Dystocia (Pregnancy)

حاملہ

1. For women suffering from dystocia (i.e difficult or abnormally painful childbirth), the following holy verses may be written on a parchment and tied to their right thigh. It must be untied after they give birth…

   چمڑے کے ایک ٹکڑے پر یہ آیات لکھے اور اس عورت کی دائیں ران پر باندھے۔ جب بچہ پیدا ہو جائے تو یہ تعویذ اتار دے۔

2. بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

   BISMI ALLAAHI AR-RAHMAANI AR-RAHEEM

   In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

   اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

3. كَاَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوْعَدُوْنَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوْٓا اِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّن نَّهَارٍۢ۔ كَاَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوْٓا اِلَّا عَشِيَّةً اَوْ ضُحٰهَا۔ اِذْ قَالَتِ امْرَاَتُ عِمْرٰنَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْ نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِيْ بَطْنِيْ مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّيْٓۚ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ۔

   KA-ANNAHUM YAWMA YARAWNA MAA YOO'ADOONA LAM YALBATHOO ILLAA SAA'ATAN MIN NAHAAR. KA-ANNAHUM YAWMA YARAWNAHAA LAM YALBATHOO ILLAA 'ASHIYYATAN AW DUHAAHAA. IZ QAALATI IMRA'ATU 'IMRAANA RABBI INNEE NAZARTU LAKA MAA FEE BATNEE MUHARRARAN FATAQABBAL MINNEE INNAKA ANTA AS-SAMEE'U AL-'ALEEM.

   On the day that they shall see what they are promised, they shall be as if they had not tarried save an hour of the day. On the day that they see it, it will be as though they had not tarried but the latter part of a day or the early part of it. When a woman of `Imran said: My Lord! Surely, I vow to You what is in my womb, to be devoted (to Your service); accept therefore from me. Surely, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.

   جب یہ لوگ وعدہ شدہ قیامت دیکھیں گے وہ سمجھیں گے کہ یہاں دن کا کچھ حصہ رہے ہیں جب وہ اس دن کو دیکھیں گے تو جانیں گے کہ یہاں ایک صبح یا شام رہے ہیں جب عمران کی زوجہ نے کہا کہ پروردگارا!میرے پیٹ میں جو بچہ ہے میں اسے آزاد کر کے تیری نذر کرتی ہوں پس میری طرف سے قبول فرما کہ بے شک تو سننے والا اور جاننے والا ہے۔

4. It is also reported that the following holy verses (19:23-25) should be recited over women suffering from dystocia…

   مزیدیہ بھی مروی ہے کہ وضع حمل کے وقت اس عورت کے پاس یہ آیات(سورۂ مریم ۲۳، ۲۴، ۲۵) پڑھے۔۔۔

5. بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

   BISMI ALLAAHI AR-RAHMAANI AR-RAHEEM

   In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

   اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

6. فَاَجَآءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ اِلٰى جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يٰلَيْتَنِيْ مِتُّ قَبْلَ هٰذَا وَكُنْتُ نَسْيًا مَّنْسِيًّا

   FA-AJAA'AHAA AL-MAKHAADU ILAA JIZ'I AN-NAKHLATI QAALAT YAA LAYTANEE MITTU QABLA HAAZAA WAKUNTU NASYAN MANSIYYAA

   And the throes (of childbirth) compelled her to betake herself to the trunk of a palm tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten!

   پھر وضع حمل کا وقت انہیں ایک کھجور کی شاخ کے قریب لے آیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اے کاش میں اس سے پہلے ہی مر گئی ہوتی اور بالکل فراموش کردینے کے قابل ہوگئی ہوتی۔

7. فَنَادٰهَا مِنْ تَحْتِهَآ اَلَّا تَحْزَنِيْ قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا

   FANAADAAHAA MIN TAHTIHAA ALLAA TAHZANEE QAD JA'ALA RABBUKI TAHTAKI SARIYYAA

   Then (the child) called out to her from beneath her: Grieve not, surely your Lord has made a stream to flow beneath you;

   تو اس نے نیچے سے آواز دی کہ آپ پریشان نہ ہوں خدا نے آپ کے قدموں میں چشمہ جاری کردیا ہے۔

8. وَهُزِّيْٓ اِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا

   WAHUZZEE ILAYKI BIJIZ'I AN-NAKHLATI TUSAAQIT 'ALAYKI RUTABAN JANIYYAA

   And shake towards you the trunk of the palmtree, it will drop on you fresh ripe dates:

