معاویہ ابن عمار سے منقول ہے کہ میں نے امام جعفر صادق ؑ کی خدمت میں عرض کیا : آیا آپ مجھے مخصوص دعا تعلیم نہیں فرمائیں گے؟ حضرت ؑ نے فرمایا: کیوں نہیں؟ تم یہ دعا پڑھا کرو۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
يَا وَاحِدُ يَا مَاجِدُ يَا اَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهٗ كُفُوًا اَحَدٌ يَا عَزِيْزُ يَا كَرِيْمُ يَا حَنَّانُ يَا سَامِعَ الدَّعَوَاتِ يَا اَجْوَدَ مَنْ سُئِلَ وَيَا خَيْرَ مَنْ اَعْطٰى يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ قُلْتَ (وَلَقَدْنَا دَانَا نُوْحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ الْمُجِيْبُوْنَ)۔
Yaa waahe-do, yaa maaje-do, yaa aha-do, yaa sama-do, yaa man lam yalid wa lam yoo-lad wa lam ya-kun lahu kofo-wan aha-doon, yaa ‘azeezo, yaa kareemo, yaa hannaa-no, yaa saame’ad da’a-waate, yaa ajwada man so-e-la wa yaa khaira man a’taa, yaa allaaho, yaa allaaho, yaa allaaho qulta (wa la-qadnaa daanaa noo-hoon fala-ne’mal mojee-boon).
O One! O Glorious! O One and Only! O Eternally besought of all! O He Who begets not nor is He begotten and none is like Him! O Almighty! O All-generous! O All-tender! O Hearer of prayers! O most magnanimous of all those who may donate and best of all those who may give! O Allah! O Allah! O Allah! You have said, “And Noah did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer We are.”
اے یگانہ !اے بزرگوار، اے یکتا، اے بے نیاز، اے وہ جس نے نہ جنا نہ وہ جنا گیا اور نہ ہی کوئی اس کا ہم سر ہے، اے با عزت، اے سخی، اے مہربان، اے دعاؤں کے سننے والے، اے سب سے سخی جن سے سوال ہوتا ہے، اے عطا کرنے والوں میں بہتر، یا اللہ یا اللہ یا اللہ تو نے فرمایا ہے کہ نوح ؑ نے ہمیں پکارا تو ہم کیا ہی اچھے قبول کرنے والے ہیں۔

پھر آپؑ نے فرمایا کہ رسول خدا ؐ یہ بھی کہا کرتے تھے۔۔۔
نَعَمْ لَنِعْمَ الْمُجِيْبُ اَنْتَ وَنِعْمَ الْمَدْعُوُّ وَنِعْمَ الْمَسْؤُلُ اَسْئَلُكَ بِنُوْرِ وَجْهِكَ وَاَسْئَلُكَ بِعِزَّتِكَ وَقُدْرَتِكَ وَجَبَرُوْتِكَ وَاَسْئَلُكَ بِمَلَكُوْتِكَ وَدِرْعِكَ الْحَصِيْنَةِ وَبِجَمْعِكَ وَاَرْكَانِكَ كُلِّهَا وَبِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّبِحَقِّ الْاَوْصِيَاۗءِ بَعْدَ مُحَمَّدٍ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَنْ تَفْعَلَ بِىْ كَذَا وَكَذَا۔
Na’am la-ne’mal mojee-bo anta wa ne’mal mad’oowo wa ne’mal mas-oolo as-aloka be-noore waj-heka wa as-aloka be-izza-teka wa qudrate-ka wa jaba-roote-ka wa as-aloka be-mala-koote-ka wa dir‘e-kal hasee-nate wa be-jam‘e-ka wa ar-kaane-ka kulle-haa wa be-haqqe mohammadiw wa be-haqqil aw-seyaaa-e ba’da mohammadin an to-salle-ya ‘alaa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin wa an taf’ala bee kazaa wa kazaa.
Yes indeed! Most excellent answerer of prayer You are. Most excellent besought One You are! Most excellent prayed One You are! I beseech You in the name of the brilliance of Your Face, I beseech You in the name of Your almightiness, omnipotence, and grandeur, and I beseech You in the name of Your sovereign power, Your invulnerable armor, Your wholeness, all of Your supports, in the name of Muhammad, and in the name of the successors after Muhammad to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
ہاں ضرور تو اچھا قبول کرنے والا ہے، تو اچھا پکارا جانے والا ہے اور اچھا سوال کیے جانے والا ہے، تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں تیری نوری ذات کے واسطے سے سوال کرتا ہوں تیری عزت تیری قدرت اور اقتدار کے واسطے سے سوال کرتا ہوں تیری بادشاہی تیری محکم زرہ تیری تمام چیزوں اور تیرے پیدا کردہ عناصر کے واسطے سے اور حضرت محمدؐ اور ان کے اوصیاؑ کے حق کے واسطے سے یہ کہ تو درود بھیج محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر اور میری یہ اور یہ حاجت پوری فرما۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
You may now pray for your needs.
اب اپنی حاجت طلب کرے۔
