BASTS (Places of Refuge)بست (پناہ کی جگہ)
Basts were places of refuge from the tyranny of dictators and provided the best refuge for the people under persecution. In Aastaan’e Quds-Razavi there exist two large yards on each side of Sahne Enqelab (Revolution Court) namely Baste Payeen Khiaban (Lower Bast) and Baste Bala Khiaban (Upper Bast). Today Basts are used as two entrances to Imam Al-Reza's Holy Shrine. In recent years two new Basts have been built namely Baste Sheikh Bahai (between Gowharshad Mosque and Sahne Jomhuri Islami) and Baste Tabarsi (between the Islamic University and the new building of Aastaan’e Quds Library).
بست وہ مقامات تھے جہاں ظالم و جابروں سے بچنے کے لئے پناہ لی جاتی تھی، اور یہ بہترین اور محفوظ جگہ ہواکرتی تھی۔ آستان قدس رضوی میں دو بڑے احاطے صحن انقلاب کے دونوں طرف ہیں بست پایین خیابان (نچلا بست) اور بست بالائی خیابان (اوپری بست) کے نام سے جانا جاتا ہے۔ آج یہ دونوں بست امام رضاؑ کے حرم مطہر کے داخلہ کے طور پر استعمال ہوتے ہیں۔ حال ہی میں دو مزید بست کی تعمیر کی گئی ہے ایک بست شیخ بہائی (مسجد گوہر شاد اور صحن جمہوری اسلامی کے درمیان) اور بست طبرسی (اسلامی یونیورسٹی اور آستانۂ قدس کے کتاب خانہ کے درمیان)۔
