Dua-e-Wasila
دُعاء وسیلہ
Dua-e-Wasila is a supplication of tawassul, seeking nearness to Allah through the Ahl al-Bayt (a). In it the reciter calls upon Allah by the right (haqq) and status of Muhammad, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, Husayn, and the nine pure Imams from the progeny of Husayn (a), each named alongside one of Allah's own attributes.
In the Shia tradition this dua is recited after Ziyarat Ashura and is attributed to Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a). Tawassul itself is understood as an ancient means of drawing near to Allah, the same wasila by which, it is narrated, the Prophet Adam (a) sought forgiveness.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَنْتَ الْمَحْمُوْدُ وَبِحَقِّ عَلِیٍّ وَاَنْتَ الْاَعْلٰی وَبِحَقِّ فَاطِمَۃَ وَاَنْتَ فَاطِرُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَبِحَقِّ الْحَسَنِ وَاَنْتَ الْمُحْسِنُ وَبِحَقِّ الْحُسَیْنِ وَاَنْتَ قَدِیْمُ الْاِحْسَانِ وَبِحَقِّ الْاَئِمَّۃِ التِّسْعَۃِ الطَّاهِرِیْنَ مِنْ ذُرِّیَّۃِ الْحُسَیْنِ عَلَیْهِمُ السَّلَامُ۔
Allaahumma innee as-asloka be-haqqe mohammadin wa antal mahmoodo, wa be-haqqe a’liyyin wa antal aa’laa, wa be-haqqe faate-mata wa anta faate-rus samaa-waate wal arze, wa be-haqqil hasane wa antal moh-seno, wa be-haqqil husaine wa anta qadee-mul eh-saane, wa be-haqqil aimma-tit tis-a’tit taahe-reena min zurree-yatil husaine alaiy-his salaamo.
O Allah, I ask You by the right (status) of Muhammad while You are the Ever-Praised; and by the right of Ali while You are the Most High; and by the right of Fatimah while You are the Originator of the heavens and the earth; and by the right of Hasan while You are the Beneficent (the One who does good); and by the right of Husayn while You are the Eternal Source of kindness and beneficence; and by the right of the nine pure Imams from the progeny of Husayn peace be upon them.
بار الٰہا! میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں محمدؐ کے حق کے واسطے سے اور تو محمود ہے، اور علیؑ کے حق کے واسطے سے اور تو اعلٰی ہے، اور فاطمہؐ کے حق کے واسطے سے اور تو فاطر زمین و آسمان کا بنانے والا ہے، اور حسنؑ کے حق کے واسطے سے اور تو محسن عالم ہے، اور حسینؑ کے حق کے واسطے سے اور تیری ذات صاحب احسان قدیم ہے اور ان نو پاکیزہ اماموں کے حق کے واسطے سے جو اولاد امام حسینؑ ہیں (میری یہ دعا کو قبول فرما)۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
