The time of Istekhaara
استخاره کا وقت
In his book of Taqwim Muhsinin, Muhaddith Kashani has mentioned special times in the week for practicing Istikharah with the Glorious Qur’an, stating that these special times have been specified according to what is familiarly known by people, yet I have not found any tradition reported from the Ahl Bayt (a) in this respect. On Sundays, the suitable time for Istikharah is from the beginning of the day up to the noon and then from the afternoon up to sunset. On Mondays, the suitable time is from the beginning of the day up to sunrise, from lunch time to noon, and from afternoon to later evening. On Tuesdays, the suitable time is from lunch time to noon and from afternoon to later evening. On Wednesdays, the suitable time is from the beginning of the day up to noon and from afternoon to later evening. On Thursdays, the suitable time is from the beginning of the day up to sunrise and from noon up to later evening. On Fridays, the suitable time is from the beginning of the day up to sunrise and from midday to afternoon. On Saturdays, the suitable time is from the beginning of the day up to lunch time and from midday to afternoon. This table is quoted from the versified book of Madkhal by Muhaqqiq Tusi, may Allah purify the soil of his grave.
محدث کاشانیؒ نے تقويم المحسنين میں قرآن مجيد سے استخاره کرنے کے لئے ايام ہفتہ کی ساعتوں کا ذکر کيا ہے اور اس کے ساتھ ہی فرمايا ہے کہ يہ مشہور طريقے کی بنا پر ہے اور اہل بيت اطہارؑسے اس بارے میں کوئی حديث دستياب نہيں ہوئی، چنانچہ فرماتے ہيں استخاره کرنے کے سلسلے میں اتوار کا دن نيک ہے ظہر تک پھر عصر سے مغرب تک، پير کا دن نيک ہے طلوع آفتاب تک پھر دوپہر سے ظہر تک اور عصر سے عشاء کے آخری وقت تک، منگل کا دن نيک ہے دوپہر سے ظہر تک اور عصر سے عشاء کے آخر تک، بدھ کا دن نيک ہے ظہر تک اور عصر سے عشاء کے آخر تک، جمعرات کادن نيک ہے طلوع آفتاب تک اورظہر سے عشاء کے آخر تک، جمعہ کا دن نيک ہے طلوع آفتاب تک اور زوال سے عصر تک اور ہفتے کا دن نيک ہے دوپہر تک اور زوال سے عصر تک يہ جدول محقق طوسی ؒ کی کتاب مدخل منظوم سے نقل کيا گيا ہے۔
