### Mountain (Makki)

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَالطُّوْرِ
- Transliteration: WAT-TOOR.
- English: I swear by the Mountain
- Urdu: طور کی قسم۔

- Arabic: وَكِتٰبٍ مَّسْطُوْرٍ
- Transliteration: WA KITAABIM MASTOOR.
- English: And the Book written
- Urdu: اور لکھی ہوئی کتاب کی قسم۔

- Arabic: فِيْ رَقٍّ مَّنْشُوْرٍ
- Transliteration: FEE RAQQIM MANSHOOR.
- English: In an outstretched fine parchment
- Urdu: جو کشادہ اوراق میں ہے۔

- Arabic: وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُوْرِ
- Transliteration: WAL BAITIL MA’MOOR.
- English: And the House (Kaaba) that is visited
- Urdu: اور بیتِ معمور کی قسم۔

- Arabic: وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوْعِ
- Transliteration: WASSAQFIL MARFOO’.
- English: And the elevated canopy
- Urdu: اور بلند چھت (آسمان) کی قسم۔

- Arabic: وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُوْرِ
- Transliteration: WAL BAHRIL MASJOOR.
- English: And the swollen sea
- Urdu: اور بھڑکتے ہوئے سمندر کی قسم۔

- Arabic: اِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ
- Transliteration: INNA ’AZAABA RABBIKA LAWAAQI’.
- English: Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass;
- Urdu: یقینًا تمہارے رب کا عذاب واقع ہونے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: مَا لَهٗ مِنْ دَافِعٍ
- Transliteration: MAA LAHOO MIN DAAFI’.
- English: There shall be none to avert it;
- Urdu: اور اس کا کوئی دفع کرنے والا نہیں ہے۔

- Arabic: يَوْمَ تَمُوْرُ السَّمَاۗءُ مَوْرًا
- Transliteration: YAWMA TAMOORUS SAMAAA’U MAWRAA.
- English: On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side
- Urdu: جس دن آسمان باقاعدہ چکر کھانے لگیں گے۔

- Arabic: وَتَسِيْرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
- Transliteration: WA TASEERUL JIBAALU SAIRAA.
- English: And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether).
- Urdu: اور پہاڑ باقاعدہ حرکت میں آجائیں گے۔

- Arabic: فَوَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ
- Transliteration: FAWAILUNY YAWMA ’IZIL LIL MUKAAZZIBEEN.
- English: So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth)
- Urdu: پھر جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے عذاب اور بربادی ہی ہے۔

- Arabic: اَلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ فِيْ خَوْضٍ يَّلْعَبُوْنَ
- Transliteration: ALLAZEENA HUM FEE KHAWDINY YAL’ABOON.
- English: Those who sport entering into vain discourses.
- Urdu: جو محلات میں پڑے کھیل تماشہ کر رہے ہیں۔

- Arabic: يَوْمَ يُدَعُّوْنَ اِلٰى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
- Transliteration: YAWMA YUDA’-’OONA ILAA NAARI JAHANNAMA DA’-’AA.
- English: The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence.
- Urdu: جس دن انہیں بھر پور طریقہ سے جہنّم میں ڈھکیل دیا جائے گا۔

- Arabic: هٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِيْ كُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُوْنَ
- Transliteration: HAAZIHIN NAARUL LATEE KUNTUM BIHAA TUKAZZIBOON.
- English: This is the fire which you used to give the lie to.
- Urdu: یہی وہ جہنّم کی آگ ہے جس کی تم تکذیب کیا کرتے تھے۔

- Arabic: اَفَسِحْرٌ هٰذَآ اَمْ اَنْتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AFASIHRUN HAAZAAAA AM ANTUM LAA TUBSIROON.
- English: Is it magic then or do you not see?
- Urdu: آیا یہ جادو ہے یا تمہیں کچھ سجھائی نہیں دے رہا ہے۔

- Arabic: اِصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوْٓا اَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوْا سَوَاۗءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ
- Transliteration: ISLAWHAA FASBIROOO AW LAA TASBIROO SAWAAA’UN ’ALAIKUM INNAMAA TUJZAWNA MAA KUNTUM TA’MALOON.
- English: Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did.
- Urdu: اب اس میں چلے جاؤ پھر چاہے صبر کرو یا نہ کرو سب برابر ہے یہ تمہارے ان اعمال کی سزا دی جا رہی ہے جو تم انجام دیا کرتے تھے۔

- Arabic: اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ فِيْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّنَعِيْمٍ
- Transliteration: INNAL MUTTAQEENA FEE JANNAATINW WA NA’EEM.
- English: Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss
- Urdu: بےشک صاحبانِ تقویٰ باغات اور نعمتوں کے درمیان رہیں گے۔

