# Seeking forgiveness after Namaz

- Instruction: Through a valid chain of authority, Shaikh Kulayni reports Imam Muhammad Baqir (a) as saying, “Whoever repeats this imploration of forgiveness 3 times after the obligatory prayer before he changes the position of his feet, Almighty Allah will forgive his sins even if they were as massive as foams of oceans. According to another report, whoever says this imploration of forgiveness every day, Almighty Allah will forgive 40 of his grand sins….
- Instruction (Urdu): شيخ کلينیؒنے معتبر سند کے ساتھ حضرت امام محمدباقرؑ  سے روايت کی ہے کہ جو شخص فريضہ نماز کے بعد پائوں کو پلٹا نے سے پہلے ۳ مرتبہ يہ دُعا پڑھے تو خداوند اس کے تمام گناه معاف کر ديگا خواه وه گناه کثرت ميں سمندر کی جھاگ کے برابر ہی کيوں نہ ہوں۔ ايک روايت کے مطابق جو شخص ہر روز يہ دعائے استغفار پڑھے تو خدا اس کے ۴۰ گناه کبيره معاف کر ديگا۔۔۔

- Arabic: اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِىْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ ذُوالْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ وَاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ۔
- Transliteration: ASTAGH-FERUL LAAHAL LAZEE LAA ILAAHA ILLAA HO-WAL HAIYYUL QAIYYOO-MO ZUL JALAALE WAL IKRAA-ME WA ATOO-BO ILAIYHE.
- English: I seek forgiveness of Allah; there is no god save Him, the Ever-living and Self-Subsisting; and to Him do I turn in repentance.
- Urdu: اس خدا سے بخشش چاہتا ہوں کہ جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہيں وه زنده پائنده عزت و دبدبے والا ہے اور اس کے حضور توبہ کرتا ہوں۔
