Imam Reza (a) recommended to recite the following supplication on the day of Arafah…

امام رضاؑ نے اس دعا کو عرفہ کے دن پڑھنے کی تاکید کی ہے۔۔۔

اَللّٰهُمَّ كَمَا سَتَرْتَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ اَعْلَمْ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ مَا تَعْلَمُ وَكَمَا وَسِعَنِيْ عِلْمُكَ فَلْيَسَعْنِيْ عَفْوُكَ وَكَمَا بَدَاْتَنِيْ بِالْاِحْسَانِ فَاَتِمَّ نِعْمَتَكَ بِالْغُفْرَانِ وَكَمَا اَكْرَمْتَنِيْ بِـمَعْرِفَتِكَ فَاشْفَعْهَا بِـمَغْفِرَتِكَ وَكَمَا عَرَّفْتَنِيْ وَحْدَانِيَّتَكَ فَاَكْرِمْنِيْ بِطَاعَتِكَ وَكَمَا عَصَمْتَنِيْ مِمَّا لَمْ اَكُنْ اَعْتَصِمُ مِنْهُ اِلَّا بِعِصْمَتِكَ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ مَا لَوْ شِئْتَ عَصَمْتَنِيْ مِنْهُ يَا جَوَادُ يَا كَرِيْمُ يَا ذَا الْـجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ۔

Allaahumma kamaa satarta a’layya maa lam a-a’lam fagh-fir lee maa ta’lamo wa kamaa wasea’nee i’lmok fal-ya-sa’nee a’fwoka wa kamaa badaa-tanee bil-ehsaane fa-atimma ne’mataka bilgufraane wa kamaa akramtanee bema’refateka fash-fa’-haa be-maghferateka wa kamaa a’rraftanee wahdaaniyyataka faakrimnee be-ta-a’teka wa kamaa a’samtanee mimmaa lam akun aa’tasemo minho illaa bei’smateka fagh-fir lee maa law shea-ta a’samtanee minho yaa jawaado yaa kareemo yaa zal jalaale wal ikraam.

O Allah! As You had covered me while I was not knowing, forgive me what You know, and like You have covered me with Your knowledge, then cover me with Your forgiveness, and like You have started with favour then complete it Your bounty with pardon, and like You have honored me with Your recognition then intercede it with Your mercy, and like You have acquainted me with Your Oneness then honor me with Your obedience, and like You have safeguarded me for what I was unable to secure from it except Your protection, then forgive me for what You desire for safeguarding me from it, O All-Magnanimous! O All-generous! O Lord of majesty and honoring!

خدا یا! جس طرح مجھ سے مخفی خطاؤں کو تو نے پوشیدہ رکھا ہے اسی طرح تیرے علم میں موجود ہر گناہ کو معاف کر دے، اور جس طرح تیرا علم مجھے احاطہ کیے ہوئے ہے اسی طرح مجھے اپنی مغفرت کے دائرہ میں قرار دے، اور جس طرح تو نے میری ابتدا احسان سے کی ہے اسی طرح اتمام نعمت بھی اپنے غفران سے فرما، اور جس طرح مجھے شرف عطا کیا اپنی معرفت کے ذریعہ اسی طرح میری شفاعت فرما اپنی مغفرت کے ذریعہ، اور جس طرح مجھے اپنی وحدانیت سے آشنا کرایا اسی طرح اطاعت کا شرف بھی عطا فرما، اور جس طرح تو نے میری حفاظت کی ان چیزوں سے جن سے فقط تو ہی محفوظ رکھ سکتا ہے، لہذا میرے ان گناہوں کو معاف فرما جن سے تو میری حفاظت کرنا چاہتا ہے، اے صاحب جود و کرم، اے صاحب جلالت و طہارت۔

Namaz of Eid al-Azha

Ma’moon was unwell on the day of Eid al-Azha so he requested Imam Reza (a): ‘O Abul Hasan! You go and pray the Namaz of Eid along with the people.’ When Imam Reza (a) set out to perform Eid prayer he was wearing white dress and had white turban on his head both of cotton cloth. عید الاضحی کے روز مامون ناساز تھا تو اُس نے امام رضاؑ سے گزارش کی: اے ابو الحسن! آپ جا کر لوگوں کے ساتھ نمازِ عید پڑھ لے۔ جب امام رضاؑ نمازِ عید کے لئے نکلے تب وہ سفید لباس پہنے ہوئے تھے اور اُن کے سر پر سفید عمامہ تھا اور دونوں کپاس کے تھے۔ اپنے ہاتھ میں عصا لئے ہوئے عیدگاہ کی طرف یہ پڑھتے ہوئے پیدل جا رہے تھے۔۔۔

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰی اَبَوَیَّ اٰدَمَ وَنُوْحٍ، اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰی اَبَوَیَّ اِبْرَاہِیْمَ وَاِسْمَاعِیْلَ، اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰی اَبَوَیَّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلِیٍّ، اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰی عِبَادِ اللہِ الصَّالِحِیْنَ۔

As-salaamo a’laa aba-wayya aadama wa noohin.

As-salaamo a’laa aba-wayya ibraa-heema wa ismaa-ee’la.

As-salaamo a’laa aba-wayya mohammadiw wa a’liyyin.

As-salaamo a’laa e’baa-dil laahis saale-heen.

Peace be upon my father Adam (a) and Nuh (a), peace be upon my father Ibrahim (a) and Ismail (a), peace be upon my father Muhammad (s) and Ali (a), peace be upon the righteous servants of Allah.

سلام ہو میرے جد آدمؑ اور نوحؑ پر، سلام ہو میرے جد ابراہیمؑ اور اسماعیلؑ پر، سلام ہو میرے جد محمدؐ اور علیؑ پر، سلام ہو اللہ کے سچے بندوں پر۔

As soon as people saw him, they rushed towards him and there was crowd to kiss his hands. When some of the close persons of Ma’moon saw this situation they suggested to Ma’moon: “You perform the prayer else you will lose your rulership”۔ They told him to set out as soon as possible. Imam Reza (a) was still on his way due to overcrowding. In the mean time Ma’moon proceeded and stood for the prayer so that people could pray behind him This event has been mentioned in the book, ‘Eejaaj al-Ahzaan’ and it is reported that it was held on the Day of Eid al-Azha.

جب لوگوں نے امام کو دیکھا تو وہ اُن کی طرف دوڑ پڑھے اور ایک کثیر تعداد اُن کے ہاتھوں کو بوسہ دے رہی تھی، جب مامون کے قریبی لوگوں نے یہ منظر دیکھا تو اُنہوں نے مامون کو مشورہ دیا کہ: آپ نماز پڑھائیں ورنہ آپ اپنی حکومت كهو دنیٔگے، اُن لوگوں نے اُسے جلد سے جلد عیدگاہ آنے کو کہا۔ لوگوں کے ہجوم کی وجہ سے امام رضاؑ راستے میں ہی تھے، اس درمیان مامون آ کر نماز کے لئے کھڑا ہو گیا تاکہ لوگ اُس کے پیچھے نماز پڑھیں۔ یہ واقعہ کتاب اعجاز الاحزان میں بیان کیا گیا ہے اور یہ بھی ہے کہ یہ عید الاضحی کا دن تھا۔

Excellence of the Day of Eid’e Ghadeer

احمد ابن محمد ابن نصر لکھتے ہے: جب مجھے امام رضاؑ سے ملاقات کا شرف ملا تو میں نے دیکھا کہ اُن کے درمیان ایک ہجوم تھا اور جب کچھ لوگوں نے عید غدیر کی عظمت کا انکار کیا تو امامؑ نے فرمایا: میرے والد اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہے۔۔۔

اِنَّ يَوْمَ الْغَدِيْرِ فِيْ السَّمَاءِ اَشْهَرُ مِنْهُ فِيْ الْاَرْضِ اِنَّ لِلهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِيْ الْفِرْدَوْسِ الْاَعْلٰى قَصْرًا لَبِنَةٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَلَبِنَةٌ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ فِيْهِ مِائَةُ اَلْفِ قُبَّةٍ مِنْ يَاقُوْتَةٍ حَمْرَاءَ وَمِائَةِ اَلْفِ خَيْمَةٍ مِنْ يَاقُوْتٍ اَخْضَرَ تُرَابُهُ الْمِسْكُ وَالْعَنْبَرُ فِيْهِ اَرْبَعَةُ اَنْهَارٍ: نَهَرٌ مِنْ خَمْرٍ وَنَهَرٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ وَنَهَرٌ مِنْ لَبَنٍ وَنَهَرٌ مِنْ عَسَلٍ حَوَالَيْهِ اَشْجَارُ جَمِيْعِ الْفَوَاكِهٖ عَلَيْهِ طُيُوْرٌ اَبْدَانُهَا مِنْ لُؤْلُؤٍ وَاَجْنِحَتُهَا مِنْ يَاقُوْتٍ تَصُوْتُ بِاَلْوَانِ الْاَصْوَاتِ۔

فَاِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْغَدِيْرِ وَرَدَ اِلٰى ذٰلِكَ الْقَصْرِ اَهْلُ السَّمَاوَاتِ يُسَبِّحُوْنَ اللهَ وَيُقَدِّسُوْنَهٗ وَيُهَلِّلُوْنَهٗ فَتَطَايَرُ تِلْكَ الطُّيُوْرُ فَتَقَعُ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ الْمَاءِ وَتَتَمَرَّغُ عَلٰى ذٰلِكَ الْمِسْكِ وَالْعَنْبَرِ فَاِذَا اجْتَمَعَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ طَارَتْ تِلْكَ الطُّيُوْرُ فَتَنْفُضُ ذٰلِكَ۔

