شیخ کلینیؒ، ابن بابویہؒ اور دیگر علماء نے امام محمد باقرؑ سے روایت کی ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے حضرت نوحؑ کو عبد شکور (بہت شکر کرنے والا بندہ) کہہ کر یاد کیا ہے، اس کی وجہ یہ تھی کہ وہ ہر صبح و شام یہ دعا پڑھا کرتے تھے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اُشْهِدُكَ اَنَّهٗ مَا اَمْسٰى وَاَصْبَحَ بِىْ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ اَوْ عَافِيَةٍ فِى دِيْنٍ اَوْ دُنْيَا فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَاشَريْكَ لَكَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ بِهَا عَلَىَّ حَتّٰى تَرْضٰى اِلٰهَنَا۔
Allaahumma innee ushhiduka annahoo maa amsaa wa-asbaha bee min ni'matin aw 'aafiyatin fee deenin aw dunyaa faminka wahdaka laasharyka laka laka al-hamdu walaka ash-shukru bihaa 'alayya hattaa tardaa ilaahanaa.
O Allah, I call You to witness that whatever blessing or well-being I have as I enter the evening or the morning whether in my religion or my worldly life is from You alone; You have no partner. So all praise belongs to You, and all thanks for it belong to You, until You are pleased, our God.
اے معبود! میں تجھے گواہ بناتا ہوں اس پر کہ مجھے صبح و شام جو نعمت و عافیت ملتی ہے وہ دنیا کی نعمت و عافیت ہو یا دین کی پس تیری طرف سے ہے تو یکتا ہے تیرا کوئی شریک نہیں ان چیزوں میں مجھ پر تیری حمد و شکر لازم ہے حتٰی کہ تو راضی ہو جائے اے ہمارے معبود۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔

بعض روایات میں یوں ہے، یہ دعا دونوں صورتوں میں بہتر ہے اور اسے ۱۰ مرتبہ پڑھنا چاہیئے۔۔۔

Allaahumma innahoo maa asbaha bee min ni'matin aw 'aafiyatin fee deenin aw dunyaa faminka wahdaka laashareeka laka, laka al-hamdu walaka ash-shukru bihaa 'alayya hattaa tardaa waba'da ar-ridaa.
O Allah, whatever blessing or well-being I have this morning whether in my religion or my worldly life is from You alone; You have no partner. So all praise belongs to You, and all thanks for it belong to You, until You are pleased and even after You are pleased.
اے معبود! مجھے دین و دنیا میں جو بھی نعمت و عافیت ملتی ہے وہ تیری طرف سے ہے، تو یکتا ہے تیرا کوئی شریک نہیں ہے ان چیزوں میں مجھ پر تیری حمد و شکر لازم ہے حتٰی کہ تو راضی ہو جائے اور رضا کے بعد بھی تیری حمد۔
