نیز یہ کہا کہ اے علیؑ تم میرے بھائی جانشین اور وارث ہو تمہارا گوشت میرا گوشت تمہارا خون میرا خون تمہاری صلح میری صلح تمہاری جنگ میری جنگ ہے اور ایمان تمہاری رگوں میں شامل ہے جیسے وہ میری رگوں میں شامل ہے قیامت میں تم حوضِ کوثر پر میرے خلیفہ ہوگے تمہی میرے قرضے چکاؤ گے اور میرے وعدے نبھاؤ گے تمہارے شیعہ جنت میں چمکتے چہروں کے ساتھ نورانی تختوں پرمیرے آس پاس میرے قریب ہوں گے۔ - Arabic: وَلَوْلَا اَنْتَ یَاعَلِیُّ لَمْ یُعْرَفِ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ بَعْدِیْ وَكَانَ بَعْدَہٗ ھُدًی مِّنَ الضَّلَالِ وَنُوْرًا مِّنَ الْعَمٰی وَحَبْلَ اللہِ الْمَتِیْنَ وَصِرَاطَہُ الْمُسْتَقِیْمَ لَا یُسْبَقُ بِقِرَابَۃٍ فِیْ رَحِمٍ وَّلَا بِسَابِقَۃٍ فِیْ دِیْنٍ وَّلَا یُلْحَقُ فِیْ مَنْقَبَۃٍ مِّنْ مَنَاقِبِہٖ یَحْذُوْ حَذْوَ الرَّسُوْلِ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْھِمَا وَاٰلِھِمَا وَیُقَاتِلُ عَلَی التَّاْوِیْلِ وَلَا تَاخُذُہٗ فِی اللہِ لَوْمَۃُ لَٓائِمٍ۔ - Transliteration: WA LAW-LAA ANTA YAA A’LIYYO LAM YOA’-RAFIL MO-MINOONA BA’-DEE WA KAANA BA’-DAHU HODAN MENAZ ZALAALE WA NOORAN MENAL A’MAA WA HABLALLAAHIL MATEENA WA SERAATAHUL MUSTAQEEMA LAA YUSBAQO BEQARAABATIN FEE RAHEMIN WA LAA BE-SAABEQATIN FEE DEENIN WA LAA YULHAQO FEE MANQABATIN MIN MANAAQEBEHEE YAHZOO HAZWAR RASOOLE SALLALLAAHU A’LAYHEMAA WA AALEHEMAA WA YOQAATELO A’LAT TAAWEELE WA LAA TAA-KHOZOHU FILLAAHE LAWMATO LAAA-EMIN. - English: Were it not you O Ali, the faithfuls would not know the truth after me.\’ After him (Muhammad) be (Ali) was the guide for the wanderers, a bright light in the blind darkness, the strong rope of Allah, and the right path, did not ever hold back kindness and compassion from the common people, nor ever made excuses or delay to give priority to the matters of religion, nor blew his own trumpet nor felt proud of his glory, did the same thing the Messenger used to do, (Blessing of Allah be on them both and on their children) put an end to misinterpretation, did not lose temper, for the sake of Allah, if any one turned to mud-slinging and name-calling. - Urdu: اور اے علیؑ! اگر تم نہ ہوتے تو میرے بعد مومنوں کی پہچان نہ ہو پاتی چنانچہ وہ آپ کے بعد گمراہی سے ہدایت میں لانے والے تاریکی سے روشنی میں لانے والے خدا کا مضبوط سلسلہ اور اس کا سیدھا راستہ ہیں نہ قرابتِ پیغمبرؐ میں کوئی ان سے بڑھا ہوا تھا نہ دین میں کوئی ان سے آگے تھا ان کے علاوہ کوئی بھی اوصاف میں رسولؐ کے مانند نہ تھاعلیؑ و نبیؐ اوران کی آلؑ پر خدا کی رحمت ہو علیؑ نے تاویلِ قرآن پر جنگ کی اور خدا کے معاملے میں کسی ملامت کرنے والے کی ملامت کی پرواہ نہ کی۔ - Arabic: قَدْ وَتَرَ فِیْہِ صَنَادِیْدَ الْعَرَبِ وَقَتَلَ اَبْطَالَھُمْ وَنَاوَشَ ذُؤْبَانَھُمْ فَاَوْدَعَ قُلُوْبَھُمْ اَحْقَادًا بَدْرِیَّۃً وَّخَیْبَرِیَّۃً وَّحُنَیْنِیَّۃً وَّغَیْرَ ھُنَّ فَاَضَبَّتْ عَلٰی عَدَاوَتِہٖ وَاَكَبَّتْ عَلٰی مُنَابَذَتِہٖ حَتّٰی قَتَلَ النَّاكِثِیْنَ وَالْقَاسِطِیْنَ وَالْمَارِقِیْنَ وَلَمَّا قَضٰی نَحْبَہٗ وَقَتَلَہٗ اَشْقَی الْاٰخِرِیْنَ یَتْبَعُ اَشْقَی الْاَوَّلِیْنَ۔ - Transliteration: QAD WATARA FEEHE SANAADEEDAL A’RABE WA QATALA ABTAALAHUM WA NAAWASHA ZOA-BAANAHUM FA-AWDA-A’ QOLOOBAHUM AHQAADAN BADRIYYATAN WA KHAYBARIYYATAN WA HONAYNIYYATAN WA GHAYRA HUNNA FA-AZABBAT A’LAA A’DAAWATEHI WA AKABBAT A’LAA MONAABAZATEHI HATTAA QATALAN NAAKESEENA WAL QAASETEENA WAL MAAREQEENA WA LAMMAA QAZAA NAHBAHU WA QATALAHU ASHQAL AAKHEREENA YATBA-O’ ASHQAL AWWALEENA. - English: He had thrown the proud tribal chiefs of Arabia into a fright, destroyed their heroes, attacked and dispersed their cavalries, because of which hatred and deep grudge took root in their hearts. Badr, Khaybar, and Hunain created jealousy and envy in them, therefore, united they joined hands to oppose him, and came out in great number to fight against him, till he destroyed all deserters, who had swerved from what was right, the shameless who deviated from true religion, while he was carrying out the important mission. Killed him a malicious criminal, a contemporary, serving the interest and following the doctrine of earlier impudent villians. - Urdu: عرب سرداروں کو ہلاک کیا ان کے بہادروں کو قتل کیا اور ان کے پہلوانوں کو پچھاڑا پس عربوں کے دلوں میں کینہ بھر گیا کہ بدر، خیبر،حنین وغیرہ میں ان کے لوگ قتل ہو گئے پس وہ علیؑ کی دشمنی میں اکھٹے ہوئے اور ان کی مخالفت پر آمادہ ہو گئے چنانچہ آپؑ نے بیعت توڑنے والوں تفرقہ ڈالنے والوں اور ہٹ دھرمی کرنے والوں کو قتل کیا جب آپ کا وقت پورا ہوا تو بعد والوں میں سے بدبخت ترین نے آپ کو قتل کیااس نے پہلے والے شقی ترین کی پیروی کی۔ - Arabic: لَمْ یُمْتَثَلْ اَمْرُ رَسُوْلِ اللہِ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ فِی الْھَادِیْنَ بَعْدَ الْھَادِیْنَ وَالْاُمَّۃُ مُصِرَّۃٌ عَلٰی مَقْتِہٖ مُجْتَمِعَۃٌ عَلٰی قَطِیْعَۃِ رَحِمِہٖ وَاِقْصَآءِ وُلْدِہٖ اِلَّا الْقَلِیْلَ مِمَّنْ وَفٰی لِرِعَایَۃِ الْحَقِّ فِیْھِمْ فَقُتِلَ مَنْ قُتِلَ وَسُبِیَ مَنْ سُبِیَ وَاُقْصِیَ مَنْ اُقْصِیَ۔ - Transliteration: LAM YUMTASAL AMRO RASOOLILLAAHE SALLALLAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHEE FIL HAADEENA BA’-DAL HAADEENA WAL UMMATO MOSIRRATUN A’LAA MAQTEHI MUJTAME-A’TUN A’LAA QATEE-A’TE RAHEMEHI WA IQSAA-E WULDEHEE ILLAL QALEELA MIMMAN WAFAA LE-RE-A’A-YATIL HAQQE FEEHIM FA-QOTELA MAN QOTELA WA SOBEYA MAN SOBEYA WA UQSEYA MAN UQSEYA. - English: An unparalleled and outlandish approach was applied to the directions of the Messenger of Allah, (Blessings of Allah be on him and on his children), concerning the \’Guides\’ (Imams), one after the other. The narrow-minded obstinate \’ummah\’ did not care for and had ill-feelings towards him. Flocked together to pass up and deny his connection with his family, and pushed his children out of their way, but a handful of sincere faithfuls kept their promise and dutifully upheld the rights of his children; Some were slain, some were held prisoners, some were sent to distant foreign lands, and they met face to face (when came upon) their destiny (martyrdom). - Urdu: رسول اللہ ؐ کا فرمان پورا نہ ہوا جب کہ ایک رہبرکے بعد دوسرا رہبر آتا رہا اور امت اس کی دشمنی پر شدت سے کمر بستہ ہو کر اس پر ظلم ڈھاتی رہی اور اس کی اولاد کو پریشان کرتی رہی مگر تھوڑے سے لوگ وفادار تھے اور ان کاحق پہچانتے تھے پس ان میں سے کچھ قتل ہوگئے کچھ قید میں ڈالے گئے اور کچھ بے وطن ہوئے ان پر قضا وارد ہو گئی جس پروہ بہترین اجر کے امیدوار ہوئے۔ - Arabic: وَجَرَی الْقَضَآءُ لَھُمْ بِمَا یُرْجٰی لَہٗ حُسْنُ الْمَثُوْبَۃِ اِذْ كَانَتِ الْاَرْضُ لِلہِ یُوْرِثُھَا مَنْ یَّشَآء مِنْ عِبَادِہٖ وَالْعَاقِبَۃُ لِلْمُتَّقِیْنَ وَسُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا اِنْ كَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُوْلًا وَّلَنْ یُّخْلِفَ اللہُ وَعْدَہٗ وَھُوَ الْعَزِیْزُ الْحَكِیْمُ فَعَلَی الْاَطَآئِبِ مِنْ اَھْلِ بَیْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلِیٍّ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْھِمَا وَاٰلِھِمَا۔ - Transliteration: WA JARAL QAZAAA-O LAHUM BEMAA YURJAA LAHU HUSNUL MASOOBATE IZ KAANATIL ARZO LILLAAHE YOORESOHAA MAN YASHAAA-O MIN E’BAADEHI WAL A’AQEBATO LIL-MUTTAQEENA WA SUBHAANA RABBENAA IN KAANA WA’DO RABBENAA LA MAFOOLAN WA LAYN YUKHLEFALLAAHO WA’-DAHU WA HOWAL A’ZEEZUL HAKEEMO FA-A’LAL ATAA-EBE MIN AHLE BAYTE MOHAMMADIN WA A’LIYYIN SALLALLAAHO A’LAYHEMAA WA AALEHEMAA. - English: That which is given to each (of them) as reward of good deeds is the best recompense, since the earth belongs to Allah, and He gives it for an inheritance to whom He wants from among His servants, and the (good) end is for the God-fearing wise; glory to our Lord! Verily the promise of our Lord must be fulfilled; Allah does not break His word, He is Almighty, Wise. So be purified and refined by making known and remembering the choicest children of Muhammad and Ali, blessings of Allah be on them both, and on their children. - Urdu: کیوں کہ زمین خدا کی ملکیت ہے وہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جسے چاہے اس کا وارث بناتا ہے اور انجام کار پرہیزگاروں کے لئے ہے اور پاک ہے ہمارا رب کہ ہمارے رب کا وعدہ پورا ہو کر رہتا ہے ہاں خدا اپنے وعدے کے خلاف نہیں کرتا وہ زبر دست ہے حکمت والا پس حضرت محمدؐو حضرت علیؑ کہ ان دونوں پر خدا کی رحمت ہو ان کے خاندان پر۔ - Arabic: فَلْیَبْكِ الْبَاكُوْنَ وَاِیَّاھُمْ فَلْیَنْدُبِ النَّادِبُوْنَ وَلِمِثْلِھِمْ فَلْتَذْرِفِ الدُّمُوْعُ وَلْیَصْرُخِ الصَّارِخُوْنَ وَیَضِجَّ الضَّآجُّوْنَ وَیَعِجَّ الْعَآجُّوْنَ اَیْنَ الْحَسَنُ اَیْنَ الْحُسَیْنُ اَیْنَ اَبْنَآءُ الْحُسَیْنِ صَالِحٌ بَعْدَ صَالِحٍ وَّصَادِقٌ بَعْدَ صَادِقٍ۔ - Transliteration: FAL-YABKIL BAAKOONA WA IYYAAHUM FAL-YANDOBIN NAADEBOONA WA LE-MISLEHIM FAL-TUZ-RAFID DOMOO-O’ WAL YASROKHIS SAAREKHOONA WA YAZIJJAZ ZAAAJJOONA WA YA-I’JJAL A’AAJJOONA AYNAL HASANO AYNAL HUSAYNO AYNA ABNAAA-UL HUSAYNE SAALEHUN BA’-DA SAALEHIN WA SAADEQUN BA’-DA SAADEQIN. - English: The heartbroken, in tears, make their hearts bleed, together with them, the deeply moved perceptive men of letters describe their wisdom and liberality, as they themselves used to do, eyes of sensitive and thoughtful people are full of overflowing tears, their voices choked up with emotion; they cry out to protest against the injustice done, they call up dumb and insensate souls to stir and take notice. Where is Hasan? Where is Hussain? Where are the children of Hussain? The whole good, one and all! The truth altogether! - Urdu: ان پر رونے والوں کو رونا چاہیے چنانچہ ان پر اور ان جیسوں پر دھاڑیں مار کر رونا چاہیے پس ان کے لئے آنسو بہائے جائیں رونے والے چیخ چیخ کر روئیں نالہ و فریاد بلند کریں اور اونچی آوازوں میں رو کر کہیں کہاں ہیں حسنؑ؟ کہاں ہیں حسینؑ؟ کہاں گئے فرزندان ِحسینؑ ؟ایک نیک کردار کے بعد دوسرا نیک کردار ایک سچے کے بعد دوسرا سچا۔ - Arabic: اَیْنَ السَّبِیْلُ بَعْدَ السَّبِیْلِ اَیْنَ الْخِیَرَۃُ بَعْدَ الْخِیَرَۃِ اَیْنَ الشُّمُوْسُ الطَّالِعَۃُ اَیْنَ الْاَقْمَارُ الْمُنِیْرَۃُ اَیْنَ الْاَنْجُمُ الزَّاھِرَۃُ اَیْنَ اَعْلَامُ الدِّیْنِ وَقَوَاعِدُ الْعِلْمِ اَیْنَ بَقِیَّۃُ اللہِ الَّتِیْ لَا تَخْلُوْ مِنَ الْعِتْرَۃِ الْھَادِیَۃِ۔ - Transliteration: AYNAS SABEELO BA’-DAS SABEELE AYNAL KHEYARATO BA’-DAL KHEYARATE AYNASH SHOMOOSUT TAALE-O AYNAL AQMAARUL MONEERATO AYNAL ANJOMUZ ZAAHERATO AYNA AA’-LAAMUD DEENE WA QAWAA-E’DUL I’LME AYNA BAQIYYATULLAAHIL LATEE LAA TAKHLOO MENAL I’TRATIL HAADEYATE. - English: Where is the regular unbroken vital connection? Where is the on going sequence of desirable goodness? Where are the clear source and spring of Light (vision and insight)? Where are the lively vivid handsome faces? Where are the distinctly visible pioneers? Where are the \’know all the answers\’ scholars who communicated and made clear the religion of Allah? The fundamentals of knowledge and wisdom! Where is the ‘Everlasting legacy of God\’? (never ever is the \’family of Guides\’ without One). - Urdu: کہاں گئے جو ایک کے بعد ایک راہِ حق کے رہبر تھے؟ کہاں گئے جو اپنے وقت میں خدا کے برگزیدہ تھے؟ کدھر گئے وہ چمکتے سورج ؟کیا ہوئے وہ دمکتے چاند؟ کہاں گئے وہ جھلملاتے ستارے؟ کدھر گئے وہ دین کے نشان اور علم کے ستون؟ کہاں ہے خدا کا آخری نمائندہ جو رہبروں کے اس خاندان سے باہر نہیں۔ - Arabic: اَیْنَ الْمُعَدُّ لِقَطْعِ دَابِرِ الظَّلَمَۃِ اَیْنَ الْمُنْتَظَرُ لِاِقَامَۃِ الْاَمْتِ وَالْعِوَجِ اَیْنَ الْمُرْتَجٰی لِاِزَالَۃِ الْجَوْرِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ اَیْنَ الْمُدَّخَرُ لِتَجْدِیْدِ الْفَرَآئِضِ وَالسُّنَنِ اَیْنَ الْمُتَخَیَّرُ لِاِعَادَۃِ الْمِلَّۃِ وَالشَّرِیْعَۃِ اَیْنَ الْمُؤَمَّلُ لِاِحْیَآءِ الْكِتَابِ وَحُدُوْدِہٖ۔ - Transliteration: AYNAL MO-A’DDO LE-QAT-E’ DAABERIZ ZALAMATE AYNAL MUNTAZARO LE-EQAAMATIL AMTE WAL I’WAJE AYNAL MURTAJAA LE-EZAALATIL JAWRE WAL U’DWAANE AYNAL MUDDAKHARO LE-TAJDEEDIL FARAA-EZE WAS SONANE AYNAL MOTAKHAYYARO LE-E-A’ADATIL MILLATE WASH SHAREE-A’T AYNAL MO-AMMALO LE-EHYAAA-IL KETAABE WA HODOODEHI. - English: Where is the impenetrable defense who broke the back of the oppressive tyrants? Where is the \’awaited saviour\’ who will set the have-nots and the depressed on their feet? Where is the \’The Hope\’ who will put and end to tyranny and oppression? Where is the \’preserved guaranty\’ who shall give new life to rule of law and refined way of life? Where is the \’Chosen in preference good\’ who shall raise the spirits of the people and give currency to justice and fairplay? Where is the \’hope-giving confidante\’ who shall make full use of the \’Book\’ and define the sphere of action? - Urdu: کہاں ہے وہ جو ظالموں کی جڑیں کاٹنےکے لئے آمادہ ہے؟