وَ اِنَّهُمْ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ الْيَوْمِ لَيَتَهَادَوْنَ نِثَارَ فَاطِمَةَ عَلَیْہَا السَّلَامُ فَاِذَا كَانَ آخِرُ الْيَوْمِ نُوْدُوْا: اِنْصَرِفُوْا اِلٰى مَرَاتِبِكُمْ فَقَدْ اَمِنْتُمْ مِنَ الْـخَطَاِ وَالزَّلَلِ اِلٰى قَابِلٍ فِيْ مِثْلِ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ تَكْرِمَةً لِمُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلِيٍّ عَلَیْہِمَا السَّلَامُ۔

Indeed, the Day of Ghadeer is more renowned in the heavens than it is on the earth. Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has in the Highest Firdaws a palace one brick of gold and one brick of silver. In it are one hundred thousand domes of red ruby, and one hundred thousand tents of green ruby. Its soil is musk and amber. In it are four rivers: a river of wine, a river of water, a river of milk, and a river of honey. Around it are trees bearing all kinds of fruits, and upon it are birds whose bodies are made of pearls and whose wings are made of rubies, singing with many different kinds of sounds. So when the Day of Ghadeer comes, the inhabitants of the heavens enter that palace, glorifying Allah, declaring Him holy, and proclaiming His oneness. Then those birds fly, descend into that water, and roll about in that musk and amber. When the angels gather, those birds fly again and shake off (those fragrances), scattering them. And on that day they exchange gifts among themselves from the scattering (nisaar) of Fatemah (pbuh). When the day comes to an end, it is called out to them: Return to your ranks (positions), for you have been granted safety from error and slipping until the next time, on a day like this an honor for Muhammad and Ali (pbut).

بے شک عیدِ غدیر آسمان میں زمین سے زیادہ مشہور ہے۔ اللہ عزّوجل کے اعلیٰ فردوس میں ایک محل ہے جس کی ایک اینٹ سونے کی اور ایک اینٹ چاندی کی ہے۔ اس میں ایک لاکھ سرخ یاقوت کے گنبد ہیں اور ایک لاکھ سبز یاقوت کے خیمے ہیں۔ اس کی مٹی مشک اور عنبر کی ہے۔ اس میں چار نہریں ہیں: ایک شراب کی نہر، ایک پانی کی نہر، ایک دودھ کی نہر، اور ایک شہد کی نہر۔ اس کے ارد گرد ہر قسم کے پھلوں کے درخت ہیں۔ وہاں ایسے پرندے ہیں جن کے جسم موتی کے اور پر یاقوت کے ہیں، اور وہ مختلف آوازوں میں چہچہاتے ہیں۔ جب عیدِ غدیر کا دن آتا ہے تو آسمان والے اس محل میں آتے ہیں، اللہ کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں، اسے پاک مانتے ہیں اور اس کی توحید بیان کرتے ہیں۔ پھر وہ پرندے اُڑتے ہیں، اس پانی میں اترتے ہیں اور مشک و عنبر میں لوٹ پوٹ ہوتے ہیں۔ جب فرشتے جمع ہوتے ہیں تو پرندے دوبارہ اُڑتے ہیں اور وہ خوشبو (مشک و عنبر) جھاڑ دیتے ہیں (یعنی بکھیر دیتے ہیں)۔ اور اس دن وہ آپس میں حضرت فاطمہؑ کی نثار (یعنی بکھری ہوئی نعمتیں / تحفے) ایک دوسرے کو تحفے میں دیتے ہیں۔ پھر جب دن ختم ہونے لگتا ہے تو انہیں آواز دی جاتی ہے: اپنی اپنی منزلوں / مراتب کی طرف لوٹ جاؤ، تمہیں خطا اور لغزش سے امن دے دیا گیا ہے، اگلی بار بھی اسی جیسے دن تک یہ عزت محمدؐ اور علیؑ کے لیے ہے۔

The inhabitants of paradise enter in this palace on the day of Ghadeer for performing the glorification, sanctification and consecration of Sublime Lord. The birds fly there, dip in the water and wrap themselves in the dust of musk and ambergris. When the angels assemble then they fly. And whatever they have they drop down and sacrifice over Hazrat Fatema Zahra (s) and exchange the presents. At the end of the day they are ordered to return so as to remain safe from blunders and slips till the next year as it was today due to the regards they paid to Holy Prophet Muhammad (s) and Imam Ali (a).

“جب عیدِ غدیر کا دن آتا ہے تو آسمانوں کے رہنے والے (فرشتے) اس محل کی طرف آتے ہیں۔ وہ اللہ کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں، اس کی پاکی بیان کرتے ہیں، اور لا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللہ کہتے ہیں۔ پھر وہ پرندے اڑتے ہیں، اس پانی میں جا گرتے ہیں اور مشک و عنبر پر لوٹتے (لتھڑتے) ہیں۔ جب فرشتے اکٹھے ہو جاتے ہیں تو وہ پرندے دوبارہ اڑتے ہیں اور (مشک و عنبر کی خوشبو) جھاڑتے / بکھیرتے ہیں۔اور اس دن فرشتے آپس میں حضرت فاطمہؑ کے نثار / تحفوں کا ایک دوسرے کو ہدیہ دیتے ہیں۔ پھر جب دن ختم ہونے کے قریب ہوتا ہے تو اعلان کیا جاتا ہے: اب اپنے اپنے درجوں اور مقام کی طرف لوٹ جاؤ، تم غلطی اور لغزش سے اگلے سال اسی دن تک محفوظ کر دیے گئے ہو یہ محمدؐ اور علیؑ کی عزت و تکریم کی وجہ سے ہے۔

Then Imam Reza (a) turned towards me and said…

پھر امام رضاؑ نے میری طرف رُخ کیا اور فرمایا۔۔۔

يَا ابْنَ اَبِيْ نَصْرٍ اَيْنَ مَا كُنْتَ فَاحْضُرْ يَوْمَ الْغَدِيْرِ عِنْدَ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلَیْہِ السَّلَامُ فَاِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالٰى يَغْفِرُ لِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ وَمُؤْمِنَةٍ وَمُسْلِمٍ وَمُسْلِمَةٍ ذُنُوْبَ سِتِّيْنَ سَنَةً وَيُعْتِقُ مِنَ النَّارِ ضِعْفَ مَا اَعْتَقَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ وَلَيْلَةِ الْفِطْرِ وَلَدِرْهَمٌ فِيْهِ بِاَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ لِاِخْوَانِكَ الْعَارِفِيْنَ وَاَفْضِلْ عَلٰى اِخْوَانِكَ فِيْ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ وَسُرَّ فِيْهِ كُلَّ مُؤْمِنٍ وَمُؤْمِنَةٍ۔

Listen, son of Abu-Nasr! Wherever you are, try your best to present yourself at the tomb of Ameer al-Momineen (a) on the Ghadeer Day. Verily, Almighty Allah forgives the sins of sixty years of each faithful believer and Muslim individual, male and female (who presents himself/herself there at on this day). On this day too, Almighty Allah releases from Hellfire two folds as many people as He releases during the month of Ramazan, the Grand (i.e Qadr) Night and the night before Eid al-Fitr night. A single dirham that is given as alms on this day to the believing brethren is equal to one thousand dirhams (that are given as alms on other occasions). Try to do favors to your brethren on this day and try to please each believing man and woman.

اے ابنِ ابی نصر! تم جہاں کہیں بھی ہو، عیدِ غدیر کے دن امیرالمؤمنینؑ کے پاس حاضر ہو جانا۔ کیونکہ اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ اس دن ہر مومن مرد اور مومن عورت اور ہر مسلمان مرد اور مسلمان عورت کے ساٹھ سال کے گناہ معاف فرما دیتا ہے، اور انہیں جہنم سے اتنا آزاد کرتا ہے جو رمضان، شبِ قدر اور عیدالفطر کی رات میں آزاد کیے جانے والوں سے دوگنا ہوتا ہے۔ اور اس دن اپنے عارف (سمجھدار / معرفت رکھنے والے) بھائیوں کو دیا گیا ایک درہم (صدقہ / مدد) ہزار درہم کے برابر ہے۔ اس دن اپنے بھائیوں پر زیادہ احسان کرو، اور اس دن ہر مومن مرد اور مومن عورت کو خوش کرو۔

Then he (a) said…

پھر امامؑ نے فرمایا۔۔۔

يَا اَهْلَ الْكُوفَةِ لَقَدْ اُعْطِيْتُمْ خَيْرًا كَثِيْرًا وَاِنَّكُمْ لَمَنِ امْتَحَنَ اللهُ قَلْبَهٗ لِلْاِيْـمَانِ مُسْتَذَلُّوْنَ مَقْهُوْرُوْنَ مُـمْتَحَنُوْنَ يُصَبُّ الْبَلَاءُ عَلَيْهِمْ صَبًّا ثُمَّ يَكْشِفُهٗ كَاشِفُ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيْمِ۔

وَ اللهِ لَوْ عَرَفَ النَّاسُ فَضْلَ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ بِـحَقِيْقَتِهٖ لَصَافَـحَتْهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ فِيْ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ۔

O the residents of Kufa! You have been awarded the blessings (of Almighty Allah) in abundance. Some of you are such whose hearts are examined by Allah the Exalted. They have declared as wretched ones and are liable for the Divine Wrath and Rage. They are tried and involved in distress and troubles. Almighty Allah is the remover of abundant troubles, He the Exalted will remove their troubles also. By Allah I swear, if people recognized the reality of this day, the angels would have shaken their hands with them 10 times a day.

