1. Merits of the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a)

2. Be it known to you that the merits of visiting the holy tomb of Imam Husain (a) are too innumerable to be counted. According to many narrations, the reward of such pilgrimage is equal to the reward of ritual Hajj, Umrah, and striving in Allah’s way (ie. jihad). Moreover, such pilgrimage to Imam Husain’s tomb brings about forgiveness, alleviates the settling to account on the Resurrection Day, uplifts ranks, causes the prayers to be answered, prolongs the lifetime, brings about security of selves and properties, provides more sustenance, settles all needs, and relieves from agonies and grievances.

   واضح رہے کہ حضرت امام حسینؑ کی زیارت کی فضیلت بیان کرنے کی حد سے باہر ہے اور بہت سی احادیث میں آیا ہے کہ شہید نینوا کی زیارت حج، عمرہ اور جہاد کے برابر ہے بلکہ اس سے بھی کئی درجے افضل، مغفرت کا سبب، حساب و کتاب میں آسانی، درجات کی بلندی، قبولیت دعا، طول عمر، حفظ جان و مال، روزی میں فراوانی، حاجات کے پورا ہونے اور غم و اندیشے کے دور ہونے کا سبب ہے اسی طرح آپ کی زیارت کا ترک کرنا دین و ایمان میں نقص اور حضرت رسولؐ کے حقوق میں سے ایک انتہائی اہم حق کے چھوڑ دینے کا سبب ہے۔

3. On the other hand, to abandon visiting the holy tomb of Imam Husain (a) is regarded as deficiency in one’s duty towards one’s religion, because it is considered abandonment of one of the greatest duties towards the Holy Prophet (s). Therefore, the least reward of such pilgrims is that their sins are forgiven and their souls and properties are guarded by Almighty Allah until they return home. On the Resurrection Day, Almighty Allah shall guard them in a way better than He has done in the worldly life. According to other narrations, visiting Imam Husain’s tomb removes grievances, alleviates death agonies, and removes horrors in the graves. Besides, the expenditure that is spent for visiting Imam Husain’s tomb shall be multiplied one thousand, or even ten thousand, folds.

   وہ جو حضرت امام حسینؑ کے زائر کا کمترین ثواب ہے یہ ہے کہ اس کے گناہ معاف کر دیے جاتے ہیں۔ اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی جان و مال کی حفاظت اس وقت تک فرماتا ہے جب تک وہ اپنے اہلِ خانہ میں واپس نہیں آجاتا اور قیامت میں تو خدائے تعالیٰ دنیا کی نسبت اس کی زیادہ حفاظت فرمائے گا۔ بہت سی روایتوں میں مذکور ہے کہ آپ کی زیارت غموں کو دور کرتی ہے جان کنی کی سختی اورقبر کے خوف و خطر سے بچاتی ہے زیارت کرنے میں جو مال زائر خرچ کرتا ہے اس کے ہر درہم کے بدلے ایک ہزار بلکہ دس ہزار درہم لکھے جاتے ہیں۔

4. When a pilgrim turns his face towards Imam Husain’s tomb, he/she is received by four thousand angels and when he/she returns home, these angels will see him off. All the Prophets and their successors as well as the Infallible Imams and the angels visit the tomb of Imam Husain (a) and pray Almighty Allah for the good of those who visit it and carry for them good tidings (for the abundant reward of such pilgrimage). Almighty Allah looks at the pilgrims to Imam Husain’s tomb before He looks at the pilgrims at Arafat Mount. On the Resurrection Day, all the creatures shall hope if they were included with the visitors of Imam Husain’s tomb, because Imam Husain (a), on that day, shall be the source of inestimable favor and bliss. As a matter of fact, it is impossible to contain all the narrations about the merits of pilgrimages to Imam Husain’s tomb.

