# Once again prompting after Burial

- Instruction: With the exception of moribund condition, it is recommended to prompt the dead person on two occasions: When the body is placed in the grave; in this case, it is better to grasp the right shoulder of the dead with the right hand of the prompter and the left shoulder with the left hand. Then, the prompter should move the body and say the words to be prompted. After burying; the nearest relative of the dead person should sit to the side of the head, after all others leave, and prompt the dead in a loud voice. It is better to put the two palms on the grave and approach the mouth towards it. However, there is no objection if the nearest relative deputizes another person to prompt the dead person. According to reported traditions, when a dead person is prompted these words, Munkar and Nakir (the two angels who interrogate the dead in the graves) will say, “This dead person has been prompted; therefore, there is no need to interrogate him. Let us leave.” Hence, they leave without interrogating the dead. Allamah Majlisi, may Allah have mercy upon him, says: The all-comprehensive form of prompting the dead is as follows…
- Instruction (Urdu): مؤلف کہتے ہیں: احتضار(جان کنی) کے علاوہ دو اور مقامات ہیں جہاں میّت کو تلقین کرنا مستحب ہے، ایک وہ وقت جب میّت کو قبر میں  لٹایا جائے اور بہتر یہ ہے کہ دائیں ہاتھ سے اسے اس کے داہنے شانے کو اور بائیں ہاتھ سے اس کے بائیں شانے کو پکڑ کر اسے ہلاتے ہوئے تلقین پڑھی جائے اور اس کے پڑھنے کا دوسرا وقت وہ ہے جب میّت کو دفن کر چکیں۔ چنانچہ مستحب ہے کہ میّت کا ولی یعنی سب سے قریبی رشتہ دار دوسرے لوگوں کے چلے جانے کے بعد قبر کے سرہانے بیٹھ کر بلند آواز سے تلقین پڑھے اور بہتر ہے کہ دونوں ہاتھوں کی ہتھیلیاں قبر پر رکھے اور اپنا منہ قبر کے قریب لے جا کر تلقین پڑھے، اگر کسی کو اپنا نائب بنائے تو بھی مناسب ہے۔ روایات میں  آیا ہے کہ میّت کے لیے اس وقت جو تلقین پڑھی جاتی ہے تو منکر اپنے ہمراہ نکیر سے کہتا ہے : آؤ واپس چلیں، کیوں کہ اسے اس کی حجت کی تلقین کر دی گئی ہے۔ لہٰذا اب اس سے سوال کرنے کی ضرورت نہیں رہی، چنانچہ وہ سوال نہیں کرتے اور لوٹ جاتے ہیں۔    علامہ مجلسیؒ کا ارشاد ہے :اگر تلقین اس طرح سے پڑھی جائے تو زیادہ جامع ہو گی۔۔۔