- Arabic: فٰكِهِيْنَ بِمَآ اٰتٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيْمِ
- Transliteration: FAAKIHEENA BIMAAA AATAAHUM RABBUHUM WA WAQAAHUM RABBUHUM ’AZAABAL JAHEEM.
- English: Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire.
- Urdu: جو خدا عنایت کرے گا اس میں خوش حال رہیں گے اور خدا انہیں جہنّم کے عذاب سے محفوظ رکھے گا۔

- Arabic: كُلُوْا وَاشْرَبُوْا هَنِيْۗئًۢا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ
- Transliteration: KULOO WASHRABOO HANEEE ’AM BIMAA KUNTUM TA’MALOON.
- English: Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did
- Urdu: اب یہیں آرام سے کھاؤ پیو ان اعمال کی بنا پر جو تم نے انجام دئیے تھے۔

- Arabic: مُتَّكِئِيْنَ عَلٰى سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوْفَةٍ وَّزَوَّجْنٰهُمْ بِحُوْرٍ عِيْنٍ
- Transliteration: MUTTAKI’EENA ’ALAA SURURIM MASFOOFATINW WA ZAWWAJ NAAHUM BIHOORIN ’EEN.
- English: Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones.
- Urdu: وہ برابر سے بچھے ہوئے تختوں پر تکیہ لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے اور ہم ان کا جوڑا کشادہ چشم حوروں کو قرار دیں گے۔

- Arabic: وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بِاِيْمَانٍ اَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ اَلَتْنٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّنْ شَيْءٍ كُلُّ امْرِىٍٔۢ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِيْنٌ
- Transliteration: WALLAZEENA AAMANOO WATTABA’AT HUM ZURRIYYATUHUM BIEEMAANIN ALHAQNAA BIHIM ZURRIYYATAHUM WA MAAA ALATNAAHUM MIN ’AMALIHIM MIN SHAI’; KULLUM RI’IM BIMAA KASABA RAHEEN.
- English: And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought.
- Urdu: اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور ان کی اولاد نے بھی ایمان میں ان کا اتباع کیا تو ہم ان کی ذریت کو بھی ان ہی سے ملا دیں گے اور کسی کے عمل میں سے ذرہ برابر بھی کم نہیں کریں گے کہ ہر شخص اپنے اعمال کا گروی ہے۔

- Arabic: وَاَمْدَدْنٰهُمْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَّلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُوْنَ
- Transliteration: WA AMDADNAAHUM BIFAA KIHATINW WA LAHMIM MIMMAA YASHTAHOON.
- English: And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire.
- Urdu: اور ہم جس طرح کے میوے یا گوشت وہ چاہیں گے اس سے بڑھ کر ان کی امداد کریں گے۔

- Arabic: يَتَنَازَعُوْنَ فِيْهَا كَاسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيْهَا وَلَا تَاْثِيْمٌ
- Transliteration: YATANAAZA’OONA FEEHAA KAASAL LAA LAGHWUN FEEHAA WA LAA TAASEEM.
- English: They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin.
- Urdu: وہ آپس میں جامِ شراب پر جھگڑا کریں گے لیکن وہاں کوئی لغویت اور گناہ نہ ہو گا۔

- Arabic: وَيَطُوْفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَاَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُوْنٌ
- Transliteration: WA YATOOFU ’ALAIHIM GHILMAANUL LAHUM KA ANNAHUM LU’LU’UM MAKNOON.
- English: And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls.
- Urdu: اور ان کے گرد وہ نوجوان لڑکے چکر لگاتے ہوں گے جو پوشیدہ اور محتاط موتیوں جیسے حسین و جمیل ہوں گے۔

- Arabic: وَاَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ يَّتَسَاۗءَلُوْنَ
- Transliteration: WA AQBALA BA’DUHUM ’ALAA BA’DINY YATASAAA’ALOON.
- English: And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other.
- Urdu: اور پھر ایک دوسرے کی طرف رخ کر کے سوال جواب کریں گے۔

- Arabic: قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِيْٓ اَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِيْنَ
- Transliteration: QAALOOO INNAA KUNNAA QABLU FEEE AHLINAA MUSHFIQEEN.
- English: Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families:
- Urdu: کہیں گے کہ ہم تو اپنے گھر میں خدا سے بہت ڈرتے تھے۔

