Testimony from 40 Faithful Believers

۴۰ مومنین کی گواہی

1. Through a valid chain of authority, Imam Sadiq (a) is reported to have said, “When a faithful believer dies and his funeral is attended by 40 faithful believers who say these words about him, Almighty Allah will say to them: Your testimony is admitted and I will forgive him what you do not know about him but I do:”...

   معتبر سند کے ساتھ امام جعفر صادقؑ سے منقول ہے : جب کوئی مومن مرتا ہے اور اس کے جنازے پر آکر ۴۰ مومن یہ کہتے ہیں۔۔۔

2. اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّا لَانَعْلَمُ مِنْہُ اِلَّا خَیْرًا وَّاَنْتَ اَعْلَمُ بِہٖ مِنَّا۔

   ALLAAHUMMA INNAA LAA NA'LAMU MINHU ILLAA KHAYRAN WA-ANTA A'LAMU BIHEE MINNAA.

   O Allah, we do not know about him but goodness, while You know him better than we do.

   اے معبود! ہم اس کے متعلق سوائے نیکی کے کچھ نہیں جانتے اور تو اسے ہم سے زیادہ جانتا ہے۔

3. According to another validly reported tradition, the Holy Prophet (s) has said, “The first title of a faithful believer’s Record of Deeds is what people say about him after his death. If they say good things, then his Record is good; but if they say evil things, then his Record is evil.”

   تو خدائے تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے: میں نے تمہاری گواہی قبول کر لی اور اس کے گناہ معاف کر دیئے ہیں جن کو تم نہیں جانتے ہو اور میں جانتا ہوں۔ ایک اور معتبر حدیث میں رسول اﷲؐ سے منقول ہے : مومن کے مرنے کے بعد وہ پہلی چیز جو اس کے نامۂ اعمال میں لکھتے ہیں وہ وہی ہوتی ہے جو بات لوگ اس کے بارے میں کہتے ہیں، اگر نیک بات کہتے ہیں تو نیکی لکھی جاتی ہے اور اگر بری بات کہتے ہیں تو برائی لکھی جاتی ہے۔