   جب زائر آپ کے روضۂ مبارک کی طرف روانہ ہوتا ہے تو چار ہزار فرشتے اس کے استقبال کو بڑھتے ہیں اور جب وہ واپس جاتا ہے تو اتنے ہی فرشتے اسے رخصت کرنے آتے ہیں۔ تمام پیغمبر، اوصیاء، ائمۂ طاہرینؑ اور ملائکہ امام حسینؑ کی زیارت کے لئے آتے ہیں اور آپ کے زائروں کے لئے دعائے خیر کرتے ہیں اور انہیں بشارت دیتے ہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ ان پر نظر رحمت کرنے میں انہیں عرفات والوں پر اوّلیّت دیتا (مقدّم کرتا) ہے قیامت کے دن ان کی عزّت اور کرامت وبزرگی کو دیکھ کر ہر شخص یہ تمنا کرے گا کہ اے کاش میں بھی زائرین حسینؑ میں سے ہوتا!۔ اس بارے میں بہت سی روایات وارد ہوئی ہیں جن کی طرف ہم آپ کی مخصوص زیارات کی فضیلت کے بیان میں اشارہ کریں گے۔

5. Ibn Qawlawayh, Shaykh Kulayni, Sayyid Ibn Tawus, and many others have reported, through authoritative chains of authority, that Mu’awiyah ibn Wahab Bujali Kufi, the reverent and trustworthy reporter, has reported the following incident: One day, I visited Imam Sadiq (a) and found him in his prayer-place. I thus sat down waiting for him to accomplish his prayer. When he did, I could hear him addressing his Lord with the following words…

   فی الحال ہم ایک روایت نقل کرتے ہیں وہ یہ ہے کہ ابن قولویہؒ شیخ کلینیؒ اور سید ابن طاؤسؒ وغیرہ نے ثقہ جلیل القدر معاویہ ابن وہب بجلی کوفی سے روایت کی ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا: ایک موقع پر میں امام جعفر صادقؑ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو آپ کو مصلے پر مشغول عبادت دیکھا، میں وہاں بیٹھا رہا یہاں تک کہ آپؑ نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو میں نے آپ کو اپنے پروردگار سے راز و نیاز فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ۔۔۔

6. “O He Who has endued us with special honor, promised of granting us the right of intercession, ordered us to convey His Message, made us the inheritors of the Prophets, sealed the past nations with us, given us exclusively the representation of Prophethood, given us the knowledge of the past and the coming ages, and made hearts of some people yearn towards us, (please) forgive me, my brothers, and the pilgrims to the tomb of my father Husain ibn Ali, peace be upon them, those pilgrims who spent their money and fatigued their bodies for purpose of fulfilling their covenant to us, hoping for the reward that You have in possession for them through observing their ties with us, bringing about happiness to Your Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household, responding to our instruction, and enraging our enemies.

   اے پروردگار! تو نے ہمیں اپنی طرف سے خاص بزرگیاں عطا فرمائیں اور ہمیں یہ وعدہ دیا کہ ہم شفاعت کریں گے۔ ہمیں علومِ نبوت دیے اور پیغمبروں کا وارث بنایا اور ہماری آمد پر سابقہ امت کا دور ختم کر دیا تو نے ہمیں پیغمبر اکرمؐ کا وصی بنایا اور گزشتہ و آئندہ کا علم بخشا اور لوگوں کے دل ہماری طرف مائل کر دیے۔اِغفِرلِی وَ لِإخوَانِی وَ زُوّارِ قَبرِ ابِی الحسین ابن علی صَلَواتُ اللہ عَلَیھِمَا مجھے میرے بھائیوں اور امام حسینؑ کے زائروں کو بخش دے، اور ان لوگوں کو بھی بخش دے جو اپنا مال خرچ کر کے اور اپنے شہروں کو چھوڑ کر حضرتؑ کی زیارت کو آئے ہیں وہ ہم سے نیکی طلب کرنے تجھ سے ثواب حاصل کرنے ہم سے متصل ہونے تیرے پیغمبرؐ کوخوش کرنے اور ہمارے حکم کی اطاعت کرنے آئے ہیں‘ جس کے سبب ہمارے دشمن ان کے دشمن ہو گئے۔

7. All that because they have intended for attaining Your pleasure. So, please award them on behalf of us with the reward of Your pleasure, guard them in days and nights, safeguard their family members and sons that they have left behind for the purpose of undertaking this pilgrimage (to Imam Husain’s tomb) in the best way of safeguarding, be always with them, save them from the evils of all insolent oppressors and from the evils of all your created beings, be them strong or weak, and from the evils of all Satanic men and jinn. And please give them the best of what they have hoped for in their estrangement and in their homelands, because they have preferred us to their sons, family members, and relatives.

