Covenant with Almighty Allah
خداے تعالیٰ سے عہد کی دعا
Tusi, Kaf’ami, and other scholars have reported that the Holy Prophet (s) said to his companions, “Will you be too feeble to make a covenant with Almighty Allah every morning and evening?” “How can we do that?” they asked. The Holy Prophet (s) instructed, “You may say this supplicatory covenant. When you do so, the covenant will be sealed and put under the Divine Throne. On the Resurrection Day, a caller will call out at those who have made a covenant with the All-beneficent Lord. You will be then given that covenant and allowed to enter Paradise.” Shaikh Tusi has mentioned this supplicatory covenant to be said after the Dawn (Fajr) Prayers…
شيخ طوسیؒ ،کفعمیؒ اور ديگر علماء نے حضرت رسول خداؐ سے روايت کی ہے آنحضرتؐ نے اپنے اصحاب سے فرمايا :آيا تم اس بات سے عاجز ہوکہ ہر صبح و شام خداے تعالیٰ سے عہد لے لو؟ انہوں نے عرض کيا کہ ہم کس طرح عہد ليں؟ آپؐ نے فرمايا کہ يہ دُعا پڑھا کرو کيونکہ جو شخص يہ دعا پڑھے تو اس پر مہر لگادی جاتی ہے اور اسے عرش الٰہی کے نيچے رکھ ديا جاتا ہے، پس جب قيامت کا دن ہوگا تو ايک منادی آواز دے گا کہ کہاں ہيں وه لوگ جنہوں نے خدا سے عہد ليا ہے تا کہ وه عہد انہيں ديا جائے اور اسی کے ساتھ وه جنت میں داخل ہوں گے۔ شيخ طوسیؒ نے يہ دعا نماز فجر کی تعقيبات میں ذکر کی ہے اور وه دعا يہ ہے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الرَّحْمٰنَ الرَّحِيْمَ اَعْهَدُ اِلَيْكَ فِىْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا اَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ وَاَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهٖ عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُوْلُكَ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ وَلَا تَكِلْنِىْ اِلٰى نَفْسِىْ طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ اَبَدَا وَلَا اِلٰى اَحَدٍ مِّنْ خَلْقِكَ فَاِنَّكَ اِنْ وَكَلْتَنِىْ اِلَيْهَا تُبَاعِدْنِىْ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ وَتُقَرِّبْنِىْ مِنَ الشَّرِّ اَىْ رَبِّ لَا اَثِقُ اِلَّا بِرَحْمَتِكَ فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهِ الطَّيِّبِيْنَ وَاجْعَلْ لِىْ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا تُؤَدِّيْهِ اِلَىَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ اِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيْعَادَ۔
Allaahumma faate-ris samaa-waate wal arze ‘aale-mal ghaibe wash shaada-tir rahmaa-nar raheema a’hado ilaiy-ka fee haaze-hid dunyaa anna-ka antal-laaho laa ilaaha illaa anta wahda-ka laa shareeka laka wa anna mohammadan sallal-laaho ‘alaiy-he wa aale ‘ab-doka wa rasoolo-ka.
Allaahumma fa-salle ‘alaa mohammadiw wa aale-hi wa laa takil-ni ilaa nafsee tar-fata a’ineen aba-da walaa ilaa ah-din min khalqe-ka fa-innaka in wa kalta-nee ilaiy-haa tobaa’idnee menal khaire wa to-qarrib-nee me-nash sharre ay rabbe laa ase-qo illaa be-rehmate-ka fa-salle ‘alaa mohammadiw wa aale-hit taiyye-bina waj’al lee ‘inda-ka ‘ahdan to-addee-he ilaiyya yau-mil qiyaama-te inna-ka laa tukhle-ful mee’aad.
O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate: I pledge to You in this world that You are Allah there is no god but You alone, with no partner and that Muhammad, may Allah bless him and his family, is Your servant and Your Messenger. O Allah, so send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and never leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye nor to any of Your creation. For if You were to leave me to it, it would distance me from good and bring me near to evil. O my Lord, I trust in nothing except Your mercy. So send blessings upon Muhammad and his pure family, and make for me, with You, a covenant that You will fulfill for me on the Day of Resurrection. Surely You do not break Your promise.
اے معبود! اے آسمانون اور زمین کے خالق، اے نہاں و عياں کے جاننے والے بڑے رحم والے مہربان میں اس دنيا میں تيرے ساتھ عہد کرتا ہوں يقيناً تو وه الله ہے کہ تيرے سوا کوئی معبود نہيں تو يکتا ہے تيرا کوئی شريک نہيں اور حضرت محمد صلی الله عليہ وآلہ وسلم تيرے بندے اور رسول ہيں، پس اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما محمدؐ اور ان کی آلؑ پر اور تو مجھے پلک جھپکنے تک بھی کبھی ميرے نفس کے حوالے نہ کراور نہ مخلوق میں سے کسی کے سپرد کر پس اگر تو نے مجھے ان کے حوالے کيا تو مجھے خير ونيکی سے دور اور شرو بدی کے قريب کر دے گا۔ اے پروردگار! تيری رحمت کے سوا مجھے کسی پر بھر وسا نہيں پس رحمت فرما محمدؐ اور ان کی پاک اولادؑپر اور ميرا عہد اپنے پاس رکھ جوتو روز قيامت مجھے واپس کرے بے شک تو وعدے کے خلاف نہيں کرتا۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
