مستحبات

1. The person performing the prayer should have Wuzu, Ghusl, or Tayammum; and the recommended precaution is that he should perform tayammum only when it is not possible for him to perform wuzu or ghusl, or he fears that were he to perform wuzu or ghusl, he would not reach the prayer in time.

   جو شخص نماز میت پڑھے وہ وضو، غسل یا تیمم کرے، اور احتیاط میں ہے کہ تیمم اس وقت کرے جب وضو اور غسل کرنا ممکن نہ ہو یا اسے خدشہ ہو کہ اگر وضو یا غسل کریگا تو نماز میں شریک نہ ہو سکےگا۔

2. If the deceased is male, the imam of the congregation or the person who is performing the prayer on his own should stand and face the middle part of the corpse; and if the deceased is female, they should stand and face her chest.

   اگر میت مرد ہو تو امام یا جو شخص اکیلا میت پر نماز پڑھ رہا ہو میت کے شکم کے سامنے کھڑا ہو اور اگر میت عورت ہو تو اس کے سینے کے سامنے کھڑا ہو۔

3. Performing the prayer bare-footed.

   نماز ننگے پاوں پڑھی جائے۔

4. Raising one’s hands for each takbeer.

   ہر تکبیر میں ہاتھوں کو (کان تک) بلند کیا جائے۔

5. The distance between the person who is performing the prayer and the corpse should be so little that if wind were to blow any loose clothing that the person happened to be wearing, it would touch the coffin.

   نمازی اور میت کے درمیان اتنا کم فاصلہ ہو کہ اگر ہوا نمازی کے لباس کو حرکت دے تو وہ جنازے کو جا چھوئے۔

6. Performing the prayer in congregation (Jamaat).

   نماز میت جماعت کے ساتھ پڑھی جائے۔

7. The imam of the congregation should say the takbeers and duas aloud, and those who are following him in the prayer should say them quietly.

   امام تکبیریں اور دعائیں بلند آواز سے پڑھے اور مقتدی آہستہ پڑھیں۔

8. If the prayer is being performed in congregation, the person following the imam should stand behind him even if he is the only one following the imam.

   نماز با جماعت میں مقتدی خواہ ایک شخص ہی کیوں نہ ہو امام کے پیچھے کھڑا ہو۔

9. Praying a lot for the deceased and for the believers.

   نماز پڑھنے والا میت اور مومنین کے لئے کثرت سے دعا کرے۔

10. If the prayer is being performed in congregation, AS-SALAAH should be said three times before commencing the prayer.

    با جماعت نماز سے پہلے تین مرتبہ (اَلصّلوٰۃ) کہے۔

11. Performing the prayer in a place where people go more often for performing Namaz-e-Mayyit.

    نماز ایسی جگہ پڑھی جائے جہاں نماز میت کے لئے لوگ زیادہ تر جاتے ہوں۔

12. If a haiz woman wants to perform Namaz-e-Mayyit in congregation, she should stand alone and not in the rows with other people who are performing the prayer.

    اگر حائض نماز میت جماعت کے ساتھ پڑھے تو اکیلی کھڑی ہو اور نمازیوں کی صف میں نہ کھڑی ہو۔

13. Performing Namaz-e-Mayyit in mosques is disapproved; performing it in Masjid ul-Haraam, however, is not disapproved.

    نماز میت مسجدوں میں پڑھنا مکروہ ہے لیکن مسجد الحرام میں پڑھنا مکروہ نہیں ہے۔