- Arabic: فَمَنَّ اللهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقٰنَا عَذَابَ السَّمُوْمِ
- Transliteration: FAMANNNAL LAAHU ’ALAINAA WA WAQAANAA ’AZAABAS SAMOOM.
- English: But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind:
- Urdu: تو خدا نے ہم پر یہ احسان کیا اور ہمیں جہنّم کی زہریلی ہوا سے بچا لیا۔

- Arabic: اِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوْهُ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيْمُ
- Transliteration: INNAA KUNNAA MIN QABLU NAD’OOHU INNAHOO HUWAL BARRUR RAHEEM.
- English: Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful.
- Urdu: ہم اس سے پہلے بھی اسی سے دعائیں کیا کرتے تھے کہ وہ یقینًا وہ بڑا احسان کرنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

- Arabic: فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ اَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَّلَا مَجْنُوْنٍ
- Transliteration: FAZAKKIR FAMAAA ANTA BINI’MATI RABBIKA BIKAAHININW WA LAA MAJNOON.
- English: Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman.
- Urdu: لہذا آپ لوگوں کو نصیحت کرتے رہیں، خدا کے فضل سے آپ نہ کاہن ہیں اور نہ مجنون۔

- Arabic: اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهٖ رَيْبَ الْمَنُوْنِ
- Transliteration: AM YAQOOLOONA SHAA’IRUN NATARABBASU BIHEE RAIBAL MANOON.
- English: Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time.
- Urdu: کیا یہ لوگ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ یہ شاعر ہے اور ہم اس کے بارے میں حوادثِ زمانہ کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں۔

- Arabic: قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوْا فَاِنِّيْ مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِيْنَ
- Transliteration: QUL TARABBASOO FA INNEE MA’AKUM MINAL MUTARABBISEEN.
- English: Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait.
- Urdu: تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ بےشک تم انتظار کرو میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرنے والوں میں ہوں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ تَاْمُرُهُمْ اَحْلَامُهُمْ بِهٰذَآ اَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM TAAMURUHUM AHLAAMUHUM BIHAAZAAA AM HUM QAWMUN TAAGHOON.
- English: Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people?
- Urdu: کیا ان کی عقلیں یہ باتیں بتاتی ہیں یا یہ واقعًا سرکش قوم ہیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ تَقَوَّلَهٗ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM YAQOOLOONA TAQAWWALAH; BAL LAA YU’MINOON.
- English: Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe.
- Urdu: یا یہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی نے قرآن گڑھ لیا ہے اور حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ ایمان لانے والے ا نہیں ہیں۔

- Arabic: فَلْيَاْتُوْا بِحَدِيْثٍ مِّثْلِهٖٓ اِنْ كَانُوْا صٰدِقِيْنَ
- Transliteration: FALYAATOO BIHADEESIM MISLIHEEE IN KAANOO SAADIQEEN.
- English: Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful.
- Urdu: اگر یہ اپنی بات میں سچے ہیں تو یہ بھی ایسا ہی کوئی کلام لے آئیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ خُلِقُوْا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ اَمْ هُمُ الْخٰلِقُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM KHULIQOO MIN GHAIRI SHAI’IN AM HUMUL KHAALIQOON.
- English: Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators?
- Urdu: کیا یہ بغیر کسی چیز کے از خود پیدا ہو گئے ہیں یا یہ خود ہی پیدا کرنے والے ہیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بَل لَّا يُوْقِنُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM KHALAQUS SAMAAWAATI WAL ARD; BAL LAA YOOQINOON.
- English: Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty.
- Urdu: یا انہوں نے آسمان و زمین کو پیدا کر دیا ہے، حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ یقین کرنے والے نہیں ہیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَاۗئِنُ رَبِّكَ اَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَۜيْطِرُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM’INDAHUM KHAZAAA’INU RABBIKA AM HUMUL MUSAITIROON.
- English: Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority?
- Urdu: یا ان کے پاس پروردگار کے خزانے ہیں یہی لوگ حاکم ہیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُوْنَ فِيْهِ فَلْيَاْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُمْ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِيْنٍ
- Transliteration: AM LAHUM SULLAMUNY YASTAMI’OONA FEEHI FALYAATI MUSTAMI’UHUM BISULTAANIM MUBEEN.
- English: Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority.
- Urdu: یا ان کے پاس کوئی سیڑھی ہے جس کے ذریعہ آسمان کی باتیں سن لیا کرتے ہیں تو ان کا سننے والا کوئی واضح ثبوت لے آئے۔

