### Rending Asunder (Makki)

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: اِذَا السَّمَاۗءُ انْشَقَّتْ
- Transliteration: IZAS SAMAAA’UN SHAQQAT.
- English: When the heaven bursts asunder
- Urdu: جب آسمان پھٹ جائے گا۔

- Arabic: وَاَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
- Transliteration: WA AZINAT LI RABBIHAA WA HUQQAT.
- English: And obeys its Lord and it must.
- Urdu: اور اپنے پروردگار کا حکم بجا لائے گا اور یہ ضروری بھی ہے۔

- Arabic: وَاِذَا الْاَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
- Transliteration: WA IZAL ARDU MUDDAT.
- English: And when the earth is stretched
- Urdu: اور جب زمین برابر کر کے پھیلا دی جائے گی۔

- Arabic: وَاَلْقَتْ مَا فِيْهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
- Transliteration: WA ALQAT MAA FEEHAA WA TAKHALLAT.
- English: And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty
- Urdu: اور وہ اپنے ذخیرے پھینک کر خالی ہو جائے گی۔

- Arabic: وَاَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
- Transliteration: WA AZINAT LI RABBIHAA WA HUQQAT.
- English: And obeys its Lord and it must.
- Urdu: اور اپنے پروردگار کا حکم بجا لائے گی اور یہ ضروری بھی ہے۔

- Arabic: يٰٓاَيُّهَا الْاِنْسَانُ اِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلٰقِيْهِ
- Transliteration: YAAA AYYUHAL INSAANU INNAKA KAADIHUN ILAA RABBIKA KAD HAN FAMULAAQEEH.
- English: O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him.
- Urdu: اے انسان تو اپنے پروردگار کی طرف جانے کی کوشش کر رہا ہے تو ایک دن اس کا سامنا کرے گا۔

- Arabic: فَاَمَّا مَنْ اُوْتِيَ كِتٰبَهٗ بِيَمِيْنِهٖ
- Transliteration: FA AMMAA MAN OOTIYA KITAABAHOO BIYAMEENIH.
- English: Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand
- Urdu: پھر جس کو نامہ اعمال داہنے ہاتھ میں دیا جائے گا۔

- Arabic: فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَّسِيْرًا
- Transliteration: FASAWFA YUHAASABU HI SAABAI YASEERAA.
- English: He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning
- Urdu: اس کا حساب آسان ہو گا۔

- Arabic: وَيَنْقَلِبُ اِلٰٓى اَهْلِهٖ مَسْرُوْرًا
- Transliteration: WA YANQALIBU ILAAA AHLIHEE MASROORAA.
- English: And he shall go back to his people joyful.
- Urdu: اور وہ اپنے اہل کی طرف خوشی خوشی واپس آئے گا۔

- Arabic: وَاَمَّا مَنْ اُوْتِيَ كِتٰبَهٗ وَرَاۗءَ ظَهْرِهٖ
- Transliteration: WA AMMAA MAN OOTIYA KITAABAHOO WARAAA’A ZAHRIH.
- English: And as to him who is given his book behind his back
- Urdu: اور جس کو نامہ اعمال پشت کی طرف سے دیا جائے گا۔

- Arabic: فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوْ ثُبُوْرًا
- Transliteration: FASAWFA YAD’OO SUBOORAA.
- English: He shall call for perdition
- Urdu: وہ عنقریب موت کی دعا کرے گا۔

- Arabic: وَيَصْلٰى سَعِيْرًا
- Transliteration: WA YASLAA SA’EERAA.
- English: And enter into burning fire.
- Urdu: اور جہنّم کی آگ میں داخل ہو گا۔

- Arabic: اِنَّهٗ كَانَ فِيْٓ اَهْلِهٖ مَسْرُوْرًا
- Transliteration: INNAHOO KAANA FEEE AHLIHEE MASROORAA.
- English: Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers.
- Urdu: یہ پہلے اپنے اہل و عیال میں بہت خوش تھا۔

- Arabic: اِنَّهٗ ظَنَّ اَن لَّنْ يَّحُوْرَ
- Transliteration: INNAHOO ZANNA AL LAI YAHOOR.
- English: Surely he thought that he would never return.
- Urdu: اور اس کا خیال تھا کہ پلٹ کر خدا کی طرف نہیں جائے گا۔

- Arabic: بَلٰٓى اِنَّ رَبَّهٗ كَانَ بِهٖ بَصِيْرًا
- Transliteration: BALAAA INNA RABBAHOO KAANA BIHEE BASEERAA.
- English: Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him.
- Urdu: ہاں اس کا پروردگار خوب دیکھنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: فَلَآ اُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ
- Transliteration: FALAAA UQSIMU BISHSHAFAQ.
- English: But nay! I swear by the sunset redness
- Urdu: میں شفق (مغرب کے وقت) کی قسم کھا کر کہتا ہوں۔

- Arabic: وَالَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
- Transliteration: WALLAILI WA MAA WASAQ.
- English: And the night and that which it drives on
- Urdu: اور رات اور جن چیزوں کو وہ ڈھانک لیتی ہے ان کی قسم۔

- Arabic: وَالْقَمَرِ اِذَا اتَّسَقَ
- Transliteration: WALQAMARI IZAT TASAQ.
- English: And the moon when it grows full
- Urdu: اور چاند کی قسم جب وہ پورا ہو جائے۔

- Arabic: لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنْ طَبَقٍ
- Transliteration: LATARKABUNNA TABAQAN ’AN TABAQ.
- English: That you shall most certainly enter one state after another.
- Urdu: کہ تم ایک مصیبت کے بعد دوسری مصیبت میں مبتلا ہو گے۔

- Arabic: فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ
- Transliteration: FAMAA LAHUM LAA YU’MINOON.
- English: But what is the matter with them that they do not believe
- Urdu: پھر انہیں کیا ہو گیا ہے کہ ایمان نہیں لے آتے ہیں۔

- Transliteration: [MUSTAHAB SAJDAH] WA IZAA QURI’A ’ALAIHIMUL QURAANU LAA YASJUDOON.
- English: And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance?
- Urdu: اور جب ان کے سامنے قرآن پڑھا جاتا ہے تو سجدہ نہیں کرتے ہیں۔

- Arabic: بَلِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا يُكَذِّبُوْنَ
- Transliteration: BALIL LAZEENA KAFAROO YUKAZZIBOON.
- English: Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth.
- Urdu: بلکہ کفّار تو تکذیب بھی کرتے ہیں۔

- Arabic: وَاللهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوْعُوْنَ
- Transliteration: WALLAAHU A’LAMU BIMAA YOO’OON.
- English: And Allah knows best what they hide
- Urdu: اور اللہ خوب جانتا ہے جو یہ اپنے دلوں میں چھپائے ہوئے ہیں۔

- Arabic: فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ
- Transliteration: FABASHSHIRHUM BI’AZAABIN ALEEM.
- English: So announce to them a painful punishment.
- Urdu: اب آپ انہیں درد ناک عذاب کی بشارت دے دیں۔

- Arabic: اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ اَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُوْنٍ
- Transliteration: ILLAL LAZEENA AAMANOO WA ’AMILUS SAALIHAATI LAHUM AJRUN GHAIRU MAMNOON.
- English: Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off.
- Urdu: علاوہ صاحبانِ ایمان و عمل صالح کے کہ ان کے لئے نہ ختم ہونے والا اجر و ثواب ہے۔

- Transliteration: SADAQALLAHUL ALIYYUL AZEEM
- English: Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.
- Urdu: اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