   حالانکہ وہ اپنے اس عمل میں تیرے پیغمبرؐ کو راضی و خوش کرناچاہتے تھے۔ اے اللہ! تو ہی اس کے بدلے میں انہیں ہماری خوشنودی عطا فرما!دن اور رات میں ان کی حفاظت کر! ان کے خاندان اور اولاد کا نگہبان رہنا کہ جن کو وہ اپنے وطن میں چھوڑ آئے ہیں! ان کی مدد کر،ہر جابر و دشمن ناتواں و توانا اور جن وانس کے شرکو ان سے دور رکھ! ان کو اس سے کہیں زیادہ عطا فرما جس کی وہ تجھ سے امید رکھتے ہیں جب وہ اپنے وطن، اپنے خاندان اور اپنی اولاد کو ہماری خاطر چھوڑ کر آ رہے تھے تو ہمارے دشمن ان کو طنز و ملامت کر رہے تھے۔

8. O Allah, our enemies have been criticizing them for they are undertaking such pilgrimage; nevertheless, this has not stopped or disappointed them from undertaking this mission of coming to visit us despite the criticism of these enemies. So, please have mercy upon these faces that have been tanned by the heat of the sun, have mercy upon these cheeks that have been turned on the tomb of Abu Abdullah (ie. Imam Husain), have mercy upon these eyes that shed tears on account of feeling pity for us, have mercy upon these hearts that have mourned and grieved over our misfortunes, and have mercy upon their screams that they have cried out for us. O Allah, I beseech You to keep under Your custody these souls and these bodies (of the pilgrims of Imam Husain’s tomb) until You water them from the Divine Pond on the day of thirst.”

   خدایا! جب وہ ہماری طرف آ رہے تھے تو ان کی ملامت پر وہ ہماری طرف آنے سے رکے نہیں ہیں! خدایا! ان کے چہروں پر رحم فرما جن کو سفر میں سورج کی گرمی نے تبدیل کر دیا!ان رخساروں پر رحم فرما جو قبرِ حسینؑ پر ملے جا رہے تھے! ان آنکھوں پر رحم فرما جو ہمارے مصائب پر رو رہی ہیں! ان دلوں پر رحم فرما جو ہماری مصیبتوں پر رنج و غم ظاہر کر رہے ہیں اور ہمارے غم میں غمگین ہیں! اور ان آہوں اور چیخوں پر رحم فرما جو ہماری مصیبتوں پر بلند ہوتی ہیں! خدایا! میں ان کے جسموں اور جانوں کو تیرے حوالے کر رہا ہوں کہ تو انہیں حوضِ کوثر سے سیراب کرے جب لوگ پیاسے ہوں گے۔

9. Imam al-Sadiq (a) kept on praying Almighty Allah for the pilgrims of Imam Husain’s tomb, while prostrating himself after prayer, for a long time. When he finished, I (ie. the reporter) said to him, “May Allah accept me as ransom for you! Even if this prayer that you have just said were said for one who does not recognize Almighty Allah, he would certainly be saved from Hellfire! By Allah I swear, I wish I had visited Imam Husain’s tomb instead of undertaking the ritual Hajj!”

   آپ بار بار یہی دعا سجدے کی حالت میں کرتے رہے۔ جب آپ فارغ ہوئے تو میں نے عرض کیا : جو دعا آپ فرما رہے تھے اگر یہ اس شخص کے لئے بھی کی جائے جو اللہ تعالیٰ کو نہ جانتا ہو تو بھی میرا گمان ہے کہ جہنم کی آگ اسے نہ چھوئے گی۔ قسم بخدا! اس وقت میں نے آرزو کی کاش میں نے بھی امام حسینؑ کی زیارت کی ہوتی اور حج پرنہ آتاتو آپ نے فرمایا : تم حضرتؑ کے روضۂ اطہر کے نزدیک ہی رہتے ہو۔ پس تمہیں ان کی زیارت کرنے میں کیا رکاوٹ ہے۔

10. Imam Sadiq (a) asked, “You are close to the tomb. What then prevents you from visiting it? Mu’awiyah, never desert visiting the tomb.” The reporter answered, “May Allah accept me as ransom for you! I have not known that the matter is of such a high importance that it brings about such rewarding.”

