# Time of Namaz’e Shab

- Instruction: The time of the Night Prayer begins after midnight; yet, it is recommended to perform it as near as possible to dawn. However, when dawn comes while one has still 4 units of the prayer to perform, one may recite only [Surah Fateha](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) in the rest of the prayer. The Night Prayer consists of 8 units of prayer; each 2 alone. Salaam should be said at the end of each 2 units with the intention of offering the Night Prayer. It is advisable to repeat [Surah Ikhlaas](https://fzic.org/library/quran/112-ikhlaas-4-1185) 30 times in each unit of the first couple after reciting [Surah Fateha](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074). By doing such, one’s all sins will be forgiven as soon as he finishes the prayer. It is also recommended to recite after [Surah Fateha](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) [Surah Ikhlaas](https://fzic.org/library/quran/112-ikhlaas-4-1185) in the first unit and [Surah Kaafiroon](https://fzic.org/library/quran/109-kaafiroon-6-1182) in the second. In the other units of the prayer, one may recite any Surah he chooses. However, it is sufficiently acceptable to recite [Surah Fateha](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) and [Surah Ikhlaas](https://fzic.org/library/quran/112-ikhlaas-4-1185) in each unit of the Night Prayer. It is also permissible to recite [Surah Fateha](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) alone.
- Instruction (Urdu): اس نماز کا اول وقت آدھی رات سے شروع ہوتا ہے اور صبح صادق کے طلوع ہونے سے جتنا نزديک ہو بہتر ہے اگر صبح صادق طلوع ہو جائے تو پھر ۴ رکعت نماز شب ادا کرے اور باقی رکعتوں کو صرف [سورۂ فاتحہ](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) کے ساتھ پڑھے، تو سب سے پہلے ۸ رکعت نماز شب کی نيت سے ۲۔۲رکعت کرکے پڑھے اور ہر دوسری رکعت پر سلام کہے اور بہتر ہے کہ پہلی ۲ رکعتوں میں يعنی ہر رکعت میں [سورۂ فاتحہ](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) کے بعد [سورۂ اخلاص](https://fzic.org/library/quran/112-ikhlaas-4-1185)  ۳۰ مرتبہ پڑھے اور جب يہ مکمل کر لے گا تو اس پر کوئی گناه نہيں رہے گا۔ يا يہ کہ پہلی رکعت ميں [سورۂ فاتحہ](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) کے بعد [سورۂ اخلاص](https://fzic.org/library/quran/112-ikhlaas-4-1185) اور دوسری رکعت میں [سورۂ فاتحہ](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) کے بعد [سورۂ کافرون](https://fzic.org/library/quran/109-kaafiroon-6-1182) پڑھے باقی ۶ رکعتوں میں [سورۂ فاتحہ](https://fzic.org/library/quran/1-fateha-7-1074) پر بھی اکتفا کيا جا سکتا ہے۔
