- Instruction: Imam Reza (a) on the authority of his father (a) says: “Abu Ja’far al-Dawaaneqi (l) sent for Ja’far ibn Muhammad (a) in order to kill him. He prepared the sword and a piece of special leather (which was used to put on the floor for executing people on). al-Dawaaneqi told al-Rabee’, “Chop off his head when I clap my hands after I speak with him.” Then when Ja’far ibn Muhammad (a) entered, the Imam (a) looked at al-Dawaaneqi from a distance and the Imam’s lips were moving. Abu Ja’far (al-Dawaaneqi) was sitting in his place and was saying, ‘O Aba Abdullah! Welcome. We only sent for you to pay off your debts.’ He then gently asked about his household and added, ‘Allah (swt) has paid off your debts and has determined your reward. O Rabee’, do not do anything until Ja’far returns to his family.’ When al-Dawaaneqi left, al-Rabee’ told the Imam (a), ‘O Aba Abdullah! Did you see the sword and the leather that was prepared for you? - Instruction (Urdu): امام رضاؑ اپنے والد بزرگ وار سے فرماتے ہیں: ابو جعفر الدوانقی نے امام جعفر ابن محمدؑ کو قتل کرنے کی غرض سے بلایا۔ اس نے ایک تلوار اور ایک خاص چمڑا (جو کسی کی گردن اُڑانے کے لئے استعمال کیا جاتا ہے) بچھایا۔ دوانقی نے ربی سے کہا: جب ان سے گفتگو کے بعد تالی بجاؤ تو تم انکا سر کلم کر دینا۔ پھر جب امام جعفر ابن محمدؑ داخل ہوئے تو دوانقی کو دیکھتے ہی امامؑ کے لب جنبش کرنے لگے۔ دوانقی اپنی جگہ پر بیٹھے ہوے کہے رہا تھا، اے ابا عبدللہ! خوش آم دید۔ ہم صرف تمہارے قرض کی ادائگی کے لئے تمہیں زحمت دی ہے۔ پھر اس نے امامؑ کے گھر والوں کی خیر خبر لی اور فرمایا: اللہ تعالی نے آپ کا قرض ادا کر دیا اور تمہارے اجر کو برقرار رکھا ہے۔ اے ربی! جو میں نے کہا تھا وہ کچھ بھی نہیں کرنا جب تک کہ جعفر (امام) اپنے خاندان والوں تک نہ پہنچ جائیں۔ جب دوانقی چلا گیا، تو ربی نے امامؑ سے کہا: اے ابا عبدللہ! کیا تم نے تلوار اور چمڑا نہیں دیکھا جو تمہارے لئے تیار کیا گیا تھا؟ آپ کیا پڑھ رہے تھے جب تمہارے لب ہل رہے تھے؟ امام جعفر صادقؑ نے فرمایا: جب اسکی آنکھوں میں میں نے مکر پایا تو یہ کہا۔۔۔

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: حَسْبِيَ الرَّبُّ مِنَ الْمَرْبُوْبِیْنَ حَسْبِيَ الْخَالِقُ مِنَ الْمَخْلُوْقِیْنَ حَسْبِيَ الرَّازِقُ مِنَ الْمَرْزُوْقِیْنَ حَسْبِيَ اللہُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ حَسْبِيْ مَنْ ھُوَ حَسْبِیْ، حَسْبِیْ مَنْ لَّمْ یَزَلْ حَسْبِیْ، حَسْبِیَ اللہُ لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ھُوَ عَلَیْہِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَھُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِیْمِ۔
- Transliteration: HASBEYAR RABBO MENAL MARBOOBEENA HASBEYAL KHAALEQO MENAL MAKHLOOQEENA HASBEYAR RAAZEQO MENAL MARZOO-QEENA HASBEYALLAAHO RABBUL A'ALAMEENA HASBEE MAN HOWA HASBEE HASBEE HASBEE MAL LAM YAZAL HASBEE HASBEYALLAAHO LAA ELAAHA ILLAA HOWA A'LAYHE TAWAKKALTO WA HOWA RABBUL A'RSHIL A'ZEEME.
- English: Sufficient for me is the Lord against the lorded. Sufficient for me is the Creator against the creatures. Sufficient for me is the Sustainer against the sustained. Sufficient for me is Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Sufficient for me is Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Sufficient for me is Allah, the Lord of the worlds. “Allah suffices me. There is no god save Him. In Him have I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the Tremendous Throne.”
- Urdu: میرے لیے پلنے والوں کے بجائے پالنے والا کافی ہے میرے لئے خلق ہونے والوں کے بجائے خلق کرنے والا کافی ہے میرے لیے رزق پانے والوں کے بجائے رزق دینے والا کافی ہے۔جہانوں کا پالنے والا اﷲ میرے لیے کافی ہے۔ وہ جو میرے لیے کافی ہے وہی میرے لیے کافی ہے، میرے لیے کافی ہے وہ اﷲجس کے سوا کوئی معبودنہیں میں اسی پر توکل کرتا ہوں اور وہی عرشِ عظیم کا مالک ہے۔

- Arabic: اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
- Transliteration: ALLAHUMMA SWALLE ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA AALE MUHAMMADIN
- English: Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
- Urdu: اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
