## About this text

Ayat-e-Kareema is the supplication of the Prophet Yunus (a), from Surah al-Anbiya (21:87): “There is no god but You; glory be to You; I was indeed among the wrongdoers.” The Qur’an relates that Yunus (a) called upon Allah with these words from within the belly of the fish, and Allah delivered him from his distress. It is widely recited for relief from difficulty, grief and calamity, often repeated a set number of times.

### Surah (21:87)

- Arabic: بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
- Transliteration: BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
- English: In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
- Urdu: اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

- Arabic: لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ اِنِّیْ کُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِیْنَ۔
- Transliteration: LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA SUBHAA-NA-KA INNEE KUNTO MENAZ ZAALEMEEN.
- English: There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those who make themselves to suffer loss.
- Urdu: تیرے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے تو پاک و بے نیاز ہے اور میں اپنے نفس پر ظلم کرنے والوں میں سے تھا۔
