Surah Qadr (97, 5 ayat)

سورۂ قدر

1. Grandeur (Makki)

2. Imam Mohummad Baqir (a) has said that whoever recites this Surah with a loud voice, it is as if he has lifted his sword to fight in the way of Allah (s) and whoever recites it slowly in his mind, it is as if he has been sacrificed in the way of Allah and has died a martyr. If a person recites this Surah 10 times, 1000 sins of his are forgiven. If recited in waajib namaz, all previous sins are forgiven. It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (s) that reciting this Surah once carries the reward of fasting for the whole month of Ramadhan. Constant recitation of this Surah, increases sustenance. If Surah Qadr is recited 11 times before sleeping, the reciter remains safe the whole night. Recitation in front of an enemy keeps one safe from his evil designs. For the paying back of loans, one should seek forgiveness and should recite Surah Qadr as many times as possible. Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) said that for pious children, one should keep his right hand on his wife and recite this Surah 7 times before going into her. If recited 7 times on the grave of a believer, his sins will be forgiven.

   رسول اکرمؐ نے فرمایا: سورۂ قدر کی تلاوت کرنے والے کا ثواب ماہِ مبارک میں روزہ رکھنے والے کے ثواب کے برابر ہے (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ ص۴۰۳)۔ امام جعفر صادقؑ سے مروی ہے : جو شخص واجب نماز میں سورۂ قدر پڑھے تو خدا تعالیٰ کی طرف سے ایک منادی ندا دے گا کہ اے شخص!تیرے پچھلے گناہ بخش دیئے گئے ہیں اب تو پھر سے عمل کا آغاز کر دے۔

3. بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

   BISMI ALLAAHI AR-RAHMAANI AR-RAHEEM

   In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

   اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

4. اِنَّآ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ فِيْ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ

   INNAA ANZALNAAHU FEE LAYLATI AL-QADR

   Surely We revealed it on the grand night.

   بے شک ہم نے اسے شب قدر میں نازل کیا ہے۔

5. وَمَآ اَدْرٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ

   WAMAA ADRAAKA MAA LAYLATU AL-QADR

   And what will make you comprehend what the grand night is?

   اور آپ کیا جانیں یہ شب قدر کیا چیز ہے۔

6. لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ اَلْفِ شَهْرٍ

   LAYLATU AL-QADRI KHAYRUN MIN ALFI SHAHR

   The grand night is better than a thousand months.

   شب قدر ہزار مہینوں سے بہتر ہے۔

7. تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ وَالرُّوْحُ فِيْهَا بِاِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّنْ كُلِّ اَمْرٍ

   TANAZZALU AL-MALAA'IKATU WAR-ROOHU FEEHAA BI-IZNI RABBIHIM MIN KULLI AMR

   The angels and the Spirit descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair

   اس میں ملائکہ اور روح القدس اذنِ خدا کے ساتھ تمام امور کو لے کر نازل ہوتے ہیں۔

8. سَلٰمٌ هِيَ حَتّٰى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ

   SALAAMUN HIYA HATTAA MATLA'I AL-FAJR

   Peace! it is till the break of the morning.

   یہ رات طلوع فجر تک سلامتی ہی سلامتی ہے۔

9. صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

   SADAQA ALLAAHU AL-'ALIYYU AL-'AZEEM.

   Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

   اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
