Comprehensive Dua

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, One and Only and having no associate. I also bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. I believe in Allah, in all of His messengers, and in all what has been revealed to all of the messengers. (I believe that) the promise of Allah is true, His meeting is true, Allah is always true, the messengers have conveyed, and all praise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds. All glory be to Allah whenever a thing glorifies Allah and as exactly as Allah likes to be glorified. All praise be to Allah whenever a thing praises Allah and as exactly as Allah likes to be praised. There is no god save Allah whenever a thing professes that there is no god save Allah and exactly as Allah likes to be professed that there is no god save Him. Allah is the Most Great whenever a thing professes that Allah is the Most Great and as exactly as Allah likes to be professed that He is the Most Great. O Allah, I beseech You for the keys to the good as well as its seals, its abundant quantities, its advantages, its blessings, the scope that I know about it, and the scope that is too much for me to retain.

میں گواہی دیتا ہوں نہیں معبود مگر اللہ جو یکتا ہے کوئی اس کا شریک نہیں اور گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمدؐ اس کے بندے اور رسولؐ ہیں، ایمان رکھتا ہوں اللہ پر اس کے تمام نبیوں پر اور اس چیز پر جو اس نے اپنے تمام نبیوں پر نازل فرمائی اور یہ کہ اللہ کا وعدہ حق ہے اور اس سے ملاقات حق ہے، اللہ نے سچ فرمایا اور نبیوں نے سچ پہنچایا۔ حمد ہے اللہ کے لئے جو جہانوں کا رب ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ پاک ہے جب بھی کوئی چیز اس کی پاکی بیان کرتی ہے جیسے وہ چاہتا ہے کہ اس کی پاکی بیان ہو، اور حمد ہے ﷲ کے لیے جب کوئی چیز اس کی حمد کرے جیسے وہ چاہتا ہے کہ اس کی حمد ہو، نہیں کوئی معبود سوائے اللہ کے، جب بھی کوئی چیز خدا کو معبود کہے جیسے وہ چاہتا ہے کہ اسے معبود کہا جائے، اللہ بزرگ تر ہے جب کوئی چیز اس کی بزرگی بیان کرے جیسے وہ چاہتا ہے کہ اسے بزرگ کہا جائے۔ اے معبود !میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں بھلائیوں کی کنجیوں کا ان کے انجام ان کے کامل ہونے اور ان کے فائدوں اور بر کتوں کا جن کو میرا علم جان نہ سکے اور میری یاد ان کو شمار نہ کر سکتی ہو۔

O Allah, (please) make clear for me the elements of recognizing it (i.e. the good), open before me the doors to it, cover me with the blessings of Your mercy, bestow upon me with protection against divergence from Your religion, and purify my heart from suspicion. (Please) do not make my heart to be preoccupied by my worldly affairs and my transient livelihood against the everlasting reward in my other world; rather, (please) make my heart to be occupied by retaining that which You do not accept to be ignored. And (please) make my tongue subservient to mentioning all virtuous items, purify my heart from ostentation, and do not allow ostentation to flow in my organs; rather, make all my deeds to be purely intended for Your sake. O Allah, I pray Your protection against the evil and all sorts of indecencies; those of them which are apparent, those which are concealed, and those which are committed inattentively, as well as whatever Satan the accursed and the obstinate ruling authority want me to commit; i.e. things that Your knowledge has encompassed. You positively have the power to dispel all that from me.

اے معبود !میرے لئے خیر کو جاننے کے وسیلے فراہم کر دے اور مجھ پر اس کی راہیں کھول دے، مجھے اپنی رحمت کی چھاؤں میں رکھ، مجھ پر یہ احسان فرما کہ میں تیرے دین سے ہٹنے نہ پاؤں، میرے دل سے شک دور کر دے، میرے دل کو اس دنیا اور عارضی زندگی میں نہ لگنے دے کہ وہ آخرت کے دائمی ثواب کو بھول نہ جائے، میرے دل کو اس چیز میں لگا دے کہ جس کا نہ جاننا تجھے منظور نہیں ،میری زبان کو ہر اچھائی کے لیے نرم کر دے، میرے دل کو نمائش سے پاک کر اور اسے میرے اعضا میں نہ آنے دے اور ایسا کر کہ میرا عمل خاص تیرے لئے ہو۔ اے معبود! میں تیری پناہ لیتا ہوں برائی اور ہر طرح کی بے حیائی سے جوظاہر و پوشیدہ ہے اور وہ جو یاد میں نہیں ان باتوں سے جن میں دھتکارے ہوئے شیطان نے میرا ارادہ کیا اور جن باتوں میں دشمنی رکھنے والے حاکم نے میرا قصد کیا کہ جو تیرے علم میں ہے اور انہیں مجھ سے دور کرنے کی قدرت رکھتا ہے۔

