### Sun (Makki)

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحٰهَا
- Transliteration: WASH SHAMSI WA DUHAA HAA.
- English: I swear by the sun and its brilliance
- Urdu: آفتاب اور اس کی روشنی کی قسم۔

- Arabic: وَالْقَمَرِ اِذَا تَلٰهَا
- Transliteration: WAL QAMARI IZAA TALAA HAA.
- English: And the moon when it follows the sun
- Urdu: اور چاند کی قسم جب وہ اس کے پیچھے چلے۔

- Arabic: وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا جَلّٰهَا
- Transliteration: WANNAHAARI IZAA JALLAA HAA.
- English: And the day when it shows it
- Urdu: اور دن کی قسم جب وہ روشنی بخشے۔

- Arabic: وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا يَغْشٰهَا
- Transliteration: WALLAILI IZAA YAGHSHAA HAA.
- English: And the night when it draws a veil over it
- Urdu: اور رات کی قسم جب وہ اسے ڈھانک لے۔

- Arabic: وَالسَّمَاۗءِ وَمَا بَنٰهَا
- Transliteration: WASSAMAAA’I WA MAA BANAAHAA.
- English: And the heaven and Him Who made it
- Urdu: اور آسمان کی قسم اور جس نے اسے بنایا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا طَحٰهَا
- Transliteration: WAL ARDI WA MAA TAHAAHAA.
- English: And the earth and Him Who extended it
- Urdu: اور زمین کی قسم اور جس نے اسے بچھایا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَنَفْسٍ وَّمَا سَوّٰهَا
- Transliteration: WA NAFSINW WA MAA SAWWAAHAA.
- English: And the soul and Him Who made it perfect
- Urdu: اور نفس کی قسم اور جس نے اسے درست کیا ہے۔

- Arabic: فَاَلْهَمَهَا فُجُوْرَهَا وَتَقْوٰهَا
- Transliteration: FA-ALHAMAHAA FUJOORAHAA WA TAQWAAHAA.
- English: Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it;
- Urdu: پھر بدی اور تقویٰ کی ہدایت دی ہے۔

- Arabic: قَدْ اَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكّٰهَا
- Transliteration: QAD AFLAHA MAN ZAKKAAHAA.
- English: He will indeed be successful who purifies it
- Urdu: بے شک وہ کامیاب ہو گیا جس نے نفس کو پاکیزہ بنا لیا۔

- Arabic: وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسّٰهَا
- Transliteration: WA QAD KHAABA MAN DASSAAHAA.
- English: And he will indeed fail who corrupts it.
- Urdu: اور وہ نامراد ہو گیا جس نے اسے آلودہ کر دیا ہے۔

- Arabic: كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُوْدُ بِطَغْوٰهَآ
- Transliteration: KAZZABAT SAMOODU BI TAGHWAAHAAA.
- English: Samood gave the lie (to the truth) in their inordinacy
- Urdu: ثمود نے اپنی سرکشی کی بنا پر رسول کی تذکیب کی۔

- Arabic: اِذِ انْۢبَعَثَ اَشْقٰهَا
- Transliteration: IZIM BA’ASA ASHQAAHAA.
- English: When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with mischief.
- Urdu: جب ان کا بدبخت اٹھ کھڑا ہوا۔

- Arabic: فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ نَاقَةَ اللهِ وَسُقْيٰهَا
- Transliteration: FAQAALA LAHUM RASOOLUL LAAHI NAAQATAL LAAHI WA SUQIYAAHAA.
- English: So Allah’s apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah’s she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink.
- Urdu: تو خدا کے رسول نے کہا کہ خدا کی اونٹنی اور اس کی سیرابی کا خیال رکھنا۔

- Arabic: فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَعَقَرُوْهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِذَنْۢبِهِمْ فَسَوّٰهَا
- Transliteration: FAKAZZABOOHU FA’AQAROOHAA FADAMDAMA ’ALAIHIM RABBUHUM BIZAMBIHIM FASAW WAAHAA.
- English: But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground).
- Urdu: تو ان لوگوں نے اس کی تکذیب کی اور اس کی کونچیں کاٹ ڈالیں تو خدا نے ان کے گناہ کے سبب ان پر عذاب نازل کر دیا اور انہیں بالکل برابر کر دیا۔

- Arabic: وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبٰهَا
- Transliteration: WA LAA YAKHAAFU’UQBAAHAA.
- English: And He fears not its consequence.
- Urdu: اور اسے اس کے انجام کا کوئی خوف نہیں ہے۔

- Transliteration: SADAQALLAHUL ALIYYUL AZEEM
- English: Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.
- Urdu: اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