    اے معاویہ ابن وھب! تم حضرتؑ کی زیارت ترک نہ کیا کرو۔ تو میں نے عرض کیا : میں آپ پر قربان ہو جاؤں!میں یہ نہ جانتا تھا کہ آپ حضرات کی زیارت کی فضیلت اس قدر ہے، آپؑ نے فرمایا : اے معاویہ! جو لوگ امام حسینؑ کے زائرین کے لئے زمین میں دعا کرتے ہیں ان سے کہیں زیادہ آسمان میں مخلوق ہے جوان کے لئے دعا کرتی ہے۔

11. The Imam (a) said, “Listen, Mu’awiyah! Those who pray Almighty Allah for the pilgrims to Imam Husain’s tomb in the heavens are more than those who pray Him for those pilgrims in the earth. Do not abandon visiting him for fear of anything. Verily, whoever shuns visiting Imam Husain’s tomb for fear of anything shall feel extreme regret that he shall wish if he were to stay there until he would be buried next to that tomb. Do you not wish that you would present yourself before Almighty Allah among those for whom the Messenger of Allah, Ali, Fatimah, and the Infallible Imams pray Him? Do you not wish that you would be among those with whom the angels shall shake hands? Do you not wish that you would be among those who shall come on the Resurrection Day while they are free from any sin? Do you not wish that you would be among those with whom the Holy Prophet of Allah (a) shall shake hands?”

    اے معاویہ! زیارت حسینؑ کو کسی خوف کی وجہ سے ترک نہ کیا کرو۔ کیوں کہ جو شخص کسی کے خوف کی وجہ سے آپ کی زیارت ترک کرے گا اسے اس قدر حسرت اور شرمندگی ہو گی کہ وہ تمنا کرے گا کہ کاش میں ہمیشہ آپ کے روضہ پر رہتا اور وہیں دفن ہوتا۔ کیا تجھے یہ بات پسند نہیں کہ حق تعالیٰ تجھ کو ان لوگوں کے درمیان دیکھے جن کے لئے حضرت رسولؐ مولا امیر المومنینؑ، سیدہ فاطمہ زہراؑ اور ائمۂ طاہرینؑ دعا کر رہے ہیں؟ کیا تم نہیں چاہتے کہ تم ان لوگوں میں سے ہو کہ جن سے روزِ قیامت فرشتے مصافحہ کریں؟ کیا تم نہیں چاہتے کہ تم ان لوگوں میں سے ہو جو قیامت میں آئیں تو ان کے ذمہ کوئی گناہ نہ ہو ؟ آیا تم نہیں چاہتے کہ تم ان لوگوں میں سے ہو کہ جن سے حضرت رسولؐ قیامت کے دن مصافحہ کریں گے۔

12. We should know that the significance of the Ziyarat of Imam (a) is beyond explanation. It has come in many traditions that it is equal to Hajj, Umrah and Jihad, rather many grades above them. It is a cause of divine forgiveness, ease in accounting, elevation of grades, acceptance of supplications, long life span, safety of life and property, increase in sustenance, fulfillment of needs and removal of sorrow. To omit it, causes loss in the religion and faith and it is leaving one of the greatest rights of the Holy Prophet (s).

