Goharshad Mosque
مسجد گوہر شاد
This mosque is one of the most reputed in Iran and is situated adjacent to the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza. It was built in 821 AH. under the orders of Goharshad Khatoon, Shahrokh Mirza's wife. Its area is 9410 Sq Meters and includes a courtyard, four porches and seven large prayer halls. Two beautiful minarets, each 40 meters high, are located on both sides of Maqsureh Porch. There is an inscription on the left on the margin of the porch written by Baisonqor, one of the best calligraphists of the time. The Sahebaz Zaman Pulpit is in Maqsureh porch. It was built in 1243 H with walnut wood and without using any iron or nail. This mosque has a public library with 34,650 volumes.
یہ ایران کی مشہور ترین مساجد میں سے ایک ہے اور روضہ امام رضاؑ سے متصل ہے، اسے ۸۲۱ ھ میں گوہر شاد خاتون جو شاہ رخ مرزا کی اہلیہ تھی کے حکم پر بنایا گیا، اس مسجد کا رقبہ ۹۴۱۰ مربع میٹر ہے جس میں ایک احاطہ، چار ایوان (Porches) اور سات بڑے نماز کے لئے ہال ہیں، دو بلند مینار ہیں ہر ایک کی اونچائی ۴۰ میٹر ہے، بائیں طرف ایران کے بہترین خطاط بیسنقور کی خطاطی ہے، منبر صاحب الزمان مقصورہ (Porch)میں ہے، اسے ۱۲۴۳ھ میں بنایا گیا تھا، یہ منبر اخروٹ کی لکڑی سے بنا ہے اور اس میں کسی لوہے یا کیل کا استعمال نہیں ہے۔ اس مسجد میں ایک کتب خانہ ہے جس میں۳۴۶۵۰ جلدکتابیں موجود ہیں۔
