Welcome

New to Ipswich

As-salamu alaykum, and welcome. The Fatima Zahra Imamia Centre is a Shia community centre in North Ipswich. If you have only just arrived, this page is what the Centre publishes and who to ask for the rest.

Prayer times for North Ipswich

Fajr, sunrise, Zuhr, sunset, Maghrib and shar’i midnight, worked for North Ipswich, today and the week ahead. If you are wondering why the table shows three prayer times and not five, that is explained here.

What is on at the hall

The majalis and programmes coming up, as the committee has published them. The Hijri calendar carries the days of the year behind them.

Classes for children

The Centre runs a madrasah for the children of the congregation. Places are arranged by enquiry rather than a published intake, so the way in is to ask: the request form reaches the committee, and the secretary will tell you what is running.

How to reach the Centre

The hall is Qasr-e-Zahra (s.a), 80 Downs Street, North Ipswich QLD 4305. The contact page carries the one number the Centre publishes and how it is meant to be used: a call for something urgent, WhatsApp or a text for everything else.

Businesses run by the community

Trades, food, services and shops run by people here, listed in their own words. The Centre certifies nothing in a listing — halal status included — so please ask the business. If you run one, you can add it.

Links and learning

Apps worth having on your phone and places to keep learning, chosen by the committee.
