### Overwhelming Event (Makki)

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: هَلْ اَتٰكَ حَدِيْثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ
- Transliteration: HAL ATAAKA HADEESUL GHAASHIYAH.
- English: Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity?
- Urdu: کیا تمہیں ڈھانپ لینے والی قیامت کی بات معلوم ہے۔

- Arabic: وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ
- Transliteration: WUJOOHUNY YAWMA ’IZIN KHAASHI’AH.
- English: (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast
- Urdu: اس دن بہت سے چہرے ذلیل اور رسوا ہوں گے۔

- Arabic: عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ
- Transliteration: AAMILATUN NAASIBAH.
- English: Laboring, toiling
- Urdu: محنت کرنے والے تھکے ہوئے۔

- Arabic: تَصْلٰى نَارًا حَامِيَةً
- Transliteration: TASLAA NAARAN HAAMIYAH.
- English: Entering into burning fire
- Urdu: دہکتی ہوئی آگ میں داخل ہوں گے۔

- Arabic: تُسْقٰى مِنْ عَيْنٍ اٰنِيَةٍ
- Transliteration: TUSQAA MIN ’AYNIN AANIYAH.
- English: Made to drink from a boiling spring.
- Urdu: انہیں کھولتے ہوئے پانی کے چشمہ سے سیراب کیا جائے گا۔

- Arabic: لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيْعٍ
- Transliteration: LAISA LAHUM TA’AAMUN ILLAA MIN DAREE’.
- English: They shall have no food but of thorns
- Urdu: ان کے لئے کوئی کھانا سوائے خار دار جھاڑی کے نہ ہو گا۔

- Arabic: لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِيْ مِنْ جُوْعٍ
- Transliteration: LAA YUSMINU WA LAA YUGHNEE MIN JOO’.
- English: Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger.
- Urdu: جو نہ موٹائی پیدا کر سکے اور نہ بھوک کے کام آسکے۔

- Arabic: وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ
- Transliteration: WUJOOHUNY YAWMA ’IZIN NAA’IMAH.
- English: (Other) faces on that day shall be happy
- Urdu: اور کچھ چہرے تر و تازہ ہوں گے۔

- Arabic: لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ
- Transliteration: LISA’YIHAA RAADIYAH.
- English: Well-pleased because of their striving
- Urdu: اپنی محنت و ریاضت سے خوش۔

- Arabic: فِيْ جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
- Transliteration: FEE JANNATIN ’AALIYAH.
- English: In a lofty garden
- Urdu: بلند ترین جنت میں۔

- Arabic: لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيْهَا لَاغِيَةً
- Transliteration: LAA TASMA’U FEEHAA LAAGHIYAH.
- English: Wherein you shall not hear vain talk.
- Urdu: جہاں کوئی لغو آواز نہ سنائی دے۔

- Arabic: فِيْهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ
- Transliteration: FEEHAA ’AYNUN JAARIYAH.
- English: Therein is a fountain flowing
- Urdu: وہاں چشمے جاری ہوں گے۔

- Arabic: فِيْهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوْعَةٌ
- Transliteration: FEEHAA SURURUM MARFOO’AH.
- English: Therein are thrones raised high
- Urdu: وہاں اُونچے اُونچے تخت ہوں گے۔

- Arabic: وَاَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوْعَةٌ
- Transliteration: WA AKWAABUM MAWZOO’AH.
- English: And drinking-cups ready placed
- Urdu: اور اطراف میں رکھے ہوئے پیالے ہوں گے۔

- Arabic: وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوْفَةٌ
- Transliteration: WA NAMAARIQU MASFOOFAH.
- English: And cushions set in a row
- Urdu: اور قطار سے لگے ہوئے گاؤ (گول) تکیے ہوں گے۔

- Arabic: وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوْثَةٌ
- Transliteration: WA ZARAABIYYU MABSOOSAH.
- English: And carpets spread out.
- Urdu: اور بچھی ہوئی بہترین مسندیں ہوں گی۔

- Arabic: اَفَلَا يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَى الْاِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ
- Transliteration: AFALAA YANZUROONA ILALIBILI KAIFA KHULIQAT.
- English: Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created?
- Urdu: کیا یہ لوگ اونٹ کی طرف نہیں دیکھتے ہیں کہ اسے کس طرح پیدا کیا گیا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَاِلَى السَّمَاۗءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ
- Transliteration: WA ILAS SAMAAA’I KAIFA RUFI’AT.
- English: And the heaven, how it is reared aloft
- Urdu: اور آسمان کو کس طرح بلند کیا گیا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَاِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ
- Transliteration: WA ILAL JIBAALI KAIFA NUSIBAT.
- English: And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed
- Urdu: اور پہاڑ کو کس طرح نصب کیا گیا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَاِلَى الْاَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ
- Transliteration: WA ILAL ARDI KAIFA SUTIHAT.
- English: And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse?
- Urdu: اور زمین کو کس طرح بچھایا گیا ہے۔

- Arabic: فَذَكِّرْ اِنَّمَآ اَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ
- Transliteration: FAZAKKIR INNAMA ANTA MUZAKKIR.
- English: Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder.
- Urdu: لہذا تم نصیحت کرتے رہو کہ تم صرف نصیحت کرنے والے ہو۔

- Arabic: لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ
- Transliteration: LASTA ’ALAIHIM BIMUSAITIR.
- English: You are not a watcher over them;
- Urdu: تم ان پر مسلط اور ان کے ذمہ دار نہیں ہو۔

- Arabic: اِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلّٰى وَكَفَرَ
- Transliteration: ILLAA MAN TAWALLAA WA KAFAR.
- English: But whoever turns back and disbelieves,
- Urdu: مگر جو منہ پھیر لے اور کافر ہو جائے۔

- Arabic: فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللهُ الْعَذَابَ الْاَكْبَرَ
- Transliteration: FA YU’AZZIBUHUL LAAHUL ’AZAABAL AKBAR.
- English: Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement.
- Urdu: تو خدا اسے بہت بڑے عذاب میں مبتلا کرے گا۔

- Arabic: اِنَّ اِلَيْنَآ اِيَابَهُمْ
- Transliteration: INNAA ILAINAAA IYAABAHUM.
- English: Surely to Us is their turning back,
- Urdu: پھر ہماری ہی طرف ان سب کی بازگشت ہے۔

- Arabic: ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ
- Transliteration: SUMMA INNA ’ALAINAA HISAABAHUM.
- English: Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account.
- Urdu: اور ہمارے ہی ذمہ ان سب کا حساب ہے۔

- Transliteration: SADAQALLAHUL ALIYYUL AZEEM
- English: Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.
- Urdu: اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
