مؤلف کہتے ہيں: استخاره کے معنی خير طلب کرنا، لہذا جو کام انجام دينا چاہے اس میں خدا کی خير طلب کرے اور روايت ہوئی ہے کہ نماز شب کے آخری سجدے میں ۱۰۰مرتبہ یہ کہے۔۔۔
اَسْتَخِيْرُ اللهَ بِرَحْمَتِهٖ۔
ASTE-KHEE-RUL LAAHE BE-RAH-MATEH.
I seek Allah’s guidance in choosing, by His mercy.
خدا کی رحمت کے واسطے سے اس سے خير طلب کرتا ہوں۔
Istikharah is also recommended in the last prostration of the supererogatory Dawn Prayer and in every genuflection of the supererogatory Noon Prayer.
نافلہ صبح کے آخری سجدے میں اور نافلہ اول (ظہر) کی ہر رکعت میں بھی اسی طرح خدا سے خير طلب کرنا مستحب ہے۔