کہاں ہے وہ جو انتظار میں ہے کہ کج کو سیدھا اور نا درست کو درست کرے؟ کہاں ہے وہ امیدگاہ جو ظلم و ستم کو مٹانے والا ہے؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو فرائض اور سنن کو زندہ کرنے والا امامؑ ہے؟کہاں ہے وہ جو ملت اور شریعت کو سیدھاکرنے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جس کے ذریعے قرآن اور اس کے احکام کے زندہ ہونے کی توقع ہے؟ - Arabic: اَیْنَ مُحْیِیْ مَعَالِمِ الدِّیْنِ وَاَھْلِہٖ اَیْنَ قَاصِمُ شَوْكَۃِ الْمُعْتَدِیْنَ اَیْنَ ھَادِمُ اَبْنِیَۃِ الشِّرْكِ وَالنِّفَاقِ اَیْنَ مُبِیْدُ اَھْلِ الْفُسُوْقِ وَالْعِصْیَانِ وَالطُّغْیَانِ اَیْنَ حَاصِدُ فُرُوْعِ الْغَیِّ وَالشِّقَاقِ اَیْنَ طَامِسُ اٰثَارِ الزَّیْغِ وَالْاَھْوَآءِ۔ - Transliteration: AYNA MOHYEE MA-A’ALEMID DEENE WA AHLEHI AYNA QAASEMO SHAWKATIL MOA’-TADEENA AYNA HAADEMO ABNIYYATISH SHIRKE WAN NEFAAQE AYNA MOBEDO AHLIL FOSOOQE WAL I’SYAANE WAT TUGH-YAANE AYNA HAASEDO FUROO-I’L GHAYYE WASH SHEQAAQE AYNA TAAMESO AASAARIZ ZAYGHE WAL AHWAAA-E. - English: Where is he who shall blot out dogma in the matter of religion and his (Muhammad’s) children? Where is he who shall break up meddlesome trouble and tampering? Where is he who shall pull down the foundations of confusion (polytheists) and hypocrisy? Where is he who shall stamp out corruption, vice, reaction and injustice? Where is he who shall trim the outgrowth of despair, longing and hardships? Where is he who shall erase the traces of unfairness and self-seeking conceit? - Urdu: کہاں ہے وہ جو دین اور اہلِ دین کے طریقے روشن کرنے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو ظالموں کا زور توڑنے والا ؟کہاں ہے وہ جو شرک و نفاق کی بنیادیں ڈھانے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو بدکاروں نافرمانوں اور سرکشوں کو تباہ کرنے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو گمراہی اور تفرقے کی شاخیں کاٹنے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو کج دلی و نفس پرستی کے داغ مٹانے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو جھوٹ اور بہتان کی رگیں کاٹنے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو سرکشوں اور مغروروں کو تباہ کرنے والا؟ - Arabic: اَیْنَ قَاطِعُ حَبَآئِلِ الْكِذْبِ وَالْاِفْتِرَآءِ اَیْنَ مُبِیْدُ الْعُتَاۃِ وَالْمَرَدَۃِ اَیْنَ مُسْتَاْصِلُ اَھْلِ الْعِنَادِ وَالتَّضْلِیْلِ وَالْاِلْحَادِ اَیْنَ مُعِزُّ الْاَوْلِیَآءِ وَمُذِلُّ الْاَعْدَآءِ اَیْنَ جَامِعُ الْكَلِمَۃِ عَلَی التَّقْوٰی اَیْنَ بَابُ اللہِ الَّذِیْ مِنْہُ یُؤْتٰی۔ - Transliteration: AYNA QAATE-O’ HABAAA ELIL KIZBE WAL IFTERAAA-E AYNA MOBEEDUL O’TAATE WAL MARADATE AYNA MUSTAA-SELU AHLIL E’NAADE WAT TAZLEELE WAL ILHAADE AYNA MO-I’ZZUL AWLEYAAA-E WA MOZILLUL AA’-DAA-E AYNA JAAME-U’L KALEMATE A’LAT TAQWAA AYNA BAABULLAAHIL LAZEE MINHO YOATAA. - English: Where is he who shall untie the twisted knots of falsehood and disruption? Where is he who shall separate senselessness and insolence from the people? Where is he who shall tear up by the roots obstinacy, corruption and apostasy? Where is he who shall love dearly the favourites of Allah and take pains to tame and train the trangressors? Where is he who shall make people familiar with \’words of wisdom\’? Where is the ultimate (Divine) source of plenty and prosperity? - Urdu: کہاں ہے وہ جو دشمنوں،گمراہ کرنے والوں اور بے دینوں کی جڑیں اکھاڑنے والا ؟کہاں ہے وہ جو دوستوں کو باعزت اور دشمنوں کو ذلیل کرنے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو سب کو تقویٰ پر جمع کرنے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو خدا کا دروازہ جس سے وارد ہوں؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو مظہرِ خدا کہ جس کی طرف محب متوجہ ہوں؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو زمین و آسمان کے پیوست رہنے کا وسیلہ؟ - Arabic: اَیْنَ وَجْہُ اللہِ الَّذِیْ اِلَیْہِ یَتَوَجَّہُ الْاَوْلِیَآءِ اَیْنَ السَّبَبُ الْمُتَّصِلُ بَیْنَ الْاَرْضِ وَالسَّمَآءِ اَیْنَ صَاحِبُ یَوْمِ الْفَتْحِ وَنَاشِرُ رَایَۃِ الْھُدٰی اَیْنَ مُؤَلِّفُ شَمْلِ الصَّلَاحِ وَالرِّضَا اَیْنَ الطَّالِبُ بِذُحُوْلِ الْاَنْبِیَآءِ وَاَبْنَآءِ الْاَنْبِیَآءِ اَیْنَ الطَّالِبُ بِدَمِ الْمَقْتُوْلِ بِكَرْبَلَآءَ۔ - Transliteration: AYNA WAJHULLAAHIL LAZEE ELAYHE YATAWAJJAHUL AWLEYAAA-O AYNAS SABABUL MUTASSELO BAYNAL ARZE WAS SAMAAA-E AYNA SAAHEBO YAWMIL FATHE WA NAASHERO RAAYATIL HODAA AYNA MO-ALLEFO SHAMLIS SALAAHE WAR REZAA AYNAT TAALEBO BE-ZOHOOLIL AMBEYAAA-E WA ABNAAA-IL AMBEYAAA-E AYNAT TAALEBO BE-DAMIL MAQTOOLE BE-KARBALAA-A. - English: Where is the \’Divine aspect\’ the God-fearing may look up to? Where is the link that connects the cosmic complex? Where is the authority who shall communicate and make known the true point of view? Where is the author of the conception of peace, fairplay and welfare? Where is the defender of the traditions of the Prophets and their children? Where is the investigator of the blood of the Martyrs of Karbalaa? - Urdu: کہاں ہے وہ جو یوم ِفتح کا حکمران اور ہدایت کا پرچم لہرانے والا ؟کہاں ہے جو وہ نیکی و خوشنودی کا لباس پہننے والا؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو نبیوں کے خون اور نبیوں کی اولاد کے خون کا دعوے دار ؟کہاں ہے وہ جو کربلا کے مقتول حسینؑ کے خون کا مدعی؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو اس پر غالب ہے جس نے زیادتی کی اور جھوٹ باندھا وہ پریشان کہ جب دعا مانگے قبول ہوتی ہے؟ - Arabic: اَیْنَ الْمَنْصُوْرُ عَلٰی مَنِ اعْتَدٰی عَلَیْہِ وَافْتَرٰی اَیْنَ الْمُضْطَرُّ الَّذِیْ یُجَابُ اِذَا دَعَا اَیْنَ صَدْرُ الْخَلَائِقِ ذُوالْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوٰی اَیْنَ ابْنُ النَّبِیِّ الْمُصْطَفٰی وَابْنُ عَلِیِّ الْمُرْتَضٰی وَابْنُ خَدِیْجَۃَ الْغَرَّآءِ وَابْنُ فَاطِمَۃَ الْكُبْرَی بِاَبِیْ اَنْتَ وَ اُمِّیْ وَنَفْسِیْ لَكَ الْوِقَآءُ وَالْحِمٰی۔ - Transliteration: AYNAL MANSOORO A’LAA MANEA’-TADAA A’LAYHE WAF-TARAA AYNAL MUZTARRUL LAZEE YOJAABO EZAA DA-A’A AYNA SADRUL KHALAAA-EQE ZUL BIRRE WAT TAQWAA AYNABNUN NABIYYENIL MUSTAFAA WABNO A’LIYYENIL MURTA-ZAA WABNO KHADEEJATAL GHARRAAA-E WABNO FAATEMATAL KUBRAA BE-ABEE ANTA WA UMMEE WA NAFSEE LAKAL WEQAAA-O WAL HEMAA. - English: Where is he who shall get the upper hand over the perpetrators of crime and greed? Where is he who shall not rest until he answers the cries of help when called upon? Where is the foremost leader of the people, the just, the truthful and the wise? Where is the son of the chosen Prophet? The son of Ali Al-Murtaza! The son of Khadijah, the resplendent! The son of Fatema, the great! My father, my mother, and I turn to you for protection and sanctuary. - Urdu: کہاں ہے وہ جو مخلوق کا حاکم جو نیک و پرہیز گار ہے؟ کہاں ہے وہ جو نبی مصطفیٰؐ کا فرزند علی مرتضیٰؑ کا فرزند خدیجہ پاکؑ کا فرزند اور فاطمہ کبریٰؑ کا فرزند مہدیؑ،قربان آپ پر میرے ماں باپ اور میری جان آپ کے لئے فدا ہے اے خدا کے مقرب سرداروں کے فرزند اے پاک نسل بزرگواروں کے فرزند اے ہدایت یافتہ رہبروں کے فرزند اے برگزیدہ اور خوش کردار بزرگوں کے فرزند اے پاک طبیعت سرداروں کے فرزند اے پاک بازوں پاک شدگان کے فرزند۔ - Arabic: یَابْنَ السَّادَۃِ الْمُقَرَّبِیْنَ یَابْنَ النُّجَبَآءِ الْاَكْرِمِیْنَ یَابْنَ الْھُدَاۃِ الْمَھْدِیِّیْنَ یَابْنَ الْخِیَرَۃِ الْمھَذَّبِیْنَ یَابْنَ الْغَطَارِفَۃِ الْاَنْجَبِیْنَ یَابْنَ الْاَطَآئِبِ الْمُطَھَّرِیْنَ یَابْنَ الْخَضَارِمَۃِ الْمُنْتَجَبِیْنَ یَابْنَ الْقَمَاقِمَۃِ الْاَكْرَمِیْنَ یَابْنَ الْبُدُوْرِ الْمُنِیْرَۃِ یَابْنَ السُّرُجِ الْمُضِیْئَۃِ یَابْنَ الشُّھُبِ الثَّاقِبَۃِ۔ - Transliteration: YABNAS SAADATIL MOQARRABEENA YABNAN NOJABAAA-IL AKRAMEENA YABNAL HODAATIL MAHDIYYEENA YABNAL KHIYARATIL MOHAZZABEENA YABNAL GHATAAREFATIL ANJABEENA YABNAL ATAA-EBIL MOTAHHAREENA YABNAL KHAZAAREMATIL MUNTAJABEENA YABNAL QAMAAQEMATIL AKRAMEENA YABNAL BODOORIL MONEERATE YABNAS SOROJIL MOZEEE-ATE YABNASH SHOHOBIS SAAQEBATE. - English: O son of the favourite Leaders! O Son of the distinguished nobles! O son of the rightly guided Guides! O Son of the most refined high-minded liberals! O Son of the select generous Guardians! O son of the polite and pure purifiers! O Son of the impartial judges! O Son of the openhanded hosts! O Son of the mature teachers! O Son of the brilliant fulfillers! O Son of the clear and precise arguments who penetrated deep (into the domain of mind)! - Urdu: اے پاک نسل سادات کے فرزنداے وسیع القلب عزّت داروں کے فرزند اے روشن چاندوں کے فرزند اے روشن چراغوں کے فرزند اے روشن سیاروں کے فرزند اے چمکتے ستاروں کے فرزند اے روشن راہوں کے فرزند اے بلند مرتبے والوں کے فرزنداے حاملینِ علوم کے فرزند اے واضح روشوں کے فرزند اے مذکورہ علامتوں کے فرزند اے معجز نماؤں کے فرزند اے ظاہر دلائل کے فرزند اے سیدھے راستے کے فرزند۔ - Arabic: یَابْنَ الْاَنْجُمِ الزَّاھِرَۃِ یَابْنَ السُّبُلِ الْوَاضِحَۃِ یَابْنَ الْاَعْلَامِ الْلَآئِحَۃِ یَابْنَ الْعُلُوْمِ الْكَامِلَۃِ یَابْنَ السُّنَنِ الْمَشْھُوْرَۃِ یَابْنَ الْمَعَالِمِ الْمَاْثُوْرَۃِ یَابْنَ الْمُعْجِزَاتِ الْمَوْجُوْدَۃِ یَابْنَ الدَّلَآئِلِ الْمَشْھُوْدَۃِ یَابْنَ الصِّرَاطِ الْمُسْتَقِیْمِ یَابْنَ النَّبَآءِ الْعَظِیْمِ۔ - Transliteration: YABNAL ANJOMIZ ZAAHERATE YABNAS SOBOLIL WAAZIHATE YABNAL AA’-LAAMIL LAA-EHATE YABNAL O’LOOMIL KAAMELATE YABNAS SONANIL MASH-HOORATE YABNAL MA-A’ALEMIL MAASOORATE YABNAL MOA’-JEZAATIL MAWJOODATE YABNAL DALAAA-ELIL MASH-HOODATE YABNAS SERAATIL MUSTAQEEME YABNAN NABA-IL A’ZEEME. - English: O inheritor of the made known prophesy! O inheritor of the clear preaching! O inheritor of the evident signs! O inheritor of the exact science! O inheritor of the widely sought after culture and customs! O inheritor of the milestones of glory and greatness! O inheritor of the extraordinary events! O inheritor of the reason that had been put to experiment! O inheritor of the Right Path! O inheritor of the Message that made deep impression on mankind! - Urdu: اے عظیم خبر کے فرزند اے اس ہستی کے فرزند جو خدا کے ہاں ام الکتاب میں علی اور حکیم ہے اے واضح روشن آیات کے فرزند اے ظاہر اور دلائل کے فرزند اے واضح و روشن تر دلائل کےفرزند اے کامل حجتوں کے فرزند اے بہترین نعمتوں کے فرزند اے طہ اور محکم آیتوں کے فرزند اے یاسین و ذاریات کے فرزند اے طور اور عادیات کے فرزند اے اس ہستی کے فرزند جو نزدیک ہوئے تو اس سے مل گئے۔ - Arabic: یَابْنَ مَنْ ھُوَ فِیْ اُمِّ الْكِتَابِ لَدَی اللہِ عَلِیٌّ حَكِیْمٌ یَابْنَ الْآیَاتِ وَالْبَیِّنَاتِ یَابْنَ الدَّلَآئِلِ الظَّاھِرَاتِ یَابْنَ الْبَرَاھِیْنِ الْوَاضِحَاتِ الْبَاھِرَاتِ یَابْنَ الْحُجَجِ الْبَالِغَاتِ یَابْنَ النِّعَمِ السَّابِغَاتِ یَابْنَ طٰٓہٰ وَالْمُحْكَمَاتِ یَابْنَ یٰٓس وَالذَّارِیَاتِ یَابْنَ الطُّوْرِ وَالْعَادِیَاتِ۔ - Transliteration: YABNA MAN HOWA FEE UMMIL KETAABE LADALLAAHE A’LIYYUN HAKEEMUN YABNAL AAYAATE WAL BAYYENAATE YABNAD DALAAA-ELIZ ZAAHERAATE YABNAL BARAAHEENIL WAAZEHAATIL BAAHERAATE YABNAL HOJAJIL BAALEGHAATE YABNAN NE-A’MIS SAABEGHAATE YABNA TAA-HAA WAL MOHKAMAATE YABNA YAA-SEEN WAZ ZAAREYAATE YABNAT TOORE WAL A’ADEYAATE. - English: O Son of him who is in the \’Mother of the Book\’ kept with Allah, the Highest High, the All-wise. O inheritor of the convincing proofs! O inheritor of the genuine evidence! O inheritor of the distinctly visible demonstration! O inheritor of the decisive information! O inheritor of the absolute joy and happiness! O inheritor of \’T’aa-haa\’ and clear wisdom! O inheritor of \’Yaa seen\’ and \’Zaariyaat\’ O inheritor of \’T’oor\’ and \’A’adiyaat\’. - Urdu: پس کمان کے دونوں سروں جتنے یا اس سے بھی نزدیک ہوئے علی اعلیٰ کے قریب ہو گئے اے کاش میں جانتا کہ اس دوری نے آپ کو کہاں جا ٹھہرایااور کس زمین میں اور کس خاک نے آپ کو اٹھا رکھا ہے؟ آپ مقام ِ رَضویٰ میں ہیں یا کسی اور پہاڑ پر ہیں یا وادی طویٰ میں؟ یہ مجھ پر گراں ہے کہ مخلوق کو دیکھوں اور آپ کو نہ دیکھ پاؤں نہ آپ کی آہٹ سنوں اور نہ سر گوشی۔ - Arabic: یَابْنَ مَنْ دَنٰی فَتَدَلّٰی فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَیْنِ اَوْ اَدْنٰی دُنُوًّا وَّاقْتِرَابًا مِّنَ الْعَلِیِّ الْاَعْلٰی لَیْتَ شِعْرِیْ اَیْنَ اسْتَقَرَّتْ بِكَ النَّوٰی بَلْ اَیُّ اَرْضٍ تُقِلُّكَ اَوْ ثَرٰی اَبِرَضْوَی اَوْ غَیْرِھَا اَمْ ذِیْ طُوٰی عَزِیْزٌ عَلَیَّ اَنْ اَرَی الْخَلْقَ وَلَا تُرٰی وَلَا اَسْمَعُ لَكَ حَسِیْسًا وَلَا نَجْوٰی۔ - Transliteration: YABNA MAN DANAA FATADALLAA FAKAANA QAABA QAWSAYNE AW ADNAA DONUWWAN WAQTERAABAN MENAL A’LIYYIL AA’-LAA LAYTA SHEA’REE AYNAS TAQARRAT BEKAN NAWAA BAL AYYO ARZIN TOQILLOKA AW SARAA A-BE RAZWAA AW GHAYREHAA AM ZEE TOWAA A’ZEEZUN A’LAYYA AN ARAL KHALQA WA LAA TORAA WA LAA ASMA-O’ LAKA HASEESAN WA LAA NAJWAA. - English: O Son of him who \’drew near and came down till he was two bows’ length or nearer.