   اور خرمے کی شاخ کو اپنی طرف ہلائیں اس سے تازہ تازہ خرمے گر پڑیں گے۔

9. The reciter should also recite the statement following it…

   اس کے بعد با آواز بلند یہ آیت(نحل ۷۸) پڑھے۔۔۔

10. وَاللهُ اَخْرَجَكُم مِّنْۢ بُطُوْنِ اُمَّهٰتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ شَيْئًا وَّجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْاَبْصَارَ وَالْاَفْئِدَةَۙ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ كَذٰلِكَ اُخْرُجْ اَيُّهَا الطِّلْقُ اُخْرُجْ بِاِذْنِ اللهِ۔

    WALLAAHU AKHRAJAKUM MIN BUTOONI UMMAHAATIKUM LAA TA'LAMOONA SHAY'AN WAJA'ALA LAKUMU AS-SAM'A WAL-ABSAARA WAL-AF'IDATA LA'ALLAKUM TASHKUROONA KAZAALIKA UKHRUJ AYYUHAA AT-TILQU UKHRUJ BI-IZNI ALLAAH.

    And Allah has brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers; you did not know anything; and He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you may give thanks.” So, come out O throes. Come out, by the permission of Allah.

    اور اللہ نے تمہیں تمہاری ماؤں کے شکموں سے نکالا کہ اس وقت تم کچھ بھی نہ جانتے تھے اور اس نے تمہیں کان دئیے آنکھیں عطا کیں اور دل عطا کیا تا کہ تم اس کا شکر ادا کرو، اسی طرح اے درد زہ! نکل جا، حکمِ خدا سے نکل جا۔

11. For easy childbirth, Imam Sadiq (a) is reported to have advised of writing the following supplicatory prayer on a sheet of paper or a parchment…

    اس ضمن میں حضرت امام جعفر صادقؑ سے روایت ہے : وضع حمل کی آسانی کے لئے چمڑے یا کا غذ پر یہ لکھے۔۔۔

12. اَللّٰهُمَّ فَارِجَ الْهَمِّ وَكَاشِفَ الْغَمِّ وَرَحْمٰنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَرَحِيْمَهُمَا اِرْحَمْ۔۔۔

    ALLAAHUMMA FAARIJA AL-HAMMI WAKAASHIFA AL-GHAMMI WARAHMAANA AD-DUNYAA WAL-AAKHIRATI WARAHEEMAHUMAA IRHAM...

    O Allah, O reliever of agonies, dispeller of distresses, and beneficent and merciful of this world and the Hereafter, (please) have mercy upon…

    اے معبود! اے رنج دور کرنے والے اے غم کو بر طرف کرنے والے اے دنیا اور آخرت میں بہت رحم کرنے والے مہربان رحم کرفلاں بنت فلاں پر۔۔۔

13. You may now mention the woman’s name and her mother’s…

    یہاں پر اس عورت کا اور اس کی ماں کا نام لے کر کہے۔۔۔

14. ۔۔۔رَحْمَةً تُغْنِيْهَا بِهَا عَنْ رَحْمَةِ جَمِيْعِ خَلْقِكَ تُفَرِّجُ بِهَا كُرْبَتَهَا وَتَكْشِفُ بِهَا غَمَّهَا وَتُيَسِّرُ بِهَا وِلَادَتَهَا وَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَايُظْلَمُوْنَ وَقِيْلَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ۔

    ...RAHMATAN TUGHNEEHAA BIHAA 'AN RAHMATI JAMEE'I KHALQIKA TUFARRIJU BIHAA KURBATAHAA WATAKSHIFU BIHAA GHAMMAHAA WATUYASSIRU BIHAA WILAADATAHAA WAQUDIYA BAYNAHUM BIL-HAQQI WAHUM LAA YUZLAMOONA WAQEELA AL-HAMDU LILLAAHI RABBI AL-'AALAMEEN.

    ...with such mercy that makes her dispense with the mercy of all of Your creatures, relieve her anguish, repel her distress, and makes easy her childbirth. “And judgment shall be given between them with justice, and it shall be said: All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.”

    ۔۔۔رحمت کے ساتھ اسے اپنی رحمت سے تمام اپنی مخلوق سے بے نیاز کر دے اس کی تکلیف دور فرما اس کا غم مٹا دے ولادت کو آسان بنا دے اور ان میں بر حق فیصلہ ہو چکا ہے اور ان پر ظلم نہ ہوگا اور کہا گیا ہے کہ حمد خدا کے لئے ہے جو جہانوں کا رب ہے۔
