### Night (Makki)

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا يَغْشٰى
- Transliteration: WALLAILI IZAA YAGHSHAA.
- English: I swear by the night when it draws a veil
- Urdu: رات کی قسم جب وہ دن کو ڈھانپ لے۔

- Arabic: وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا تَجَلّٰى
- Transliteration: WANNAHAARI IZAA TAJALLA.
- English: And the day when it shines in brightness
- Urdu: اور دن کی قسم جب وہ چمک جائے۔

- Arabic: وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْاُنْثٰٓى
- Transliteration: WA MAA KHALAQAZ ZAKARA WAL UNTHAA.
- English: And the creating of the male and the female
- Urdu: اور اس کی قسم جس نے مرد اور عورت کو پیدا کیا ہے۔

- Arabic: اِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتّٰى
- Transliteration: INNA SA’YAKUM LASHATTAA.
- English: Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends).
- Urdu: بے شک تمہاری کوششیں مختلف قسم کی ہیں۔

- Arabic: فَاَمَّا مَنْ اَعْطٰى وَاتَّقٰى
- Transliteration: FA AMMAA MAN A’TAA WATTAQAA.
- English: Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil)
- Urdu: پھر جس نے مال عطا کیا اور تقویٰ اختیار کیا۔

- Arabic: وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنٰى
- Transliteration: WA SADDAQA BIL HUSNAA.
- English: And accepts the best
- Urdu: اور نیکی کی تصدیق کی۔

- Arabic: فَسَنُيَسِّرُهٗ لِلْيُسْرٰى
- Transliteration: FASANU YASSIRUHOO LILYUSRAA.
- English: We will facilitate for him the easy end.
- Urdu: تو اس کے لئے ہم آسانی کا انتظام کر دیں گے۔

- Arabic: وَاَمَّا مَنْۢ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنٰى
- Transliteration: WA AMMAA MAN BAKHILA WASTAGHNAA.
- English: And as for him who is Parsimonius and considers himself free from need (of Allah)
- Urdu: اور جس نے بخل کیا اور لاپروائی برتی۔

- Arabic: وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنٰى
- Transliteration: WA KAZZABA BIL HUSNAA.
- English: And rejects the best
- Urdu: اور نیکی کو جھٹلایا ہے۔

- Arabic: فَسَنُيَسِّرُهٗ لِلْعُسْرٰى
- Transliteration: FASANU YASSIRUHOO LIL’USRAA.
- English: We will facilitate for him the difficult end.
- Urdu: اس کے لئے سختی کی راہ ہموار کر دیں گے۔

- Arabic: وَمَا يُغْنِيْ عَنْهُ مَالُهٗٓ اِذَا تَرَدّٰى
- Transliteration: WA MAA YUGHNEE ’ANHU MAALUHOOO IZAA TARADDAA.
- English: And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes.
- Urdu: اور اس کا مال کچھ کام نہ آئے گا جب وہ ہلاک ہو جائے گا۔

- Arabic: اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدٰى
- Transliteration: INNA ’ALAINAA LAL HUDAA.
- English: Surely Ours is it to show the way
- Urdu: بے شک ہدایت کی ذمہ داری ہمارے اوپر ہے۔

- Arabic: وَاِنَّ لَنَا لَلْاٰخِرَةَ وَالْاُوْلٰى
- Transliteration: WA INNA LANAA LAL AAKHIRATA WAL OOLAA.
- English: And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former.
- Urdu: اور دنیا و آخرت کا اختیار ہمارے ہاتھوں میں ہے۔

- Arabic: فَاَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظّٰى
- Transliteration: FA ANZARTUKUM NAARAN TALAZZAA.
- English: Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames:
- Urdu: تو ہم نے تمہیں بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ سے ڈرایا۔

- Arabic: لَا يَصْلٰهَآ اِلَّا الْاَشْقٰى
- Transliteration: LAA YASLAAHAAA ILLAL ASHQAA.
- English: None shall enter it but the most unhappy
- Urdu: جس میں کوئی نہ جائے گا سوائے بدبخت شخص کے۔

- Arabic: اَلَّذِيْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰى
- Transliteration: ALLAZEE KAZZABA WA TAWALLAA.
- English: Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back.
- Urdu: جس نے جھٹلایا اور منہ پھیر لیا۔

- Arabic: وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْاَتْقٰى
- Transliteration: WA SA YUJANNNABUHAL ATQAA.
- English: And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil)
- Urdu: اور اس سے عنقریب صاحبِ تقویٰ کو محفوظ رکھا جائے گا۔

- Arabic: اَلَّذِيْ يُؤْتِيْ مَالَهٗ يَتَزَكّٰى
- Transliteration: ALLAZEE YU’TEE MAALAHOO YATAZAKKAA.
- English: Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself.
- Urdu: جو اپنے مال کو دے کر پاکیزگی کا اہتمام کرتا ہے۔

- Arabic: وَمَا لِاَحَدٍ عِنْدَهٗ مِنْ نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزٰٓى
- Transliteration: WA MAA LI AHADIN ’INDAHOO MIN NI’MATIN TUJZAAA.
- English: And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded
- Urdu: جب کہ اس کے پاس کسی کا کوئی احسان نہیں ہے جس کی جزا دی جائے۔

- Arabic: اِلَّا ابْتِغَاۗءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْاَعْلٰى
- Transliteration: ILLAB TIGHAAA’A WAJHI RABBIHIL A ’LAA.
- English: Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High.
- Urdu: سوائے یہ کہ وہ خدائے بزرگ کی مرضی کا طلب گار ہے۔

- Arabic: وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضٰى
- Transliteration: WA LASAWFA YARDAA.
- English: And he shall soon be well-pleased.
- Urdu: اور عنقریب وہ راضی ہو جائے گا۔

- Transliteration: SADAQALLAHUL ALIYYUL AZEEM
- English: Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.
- Urdu: اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