\’ (The Highest High came near and received him gladly). If I but knew the destination of your purposeful journey! To which isolated land did you go? Good, pleasant and satisfying? Or otherwise? Or in well guarded concealment? It breaks my heart (when) I look at all that has been created, but cannot see you, nor hear a whisper about your whereabouts, nor any secret communication! - Urdu: مجھے رنج ہے کہ آپ تنہا سختی میں پڑے ہیں میں آپ کے ساتھ نہیں ہوں اور میری آہ و زاری آپ تک نہیں پہنچ پاتی میری جان آپ پر قربان کہ آپ غائب ہیں مگر ہم سے دور نہیں میں آپ پر قربان آپ وطن سے دور ہیں لیکن ہم سے دور نہیں میں آپ پرقربان آپ ہر محب کی آرزو ہر مومن و مومنہ کی تمنا ہیں جس کے لئے وہ نالہ کرتے ہیں۔ - Arabic: عَزِیْزٌ عَلَیَّ اَنْ تُحِیْطَ بِكَ دُوْنَیِ الْبَلْوٰی وَلَا یَنَالُكَ مِنِّیْ ضَجِیْجٌ وَلَا شَكْوٰی بِنَفْسِیْ اَنْتَ مِنْ مُغَیَّبٍ لَمْ یَخْلُ مِنَّا بِنَفْسِیْ اَنْتَ مِنْ نَازِحٍ مَا نَزَحَ عَنَّا بِنَفْسِیْ اَنْتَ اُمْنِیَّۃُ شَآئِقٍ یَتَمَنّٰی مِنْ مُّؤْمِنٍ وَّمُؤْمِنَۃٍ ذَكَرٰی فَحَنَّا۔ - Transliteration: A’ZEEZUN A’LAYYA AN TOHEETA BEKA DOONAYIL BALWAA WA LAA YANAALOKA MINNEE ZAJEEJUN WA LAA SHAKWAA BE-NAFSEE ANTA MIN MOGHAYYABIN LAM YAKH-LO MINNAA BE-NAFSEE ANTA MIN NAAZEHIN MAA NAZAHA A’NNAA BE-NAFSEE ANTA UMNIYYATO SHAA-EQIN YATAMANNAA MIN MOMININ WA MOMINATIN ZIKARAA FA-HANNAA. - English: It is disheartening to know that you are attending to and watching over the disorder and confusion, and I, in the thick of violent turmoil, am far away, unable to give report of injustice. I eagerly long for you who is out of sight, but has not forsaken us. I eagerly long for you who has departed and is invisible, but is not far from us. I eagerly long for you who inspires love and deep affection, and the faithful men and women take delight in your memorable glory. So we are excited with a longing desire. - Urdu: میں قربان آپ وہ عزّت دار ہیں جن کا کوئی ثانی نہیں میں قربان آپ وہ بلند مرتبہ ہیں جن کے برابر کوئی نہیں میں قربان آپ وہ قدیمی نعمت ہیں جس کی مثل نہیں میں قربان آپ جو شرف رکھتے ہیں وہ کسی اور کو نہیں مل سکتا کب تک ہم آپ کے لئے بے چین رہیں گے اے میرے آقا ؟اور کب تک اور کس طرح آپ سے خطاب کروں اور سرگوشی کروں؟ یہ مجھ پر گراں ہے کہ سوائے آپ کے کسی سے جواب پاؤں یا باتیں سنوں۔ - Arabic: بِنَفْسِیْ اَنْتَ مِنْ عَقِیْدِ عِزٍّ لَا یُسَامٰی بِنَفْسِیْ اَنْتَ مِنْ اَثِیْلِ مَجْدٍ لَّا یُجَارٰی بِنَفْسِیْ اَنْتَ مِنْ تِلَادِ نِعَمٍ لَا تُضَاھٰی بِنَفْسِیْ اَنْتَ مِنْ نَصِیْفِ شَرَفٍ لَا یُسَاوٰی اِلٰی مَتٰی اَحَارُ فِیْكَ یَا مَوْلَايَ وَاِلٰی مَتٰی وَاَیُّ خِطَآبٍ اَصِفُ فِیْكَ وَاَیُّ نَجْوٰی۔ - Transliteration: BE-NAFSEE ANTA MIN A’QEEDE IZZIN LAA YOSAAMAA BE-NAFSEE ANTA MIN ASEELE MAJDIN LAA YOJAARAA BE-NAFSEE ANTA MIN TELAADE NE-A’MIN LAA TOZAAHAA BE-NAFSEE ANTA MIN NASEEFE SHARAFIN LAA YOSAAWAA ELAA MATAA A-HAARO FEEKA YAA MAWLAAYA WA ELAA MATAA WA AYYA KHETAABIN ASEFO FEEKA WA AYYA NAJWAA. - English: I eagerly long for you who is worthy of acceptance and lawful driving force of belief and conviction, never weary or annoyed. I eagerly long for you who is the root of praise and distinction, never can be uprooted. I eagerly long for you who is always tender, gentle and comforting, never makes one’s affairs worse instead of better. I eagerly long for you who is just and equitable beyond a trace of doubt, does not take severe action until misbehavior trespasses the limit. O Master! How long and unto what is to be directed (my) request for friendly attention concerning you? And what is the message? - Urdu: مجھ پر گراں ہے کہ میں آپ کے لئے روؤں اور لوگ آپ کو چھوڑے رہیں مجھ پر گراں ہے کہ لوگوں کی طرف سے آپ پر گزرے جوبھی گزرے توکیا کوئی ساتھی ہے جس کے ساتھ مل کر آپ کے لئے گریہ وزاری کروں؟ کیا کوئی بے تاب ہے کہ جب وہ تنہا ہو تو اس کے ہمراہ نالہ کروں؟ آیا کوئی آنکھ ہے جس کے ساتھ مل کر میری آنکھ غم کے آنسو بہائے؟ - Arabic: عَزِیْزٌ عَلَیَّ اَنْ اُجَابَ دُوْنَكَ وَاُنَاغٰی عَزِیْزٌ عَلَیَّ اَنْ اَبْكِیَكَ وَیَخْذُلَكَ الْوَرٰی عَزِیْزٌ عَلَیَّ اَنْ یَّجْرِیَ عَلَیْكَ دُوْنَھُمْ مَاجَرٰی ھَلْ مِنْ مُعِیْنٍ فَاُطِیْلَ مَعَہُ الْعَوِیْلَ وَالْبُكَآءَھَلْ مِنْ جَزُوْعٍ فَاُسَاعِدَ جَزَعَہٗ اِذَا خَلَا ھَلْ قَذِیَتْ عَیْنٌ فَسَاعَدَتْھَا عَیْنِیْ عَلَی الْقَذٰی۔ - Transliteration: A’ZEEZUN A’LAYYA AN OJAABA DOONAKA WA ONAAGHAA AZEEZUN A’LAYYA AN ABKEYAKA WA YAKHZOLAKAL WARAA AZEEZUN A’LAYYA AN YAJREYA A’LAYKA DOONAHUM MAA JARAA HAL MIN MO-E’ENIN FA-OTEELA MA-A’HUL A’WEELA WAL BOKAAA-A HAL MIN JAZOO-I’N A-OSAA-E’DA JAZA-A’HU EZAA KHALAA HAL QAZEYAT A’YNUN FASAA-A’DAT-HAA A’YNEE A’LAL QAZAA. - English: It makes me sad to get favorable reply from anyone other than you, but to be duped and cheated in the end. It casts a gloom upon me that you suffered hardships and the chicken hearted deserters left you alone. It is painful for me what took place for you from them and that which had happened. Is there a helper with whom I may cooperate and take pains? Is there a restless with whom I may share when action is taken? Is there a faint twinkle of evidence to make me willingly take up the trouble? - Urdu: اے احمد مجتبیٰؐ کے فرزند آپ کے پاس آنے کا کوئی راستہ ہے؟ کیا ہمارا آج کا دن آپ کے کل سے مل جائے گا کہ ہم خوش ہوں کب وہ وقت آئے گا کہ ہم آپ کے چشمے سے سیراب ہوں گے کب ہم آپ کے چشمۂ شیریں سے پیاس بجھائیں گے؟ اب تو پیاس طولانی ہو گئی کب ہماری صبح و شام آپ کے ساتھ گزرے گی کہ ہماری آنکھیں ٹھنڈی ہوں گی؟ کب آپ ہمیں اورہم آپ کو دیکھیں گے؟ جب کہ آپ کی فتح کا پرچم لہراتا ہو گا۔ - Arabic: ھَلْ اِلَیْكَ یَابْنَ اَحْمَدَ سَبِیْلٌ فَتُلْقٰی ھَلْ یَتَّصِلُ یَوْمُنَا مِنْكَ بِعِدَۃِ فَنَحْظٰی مَتٰی نَرِدُ مَنَاھِلَكَ الرَّوِیَّۃَ فَنَرْوٰی مَتٰی نَنْتَقِعُ مِنْ عَذْبِ مَآئِكَ فَقَدْ طَالَ الصَّدٰی مَتٰی نُغَادِیْكَ وَنُرَاوِحُكَ فَنُقِرُّ عَیْنًا مَّتٰی تَرَانَا وَنَرَاكَ وَقَدْ نَشَرْتَ لِوَآءَالنَّصْرِ تُرٰی۔ - Transliteration: HAL ELAYKA YABNA AHMADA SABEELUN FATULQAA HAL YATTASELO YAWMONAA MINKA BE-E’DATIN FA-NAHZAA MATAA NAREDOMANAAHELAKAR RAWIYYATA FA-NARWAA MATAA NANTAQE-O’ MIN A’ZBE MAAA-EKA FAQAD TAALAS SADAA MATAA NOGHAADEEKA WA NORAA-WEHOKA FA-NOQIRRO A’YNAN MATAA TARAANAA WA NARAAKA WA QAD NASHARTA LEWAAA-AN NASRE TORAA. - English: Do you O Son of Ahmed have means and ways to arrange our meeting? Can you once cleverly guide the course of time, so that we may obtain our wish? When shall we a bridge the gap that separate us from the vision so that we may refer to the authority? How long shall we keep waiting for your pleasing satisfying essence and quality? Already the period of expectation has lasted too long! When shall we receive our share from you and have our minds set at rest? For we have fixed our eyes upon you and strive with perseverance. When shall we be happy, and see your beautiful form and fine aspect? - Urdu: ہم آپ کے ارد گرد جمع ہوں گے اور آپ سبھی لوگوں کے امام ہو ں گےتب زمین آپ کے ذریعے عدل و انصاف سے پُر ہو گی آپ اپنے دشمنوں کو سختی و ذلت سے ہم کنار کریں گے آپ سرکشوں اور حق کے منکروں کو نابود کریں گے مغروروں کا زور توڑ دیں گے اور ظلم کرنے والوں کی جڑیں کاٹ دیں گے اس وقت ہم کہیں گے حمد ہے خداکے لئے جو جہانوں کا رب ہے۔ - Arabic: اَتَرَانَا نَحُفُّ بِكَ وَاَنْتَ تَئُمُّ الْمَلَاَ وَقَدْ مَلَاتَ الْاَرْضَ عَدْلًا وَاَذَقْتَ اَعْدَآئَكَ ھَوَانًا وَّعِقَابًا وَّاَبَرْتَ الْعُتَاۃَ وَجَحَدَۃِ الْحَقِّ وَقَطَعْتَ دَابِرَ الْمُتَكَبِّرِیْنَ وَاجْتَثَثْتَ اُصُوْلَ الظَّالِمِیْنَ وَنَحْنُ نَقُوْلُ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ۔ - Transliteration: A-TARAANAA NAHUFFO BEKA WA ANTA TA-UMMUL MALA-AWA QAD MALAA-TAL ARZA A’DLAN WA AZAQTA AA’-DAAA-EKA HAWAANAN WA E’QAABAN WA ABARTAL O’TAATA WA JAHADATAL HAQQE WA QATA’-TA DAABERAL MOTAKABBEREENA WAJ-TASASTA OSOOLAZ ZAALEMEENA WA NAHNO NAQOOLO AL-HAMDO LILLAAHE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA. - English: Groups of cheerful willing disciplined helpers, in great numbers, gathering around you to carry out one work after the other! You fulfilling (every promise) and giving joy, heart and confidence (to the faithfuls); filling the earth with justice; making your enemies follow the law and accept the revolution; taking the wind out of the haughty and the boastful, and those who knew but denied the truth; breaking the back of the proud and the arrogant; uprooting the roots of the unjust; and we-singing the praise of Allah, the Lord of the worlds. - Urdu: اے معبود! تو دکھوں اور مصیبتوں کو دور کرنے والا ہے میں تیرے حضور شکایت لایا ہوں کہ تو مداواومعالجہ کرتا ہے اور تو ہی دنیا و آخرت کا پروردگار ہے پس میری فریاد سن اے فریادیوں کی فریاد سننے والے اپنے اس حقیر اور دکھی بندے کو اس آقا کا دیدار کرا دے اے زبردست قوت والے ان کے واسطے سے اس کے رنج و غم کو دور فرما اور اس کی پیاس بجھا دے اے وہ ذات جو عرش پر حاوی ہے کہ جس کی طرف واپسی اور آخری ٹھکانا ہے۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰھُمَّ اَنْتَ كَشَّافُ الْكُرَبِ وَالْبَلْوٰی وَاِلَیْكَ اَسْتَعْدِیْ فَعِنْدَكَ الْعَدْوٰی وَاَنْتَ رَبُّ الْاٰخِرَۃِ وَالدُّنْیَا فَاَغِثْ یَاغِیَاثَ الْمُسْتَغِیْثِیْنَ عُبَیْدَكَ الْمُبْتَلٰی وَاَرِہٖ سَیِّدَہٗ یَاشَدِیْدَ الْقُوٰی وَاَزِلْ عَنْہُ بِہِ الْاَسٰی وَالْجَوٰی وَبَرِّدْ غَلِیْلَہٗ یَامَنْ عَلَی الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوٰی وَمَنْ اِلَیْہِ الرُّجْعٰی وَالْمُنْتَھٰی۔ - Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA ANTA KASHSHAAFUL KURBI WAL BALWAA WA ELAYKA ASTA’-DEE FA-I’NDAKAL A’DWAA WA ANTA RABBUL AAKHERATE WAD DUNYAA FA-AGHITH YAA GHEYAASAL MUSTAGHEESEENA O’BAYDAKAL MUBTALAA WA AREHEE SAYYEDAHU YAA SHADEEDAL QOWAA WA AZIL A’NHO BEHIL ASAA WAL JAWAA WA BARRID GHALEELAHU YAA MAN A’LAL A’RSHIS-TAWAA WA MAN ELAYHIR RUJ-A’A WAL MUNTAHAA. - English: O my Allah! Thou disperses the clouds of sorrows and hardships. Unto Thee we turn to ask for help against the enemy; for Thou (alone) helps and guides. Thou (alone) puts into good order affairs of this world and shall make better the Hereafter. So come to help! O He Who is called to help the helpless, Thy servants, surrounded by calamities. Show them the face of their Leader. O the Mightiest Almighty. Allow him to put an end to evil and corruption, and satisfy his Love (for the faithfuls) and dislike (for the sinners). O He Who, from the \’Arsh directs and controls all creation, and unto Him is the return, final and ultimate. - Urdu: اور اے معبود! ہم ہیں تیرے حقیر بندے جو تیرے ولی عصرؑ کے مشتاق ہیں جن کا ذکر تو نے اور تیرے نبیؐ نے کیا تو نے انہیں ہماری جائے پناہ بنایا ہمارا سہارا قرار دیا ان کو ہماری زندگی کا ذریعہ اور پناہ گاہ بنایا اور ان کو ہم میں سے مومنوں کا امام قرار دیا پس ان کو ہمارا درود و سلام پہنچا اور اے پروردگار! ان کے ذریعے ہماری عزّت میں اضافہ فرما ان کی قرار گاہ کو ہماری قرار گاہ اور ٹھکانہ بنا دے ہم پر ان کی امامت کے ذریعے ہمارے لئے اپنی نعمت پوری فرما یہاں تک کہ وہ ہمیں تیری جنت میں ان شہیدوں کے پاس لے جائیں گے جو مقرب خاص ہیں۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰھُمَّ وَنَحْنُ عَبِیْدُكَ التَّآئِقُوْنَ اِلٰی وَلِیِّكَ الْمُذَكِّرِ بِكَ وَبِنَبِیِّكَ خَلَقْتَہٗ لَنَا عِصْمَۃً وَّمَلَاذًا وَّاَقَمْتَہٗ لَنَا قِوَامًا وَّمَعَاذًا وَّجَعَلْتَہٗ لِلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ مِنَّا اِمَامًا فَبَلِّغْہُ مِنَّا تَحِیَّۃً وَّسَلَامًا وَّزِدْنًا بِذٰلِكَ یَارَبِّ اِكْرَامًا وَّاجْعَلْ مُسْتَقَرَّہٗ لَنَا مُسْتَقَرًّا وَّمُقَامًا وَّاَتْمِمْ نِعْمَتَكَ بِتَقْدِیْمِكَ اِیَّاہُ اَمَامَنَا حَتّٰی تُوْرِدَنَا جِنَانَكَ وَمُرَافَقَۃَ الشُّھَدَآءِ مِنْ خُلَصَآئِكَ۔ - Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA WA NAHNO A’BEEDOKAT TAAA-EQOONA ELAA WALIYYEKAL MOZAKKERE BEKA WA BE-NABIYYEKA KHALAQTAHU LANAA I’SMATAN WA MALAAZAA WA AQAMTAHOO LANAA QEWAAMAN WA MA-A’AZAN WA JA-A’LTAHU LIL MOMINEENA MINNAA EMAAMAN FA-BALLIGHHO MINNAA TAHIYYATAN WA SALAAMAN WA ZIDNAA BE ZAALEKA YAA RABBE IKRAAMAN WAJ-A’L MUSTAQARRAHU LANAA MUSTAQARRAN WA MOQAAMAN WA ATMIM NEA’-MATAKA BE-TAQDEEMEKA IYYAAHO AMAAMANAA HATTAA TOOREDANAA JENAANAKA WA MORAAFAQATASH SHO-HADAAA-E MIN KHOLASAAA-EKA. - English: O my Allah! We are Thy servants, longing for Thy friend (appointed authority), who reminds us of Thee, and Thy Prophet, who was created as a refuge and asylum for us, established as a foundation and spring of truthfulness for us, and was made the Leader-Guide of the faithfuls. Convey to him our heartfelt congratulations and welcome. Make us feel more deeply for him. O Lord! Very Kindly, make his headquarters our place of domicile and dwelling abode, and fulfill Thy promise by returning him to us as our Leader Guide, so that he takes us to the eternal land of peace and bliss, where we shall rub elbows with Thy sincere servants who shed blood to pronounce the Faith. - Urdu: اے معبود! محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما اور امام مہدیؑ کے نانا محمدؐ پر رحمت فرما جو تیرے رسولؐ اور عظیم سردار ہیں اور مہدیؑ کے والد پر رحمت کر جو چھوٹے سردار ہیں ان کی دادی صدیقۂ کبریٰ فاطمہؑ بنت محمدؐ پر رحمت فرما ان سب پر رحمت فرما جن کو تو نے ان کے نیک بزرگوں میں سے چنا۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّصَلِّ عَلٰی مَحَمَّدٍ جَدِّہٖ وَرَسُوْلِكَ السَّیِّدِ الْاَكْبَرِ وَعَلٰی اَبِیْہِ السَّیِّدِ الْاَصْغَرِ وَجَدَّتِہِ الصِّدِّیْقَۃِ الْكُبْرٰی فَاطِمِۃَ بِنْتِ مَحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰی مَنِ اصْطَفَیْتَ مِنْ اٰبَآئِہِ الْبَرَرَۃِ وَعَلَیْہِ اَفْضَلَ وَاَكْمَلَ وَاَتَمَّ وَاَدْوَمَ وَاَكْثَرَ وَاَوْفَرَ مَا صَلَّیْتَ عَلٰی اَحَدٍ مِّنْ اَصْفِیَآئِكَ وَخِیَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ وَصَلِّ عَلَیْہِ صَلٰوۃً لَا غَایَۃَ لِعَدَدِھَا وَلَا نِھَایَۃَ لِمَدَدِھَا وَلَا نَفَادَ لِاَمَدِھَا۔ - Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN WA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN JADDEHI WA RASOOLEKAS SAYYEDIL AKBARE WA A’LAA ABEEHIS SAYYEDIL ASGHARE WA JADDATEHIS SIDDEEQATIL KUBRAA FAATEMATA BINTE MOHAMMADIN WA A’LAA MANIS TAFAYTA MIN AABAAA-EHIL BARARATE WA A’LAYHE AFZALA WA AKMALA WA ATAMMA WA ADWAMA WA AKSARA WA AWFARA MAA SALLAYTA A’LAA AHADIN MIN ASFEYAAA-EKA WA KHEYARATEKA MIN KHALQEKA WA SALLE A’LAYHE SALAATAN LAA GHAAYATA LE-A’DADEHAA WA LAA NEHAAYATA LE-MADADEHAA WA LAA NAFAADA LE-AMADEHAA. - English: O Allah send Thy blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad. Bless his ancestor Muhammad, the Messenger, the foremost Leader, and bless his progenitor, the succeeding Leader, and his great grandmother, the ever truthful, Fatema daughter of Muhammad, and his chosen virtuous forefathers, and send blessings on him, superior, whole, conclusive, staying, numerous, and full, not ever bestowed (even) on any of Thy sincerely attached and pious friends from among Thy creation. Bless him with blessings, (that) cannot be counted in numbers, cannot be \’proximated\’ in space of time, cannot be consumed in terms of having nothing remaining. - Urdu: اور القائمؑ پر رحمت فرما بہترین کامل پوری ہمیشہ ہمیشہ بہت سی، بہت زیادہ جو رحمت کی ہو تو نے اپنے برگزیدوں میں سے کسی پر اور مخلوق میں سے اپنےپسند کردہ پر اور اس پر درود بھیج وہ درود جس کا شمار نہ ہوسکے جس کی مدت ختم نہ ہو اور جو کبھی منقطع نہ ہو۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰھُمَّ وَاَقِمْ بِہِ الْحَقَّ وَاَدْحِضْ بِہِ الْبَاطِلَ وَاَدِلْ بِہٖ اَوْلِیَآئَكَ وَاَذْلِلْ بِہٖ اَعْدَآئَكَ وَصِلِ اللّٰھُمَّ بَیْنَنَا وَبَیْنَہٗ وُصْلَۃً تُؤَدِّیْ اِلٰی مُرَافَقَۃِ سَلَفِہٖ وَاجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ یَّاخُذُ بِحُجْزَتِھِمْ وَیَمْكُثُ فِیْ ظِلِّھِمْ وَاَعِنَّا عَلٰی تَاْدِیَۃِ حُقُوْقِہٖ اِلَیْہِ وَالْاِجْتِھَادِ فِیْ طَاعَتِہٖ وَاجْتِنَابِ مَعْصِیَتِہٖ۔ - Transliteration: ALLAAHUMMA WA AQIM BEHIL HAQQA WA ADHIZ BEHIL BAATELA WA ADIL BEHEE AWLEYAAA-AKA WA AZLIL BEHEE AA’-DAAA-AKA WA SELILLAAHUMMA BAYNANAA WA BAYNAHU WUSLATAN TO-ADDEE ELAA MORAAFAQATE SALAFEHEE WAJ-A’LNAA MIMMAN YAA-KHOZO BE-HUJZATEHIM WA YAMKOSO FEE ZILLEHIM WA A-I’NNAA A’LAA TAA-DEYATE HOQOOQEHI ELAYHE WAL IJTEHAADE FEE TAA-A’TEHI WAJTENAABE MA’-SEYATEHI. - English: O my Allah! Set up truth, destroy falsehood, show the right path to Thy friends, humiliate Thy enemies, and do it without interruption, (through him). O my Allah! Unite us with him. Let us be friends with his ancestors. Give us courage to disperse those who oppose and try to prevent him, and make them stay in their shame and disgrace forever. Help us to discharge the duties made incumbent upon us by him, and make every effort to obey him, keep from that which is declared unlawful by him, rely upon him to get his approval. - Urdu: اے معبود!ان کے ذریعے حق کو قائم فرما ان کے ہاتھوں باطل کو مٹا دے ان کے وجود سے اپنے دوستوں کو عزّت دے ان کے ذریعے اپنے دشمنوں کو ذلت دےاور اے معبود! ہمیں اور ان کو اکٹھے کر دے ایسا اکٹھا کہ جو ہم کو ان کے پہلے بزرگوں تک پہنچائے اور ہمیں ان میں قرار دے جنہوں نے ان کا دامن پکڑا ہے۔ - Arabic: وَامْنُنْ عَلَیْنَا بِرِضَاہُ وَھَبْ لَنَا رَاْفَتَہٗ وَرَحْمَتَہٗ وَدُعَآئَہٗ وَخَیْرَہٗ مَا نَنَالُ بِہٖ سَعَۃً مِّنْ رَحْمَتِكَ وَفَوْزًا عِنْدَكَ وَاجْعَلْ صَلٰوتَنَا بِہٖ مَقْبُوْلَۃً وَّذُنُوْبَنَا بِہٖ مَغْفُوْرَۃً؛ وَدُعَاۗئَنَا بِهٖ مُسْتَجَابًا وَاجْعَلْ اَرْزَاقَنَا بِہٖ مَبْسُوْطَۃً وَّھُمُوْمَنَا بِہٖ مَكْفِیَّۃً وَّحَوَآئِجَنَا بِہٖ مَقْضِیَّۃً وَّاَقْبِلْ اِلَیْنَا بِوَجْھِكَ الْكَرِیْمِ وَاقْبَلْ تَقَرُّبَنَا اِلَیْكَ۔ - Transliteration: WAM-NUN A’LAYNAA BE-REZAAHO WA HAB LANAA RAA-FATAHU WA RAHMATAHU WA DO-A’AA-AHU WA KHAYRAHU MAA NANAALO BEHEE SA-A’TAN MIN RAHMATEKA WA FAWZAN I’NDAKA WAJ-A’L SALAATANAA BEHEE MAQBOOLATAN WA ZONOOBANAA BEHI MAGHFOORATAN WA DU‘AAA-A-NAA BEHI MUS-TAJAA-BAN WAJ-A’L ARZAA-QANAA BEHI MABSOO-TATAN WA HOMOOMANAA BEHI MAKFIYYATAN WA HAWAAA-EJANAA BEHI MAQZIYYATAN WA AQBIL ELAYNAA BE-WAJHEKAL KAREEME WAQ-BAL TAQARROBANAA ELAYKA. - English: Let us be with him when he makes peace, and frees mankind from fear, gives currency to love are kindness, brings bliss and happiness, spreads good and virtue, so that we may do our best to promote his cause through Thy mercy, and win victory for Thee. Accept our prayers, forgive our sins, fulfill our desires, give us means of livelihood, unrestricted, make less our hardships, meet our demands in full (through him). Turn towards us Thy kindness and loving aspects, and bring us close to Thee. - Urdu: ہمیں ان کے زیر سایہ رکھ ان کے حقوق ادا کرنے میں ہماری مدد فرما ان کی فرما ں برداری میں کوشاں بنا دےان کی نافرمانی سے بچائے رکھ ان کی خوشنودی سے ہم پر احسان کر اور ہمیں ان کی محبت عطا فرما ان کی رحمت ان کی دعا اور ان کی برکت عطا فرماجس کے ذریعے ہم تیری وسیع رحمت اور تیرے ہاں کامیابی حاصل کریں ان کے ذریعے ہماری نماز قبول فرما ان کے وسیلے ہمارے گناہ بخش دے۔ - Arabic: وَانْظُرْ اِلَیْنَا نَظْرَۃً رَحِیْمَۃً نَسْتَكْمِلُ بِھَا الْكَرَامَۃَ عِنْدَكَ ثُمَّ لَا تَصْرِفْھَا عَنَّا بِجُوْدِكَ وَاسْقِنَا مِنْ حَوْضِ جَدِّہٖ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ بِكَاسِہٖ وَبِیَدِہٖ رَیًّا رَوِیًّا ھَنِیْٓئًا سَآئِغًا لَا ظَمَاَ بَعْدَہٗ یَااَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ۔ - Transliteration: WAN-ZUR ELAYNAA NAZRATAN RAHEEMATAN NASTAKMELO BEHAL KARAAMATA I’NDAKA SUMMA LAA TASRIF-HAA A’NNAA BE-JOODEKA WAS-QENAA MIN HAWZE JADDEHI SALLALLAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI BEKAA-SEHI WA BE-YADEHI RAYYAN RAWIYYAN HANEE-AN SAAA-EGHAN LAA ZAMA-A BA’-DAHU YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA. - English: Turn the eyes of Thy mercy upon us, to bring to fullness Thy kind favours, and after that do not ever let them disappear in the name of Thy generosity, and give us the opportunity to quench our thirst from the spring of his great grandfather (Kawsar), (blessing of Allah be on him and on his children), using his cup, filled by him, fresh and pure, sufficient, wholesome, clear and cool, not leaving any desire thereafter, O the Most Merciful. - Urdu: ان کے واسطے سے ہماری دعا منظور فرما اور ان کے ذریعے سے ہماری روزیاں زیادہ کر دے ہماری پریشانیاں دور فرما اور ان کے وسیلے سے ہماری حاجات کو پورا فرما اور ہماری طرف اپنی کریم ذات کے واسطے سے توجہ کراور ہماری حاضری اپنی بارگاہ میں قبول فرما ہماری طرف مہربانی کی نظر کر ایسی نظر کہ جس سے تیری درگاہ میں ہماری عزّت بڑھ جائے پھر اپنے کرم کی وجہ سے وہ نظر ہم سے نہ ہٹا ہمیں القائمؑ کے نانا کے حوض سے سیراب فرما ان پر اور ان کی آل ؑ پر خدا کی رحمت ہو ان کے جام سے ان کے ہاتھ سے سیراب کر جس میں مزہ آئے اور پھر پیاس نہ لگے اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔ - Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔ - Transliteration: ALLAHUMMA SWALLE ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA AALE MUHAMMADIN - English: Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny. - Urdu: اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔ ### Dua-e-Sajdah after Nudba. - Arabic: اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ نَارٍ حَرُّهَا لَا يُطْفٰى وَجَدِيْدُهَا لَا يَبْلٰى وَعَطْشَانُهَا لَا يَرْوٰى۔ - Transliteration: A-OO’ZO BEKA MIN NAARIN HARRO-HAA LAA YUTFAA WA JA-DEEDO-HAA LAA YABLAA WA A’T-SHAANO-HAA LAA YARWAA. - English: I seek refuge with Thee from the Fire whose hot flames do not get extinguished or grow dim, whose energetic intensity does not loose its severity, wherein parched throats never get quenched. - Urdu: تیری پناہ حاصل کرتا ہوں دوزخ کی آگ سے جو بجھائی نہیں جا سکتی اور اس کی تازگی ماند نہیں پڑتی اور جس کی پیاس دور نہیں ہوتی۔ - Arabic: اِلٰهِيْ لَا تُقَلِّبْ وَجْهِيْ فِي النَّارِ بَعْدَ سُجُوْدِيْ وَتَعْفِيْرِيْ لَكَ بِغَيْرِ مَنٍّ مِنِّيْ عَلَيْكَ بَلْ لَكَ الْمَنُّ عَلَيَّ۔ - Transliteration: ILAAHEE LAA TO-QALLIB WAJHEE FIN NAARE BA’DA SOJOO-DEE WA TA’FEE-REE LAKA BE-GHAIRE MAN-NIN MINNEE A’LAIKA BAL LAKAL MANNO A’LAIYYA. - English: O Allah do not throw me down head on into the Fire after I have prostrated in adoration before Thee and thrown myself on the ground to humble myself before Thee; it is not a show of favour from me unto Thee but it is (Thy) merciful benevolence Thou bestows on me. - Urdu: اے معبود! میرے چہرے کو آگ میں نہ الٹ پلٹ جب کہ میں نے سجدے کیے اور تیرے لئے اسے خاک پر رگڑا ہےکہ اس میں تجھ پر میرا کوئی احسان نہیں بلکہ یہ مجھ پر تیرا احسان ہے۔ - Arabic: اِرْحَمْ مَنْ اَسَاءَ وَاقْتَرَفَ وَاسْتَكَانَ وَاعْتَرَفَ۔ - Transliteration: IRHAM MAN ASAA-A WAQ-TARAFA WAS-TAKAANA WA’TARAFA. - English: Have mercy on him who has transgressed and committed blunders, (but) now ashamed surrenders (to Thee) to receive absolution. - Urdu: رحم فرما اس پر جس نے بدی و نافرمانی کی اور وہ بے چارہ اس کا اعتراف کرتا ہے۔ - Arabic: اِنْ كُنْتُ بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ فَاَنْتَ نِعْمَ الرَّبُّ عَظُمَ الذَّنْبُ مِنْ عَبْدِكَ فَلْيَحْسُنِ الْعَفْوُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ يَا كَرِيْمُ۔ - Transliteration: IN KUNTO BESAL A’BDO FA-ANTA BE’MAR RABBO A’ZO-MAZ ZANBO MIN A’BDE-KA FAL-YAH-SO-NIL A’FWO MIN I’NDE-KA YAA KAREEMO. - English: I am a troublesome servant but Thou art the bountiful Lord-Nourisher. A great many mistakes have been committed by Thy servant but O Compassionate, from Thee (only) Lenient treatment is expected. - Urdu: اگر میں ایک برا بندہ ہوں پس تو یقینًا اچھا پروردگار ہے تیرے بندے سےبڑے بڑے گناہ ہوئے ہیں تو بھی تیری طرف سے بہترین پردہ پوشی ہی ہونی چاہیے اے مہربان۔ - Arabic: اَلْعَفْوَ اَلْعَفْوَ۔ - Transliteration: AL-A’FWA AL-A’FWA - English: (I plead for) pardon; (I plead for) pardon. - Urdu: معاف فرما، معاف فرما۔ - Arabic: وَلَا تَقْطَعْ یَوْمَکَ هٰذَا بِاللَّعْبِ وَالْاِهْمٰالِ، وَاَنْتَ لَا تَعْلَمُ اَمَرْدُوْدٌ اَمْ مَقْبُوْلُ الْاَعْمٰالِ، فَاِنْ رَجَوْتَ الْقَبُوْلَ فَقَابِلْ ذٰلِکَ بِالشُّکْرِ الْجَمِیْلِ، وَاِنْ خِفْتَ الرَّدَّ فَکُنْ اَسِیْرَ الْحُزْنِ الطَّوِیْلِ۔ - Transliteration: WALAA TAQTA’ YAW-MAKA HAAZAA BILLA’BE WAL-EH-MAALE, WA ANTA LAA TA’LAMO AMAR-DOO-DOON AM MAQBOO-LUL A’MAALE, FA-IN RAJAW-TAL QABOOLA FA-QAABIL ZAALEKA BISH-SHUK-RIL JAMEE-LE, WA IN KHIF-TAR RADDA FA-KUN ASEE-RAL HUZNIT TAWEELE. - English: And on the day of Eid do not waste your time in playing and in useless discussions, as you don’t know that your amaal (deeds) have been rejected or accepted, if you hope that your deeds are accepted than you need to do sajdah of shukr and if you are afraid that your deeds are rejected than you need to be deeply engaged in sorrow. - Urdu: اور اپنے اس روزِ عید کو کھیل کود اور بے کار باتوں میں نہ گزار کہ تجھے نہیں معلوم کہ آیا تیرے اعمال رد ہوئے یا قبول ہوئے ہیں پس اگر تجھے ان کے قبول ہونے کی امید ہے تو اس پر تجھے بہترین طریقے سے شکریہ ادا کرنا چاہیے اور اگر تجھے اعمال کے رد ہونے کا ڈر ہے تو تجھے اس پر گہرے غم میں ڈوبے رہنا چاہیے۔ --- Published by Fatima Zahra Imamia Centre, North Ipswich QLD, https://fzic.org.
