روایت نقل ہوئی ہے : عقیقہ کی بھیڑ بکری مینڈھا یا بکرا ذبح کرتے وقت یہ دعا پڑھے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَبِاللهِ، اَللّٰهُمَّ عَقِيْقَةٌ عَنْ فُلَانٍ۔۔۔
Bismi allaahi wabillaahi, allaahumma 'aqeeqatun 'an fulaan...

خدا کے نام خدا کی ذات سے اے معبود! یہ عقیقہ فلاں کی طرف سے ہے۔۔۔
New born’s name should be mentioned in place of “Fulaa-nin” and if the aqeeqa is of a BOY then say…
فلاں کی جگہ اس بچے (یابچی) کانام لے اور پھر کہے۔۔۔

لَحْمُهَا بِلَحْمِهٖ، وَدَمُهَا بِدَمِهٖ وَعَظْمُهَا بِعَظْمِهٖ، اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا وِقَآءً لِّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ السَّلَامُ۔
...lahmuhaa bilahmihee, wadamuhaa bidamihee wa'azmuhaa bi'azmihee, allaahumma ij'alhaa wiqaa'an li-aali muhammadin 'alayhi wa-aalihi as-salaam.
…this meat is instead of his meat. This blood is instead of his blood and these bones are instead of his bones. O Allah. make it a protection for the family of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family.
۔۔۔اس کا گوشت اس کے گوشت کا اس کا خون اس کے خون کا اس کی ہڈیاں اس کی ہڈیوں کا بدلہ ہے اے معبود! تو اسے آل محمدؐ کے لئے حفاظت کا ذریعہ بنا ان پر اور ان کی آل پر سلام ہو۔
And if the aqeeqa is of a GIRL then you should say in this way…
اور اگر عقیقہ بچی کا ہو تو فلاں کی جگہ اس بچی کا نام لے اور پھر کہے اور پھر کہے۔۔۔

ایک اور حدیث میں ہے کہ یہ دعا پڑھے۔۔۔
يَا قَوْمِ اِنِّىْ بَرِىْٓءٌ مِمَّا تُشْرِكُوْنَ اِنِّىْ وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّذِىْ فَطَرَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ حَنِيْفًا مُسْلِمًا وَّمَا اَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ اِنَّ صَلٰوتِىْ وَنُسُكِىْ وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِىْ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ وَبِذٰلِكَ اُمِرْتُ وَاَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ مِنْكَ وَلَكَ بِسْمِ اللهِ وَبِاللهِ وَاللهُ اَكْبَرُ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَتَقَبَّلْ مِنْ فُلَانِ بْنِ فُلَانٍ۔
Yaa qawmi innee baree'un mimmaa tushrikoona innee wajjahtu wajhiya lillazee fatara as-samaawaati wal-arda haneefan musliman wamaa anaa mina al-mushrikeena inna salaatee wanusukee wamahyaaya wamamaatee lillaahi rabbi al-'aalameena laa shareeka lahoo wabizaalika umirtu wa-anaa mina al-muslimeen.
Allaahumma minka walaka bismi allaahi wabillaahi wallaahu akbar.
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammadin wataqabbal min fulaani ibni fulaan.
O gathering, I am free from what you associate; I turn my face to He who split the heavens and the earth, a true believer and a Muslim, and not one of the polytheists. My prayer, my piety, my living, and my dying are for God, the Lord of the Worlds. O God, from You and to You, in the Name of God; God is greater. O God, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and accept [this] from … (name of the child). Son / daughter of …… (name of the father).
اے میری قوم! میں بری ہوں اس سے جسے تم خدا کا شریک بناتے ہو میں نے اپنا رخ اس کی طرف کیا ہے جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا میں نراکھرا(خالص) مسلمان ہوں اور مشرکوں میں سے نہیں ہوں یقینًا میری نماز میری عبادت میری زندگی میری موت اﷲ کے لیےہے جوجہانوں کا رب ہے جس کا کوئی شریک نہیں یہی حکم مجھے دیا گیا ہے اور میں سر جھکانے والوں میں سے ہوں اے خدا تیرے لئے اور تجھ سے ہے خدا کے نام خدا کی ذات کے ساتھ اور اﷲ بزرگ تر ہے اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما محمدؐ و آلؑ محمدؐ پر اور فلاں ابن فلاں سے قبول فرما۔