O Allah, I pray Your protection against the striking of jinn and human beings as well as against their violent commotions, calamities, conspiracies, and the fields used by the wicked jinn and human beings. I also pray Your protection lest I am led astray from my religion and thus my result will be worthless in the Hereafter, or they (i.e. the wicked jinn and human beings) may cause damage to my livelihood, or they may inflict me with tribulation that I can neither tolerate nor stand patiently. So, O my God, I please You not to make me suffer from such things; lest, they may stand against remembering You or take my entire attention against serving You. Yet, it is You Who can protect, guard, defend, and preserve me from all that. I beseech You, O Allah, for luxury in my life as long as You keep me alive; such life by which I can be strong enough to obey You, to attain Your pleasure, and to guarantee my eternal other life in the morrow. (Please) do not provide me with sustenance due to which I may become inordinate and do not test me on poverty by which I may be miserable and straitened; rather, (please) grant me abundant share in my otherworldly life and expansive, pleasant, and enjoyable living in my worldly life. Do not cause this world to be like prison for me and do not cause my departure from it to be grief for me; rather, protect me against its charms and decide my deeds in it to be acceptable and my efforts in it to be praiseworthy.

اے معبود! میں تیری پناہ لیتا ہوں جن و انس کے حملوں سے اور ان کے پیروکاروں ان کی بد مستیوں ان کے حیلوں اور جن و انس میں سے آٹپکنے والے بد کاروں سے اور اس سے کہ دین میں لغزش کھا جاؤں اور میری آخرت خراب ہو جائے ایسا نہ ہو کہ اس کی طرف سے میری زندگی کو نقصان پہنچ جائے یا ان کے ہاتھوں میں کسی سختی میں پڑ جاؤں کہ اسے برداشت نہ کر سکوں اور اس میں صبر نہ کر پاؤں، پس اے اللہ تو مجھے اس سختی میں نہ ڈالنا کہ وہ مجھ کو تیری یاد سے روک دے اور تیری بندگی سے ہٹا دے، ہاں تو ہی اس سے بچانے والا، اس سے روکنے والا، دور کرنے والا اور اس سے بچانے والا ہے۔ سوال کرتا ہوں اے معبود! کہ میری زندگی میں ایسی معاشی آسودگی عطا فرما کہ جس سے میں تیری اطاعت کرنے کی طاقت پاؤں اور یوں تیری خوشنودی حاصل کروں پھر کل کو ابدی زندگی تک جا پہنچوں، مجھے ایسی روزی نہ دے کہ سر کش بنوں اور نہ ہی ایسے فقر میں مبتلا کر کہ تنگی میں پڑ کے بدبخت ہو جاؤں تو مجھے آخرت میں زیادہ حصہ دے دنیا میں کشادہ خوش گوار اور بہتر روزی نصیب فرما اور دنیا کو میرے لئے قید خانہ نہ بنا نہ ہی اس سے جدائی میرے لئے غم کا سبب بنے ، مجھے اس کے فتنوں سے بچا اس میں میرے عمل کو قبول فرما اور میری کوشش کو پسندیدہ قرار دے۔

O Allah, thwart whoever desires evil for me with similar evil, frustrate whoever intends to deceive me, dispel from me the grief caused to me by any one, plot against whoever wants to plot against me, for You are the best of planners, and gouge out on behalf of me the eyes of the disbelievers, the wrongdoers, the tyrants, and the envious ones. O Allah, (please) descend on me tranquility from You, dress me Your invulnerable armor, safeguard me with Your preventive covering, expand over me Your useful wellbeing, harmonize between my words and my deeds, and bless me in my children, family members (or my wife), and property. O Allah, as for whatever I have done in advance, whatever I have put off, whatever I have committed inattentively or deliberately, whatever I have neglected, and whatever I have done openly or secretly, (please) forgive me all that, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.

اے معبود! جو مجھ سے برائی کا ارادہ کرے تو بھی اس سے ایسا ہی کر، جو مجھے فریب دیتا ہے تو بھی اسے فریب میں ڈال، جو مجھے ڈراتا ہے اس کا ڈر میرے د ل سے نکال دے اور جو مجھے پھنسا دے کہ یقیناً تو اچھی تدبیر والا ہے، تو میری طرف سے کافروں ظالموں اور سرکشوں، حاسدوں کی آنکھیں نکال دے۔ اے معبود !مجھ پر اپنی طرف سے تسلی کا نزول فرما مجھ کو اپنی محکم تر زرہ پہنا دے، اپنے باطنی امر کے ساتھ میری حفاظت فرما، مجھے اپنی بہترین عافیت میں چھپا دے، میرے قول و فعل کو سچا ثابت کر دے، میری اولاد میرے خاندان اور مال میں برکت دے۔ اے معبود! جو میں بھیج چکا ہوں جو بھیج رہا ہوں جس سے غفلت برتی ہے جو دانستہ کیا جس میں سستی دکھائی ہے جو کچھ ظاہرًا کیا جو چھپ کر کیا وہ بخش دے، اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔

Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.

اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