    ہمیں سمجھنا چاہیے کہ امامؑ کی زیارت کی اہمیت بیان سے بہت بڑھ کر ہے۔ بہت سی روایات میں آیا ہے کہ اس کا ثواب حج، عمرہ اور جہاد کے برابر ہے بلکہ ان سے بھی کئی درجے زیادہ ہے۔ زیارت اللہ کی بخشش کا سبب بنتی ہے، حساب آسان ہوتا ہے، درجات بلند ہوتے ہیں، دعائیں قبول ہوتی ہیں، عمر میں برکت ہوتی ہے، جان و مال کی حفاظت ہوتی ہے، رزق میں اضافہ ہوتا ہے، ضرورتیں پوری ہوتی ہیں اور غم دور ہوتے ہیں۔ اور اگر کوئی اسے چھوڑ دے تو یہ دین اور ایمان میں نقصان کا باعث بنتا ہے، اور گویا رسولِ خداؐ کے ایک بہت بڑے حق کو چھوڑ دینا ہے۔

13. The least reward that a visitor of Imam Husain (a) gets is that his sins are forgiven and Allah protects his life and property till he comes back to his family. And on the day of Judgement Allah would protect him more than he was protected in the world. Many traditions say that the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a) removes sorrows, pain of death and the terror of the grave. Of the money spent on the Ziyarat, each Dirham is considered equal to a 1000 Dirhams, rather equal to 10000 Dirhams. And when the visitor turns towards the Shrine of Imam Husain (a), 4000 angels welcome him and when he returns they follow him.

    امام حسینؑ کی زیارت کرنے والے کو کم سے کم یہ اجر ملتا ہے کہ اس کے گناہ معاف کر دیے جاتے ہیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ اسے اس کے گھر والوں کے پاس واپس پہنچنے تک اس کی جان اور مال کی حفاظت فرماتا ہے۔ اور قیامت کے دن اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی ایسی حفاظت کرے گا جو دنیا کی حفاظت سے بھی بڑھ کر ہوگی۔ بہت سی روایات میں آیا ہے کہ امام حسینؑ کی زیارت غم دور کرتی ہے، موت کی تکلیف میں آسانی پیدا کرتی ہے اور قبر کی گھبراہٹ (خوف) سے نجات دیتی ہے۔ زیارت پر خرچ کیا گیا ہر درہم، ایک ہزار درہم کے برابر شمار ہوتا ہے بلکہ بعض روایات کے مطابق دس ہزار درہم کے برابر۔ اور جب زائر امام حسینؑ کے روضے کی طرف رخ کرتا ہے تو چار ہزار فرشتے اس کا استقبال کرتے ہیں، اور جب وہ واپس جاتا ہے تو وہ فرشتے اس کے ساتھ (اس کی حفاظت کے لیے) چلتے ہیں۔

14. Prophets, their legatees and the Holy Imams come for the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a) and they all pray for the visitors. They convey to them the good news. The almighty Allah is more merciful to the visitors of the tomb of Imam Husain (a) than He is to the people of Arafat. And people would wish on the day of Qiyamat that they had visited the grave of Imam Husain (a) because on this day they would see the great status and greatness of Imam (a).

    انبیاء، ان کے جانشین اور ائمۂ اطہارؑ امام حسینؑ کی زیارت کے لیے آتے ہیں، اور وہ سب زائرین کے لیے دعا کرتے ہیں اور انہیں خوشخبری سناتے ہیں۔ اللہ تعالیٰ امام حسینؑ کے مزار کے زائرین پر اتنا رحم فرماتا ہے کہ وہ اہلِ عرفات پر ہونے والی رحمت سے بھی زیادہ ہے۔ اور قیامت کے دن لوگ یہ تمنّا کریں گے کہ کاش انہوں نے امام حسینؑ کی قبر کی زیارت کی ہوتی، کیونکہ اس دن وہ امامؑ کا بلند مقام اور عظمت اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھیں گے۔

15. Ibne Quluwayh (r) and Sayyid Ibne Tawus (r) etc. have narrated through reliable chains from the great authority of Muawiyah bin Wahab Bajali Kufi that he said: One day I went to Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) and saw that he was busy with his prayers on his prayer mat. I sat down, when he completed his prayers he began to invocate Allah…