اے اہلِ کوفہ! تمہیں بہت بڑی اور بہت سی بھلائیاں عطا کی گئی ہیں۔ اور تم میں سے بہت سے وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دل کو اللہ نے ایمان کے لیے آزما کر مضبوط کیا ہے۔ تم (بظاہر) کمزور سمجھے جاتے ہو، دبائے جاتے ہو، ظلم کا نشانہ بنتے ہو، آزمائے جاتے ہو تم پر مصیبتیں مسلسل برسائی جاتی ہیں پھر بڑی گھبراہٹ اور سختی کو دور کرنے والا اللہ اسے دور کر دیتا ہے۔ خدا کی قسم! اگر لوگ اس دن کی فضیلت کو اس کی حقیقت کے ساتھ جان لیں تو فرشتے ان سے ہر دن دس مرتبہ مصافحہ کریں۔

Discourse of Imam Reza (a) about the Sermon of Imam Ali (a) on the Day of Ghadeer

Fayyaz ibn Muhammad Toosi (r) reports that in the year 259 A.H., at the age of 90 years, on the day of Ghadeer I went to the Imam Reza (a) and saw that Imam (a) had a group of close devotees. Imam (a) had invited them for breaking fast (on that day) and had sent food, drinks, clothes, even shoes and rings to their homes. There were many gifts kept and also many things which can be given in gifts as per the ritual ceremony. Imam (a) was describing the greatness of the Day of Ghadeer. Then Imam (a) said: “I narrate this from my father (a) who narrates from my grandfather Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a) who narrates from his father Imam Muhammad Baqir (a) who narrates from his father Imam Zainul Abideen (a) who narrates from his father Imam Hussain (a) who narrates, Once in the time of the Ameerul Momineen (a), the day of Friday had coincided with the day of the Eid’e Ghadeer. Five hours had passed of the day when Ameerul Momineen (a) ascended the pulpit and delivered a sermon. In this sermon, Ameerul Momineen (a) praised Allah in a way that only he could do.” After that he said something and whatever remained from his saying is as follows:

فَیّاض بن محمد طوسیؒ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ۲۵۹ ہجری میں، جب میری عمر ۹۰ سال تھی، عیدِ غدیر کے دن میں امام رضاؑ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا۔ میں نے دیکھا کہ امامؑ کے پاس قریب ترین اور خاص شیعہ / محبین کا ایک گروہ موجود ہے۔ امامؑ نے اس دن انہیں افطار کے لیے مدعو کیا ہوا تھا، اور ان کے گھروں میں کھانا، مشروبات، کپڑے، یہاں تک کہ جوتے اور انگوٹھیاں بھی بھیجی تھیں۔ وہاں بہت سے تحائف رکھے ہوئے تھے اور بہت سی ایسی چیزیں بھی تھیں جو رسم کے مطابق ہدیتہً دی جا سکتی تھیں۔ امامؑ عیدِ غدیر کی عظمت بیان فرما رہے تھے۔ پھر امامؑ نے فرمایا: میں یہ روایت اپنے والدؑ سے نقل کرتا ہوں، وہ اپنے دادا امام جعفر صادقؑ سے، وہ اپنے والد امام محمد باقرؑ سے، وہ اپنے والد امام زین العابدینؑ سے، وہ اپنے والد امام حسینؑ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ: ایک مرتبہ امیرالمومنین امام علیؑ کے زمانے میں جمعہ کا دن عیدِ غدیر کے دن کے ساتھ آ گیا۔ دن کے تقریباً پانچ گھنٹے گزر چکے تھے کہ امیرالمومنینؑ منبر پر تشریف لے گئے اور خطبہ دیا۔ اس خطبے میں امیرالمومنینؑ نے اللہ کی ایسی حمد کی جو صرف وہی کر سکتے تھے۔ اس کے بعد امام علیؑ نے مزید فرمایا، اور ان کے کلام کا باقی حصہ یوں ہے:

I stand witness that there is no god but Allah exclusively without any association such a witness whose source is hidden sincerity and which is described by the tongue. He the exalted crafted all creation by His knowledge and produced it by His intelligence without limitation and without the example of any other producer. All the noble and good names are reserved only for Him. Nothing is like Him because all the things came into existence due to His intendedness. That is why He did not have any resemblance with anything. I testify that Muhammad (s) is His servant and messenger whom Allah chose from the beginning for all of the nations. He is superior over all of the prophets and the entire creation. Allah has chosen him to convey His commands upon His creation. Allah sent Muhammad (s) to deliver His commands because Allah cannot be seen nor can He be imagined. There is no other that can be likened unto Him. There is no Lord except Allah who is King of the kings and All Powerful. He attached His Lordship to the prophethood of Muhammad (s) and blessed Muhammad (s) with such blessings that were not bestowed upon any other creation and because he was qualified and capable for friendship as whoever indulged in doubts is not capable of friendship.

میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں۔ یہ ایسی گواہی ہے جس کی بنیاد چھپی ہوئی اخلاص ہے اور جسے زبان بیان کرتی ہے۔ وہ بلند و برتر اللہ نے اپنے علم سے ساری مخلوق کو بنایا، اور اپنی حکمت سے اسے وجود دیا بغیر کسی حد کے اور کسی دوسرے بنانے والے کی مثال کے بغیر۔ تمام عمدہ اور پاکیزہ نام اسی کے لیے ہیں۔ کوئی چیز اس جیسی نہیں، کیونکہ ہر چیز اسی کے ارادے سے وجود میں آئی۔ اسی لیے وہ کسی سے مشابہ نہیں۔ اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمدؐ اللہ کے بندے اور رسول ہیں، جنہیں اللہ نے شروع ہی سے تمام امتوں کے لیے منتخب فرمایا۔ وہ تمام انبیاء اور ساری مخلوق سے افضل ہیں۔ اللہ نے انہیں چنا تاکہ وہ اللہ کے احکام مخلوق تک پہنچائیں۔ اللہ نے محمدؐ کو اپنے احکام پہنچانے کے لیے اس لیے بھیجا کہ اللہ دیکھا نہیں جا سکتا اور نہ ہی وہ وہمی خیال میں آ سکتا ہے۔ اس جیسا کوئی نہیں، جس سے اس کی مثال دی جا سکے۔ اللہ کے سوا کوئی رب نہیں وہ بادشاہوں کا بادشاہ اور ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔ اللہ نے اپنی ربوبیت کو محمدؐ کی نبوت کے ساتھ جوڑا، اور محمدؐ کو ایسی برکتیں عطا فرمائیں جو کسی دوسری مخلوق کو نہیں ملیں، کیونکہ وہ اس کے اہل اور لائق تھے۔ اور جو شخص شک و شبہ میں پڑا رہے، وہ قرب اور دوستی (ولایت) کے قابل نہیں ہوتا۔

He ordered the people to send salutations upon him and further elevated his dignity and opened a door for responding the prayers of supplicators. So Allah, the High, showered his blessings over him because He preserves regards for him and He awarded him nobility and magnaniminity and extended it to the extent having no boundary. So that he could remain attached with Him forever. So the Almighty Allah selected a group of some special persons from amongst His creature after His messenger and offered them splendor as that of His own and elevated their position and reposed them as a guide for inviting people of all ages towards themselves. He created them in the form of light before all other creatures and made them speak with His might and revealed over them His Glorification and Praise and selected them as His Argument over all those who accepted His Lordship and Devotion. And through their medium He awarded speaking power to dumbs so that they could confess the Lordship of Sublime Allah and He is the Creator of the earth and heavens.

اللہ نے لوگوں کو حکم دیا کہ وہ نبیؐ پر درود و سلام بھیجیں۔ اس کے ذریعے اللہ نے نبیؐ کی عزّت اور شان کو مزید بلند فرمایا اور دعا کرنے والوں کی دعا قبول ہونے کا ایک دروازہ کھول دیا۔ پس اللہ تعالیٰ نے نبیؐ پر اپنی برکتیں نازل فرمائیں، کیونکہ اللہ ان کی تعظیم و توقیر کرتا ہے۔ اللہ نے انہیں شرف اور بزرگی عطا کی، اور ان کی شان کو ایسی وسعت دی جس کی کوئی حد نہیں تاکہ وہ ہمیشہ اللہ کے ساتھ جڑے رہیں۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے رسولؐ کے بعد اپنی مخلوق میں سے کچھ خاص اور منتخب بندوں کو چن لیا۔ اللہ نے انہیں اپنی ہی شان کی جھلک عطا کی، ان کے مرتبے کو بلند کیا، اور انہیں راہِ ہدایت کے امام / رہنما بنا دیا تاکہ وہ ہر زمانے کے لوگوں کو اللہ کی طرف بلائیں۔ اللہ نے انہیں تمام مخلوقات سے پہلے نور کی صورت میں پیدا کیا، انہیں اپنی قدرت سے گویا کیا، ان پر اپنی تسبیح اور حمد ظاہر کی، اور انہیں ان سب پر اپنی حجّت (دلیل / نمائندہ) بنایا جو اللہ کی ربوبیت اور بندگی کو مانتے ہیں۔ اور انہی کے وسیلے سے اللہ نے گونگوں کو بولنے کی طاقت دی، تاکہ وہ اللہ کی ربوبیت کا اقرار کریں کہ وہی بلند و برتر اللہ زمین و آسمان کا خالق ہے۔

He made them witness on His being a Creator and made them responsible by His Commandment and Will whatever He wanted. He made them interpreter of His love and manifested His intention through their tongue. ‘They do not proceed Him in speech and (only) according to His Commandment do they act. He knows what is before them and what is behind them and they do not intercede except for Him when He approves and for fear of Him they tremble.’ They command according to His Commandments and promulgate His traditions and put into effect its limitations. They perform it whatever had been made obligatory by Him. He has not left His creature in darkness like speechless and dumb persons, instead He favoured them with knowledge and intelligence which is attached with them and made their senses obedient to them. Then He took the affirmation from their eyes, ears and contemplation and thoughtfulness through them and caused them bound of His proof. And showed them His path and through it revealed everything “so that whoever wanted to die he should die by means of proof and whoever wanted to remain alive should live by His proof. Surely Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing.”