- Arabic: اَمْ لَهُ الْبَنٰتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM LAHUL BANAATU WA LAKUMUL BANOON.
- English: Or has He daughters while you have sons?
- Urdu: یا خدا کے لئے لڑکیاں ہیں اور تمہارے لئے لڑکے ہیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ تَسْئَلُهُمْ اَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM TAS’ALUHUM AJRAN FAHUM MIM MAGHRAMIM MUSQALOON.
- English: Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt?
- Urdu: یا تم ان سے کوئی اجر رسالت مانگتے ہو کہ یہ اس کے بوجھ کے نیچے دبے جا رہے ہیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM ’INDAHUMUL GHAIBU FAHUM YAKTUBOON.
- English: Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down?
- Urdu: یا ان کے پاس غیب کا علم ہے کہ یہ اسے لکھ رہے ہیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ يُرِيْدُوْنَ كَيْدًا فَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا هُمُ الْمَكِيْدُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM YUREEDOONA KAIDAN FALLAZEENA KAFAROO HUMUL MAKEEDOON.
- English: Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war.
- Urdu: یا یہ کوئی مکاّری کرنا چاہتے ہیں تو یاد رکھو کہ کفار خود اپنی چال میں پھنس جانے والے ہیں۔

- Arabic: اَمْ لَهُمْ اِلٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللهِ سُبْحٰنَ اللهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ
- Transliteration: AM LAHUM ILAAHUN GHAIRUL LAA; SUBHAANAL LAAHI ’AMMAA YUSHRIKOON.
- English: Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him).
- Urdu: یا ان کے لئے خدا کے علاوہ کوئی دوسرا خدا ہے جب کہ خدا ان کے شرک سے پاک و پاکیزہ ہے۔

- Arabic: وَاِنْ يَّرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۗءِ سَاقِطًا يَّقُوْلُوْا سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُوْمٌ
- Transliteration: WA INY YARAW KISFAM MINAS SAMAAA’I SAAQITANY YAQOOLOO SAHAABUM MARKOOM.
- English: And if they should see a portion of the heaven coming down, they would say: Piled up clouds.
- Urdu: اور یہ اگر آسمان کے ٹکڑوں کو گرتا ہوا بھی دیکھ لیں گے تو بھی کہیں گے یہ تو تہ بہ تہ بادل ہیں۔

- Arabic: فَذَرْهُمْ حَتّٰى يُلٰقُوْا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيْهِ يُصْعَقُوْنَ
- Transliteration: FAZARHUM HATTA YULAAQOO YAWMAHUMUL LAZEE FEEHI YUS’AQOON.
- English: Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror):
- Urdu: تو انہیں ان کے حال پر چھوڑ دیجئے یہاں تک کہ وہ دن دیکھ لیں جس دن بیہوش ہو جائیں گے۔

- Arabic: يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِيْ عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَّلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُوْنَ
- Transliteration: YAWMA LAA YUGHNEE ’ANHUM KAIDUMHUM SHAI’ANW WA LAA HUM YUNSAROON.
- English: The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped.
- Urdu: جس دن ان کی کوئی چال کام نہ آئے گی اور نہ کوئی مدد کرنے والا ہو گا۔

- Arabic: وَاِنَّ لِلَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا عَذَابًا دُوْنَ ذٰلِكَ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ
- Transliteration: WA INNA LILLAZEENA ZALAMOO ’AZAABAN DOONA ZALIKA WA LAAKINNA AKSARAHUM LAA YA’LAMOON.
- English: And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know.
- Urdu: اور جن لوگوں نے ظلم کیا ہے ان کے لئے اس کے علاوہ بھی عذاب ہے لیکن ان کی اکثریت اس سے بے خبر ہے۔

- Arabic: وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَاِنَّكَ بِاَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِيْنَ تَقُوْمُ
- Transliteration: WASBIR LIHUKMI RABBIKA FA INNAKA BI-A’YUNINAA WA SABBIH BIHAMDI RABBIKA HEENA TAQOOM.
- English: And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise;
- Urdu: آپ اپنے پروردگار کے حکم کے لئے صبر کریں آپ ہماری نگاہ کے سامنے ہیں اور ہمیشہ قیام کرتے وقت اپنے پروردگار کی تسبیح کرتے رہیں۔

- Arabic: وَمِنَ الَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَاِدْبَارَ النُّجُوْمِ
- Transliteration: WA MINAL LAILI FASABBIHHU WA IDBAARAN NUJOOM.
- English: And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars.
- Urdu: اور رات کے ایک حصّہ میں اور ستاروں کے غروب ہونے کے بعد بھی تسبیحِ پروردگار کرتے رہیں۔

- Transliteration: SADAQALLAHUL ALIYYUL AZEEM
