عبد الرحمن بن حجاج سے روایت ہے کہ امام جعفر صادقؑ جب رات کے آخری حصے میں بیدار ہوکر اٹھ کھڑے ہوتے تو یہ دعا اتنی بلند آواز سے پڑھتے کہ گھر کے تمام افراد سن لیتے۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعِنِّىْ عَلٰى هَوْلِ الْمُطَّلَعِ وَ وَسِّعْ عَلَىَّ ضِيْقَ الْمَضْجَعِ وَارْزُقْنِىْ خَيْرَ مَا قَبْلَ الْمَوْتِ وَارْزُقْنِىْ خَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ۔
ALLAAHUMMA A'INNEE 'ALAA HAWLI AL-MUTTALA'I WA WASSI' 'ALAYYA DEEQA AL-MADJA'I WARZUQNEE KHAYRA MAA QABLA AL-MAWTI WARZUQNEE KHAYRA MAA BA'DA AL-MAWT.
O Allah, help me stand the horror of the after-death scene, expand for me the narrow abode, provide me with the welfare of what is before death, and provide me with the welfare of what is after death.
اے معبود! پیش آمدہ ہولناکیوں میں مدد فرما میری قبر کی تنگی کو کشادگی میں بدل دینا اور موت سے پہلے مجھے بھلائی عطا کرنا اور موت کے بعد بھی بھلائی نصیب فرمانا۔