اللہ نے انہیں اپنی خالقیت ہونے پر گواہ بنایا، اور اپنے حکم اور ارادے کے مطابق جن باتوں کی ذمہ داری چاہی، وہ ان کے سپرد کیں۔ اللہ نے انہیں اپنی محبت کے ترجمان بنایا، اور اپنی مرضی کو ان کی زبان کے ذریعے ظاہر فرمایا۔ (قرآنی مفہوم:) وہ اللہ سے آگے بڑھ کر بات نہیں کرتے، اور وہ صرف اللہ کے حکم کے مطابق عمل کرتے ہیں۔ اللہ جانتا ہے جو ان کے آگے ہے اور جو ان کے پیچھے ہے۔ وہ کسی کی شفاعت نہیں کرتے مگر اسی کے لیے جس کے لیے اللہ راضی ہو۔ اور وہ اللہ کے خوف سے لرزتے رہتے ہیں۔ یہ حضرات اللہ کے حکم کے مطابق حکم دیتے ہیں، اس کی سنت / دین کو پھیلاتے ہیں، اور اس کی حدود نافذ کرتے ہیں۔ جو کچھ اللہ نے واجب کیا، اسے وہ پورا کرتے ہیں۔ اللہ نے اپنی مخلوق کو اندھیرے میں نہیں چھوڑا، جیسے وہ گونگی اور بے زبان ہو۔ بلکہ اللہ نے ان پر احسان کیا اور انہیں علم اور عقل عطا کی جو ان کے ساتھ جڑی ہوئی ہے، اور لوگوں کے حواس کو ان کی اطاعت پر لگا دیا۔ پھر اللہ نے ان کے ذریعے لوگوں کی آنکھوں، کانوں، اور سوچ و فکر سے اقرار لیا، اور انہیں اپنی حجّت (دلیل / برہان) کا پابند بنا دیا۔ اور انہیں اپنا راستہ دکھایا، اور اسی کے ذریعے ہر چیز واضح کر دی تاکہ جو مرے، دلیل کے ساتھ مرے (یعنی حق واضح ہونے کے بعد)، اور جو زندہ رہے، وہ بھی دلیل کے ساتھ زندہ رہے۔ بے شک اللہ سب کچھ سننے والا اور سب کچھ جاننے والا ہے۔

O faithful believers! Today the Almighty Allah has provided for you two such important Eids as none of which can exist without the other so that He could complete His blessings upon you, make you aware of the correct path, guide you through His light, show you the moderate path and shower upon you His abundant bounties. He declared Friday as the day of assembly and congregation so that the deflections and pollutions, created in this duration, could be wiped off. So Allah, the High, revealed upon His Prophet (s) on this day of Ghadeer whatever He intended and whatever He wanted for His chosen ones, persons of high rank and commanded for its implementation. He promised to save them from the mischief of the hypocrites. He raised the curtain of disobedience from the hearts which were polluted by doubts and hypocrisy so that the faithful believers and hypocrites could be recognized.

اے اہلِ ایمان! آج اللہ تعالیٰ نے تمہیں دو بہت بڑے عیدیں عطا فرمائی ہیں ایسی عیدیں کہ ایک دوسری کے بغیر مکمل نہیں تاکہ اللہ تم پر اپنی نعمتیں پورے طور پر مکمل کر دے، تمہیں سیدھا راستہ پہچنوا دے، اپنے نور سے تمہاری رہنمائی کرے، تمہیں درمیانہ / معتدل راستہ دکھائے، اور اپنی بہت زیادہ نعمتیں تم پر نازل فرمائے۔ اللہ نے جمعہ کو اجتماع اور جماعت کا دن قرار دیا، تاکہ اس مدت میں پیدا ہونے والی لغزشیں اور آلودگیاں (روحانی میل) صاف ہو جائیں۔ اور اسی غدیر کے دن اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے نبیؐ پر وہ سب نازل فرمایا جو اس نے ارادہ کیا تھا، اور جو اپنے چنے ہوئے بندوں اور بلند مرتبہ افراد کے لیے پسند فرمایا تھا، اور اس کے عمل میں لانے کا حکم دیا۔ اور اللہ نے وعدہ فرمایا کہ وہ انہیں منافقوں کے فتنوں سے بچائے گا۔ اس نے اُن دلوں سے نافرمانی کا پردہ ہٹا دیا جو شک اور نفاق سے آلودہ ہو چکے تھے، تاکہ سچے مومن اور منافق الگ الگ پہچانے جا سکیں۔

One group accepted orally without accepting the reality of the faith and another one accepted it with speech and facts of faith. And Allah, the High, completed His religion and illuminated the eyes of prophets and faithful believers and whatever happened was witnessed by some of you and the proof of Almighty Allah was completed. Allah, the High, rendered the foundation hollow and desolate which was laid down by Firaun, Haaman, Korah and their forces and He will erase their remains from the earth and He will affiliate them with the traitors. Very soon His faithfuls and followers of His command will receive His Blessings and the tyrants and erring ones would be afflicted. Verily the Almighty Allah is All-Knowing and quick in apprehension. O people! May Allah be merciful upon you. Ponder upon that through which Allah (swt) has called you towards Himself today and that which Allah (swt) has made obligatory upon you until the Day of Judgment. Follow His path and do not follow a path that is not from Him Otherwise, you will become lost.

ایک گروہ ایسا تھا جس نے صرف زبان سے قبول کیا مگر ایمان کی حقیقت دل سے قبول نہ کی۔ اور دوسرا گروہ وہ تھا جس نے زبان سے بھی قبول کیا اور دل کے یقین اور عمل کے ساتھ بھی ایمان لایا۔ اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنا دین مکمل کر دیا، اور انبیاء اور اہلِ ایمان کی آنکھوں کو روشن کر دیا۔ جو کچھ ہوا، اسے تم میں سے بعض نے اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھا، اور اللہ کی حجّت (دلیل) پوری ہو گئی۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرعون، ہامان، قارون اور ان کے لشکروں کی جو بنیاد تھی اسے کھوکھلا اور ویران کر دیا، اور وہ ان کے آثار کو زمین سے مٹا دے گا، اور انہیں غداروں کے ساتھ ملا دے گا۔ بہت جلد اللہ کے مومن بندوں اور اس کے حکم کے پیروکاروں کو اس کی برکتیں ملیں گی، اور ظالم اور گمراہ لوگ عذاب / مصیبت میں مبتلا ہوں گے۔ بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ سب کچھ جاننے والا اور جلد گرفت کرنے والا ہے۔ اے لوگو! اللہ تم پر رحم کرے۔ غور کرو اس بات پر جس کے ذریعے آج اللہ نے تمہیں اپنی طرف بلایا ہے، اور جس چیز کو اللہ نے تم پر قیامت تک واجب کر دیا ہے۔ اس کے راستے پر چلو، اور اس راستے کے پیچھے نہ جاؤ جو اس کی طرف سے نہیں ہے ورنہ تم گمراہ ہو جاؤ گے۔

اِنَّ هٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَظِيْمُ الشَّاْنِ فِيْهِ وَقَعَ الْفَرَجُ وَرُفِعَتِ الدَّرَجُ وَ وَضَحَتِ الْـحُجَجُ۔

وَهُوَ يَوْمُ الْاِيْضَاحِ وَالْاِفْصَاحِ عَنِ الْمَقَامِ الصُّرَاحِ وَيَوْمَ كَمَالِ الدِّيْنِ وَيَوْمَ الْعَهْدِ الْمَعْهُوْدِ وَيَوْمَ الشَّاهِدِ وَالْمَشْهُوْدِ وَيَوْمَ تِبْيَانِ الْعُقُوْدِ عَنِ النِّفَاقِ وَالْـجُحُوْدِ وَيَوْمَ الْبَيَانِ عَنْ حَقَائِقِ الْاِيْمَانِ وَيَوْمَ دَحْرِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَيَوْمَ الْبُرْهَانِ۔

هٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ الَّذِيْ كُنْتُمْ تُوْعَدُوْنَ هٰذَا يَوْمُ الْمَلَاِ الْاَعْلٰى‏ اَلَّذِيْ اَنْتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُوْنَ هٰذَا يَوْمُ الْاِرْشَادِ وَيَوْمُ مِـحْنَةِ الْعِبَادِ وَيَوْمُ الدَّلِيْلِ عَلَى الْرُّوَّادِ۔

