The sublime and well-versed jurisprudent, the author of Jawahir Kalam, says: There is another method of Istikharah practiced by some people of this age and probably ascribed to our master, the Rising Imam, may Allah hasten his reappearance: You may grasp a rosary from two ends randomly and pull each eight beads together after you say some holy verses and a supplication. If the remaining (to the other end) is one bead, this means that it is good in general. If 2 beads remain, this is an indication of warning against doing what you have intended to do. If 3 beads remain, then you have the choice to do or not to do. If 4 beads remain, then this is double warning. If 5 beads remain, then the mission will be tiresome (according to some scholars) or blameworthy (according to others). If 6 beads remain, this means that the matter is utterly good to do and it must be done as soon as possible. If 7 beads remain, the matter is as same as the remaining of 5 beads. If 8 beads remain, this means that warning is extremely confirmed.
فقيہ اجل صاحب جواہرنے جواہر الکلام میں نقل فرمايا ہے کہ ہمارے معاصرين میں ايک استخاره زير عمل ہے جسے قائم آل محمد عجل لله فرجہ کی طرف نسبت دی جاتی ہے اس کی کيفيت يوں ہے کہ دعا پڑھنے کے بعد تسبيح ہاتھ میں لے کر اس کے کچھ دانے مٹھی میں لے کرپھر انہيں ۸۔۸ کر کے شمار کرے اگر ايک دانہ بچے تو اچھا ہے، اگر ۲ بچيں تو يہ ايک مرتبہ منع ہے، اگر ۳ بچ جائيں تو اس کے لئے اختيا ر ہے کہ ان میں فعل اور ترک برابر ہے، اگر ۴ دانے بچ جائيں تو يہ دوبار منع ہے، اگر ۵ بچيں تو بعض حضرات کہتے ہيں کہ اس میں رنج اور مشقت ہے بعض کے نزديک اس میں ملامت ہے، اگر ۶ بچيں تو خوب اور اس کا کام انجام دينے میں جلدی کی جائے، اگر ۷ دانے ره جائيں تو اس کا حکم ۵ دانے بچ جانے کا ہے، اگر ۸ دانے بچ جائيں تو يہ چوتھی منع ہے۔
