امام جعفر صادقؑ سے مروی ہے کہ امير المومنين علی ابن ابی طالبؑ جب زوال سے فارغ ہوجاتے تو کہا کرتے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَيْكَ بِجُوْدِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ وَاَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَيْكَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُوْلِكَ وَاَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَيْكَ بِمَلَّاۗئِكَتِكَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ وَاَنْۢبِيَّاۗئِكَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَبِكَ اللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ الْغَنِىُّ عَنِّىْ وَبِىَ الْفَاقَةُ اِلَيْكَ اَنْتَ الْغَنِىُّ عَنِّىْ وَاَنَا الْفَقِيْرُ اِلَيْكَ اَقَلْتَنِىْ عَثْرَتِىْ وَسَتَرْتَ عَلَىَّ ذُنُوْبِىْ فَاقْضِ الْيَوْمَ حَاجَتِىْ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْنِىْ بِقَبِيْحِ مَا تَعْلَمُ مِنِّىْ بَلْ عَفْوُكَ وَجُوْدُكَ يَسَعُنِىْ۔
Allaahumma innee ata-qarra-bo ilaiy-ka be-joode-ka wa karame-ka wa ata-qarra-bo ilaiy-ka be-mohammadin ‘ab-deka wa rasoole-ka wa ata-karra-bo ilaiy-ka be-mallaaa-e-kate-kal moqarra-beena wa ambe-yaaa-e-kal mur-salee-na wa be-kal laahumma antal ghaniyyo ‘annee wa be-yal faaqa-to ilaiy-ka antal ghaniyyo ‘annee wa anal faqee-ro ilaiy-ka aqal-tanee ‘ash-ratee wa satar-ta ‘alaiy-ya zonoo-bee faaq-zil yaw-ma haaja-tee wa laa to’azzib-nee be-qabee-he maa ta’lamo minnee bal ‘afwo-ka wa joo-doka yasa’o-nee.
O Allah, I seek closeness towards you through your goodness and generosity, and I closeness towards you through Muhammad; your servant and messenger, and I seek closeness towards you through your closest most dearest angles, prophets and apostles; That to send your blessings onto Muhammed your servant and messenger and onto Muhammad’s progeny, That so you let go of what I have stumbled upon and that you cover my sins and you forgive them for me and grant me my needs and do not torment me due to the filth of what was done by me, For your mercy and generosity suffices me.
اے معبود!ميں تيرا قرب چاہتا ہوں تيری عطا و بخشش کے ذريعے تيرا قرب چاہتا ہوں تيرے بندے اور رسول محمدؐ کے ذريعے سے اور تيرا قرب چاہتا ہوں تيرے مقرب فرشتوں سے اور تيرے بھيجے ہوئے نبييوںؑ سے اور تيرے ذريعے سے۔ اے معبود! تو مجھ سے بے نيازہے اور ميں تيرا محتاج ہوں، تو صاحب مال اور ميں تجھ سے مانگنے والا ہوں، تونے ميری خطائوں سے در گزر کی اورميرے گناہوں کو ڈھانپا پس آج ميری حاجت پوری فرما، تو ميری جس برائی کوجانتا ہے اس کی سزا نہ دے کہ تيری معافی اور عطا نے گھيراہوا ہے۔
He would then prostrate himself and say the following supplicatory prayer…
پھر حضرت سر سجدے ميں رکھتے اور کہتے۔۔۔
يَا اَهْلَ التَّقْوٰى وَيَا اَهْلَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ يَا بَرُّ يَا رَحِيْمُ اَنْتَ اَبَرُّبِىْ مِنْ اَبِىْ وَاُمِّىْ وَمِنْ جَمِيْعِ الْخَلَايِقِ اِقْلِبْنِىْ بِقَضَاۗءِ حَاجَتِىْ مُجَابًا دُعَاۗئِىْ مَرْحُوْمًا صَوْتِىْ قَدْ كَشَفْتَ اَنْوَاعَ الْبَلَّاۗءِ عَنِّىْ۔
Yaa ah-lat taqwaa wa yaa ah-lal magh-fera-te yaa barro yaa rahee-mo anta abar-ronee min abee wa ummee wa min jamee’il khalaa-yeqe iq-lib-nee be-qazaaa-e haaja-tee mojaa-ban du’aaa-ee marhoo-man saw-tee qad ka-shaf-ta anwaa’al ballaaa-e annee.
O People of Piety, O People of Forgiveness. O Benevolent, O Merciful. You are more benevolent to me than my father and mother. And more than all of creation. Return me with the fulfillment of my need. With my supplication answered and my voice blessed. You have removed all types of trials from me.
اے بچانے والے، اے بخشش دينے والے، اے نيکيوں والے، اے مہربان، تو مجھ پر ميرے ماں باپ پر اور ساری مخلوق سے بڑھ کر مہربان ہے، مجھے پلٹا حاجت بر آری کے ساتھ، ميری دعا قبول فرما ميری آواز پر رحم کر کہ تو نے طرح طرح کی بلائيں مجھ سے دور کی ہيں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