هٰذَا يَوْمُ اِبْدَاءِ خَفَايَا الصُّدُوْرِ وَمُضْمَرَاتِ الْاُمُوْرِ هٰذَا يَوْمُ النُّصُوْصِ عَلٰى اَهْلِ الْـخُصُوْصِ هٰذَا يَوْمُ شَيْثٍ هٰذَا يَوْمُ اِدْرِيْسَ هٰذَا يَوْمُ يُوْشَعَ هٰذَا يَوْمُ شَمْعُوْنَ هٰذَا يَوْمُ الْاَمْنِ الْمَاْمُوْنِ هٰذَا يَوْمُ اِظْهَارِ الْمَصُوْنِ مِنَ الْمَكْنُوْنِ هٰذَا يَوْمُ اِبْلَاءِ السَّرَائِرِ۔

Verily, this is the greatest day. In it relieving occurs, dignities are elevated and the proofs are made evident and manifested. This is the day of explanation. This is the day of revealing. This is the day of the completion of the religion. This is the day of the promise of allegiance (which was taken on the day of creation). This is the day of witness and of the one who is being witnessed to. This day explains the hypocrisy of hypocrites and reveals the truth of faith. This is the day of the defeat of satan. This is the day of absolute proof. This is that Day about which you have been warned. This is the day of that clear command you are turning aside from it. This is the day of true guidance. This is the day of blessings. This is the day of proof for those who ask. In this day, the secrets that were hidden within the heart were revealed. This day is a clear command for special people. This is the day of Shees. This is the day of Idrees. This is the day of Yoosha’۔ This is the day of Shamo’on. This is the day of peace and one who seeks peace. This is the day of giving shelter and the day of manifesting the hidden things and the day of raising the curtain from the secret things.

بے شک یہ دن بڑی شان والا دن ہے۔ اسی دن کشائش / فرج حاصل ہوئی، درجے بلند کیے گئے، اور دلیلیں واضح ہو گئیں۔ یہ دن حق کو کھول کر بیان کرنے کا دن ہے، اور صاف مقام کو واضح کرنے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن دین کے کامل ہونے کا دن ہے، یہ دن پکے عہد (وعدۂ الٰہی) کا دن ہے، یہ دن گواہ اور مشہود (گواہی دینے اور جس پر گواہی دی جائے) کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن نفاق اور انکار کے عہد و پیمانوں کو بے نقاب کرنے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن ایمان کی حقیقتوں کو بیان کرنے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن شیطان کو دور بھگانے کا دن ہے، اور یہ دن روشن دلیل / برہان کا دن ہے۔ یہ وہ فیصلے کا دن ہے جس کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا تھا۔ یہ عالمِ بالا (ملاءِ اعلیٰ) کا دن ہے جس سے تم روگردانی کرتے رہے۔ یہ دن ہدایت کا دن ہے، اور بندوں کی آزمائش کا دن ہے، اور راہ دکھانے والوں پر دلیل قائم ہونے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن دلوں کے چھپے راز اور معاملات کی اندرونی باتیں ظاہر ہونے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن خاص اہلِ حق کے بارے میں واضح نصوص / اعلان کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن شیث کا ہے، یہ دن ادریس کا ہے، یہ دن یوشع کا ہے، یہ دن شمعون کا ہے۔ یہ دن امن والا محفوظ دن ہے۔ یہ دن پوشیدہ خزانے میں سے محفوظ چیز کے ظاہر ہونے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن رازوں کے کھل کر سامنے آنے کا دن ہے۔

Ameerul Momineen (a) continued to describe, “This is that day and this is that day. Fear Allah and heed His warnings. Be obedient to Him. Protect yourself from deception. Do not try to deceive Allah. Investigate and search within your hearts and do not be deceived. Gain the nearness of Allah through His tauheed (oneness) and through the obedience of those whom Allah has ordered you to obey. Do not follow unbelieving women. They have no honor or dignity. Remember a deviant from amongst you will never find success. Do not follow those who have gone astray. Otherwise you will lose the way of Allah (swt) because such people have themselves gone astray and will also lead others astray. Allah (swt) in His book (33:67-68) condemned a group. On the Day of Judgment one from amongst this group will say…

امیرالمومنینؑ نے اپنی بات جاری رکھتے ہوئے فرمایا: یہ وہی دن ہے اور یہی وہی دن ہے۔ اللہ سے ڈرو اور اس کی تنبیہوں کو سنو۔ اس کی اطاعت کرو۔ اپنے آپ کو فریب سے بچاؤ۔ اللہ کو دھوکہ دینے کی کوشش نہ کرو۔ اپنے دلوں میں جھانکو، اپنے اندر کی حالت کو پرکھو، اور دھوکے میں نہ پڑو۔ اللہ کی قربت حاصل کرو اس کے توحید (یعنی ایک ہونے) پر یقین کے ذریعے، اور ان کی اطاعت کے ذریعے جن کی اطاعت کا اللہ نے حکم دیا ہے۔ گمراہ کرنے والوں کے پیچھے نہ چلو۔ تم میں سے جو شخص گمراہی اختیار کرے گا وہ کبھی کامیاب نہیں ہوگا۔ جو لوگ خود گمراہ ہو چکے ہیں، ان کی پیروی نہ کرو، ورنہ تم اللہ کے راستے سے بھٹک جاؤ گے؛ کیونکہ ایسے لوگ خود بھی گمراہ ہیں اور دوسروں کو بھی گمراہ کرتے ہیں۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی کتاب میں (سورۂ احزاب۳۳: ۶۷-۶۸) ایک گروہ کی مذمت کی ہے۔ قیامت کے دن اس گروہ میں سے ایک شخص کہے گا۔۔۔

اِنَّآ اَطَعْنَا سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَاۗءَنَا فَاَضَلُّوْنَا السَّبِيْلَا۟۔

رَبَّنَآ اٰتِهِمْ ضِعْفَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ وَالْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًا كَبِيْرًا۔

…innaaa ata’naa saadatanaa wa kubaraaa’anaa fa adalloonas sabeelaa.

Rabbanaaa aatihim di’fai ni minal a’zaabi wal’anhum la nan kabeera.

…Surely we obeyed our leaders and our great men, so they led us astray from the path; O our Lord! give them a double punishment and curse them with a great curse.

۔۔۔ہم نے اپنے سرداروں اور بزرگوں کی اطاعت کی تو انہوں نے راستہ سے بہکا دیا۔ پروردگار اب ان پر دہرا عذاب نازل کر اور ان پر بہت بڑی لعنت کر۔

Then Allah says in His book (40:47)…

پھر اللہ تعالی اپنی کتاب كی آیت (۴۰:۴۷) میں فرماتا ہے۔۔۔

وَاِذْ يَتَحَاۗجُّوْنَ فِي النَّارِ فَيَقُوْلُ الضُّعَفٰۗؤُ لِلَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْٓا اِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ اَنْتُم مُّغْنُوْنَ عَنَّا نَصِيْبًا مِّنَ النَّارِ

Wa iz yatahaaajjoona fin naari fa-yaqoolud du’afaaa’u lillazeenas takbarooo innaa kunnaa lakum taba’an fahal antum mughnoona annaa naseebam minan naar.

And when they shall contend one with another in the fire, then the weak shall say to those who were proud: Surely we were your followers; will you then avert from us a portion of the fire?

اور اس وقت کو یاد دلاؤ جب یہ سب جہنّم کے اندر جھگڑے کریں گے اور کمزور لوگ مستکبرین لوگوں سے کہیں گے کہ ہم تمہاری پیروی کرنے والے تھے تو کیا تم جہنّم کے کچھ حصّہ سے بھی ہمیں بچا سکتے ہو اور ہمارے کام آسکتے ہو۔

Then they will say, ‘If Allah had guided us, we too would have guided you;’ In this verse the word ‘arrogant’ is used. Do you know the meaning of ‘arrogant’? It means when one does not obey those whom Allah (swt) has ordered to be obeyed and when one considers himself greater than those whom Allah (swt) has ordered obedience to. Such people are mentioned in Holy Qur’an. If you ponder upon the Holy Qur’an, it has condemned those who are arrogant and advises the people to follow those whom Allah has ordered the obedience of (61:4)...

پھر وہ کہیں گے:اگر اللہ ہمیں ہدایت دیتا تو ہم بھی تمہیں ہدایت دیتے۔ اس آیت میں متکبرکا لفظ آیا ہے۔ کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ متکبر کا مطلب کیا ہے؟ متکبر وہ ہے جو ان لوگوں کی اطاعت نہیں کرتا جن کی اطاعت کا اللہ نے حکم دیا ہے، اور جو اپنے آپ کو ان سے بڑا سمجھتا ہے جن کی اطاعت اللہ نے لازم کی ہے۔ ایسے لوگوں کا ذکر قرآن میں آیا ہے۔ اگر تم قرآن پر غور کرو تو تم دیکھو گے کہ قرآن نے تکبر کرنے والوں کی مذمت کی ہے، اور لوگوں کو یہ نصیحت کی ہے کہ ان کی پیروی کرو جن کی اطاعت کا اللہ نے حکم دیا ہے (۶۱:۴)۔۔۔

اِنَّ اللهَ يُحِبُّ الَّذِيْنَ يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِهٖ صَفًّا كَاَنَّهُمْ بُنْيَانٌ مَّرْصُوْصٌ

Innal laaha yuhibbul lazeena yuqaatiloona fee sabeelihee saffan ka annahum bunyaanum marsoos.

Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way in ranks as if they were a firm and compact wall.

بےشک اللہ ان لوگوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے جو اس کی راہ میں اس طرح صف باندھ کر جہاد کرتے ہیں جس طرح سیسہ پلائی ہوئی دیواریں۔

Do you know which is the Way of Allah? Do you know who is the Path of Allah? Do you know which is the Path of Allah?

کیا تم جانتے ہو اللہ کا راستہ کیا ہے؟ کیا تم جانتے ہو اللہ کی راہ/صراط کون ہے؟ کیا تم جانتے ہو اللہ کی راہ کس کے ذریعے پہچانی جاتی ہے؟

اَنَا صِرَاطُ اللهِ الَّذِيْ مَنْ لَمْ يَسْلُكْهُ بِطَاعَةِ اللهِ فِیْہِ هَوَىْ بِهٖ اِلَى النَّارِ وَاَنَا سَبِيْلُهُ الَّذِيْ نَصَبَنِيَ اللهُ لِلِاتِّبَاعِ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهٖ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ اَنَا قَسِيْمُ الْـجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ وَاَنَا حُـجَّةُ اللهِ عَلَى الْفُجَّارِ وَنُوْرُ الْاَنْوَارِ۔

I am the path of Allah of the One to Whom if anyone could not get nearness by dint of His obedience then he should peep into fire. I am the route of the one that after the Holy Prophet (s) whose obedience was ordained. I am the distributor of Paradise and Hell. I am the proof of Allah on evil-doers and I am the light of all lights.

میں اللہ کا صراط (سیدھا راستہ) ہوں جو شخص اللہ کی اطاعت کے ساتھ اس راستے پر نہیں چلے گا، وہ اسی کے سبب جہنم کی طرف جا گرے گا۔ اور میں اللہ کی راہ (سبیل) ہوں جسے اللہ نے اپنے نبیؐ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ) کے بعد پیروی کے لیے قائم کیا ہے۔ میں جنت اور جہنم کا تقسیم کرنے والا / پہچان کروانے والا ہوں (یعنی حق و باطل کے معیار سے لوگوں کا انجام واضح ہوتا ہے)۔ اور میں گناہگاروں پر اللہ کی حجّت (یعنی اللہ کی طرف سے دلیل و اتمامِ حجت) ہوں، اور نوروں کا نور ہوں۔

Then (O people) wake up from the sleep of negligence and hasten to perform good deeds before death for gaining the forgiveness of your Lord, and before you reach to such a place where the mercy of Allah (swt) resides but is surrounded by the wrath of Allah which prevents you from reaching the mercy (This barrier would be erected between faithful believers and hypocrites). You will weep but no one will hear you. You will call out for help but you will not find anyone to help you. Hasten towards worship and obedience before the time finishes and you are unable to gain salvation. May Allah (swt) have mercy upon you. Perform good deeds with your family members and brothers-in-faith and keep on good relations with them before the dissolution of this assembly (death). Express gratitude to Almighty Allah for the blessings given by Him. Treat each other with goodness, Allah will multiply love and affection between you. Exchange His blessings amongst you. Your lifetime and wealth is increased by doing good deeds with them. One who treats with love and affection gets the favours and blessings of Allah (swt). So be happy and make your brothers happy by favouring them with fine dresses, fragrance and food.

پھر (اے لوگو!) غفلت کی نیند سے جاگ جاؤ، اور موت سے پہلے نیک اعمال کی طرف جلدی کرو تاکہ تم اپنے رب کی مغفرت حاصل کر لو۔ اور اس سے پہلے کہ تم ایسی حالت میں پہنچ جاؤ کہ اللہ کی رحمت تو قریب ہو، مگر اس کے گرد غضب کی دیوار / رکاوٹ ہو جو تمہیں رحمت تک پہنچنے سے روک دے (یہ وہ پردہ / حجاب ہے جو مومنوں اور منافقوں کے درمیان قائم کر دیا جائے گا)۔ اس وقت تم روؤ گے مگر کوئی تمہاری بات نہیں سنے گا۔ تم مدد کے لیے پکارو گے مگر کوئی مددگار نہ ملے گا۔ پس عبادت اور اطاعت کی طرف جلدی کرو، اس سے پہلے کہ وقت ختم ہو جائے اور تم نجات حاصل نہ کر سکو۔ اللہ تم پر رحم کرے۔ اپنے گھر والوں اور اہلِ ایمان بھائیوں کے ساتھ نیکی کرو، اور ان کے ساتھ اچھے تعلقات قائم رکھو، اس مجلس کے ٹوٹنے (یعنی موت) سے پہلے۔ اللہ کی دی ہوئی نعمتوں پر شکر ادا کرو۔ آپس میں بھلائی سے پیش آؤ اللہ تمہارے دلوں میں محبت اور اُلفت بڑھا دے گا۔ اللہ کی نعمتیں آپس میں بانٹو۔ جو شخص اپنے اہل و احباب کے ساتھ نیکی کرتا ہے، اس کی عمر اور رزق میں اضافہ ہوتا ہے۔ جو محبت اور خیرخواہی سے پیش آتا ہے، اسے اللہ کی خاص مہربانیاں اور برکتیں ملتی ہیں۔ پس خوش رہو اور اپنے مومن بھائیوں کو بھی خوش کرو انہیں اچھے کپڑے دو، خوشبو دو، اور کھانا کھلاؤ۔

Whatever facilities you have, present them to your family members and brothers as much as you can. Express spaciousness in yourselves. Meet each other with open heart and whatever Allah (swt) has bestowed upon you, you must thank Him. Meet the person with more goodness who expects goodness from you and help him as much as you can from the possesions you have. On this day if you spend one dirham it will be as if you spent 100,000 dirhams. Allah will bless anyone who helps a believing brother on this day with immeasurable rewards. Allah has reserved the great reward for the person who observes fast on this day to the extent that if a person observes fast from the beginning of the first day of this Universe till the last day and remains awake for the whole nights, he will not be able to equalize the great reward of this day’s fast. If somebody helps his brother-in-faith without being asked for and with fondness, favours him with goodness and gives him loan, he will be liable of getting the reward equal to the person who observed fast today and spent his night in worship. If someone invites a brother-in-faith for breaking of fast on the day of Ghadeer he will get the reward of breaking of fast to Fa-aami, Fa-aami. Imam (a) has repeated this 10 times. One person stood up and asked: O Ameerul Momineen (a) what do you mean by ‘Fa-aami’?

جو سہولتیں اور وسائل تمہارے پاس ہیں، اپنے گھر والوں اور ایمان والے بھائیوں کے سامنے جتنے ہو سکیں پیش کرو۔ اپنے اندر کشادگی پیدا کرو۔ ایک دوسرے سے کھلے دل کے ساتھ ملو، اور جو کچھ اللہ نے تمہیں عطا کیا ہے اس پر شکر ادا کرو۔ جو شخص تم سے بھلائی کی امید رکھتا ہو، اس کے ساتھ زیادہ بھلائی کرو، اور اپنے پاس جو کچھ ہے اس میں سے حسبِ توفیق مدد کرو۔ اس دن اگر تم ایک درہم خرچ کرو تو گویا تم نے ایک لاکھ درہم خرچ کیے۔ اللہ اس دن کسی مومن بھائی کی مدد کرنے والے کو بے حساب اجر عطا فرماتا ہے۔ اللہ نے اس دن کے روزے کے لیے اتنا بڑا اجر رکھا ہے کہ اگر کوئی شخص کائنات کے پہلے دن سے آخری دن تک روزے رکھے اور ساری راتیں عبادت میں جاگتا رہے، تب بھی اس دن کے روزے کے اجر کے برابر نہیں پہنچ سکتا۔ اور اگر کوئی شخص بغیر مانگے اور خوش دلی سے اپنے دینی بھائی کی مدد کرے، اس کے ساتھ احسان کرے اور اسے قرض دے، تو اسے بھی اس شخص کے برابر اجر ملے گا جس نے آج روزہ رکھا اور رات عبادت میں گزاری۔ اور جو شخص عیدِ غدیر کے دن کسی مومن بھائی کو افطار کروائے تو اسے افطار کرانے کا ثواب “فَآمِی، فَآمِی” ملے گا امامؑ نے یہ بات دس بار دہرائی۔ پھر ایک شخص کھڑا ہوا اور عرض کیا: اے امیرالمومنینؑ! فَآمی سے کیا مراد ہے؟ فآمی کا مطلب): یعنی ایک لاکھ اور اسی روایت میں اس کی تشریح ایک لاکھ انبیاء، شہداء اور صالحین کے طور پر بھی آئی ہے۔

Imam (a) replied:(Fa-aami means) One lakh prophets and martyrs and righteous persons. I am the guarantee of Allah (swt) that anyone who takes care of his believing brother on this day will be protected from disbelief and poverty. If he dies on this day or in its night or till the next day of Ghadeer his reward will be reserved with Allah provided he did not commit any sin. I stand guarantee for the one who takes a loan to help his believing brother will have his loan repaid and if he dies before repaying the loan, then Allah (swt) Himself will repay the loan. Today when you meet each other, shake hands and express your happiness for the blessings of this day. Remember the greatest blessing of Allah (swt) was revealed upon you this day. Anyone who is present here should convey this to those who are not present here as well as to those who have already left this gathering. No excuse for not doing so will be accepted. After this Imam (a) started delivering the sermon of Friday and declared the Friday prayer as the prayer of Eid. After the khutba and the Friday prayer, Imam Ali (a) went with his family members to the house of Imam Hasan Ibn Ali (a) who had arranged a major feast for the whole family and the companions, rich and poor alike, for that special occasion.

