فضل ابن یونس کہتے ہیں : امام موسی کاظم ؑ نے مجھ سے فرمایا : یہ دعا کثرت سے پڑھا کرو۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلَنِىْ مِنَ الْمَعَارِيْنَ وَلَا تُخْرِجْنِىْ مِنَ التُّقَتِّصِيْرِ۔
Allaahumma laa taj’ala-nee menal ma’aa-reena wa laa tukh-rij-nee menat to-qatte-seer.
O Allah, (please) do not make me of the unfixed-hearted and do not make me feel not negligent.
اے معبود! مجھے ان لوگوں میں نہ رکھ جن کا ایمان کچا ہے اور مجھے کوتاہی کرنے والوں میں سے شمار نہ کر۔
To explain, the first statement is a prayer for not including with those whose faith is as irregular as loans, which means that faith is not fixed in their hearts. However, the statement may also stand for a prayer for not including with those whom are relegated to themselves and Allah the Almighty has no interference in their affairs, just like a horse whose rein is thrown freely on its wither and is left to graze uncontrollably. The second statement is a prayer for not including with those who feel themselves to have carried out their duties towards their Lord flawlessly. In fact, one must always feel that he cannot carry out his duties towards his Lord fully whatever efforts he would exert.
یعنی اے پروردگار! مجھے ان لوگوں میں نہ رکھ جن کا ایمان عاریہ و بے ثبات ہے یا ایسے لوگ کہ جن کو تو نے بے مہار شتر کی طرح چھوڑ دیا ہے کہ جہاں چاہیں چرتے پھریں اور جہاں چاہیں چلے جائیں اور مجھ کو تقصیر سے باہر نہ نکال یعنی مجھے ایسا نہ بنا دے کہ خود کو قصور وار نہ سمجھوں بلکہ ایسا بنا کہ ہمیشہ خود کو تیرے حضور کوتاہی کرنے والا اور ناقص عمل والا تصور کروں۔
