Dua of Imam Husain (a) on the day of Ashura
دعائے امام حسین (ع) روز عاشورا
This is the supplicatory prayer the Holy Prophet (s) said on the days of the Battle of Badr and the Battle of the Allies (i.e. al-Ahzab). The chief of martyrs; namely, Imam al-Husayn (a), also said this supplicatory prayer in Karbala’ on the ‘Ashura’ Day. Furthermore, two more supplicatory prayers were said by Imam al-Husayn (a) on that day. The first one is the supplicatory prayer he taught to his son Imam Zayn al-’Abidin (a) when he embraced him to his chest while blood was gushing from his body. مؤ لف کہتے ہیں: یہ وہی دعا ہے جو حضرت رسول خدا ؐنے بدر اور خندق کی جنگو ں کے مو قع پر پڑ ھی تھی اور سید الشھداؑء نے عاشورا کے دن پڑھی تھی۔ اس کے علا وہ دو اور دعا ئیں بھی ہیں جو آپ نے یوم ِعاشور کو پڑھیں ان میں سے ایک وہ ہے جو آپ نے امام زین العابدینؑ کو تعلیم فرمائی جب کہ آپ ؑ کے بدن سے خون بہ رہا تھا پس آپؑ نے امام سجا د ؑ کو سینہ سے لگا کر یہ دعا تعلیم فرمائی جو اہم حاجتوں اور سخت مصیبتوں اور ھمّ وغم کو دور کر نے کے لئے ہے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
بِحَقِّ يٰس وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيْمِ وَبِحَقِّ طٰهٰ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْعَظِيْمِ يَا مَنْ يَّقْدِرُ عَلٰى حَوَائِجِ السَّائِلِيْنَ يَا مَنْ يَّعْلَمُ مَا فِي الضَّمِيْرِ يَا مُنَفِّسًا عَنِ الْمَكْرُوْبِيْنَ يَا مُفَرِّجًا عَنِ الْمَغْمُوْمِيْنَ يَا رَاحِمَ الشَّيْخِ الْكَبِيْرِ يَا رَازِقَ الطِّفْلِ الصَّغِيْرِ يَا مَنْ لَّا يَحْتَاجُ اِلَى التَّفْسِيْرِ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَافْعَلْ بِيْ۔
BE-HAQQE YAASIN WAL-QUR-AA-NIL HAKEEME, WA BE-HAQQE TAA-HAA WAL-QUR-AA-NIL A’ZEEME, YAA MAIY-YAQ-DERO A’LAA HAWAA'e JIS SAA'e LEENA, YAA MAIY-YA’LAMO MAA FIZ-ZAMEE-RE YAA MO-NAFFE-SAN A’NIL MAKROO-BEENA YAA MO-FARRE-JAN A’NIL MAGH-MOO-MEENA, YAA RAAHE-MASH SHAIY-KHIL KABEERE, YAA RAAZE-QAT TIF-LIS SAGHEE-RE YAA MAN LAA YAH-TAAJO ILAT TAF-SEERE SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN WAF-A’L-BEE.
By the truth of Yaseen (a title of the Holy Prophet) and the Quran full of wisdom And for the sake of Taa-haa (another title of the Holy Prophet) and the great Quran. O He Who is able to fulfill the desires of those ask. O He Who knows what is in the heart. O He Who banishes sorrow from the sorrowful. O He Who dispels grief from those who grieve. O He Who is merciful to old men. O He Who provides for infants. O He Who needs not to be explained. Send blessings upon Muhammad and his progeny and fulfill for me.
واسطہ دیتا ہو ں یٰسین اور قرآن حکیم کا اور واسطہ دیتا ہوں طہٰ و قرآن عظیم کا اے وہ جو سوال کرنے والوں کی حاجتوں پر قادر ہے اے وہ کہ دلوں کی باتیں جانتاہے اور دکھیاروں کے دکھ دور کرتا ہے اورغم زدوں کے غم مٹاتا ہے اے بوڑ ھوں پر رحم کرنے والے اے چھوٹے بچوں کوروزی دینے والے اے وہ جسے شرح وبیان کی ضرورت نہیں رحمت فرما سر کار محمدؐ و آلؑ محمدؐ پر اور میری یہ اور یہ حاجات پوری فرما۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
You may now pray for your needs.
اب اپنی حاجت طلب کرے۔