امامؑ نے فرمایا: فَآمی سے مراد ہے: ایک لاکھ انبیاء، ایک لاکھ شہداء، اور ایک لاکھ نیک بندے (صالحین)۔ پھر امیرالمومنینؑ نے فرمایا: میں اللہ کی ضمانت دیتا ہوں کہ جو شخص آج کے دن اپنے مومن بھائی کی خبرگیری کرے گا، اللہ اسے کفر اور فقر سے محفوظ رکھے گا۔ اور اگر کوئی شخص اس دن یا اس کی رات میں یا اگلے دنِ غدیر تک وفات پا جائے تو اس کا اجر اللہ کے پاس محفوظ رہے گا بشرطیکہ اس نے کوئی گناہ نہ کیا ہو۔ اور میں اس شخص کا بھی ضامن ہوں جو اپنے مومن بھائی کی مدد کے لیے قرض لے: اللہ اس کے قرض کی ادائیگی آسان کر دے گا، اور اگر وہ قرض ادا کرنے سے پہلے مر جائے تو اللہ خود اس کا قرض ادا کر دے گا۔ آج جب تم ایک دوسرے سے ملو تو مصافحہ کرو، اور اس دن کی نعمت پر خوشی کا اظہار کرو۔ یاد رکھو: آج اللہ کی سب سے بڑی نعمت تم پر نازل ہوئی ہے۔ جو لوگ یہاں موجود ہیں، ان پر لازم ہے کہ وہ یہ بات ان تک پہنچائیں جو حاضر نہیں ہیں، اور ان تک بھی جو اس مجلس سے جا چکے ہیں۔ اس کام میں کوتاہی کا کوئی عذر قبول نہیں کیا جائے گا۔ اس کے بعد امامؑ نے جمعہ کے خطبے کا آغاز کیا، اور نمازِ جمعہ کو نمازِ عید قرار دیا۔ خطبہ اور نمازِ جمعہ کے بعد امام علیؑ اپنے گھر والوں کے ساتھ امام حسن بن علیؑ کے گھر تشریف لے گئے۔ امام حسنؑ نے اس خاص موقع پر بڑا ضیافت کا اہتمام کیا تھا جس میں اہلِ بیت، اصحاب، امیر و غریب سب کو کھلایا گیا۔

It is written in the book ‘al-Nashar wa al-Tayy’ that Imam Reza (a) said: When the Day of Judgement comes about, four days shall hasten towards Allah, the Noble and Grand, just as a bride hastens towards her bridal chamber. When asked what are those four Holy days? Imam (a) replied: The day of al-Fitr, the day of al-Azha, the day of al-Juma’h, and the day of Ghadeer Khumm. If compared Eid Ghadeer is like a moon amongst the stars. Eid’e Ghadeer is the same day when Prophet Ibrahim (a) was salvaged from the fire of Namrood by Allah, the High. He observed fast on this day in order to thank Him. This is the same day on which the religion was completed and the Holy Prophet (s) appointed Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a) as his successor. He (s) declared him excellence and successorship and observed fast on this day.

کتاب النَّشْر وَالطَّیّ میں لکھا ہے کہ امام رضاؑ نے فرمایا: جب قیامت قائم ہوگی تو چار دن اللہ (عزّوجل) کی طرف اس طرح تیزی سے بڑھیں گے جیسے دلہن اپنے حجلۂ عروسی (دلہن کے کمرے) کی طرف جلدی کرتی ہے۔ پوچھا گیا: وہ چار مقدس دن کون سے ہیں؟ امامؑ نے فرمایا: عید الفطر کا دن عید الاضحیٰ کا دن جمعہ کا دن عیدِ غدیرِ خم کا دن اور اگر عیدِ غدیر کا موازنہ کیا جائے تو وہ ستاروں کے درمیان چاند کی طرح ہے۔ عیدِ غدیر وہی دن ہے جس دن اللہ تعالیٰ نے حضرت ابراہیمؑ کو نمرود کی آگ سے نجات دی۔ حضرت ابراہیمؑ نے شکرانے کے طور پر اس دن روزہ رکھا۔ اور یہ وہی دن ہے جس میں دین مکمل کیا گیا، اور رسولِ خداؐ نے امام علی ابن ابی طالبؑ کو اپنا جانشین مقرر فرمایا۔ رسولؐ نے ان کی فضیلت اور خلافت کا اعلان کیا، اور اس دن روزہ بھی رکھا۔

The day of Ghadeer is the day of completion of religion and of degradation of Satan. On this day the good deeds of the Shias and the lovers of the Holy Prophet (s) and his pure progeny (a) are accepted and the deeds of evil-doers are destroyed like dust by Allah, the High. This is the day when Allah, the High, ordered Jibraeel (a) to place His throne of Dignity in front of Bait al-Ma’moor. On this day all the angels of the sky gather around it and praise the Holy Prophet (s) and seek forgiveness of Almighty Allah for the Shias of Ali ibn Abi Talib (a) and other infallible Imams (a). This is the same day when Allah, the High, ordains the noble recorders of deeds (Keraaman Kaatebin) not to record any sin of the Shias of Prophet Muhammad (s) and Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a) and other Imams committed by them for three days from the Day of Ghadeer due to their grace and magnificience.

عیدِ غدیر دین کے مکمل ہونے اور شیطان کی ذلت / پسپائی کا دن ہے۔ اس دن اہلِ تشیع اور رسولِ خداؐ اور ان کی پاک آلؑ کے محبین کے نیک اعمال قبول کیے جاتے ہیں، اور بدکاروں کے اعمال کو اللہ تعالیٰ گرد و غبار کی طرح بکھیر دیتا ہے۔ یہ وہ دن ہے جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے جبرئیلؑ کو حکم دیا کہ وہ عرشِ عزّت کو بیت المعمور کے سامنے قائم کرے۔ اس دن آسمان کے تمام فرشتے وہاں جمع ہوتے ہیں، رسولِ خداؐ کی مدح و ثنا کرتے ہیں، اور اللہ تعالیٰ سے امام علی ابن ابی طالبؑ اور دیگر معصوم ائمہؑ کے شیعوں کے لیے مغفرت طلب کرتے ہیں۔ اور یہی وہ دن ہے جب اللہ تعالیٰ کراماً کاتبین (اعمال لکھنے والے فرشتوں) کو حکم دیتا ہے کہ عیدِ غدیر کے دن سے تین دن تک رسولِ خداؐ اور امام علیؑ اور دیگر ائمہؑ کے شیعوں سے سرزد ہونے والے گناہوں کو لکھیں نہیں یہ اللہ کی طرف سے ان پر فضل، کرم اور بزرگی کی وجہ سے ہے۔

This is the day which has been declared as a special day for the lovers of the Holy Prophet (s) and his progeny. This is the day when the Almighty Allah elevated the status of every such person and gave relief from the fire of hell who passed the day in worship and persuade his relatives and friends to do the same. This is the day when the Almighty Allah thanked the Shias for their good deeds and accepted their good deeds after forgiving their sins. The day of Ghadeer is the day of getting the sins cleansed and of retribution and rewards, the day of nobility and divine inspiration and on this day the supplications are responded. The day of Ghadeer is a dignified day. This is the day of putting on beautiful dresses and putting off black clothes. The day of Ghadeer is the day of getting released from sorrows. On this day, sins of Shias are oversighted and on this day too much salutations on Muhammad (s) and his progeny (a) should be sent.

یہ وہ دن ہے جسے رسولِ خداؐ اور اُن کی آلؑ کے محبین کے لیے خاص دن قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ یہ وہ دن ہے جس میں اللہ تعالیٰ ہر اُس شخص کا درجہ بلند کرتا ہے جو اس دن عبادت میں گزارے اور اپنے رشتہ داروں اور دوستوں کو بھی اسی کی ترغیب دے، اور ایسے شخص کو آگِ جہنم سے نجات عطا فرماتا ہے۔ یہ وہ دن ہے جس میں اللہ تعالیٰ شیعوں کے نیک اعمال کی قدر دانی کرتا ہے، ان کے گناہ معاف کر کے ان کی نیکیاں قبول فرماتا ہے۔ عیدِ غدیر گناہوں کے دھلنے کا دن ہے، بدلہ اور اجر پانے کا دن ہے، عزت اور الہامی توفیق کا دن ہے، اور اسی دن دعائیں قبول ہوتی ہیں۔ عیدِ غدیر باعظمت دن ہے۔ یہ اچھی پوشاک پہننے اور سیاہ لباس اتارنے / چھوڑنے کا دن ہے۔ عیدِ غدیر غموں سے رہائی کا دن ہے۔ اس دن شیعوں کے گناہوں سے درگزر کیا جاتا ہے، اور اسی دن محمدؐ اور اُن کی آلؑ پر بہت زیادہ درود و سلام بھیجنا چاہیے۔

