دبل خزائی کے بھائی روایت کرتے ہیں: میرے آقا امام رضاؑ نے اپنے والد بزرگوار امام موسی کاظمؑ سے روایت کی ہے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے اپنے والد امام جعفر صادقؑ سے سنا ہے کہ انہوں نے رات میں حفاظت کے لئے اس دعا کو پڑھنے کی تاکید کی ہے۔۔۔

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

اِذَا اَمْسٰى اَمْسَيْنَا وَاَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلهِ الْواحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ، وَالْـحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِيْنَ الَّذِيْ اَذْهَبَ بِالنَّهَارِ وَجَآءَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَنَـحْنُ فِيْ عَافِيَةٍ مِنْهُ، اَللّٰهُمَّ هٰذَا خَلْقٌ جَدِيْدٌ قَدْ غَشَّانَا، فَمَا عَمِلْتُ فِيْهِ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَسَهِّلْهُ وَقَيِّضْهُ وَكُبَّهٗ اَضْعَافًا مُضَاعَفَةً، وَمَا عَمِلْتُ فِيْهِ مِنْ شَرٍّ فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْهُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ، اَمْسَيْتُ لَا اَمْلِكُ مَا اَرْجُوْ، وَلَا اَدْفَعُ شَرَّ مَا اَخْشٰى، اَمْسَى الْاَمْرُ لِغَيْرِيْ، وَاَمْسَيْتُ مُرْتَهِنًا بِكَسْبِيْ، وَاَمْسَيْتُ لَا فَقِيْرَ اَفْقَرُ مِنِّيْ، فَاتَّسِعْ لِفَقْرِيْ مِنْ سِعَتِكَ مِمَّا كَتَبْتَ عَلٰى نَفْسِكَ التَّقْوٰي مَا اَبْقَيْتَنِيْ، وَالْكَرَامَةَ اِذَا تَوَفَّيْتَنِيْ، وَالصَّبْرَ عَلٰى مَا ابْتَلَيْتَنِيْ، وَالْبَرَكَةَ فِيْمَا رَزَقْتَنِيْ، وَالْعَزْمَ عَلٰى طَاعَتِكَ فِيْمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمُرِيْ، وَالشُّكْرَ لَكَ فِيْمَا اَنْعَمْتَ بِهٖ عَلَيَّ۔

Ezaa amsaa amsaynaa wa amsal mulko lillaahil waahedil qahhaare wal hamdo lillaahe rabbil a’alameenal lazee azhaba bin-nahaare wa jaaa-a billayle wa nahno fee a’afeyatin minh.

Allaahumma haaza khalqun jadeedun qad ghashshanaa, famaa a’milto feehe min khayrin fa-sah-hil-ho wa qayyiz-ho wa kubbahu az-a’afan mozaa-a’fatan, wa maa a’milto feehe min sharrin fa-tajaa-waz a’nho berahmatek.

Amsayto laa amleko maa arjoo, wa laa ad-fa-o’ sharra maa akhshaa, amsal amro leghayree, wa amsayto murtahanan be-kas-bee, wa amsayto laa faqeera afqaro minne, fat-tase’ lefaqree min se-a’teka mimmaa katabta a’laa nafsekat taqwaa maa ab- qaytanee, wal karaamata ezaa tawaffaytanee, was sabra a’laa mab talaytane, wal barakata feemaa razaqtanee, wal a’zma a’laa taa-a’teka feemaa baqeya min u’mree, wash shukra laka feemaa ana’mta behi a’layya.

When evening comes, we spend the evening, and Kingdom became Allah’s; the One and All-Omnipotent, and all praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds, Who has taken away the day and brought the night and we are in safety from it. O Allah! This is new creation which has certainly wrapped us, then whatever good I have done in it make it easy and available, increase it many folds, and whatever evil I have done in it then overlook it with Your Mercy. I did evening while I do not own anything except what I hope, and I defend evil for which I fear, my affair is in the hands of other, and I did evening while I depend upon my earning, and I did evening in the condition that nobody is poorer than me, so remove my poorness with Your wealth for what You have written upon Yourself, piety, till the time I remain, and honour till I die, and patience till You test me, and blessing in what you bestow, and determination upon Your obedience till my remaining life, and thankfulness to You in what You have blessed me.

جب شام ہوتی ہے تو ہم بھی شام کرتے ہیں، اور بادشاہی اللہ واحد و قہار کی ہو جاتی ہے۔ تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں جو تمام جہانوں کا رب ہے؛ جس نے دن کو رخصت کیا اور رات کو لے آیا، اور ہم اس کے (گزرنے / آنے) میں عافیت میں ہیں۔ اے اللہ! یہ ایک نیا وقت ہے جو ہم پر چھا گیا ہے۔ اس میں میں نے جو بھلائی کی ہو اسے آسان فرما، اس کے اسباب مہیا کر، اور اسے کئی گنا بڑھا کر قبول فرما۔ اور اس میں مجھ سے جو برائی ہو گئی ہو، تو اپنی رحمت سے اس سے درگزر فرما۔ میں شام کرتا ہوں اس حال میں کہ میں اپنی امید کی چیز کا مالک نہیں، اور نہ اس برائی کو ہٹا سکتا ہوں جس سے ڈرتا ہوں۔ معاملہ میرے اختیار میں نہیں، اور میں اپنی کمائی (اعمال) کے بدلے گروی ہوں۔ اور میں شام کرتا ہوں کہ مجھ سے بڑھ کر کوئی فقیر نہیں۔ پس اپنی وسعت سے میرے فقر کے لیے گنجائش پیدا فرما: جب تک تو مجھے باقی رکھے مجھے تقویٰ عطا کر، اور جب تو مجھے وفات دے تو عزت و کرامت عطا فرما۔ اور جس آزمائش میں تو نے مجھے ڈالا ہے اس پر صبر دے، اور جو رزق تو نے دیا ہے اس میں برکت دے، اور باقی عمر میں اپنی اطاعت کا پختہ عزم عطا فرما، اور اپنی نعمتوں پر تیرا شکر نصیب کر۔

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔

Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin

Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.

اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