The day of Ghadeer is the day of pleasures. This is the day of Eid for infallible descendants of Holy Prophet (s), the day of acceptance of good deeds and asking the blessings from Allah, the High, day of comfort for the faithful believers, day of the matters of friendship and attachment with the mercy of Almighty Allah. It is a day of self-purification and ostentations, a day for keeping away from the sins specially the major sins. This is the day of worship and the day for inviting the faithful believers for breaking of fast as this act is similar to the act of inviting lacs of people for breaking the fast. Because anyone who invites a brother-in-faith for breaking of fast on the day of Ghadeer he will get the reward of breaking of fast equal to Fi-aam. He (a) has repeated this 10 times and asked: Do you know what is the meaning of Fi-aam? It was said: No. Imam (a) said: One lakh persons. This is the day of exchanging greetings between believers. So, when you meet any of your brother-in-faith say to him…

عیدِ غدیر خوشیوں کا دن ہے۔ یہ رسولِ خداؐ کی پاک و معصوم اولادؑ کی عید کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن نیک اعمال کی قبولیت کا دن ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ سے برکتیں مانگنے کا دن ہے، مومنوں کے لیے آرام و سکون کا دن ہے، اور اللہ کی رحمت کے ساتھ محبت اور وابستگی مضبوط کرنے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن اپنے آپ کو پاک کرنے اور (اللہ کی نعمتوں کا) ظاہر کرنے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن گناہوں خاص طور پر گناہِ کبیرہ سے دور رہنے کا دن ہے۔ یہ دن عبادت کا بھی ہے اور اس دن مومنوں کو افطار کی دعوت دینا بہت بڑی فضیلت رکھتا ہے گویا تم نے لاکھوں لوگوں کو افطار کروایا۔ کیونکہ جو شخص عیدِ غدیر کے دن کسی مومن بھائی کو افطار کروائے اسے افطار کرانے کا اجر فِیعام کے برابر ملتا ہے۔ امامؑ نے یہ بات دس بار دہرائی اور فرمایا: کیا تم جانتے ہو فِیعام کا مطلب کیا ہے؟ لوگوں نے کہا: نہیں امامؑ نے فرمایا: ایک لاکھ آدمی۔ یہ دن مومنوں کے درمیان مبارکباد اور سلام کے تبادلے کا دن ہے۔ لہٰذا جب تم اپنے مومن بھائی سے ملو تو اس سے کہو۔۔۔

اَلْـحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَمَسِّكِيْنَ بِوَلَايَةِ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْاَئِـمَّةِ عَلَیْہِمُ السَّلَامُ۔

Praise be to Allah, who blessed us to be among those who cling and hold to the "Wilayaat" (love, friendship and authority) of Ameer al-Momineen and all the Imams (a).

تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہمیں امیرالمومنینؑ اور ائمہؑ کی ولایت سے مضبوطی سے وابستہ رہنے والوں میں قرار دیا۔

On this day whoever meets the people with cheerful appearance and smiling face Almighty Allah will shower His mercy on the day of judgement and fulfil his demands in abundance and will construct for him a beautiful palace of pearls in the paradise. The day of Ghadeer is the day of a duration whoever adores himself on the day of Ghadeer keeping its dignity the Almighty Allah will forgive all his (major and minor) sins and send His angels towards him to record his good deeds till the next day of Ghadeer and elevate his status and take him as martyr if he dies and if he remains alive consider him as a fortunate one. On this day if anyone feeds any faithful believer it would be considered as if he fed the prophets and truthful persons. Whoever goes on this day to meet any faithful believer the Almighty Allah will illuminate and will make his grave wide and every day seventy thousand angles will come to meet him and will give him glad tiding of paradise.

اس دن جو شخص لوگوں سے خوش اخلاقی کے ساتھ ملے، خوش شکل رہے اور مسکراتے چہرے کے ساتھ پیش آئے، اللہ تعالیٰ قیامت کے دن اس پر اپنی رحمت نازل فرمائے گا، اس کی حاجتیں کثرت سے پوری کرے گا، اور جنت میں اس کے لیے موتیوں کا خوبصورت محل بنائے گا۔ عیدِ غدیر ایک ایسا دن ہے کہ جو شخص اس دن اس کی حرمت کا خیال رکھتے ہوئے اپنے آپ کو سنوارے، اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے چھوٹے بڑے تمام گناہ معاف فرما دیتا ہے، اور اس کی طرف فرشتے بھیجتا ہے کہ اگلے دنِ غدیر تک اس کی نیکیاں لکھتے رہیں، اس کا درجہ بلند کریں۔ پھر اگر وہ اس دن (یا اس کے بعد) وفات پا جائے تو اسے شہید شمار کیا جاتا ہے، اور اگر زندہ رہے تو اسے خوش نصیب قرار دیا جاتا ہے۔ اس دن اگر کوئی شخص کسی مومن کو کھانا کھلائے تو یہ ایسا ہے جیسے اس نے انبیاء اور صدیقین کو کھانا کھلایا۔ اور جو شخص اس دن کسی مومن کی ملاقات کے لیے جائے، اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی قبر کو روشن کرے گا اور اسے کشادہ کرے گا، اور ہر دن ستر ہزار فرشتے اس کی قبر پر آئیں گے، اسے جنت کی بشارت دیں گے۔

Then the Wilayat (Divine Guardianship) descended on the earth and first of all Makkah accepted it and due to which Holy Ka’bah got adorned, then the city of Madinah accepted it, due to which the existence of Holy Prophet (s) was adorned. Then Kufa got up to accept it which cause the adornment of Imam Ali ibne Abi Talib (a). Then the wilayat was presented on the hills. There were three hills who first of all accepted it and they were, Hill of Agate (Aqeeq), Hill of Turquoise (Firoza) and Hill of Sapphaire (Yaqoot) and due to which they got the status of best hills. Thereafter the other hills accepted it and due to which they got treasures of silver and gold and the others which didn’t accept it they could not get anything. On the same day wilayat was presented to the water, the one which accepted it got sweetness and those which refused were made salty.

پھر ولایت (الٰہی سرپرستی) زمین پر نازل ہوئی۔ سب سے پہلے مکّہ نے اسے قبول کیا، اسی وجہ سے کعبۂ شریف کو زینت ملی۔ پھر مدینہ نے اسے قبول کیا، جس سے وجودِ مبارکِ رسولِ خداؐ کی شان نمایاں ہوئی۔ پھر کوفہ نے آگے بڑھ کر اسے قبول کیا، جس سے امام علی ابن ابی طالبؑ کی عظمت اور زینت ظاہر ہوئی۔ اس کے بعد ولایت کو پہاڑوں کے سامنے پیش کیا گیا۔ تین پہاڑ سب سے پہلے اسے قبول کرنے والے تھے: عقیق کا پہاڑ، فیروزہ کا پہاڑ، یاقوت کا پہاڑ۔ اسی وجہ سے انہیں سب سے افضل پہاڑوں کا درجہ ملا۔ پھر دوسرے پہاڑوں نے بھی اسے قبول کیا، تو اللہ نے انہیں چاندی اور سونے کے خزانے عطا کیے۔ اور جنہوں نے اسے قبول نہ کیا، انہیں کچھ بھی نصیب نہ ہوا۔ اسی دن ولایت کو پانی کے سامنے بھی پیش کیا گیا۔ جس پانی نے اسے قبول کیا وہ میٹھا بنا دیا گیا، اور جس نے انکار کیا وہ کھارا کر دیا گیا۔

In the same manner wilayat was presented to the vegetables and those which accepted were made sweet and which of them refused were made sour. Then it was put before the birds and those which accepted it got fast and acute voices and which of them refused remained dumb. The event of accepting the Divine Guardianship (Wilayat of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a)) on the day of Ghadeer is similar to the event of prostration of angels to Prophet Adam (a). اسی طرح ولایت سبزیوں کے سامنے بھی پیش کی گئی۔ جن سبزیوں نے اسے قبول کیا، انہیں میٹھا بنا دیا گیا، اور جنہوں نے انکار کیا، انہیں کھٹا بنا دیا گیا۔ پھر ولایت پرندوں کے سامنے پیش کی گئی۔ جن پرندوں نے اسے قبول کیا، انہیں تیز اور صاف آوازیں عطا کی گئیں، اور جنہوں نے انکار کیا وہ گونگے/بے آواز رہ گئے۔ عیدِ غدیر کے دن ولایتِ امام علی ابن ابی طالبؑ کو قبول کرنے کا واقعہ، فرشتوں کے حضرت آدمؑ کو سجدہ کرنے والے واقعے کی طرح ہے۔ اور ولایتِ امام علیؑ کا انکار، شیطان کے آدمؑ کو سجدہ کرنے سے انکار کی طرح ہے۔ اور یہ وہی دن ہے جب آیت (۵:۳)نازل ہوئی۔۔۔

اَلْيَوْمَ اَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِيْنَكُمْ وَاَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِيْ وَرَضِيْتُ لَكُمُ الْاِسْلَامَ دِيْنًا۔

…alyawma akmaltu lakum deenakum wa atmamtu a’laikum ni’matee wa radeetu lakumul islaama deenaa…

…This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion…

۔۔۔آج میں نے تمہارے لئے دین کو کامل کردیا ہے اور اپنی نعمتوں کو تمام کردیا ہے اور تمہارے لئے دین اسلام کو پسندیدہ بنادیا ہے۔۔۔

Allah, the High, appointed every prophet on the day of Ghadeer and to those who knew the dignity of this day and at the same time were appointed as their successor

اللہ تعالیٰ نے عیدِ غدیر کے دن ہر نبیؑ کو منصبِ نبوت عطا فرمایا، اور جن لوگوں نے اس دن کی شان و عظمت کو پہچانا، ان کے لیے اسی دن جانشین/وصی بھی مقرر فرمایا۔