    ابنِ قولویہؒ اور سید ابنِ طاؤسؒ وغیرہ نے معتبر سندوں کے ساتھ معروف راوی معاویہ بن وہب بجلی کوفی سے نقل کیا ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا: ایک دن میں امام جعفر صادقؑ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا۔ میں نے دیکھا کہ آپ اپنی جائے نماز پر نماز میں مشغول تھے۔ میں بیٹھ گیا۔ جب آپ نے نماز مکمل کر لی تو آپ نے اللہ سے دعا (مناجات) شروع کی۔

16. O Allah! You have chosen us for greatness and wonder acts and promised intercession to us and bestowed us the sciences of prophethood and made us the successors of the prophets and ended the past nations with us and made us the sole inheritors of the prophet’s successorship and gave the knowledge of the past and the future and made the hearts of the people inclined towards us. Forgive me, my brothers and the visitors to the grave of my forefather Husain Ibne Ali (a).

    اے اللہ! تو نے ہمیں بزرگی اور عجیب و غریب (عظیم) نشانیوں کے لیے منتخب کیا، اور ہمیں شفاعت کا وعدہ دیا، اور ہمیں علمِ نبوت عطا فرمایا، اور ہمیں انبیاء کے جانشین بنایا۔ اور تو نے ہم ہی کے ذریعے پچھلی امتوں کا سلسلہ ختم کیا، اور ہمیں نبیؐ کی جانشینی کے واحد وارث قرار دیا۔ اور تو نے ہمیں پہلے والوں اور بعد والوں (ماضی و مستقبل) کا علم عطا کیا، اور لوگوں کے دلوں کو ہماری طرف مائل کر دیا۔ پس اے اللہ! مجھے، میرے بھائیوں کو، اور میرے جدِّ بزرگوار حسین ابنِ علیؑ کی قبر کے زائرین کو بخش دے۔

17. That those who spent their money and were inclined to goodness; and in the hope of Your rewards and to please Your Prophet and for accepting our Wilayat, and make our foes distraught and taking their bodies they have come out of their towns. Their aim is only Your pleasure. Then recompense them in exchange of our pleasure and protect them night and day. And be for their dependants, whom they have left behind in their homelands, a caretaker in their place. Be their best guard and companion, keep them safe from the mischief of every oppressor enemy and the Satans from among the jinns and men and every weak and strong creature. Due to their being far away from their hometowns and due to their preferring us instead of their families, bestow them more than what they hope for. O Allah! Our enemies have defamed them because of their coming out for our Ziyarat but this should not be a barrier to their determination to go on Ziyarat.

    جو لوگ اپنا مال خرچ کرتے ہیں اور نیکی کی طرف مائل ہوتے ہیں، تیرے ثواب کی امید میں، تیرے نبیؐ کی خوشنودی کے لیے، اور ہماری ولایت کو قبول کرتے ہوئے اور ہمارے دشمنوں کو پریشان و بے قرار کرنے کے لیے وہ اپنے شہروں سے نکل کر آئے ہیں۔ اُن کا مقصد صرف تیری خوشنودی ہے۔ پس تو انہیں ہماری خوشنودی کے بدلے بہترین بدلہ عطا فرما، اور رات دن اُن کی حفاظت فرما۔ اور اُن کے گھر والوں کے لیے، جنہیں وہ اپنے وطن میں چھوڑ آئے ہیں، تو اُن کی طرف سے نگہبان بن جا۔ تو ان کا سب سے بہترین محافظ اور ساتھی بن، اور انہیں ہر ظالم دشمن کے شر سے، اور جنّ و انسان میں سے شیطانوں کے شر سے، اور ہر کمزور اور طاقتور مخلوق کے شر سے محفوظ رکھ۔ اور چونکہ وہ اپنے وطن سے دور ہیں، اور انہوں نے اپنے گھر والوں پر ہمیں ترجیح دی ہے، اس کے بدلے انہیں اُن کی امید سے بڑھ کر عطا فرما۔ اے اللہ! ہمارے دشمنوں نے ہماری زیارت کے لیے نکلنے کی وجہ سے انہیں بدنام کیا ہے، مگر یہ بات اُن کے زیارت پر جانے کے ارادے میں رکاوٹ نہ بنے۔

18. Thus have mercy on those faces that are changed by the sun, and have mercy on those cheeks who go to touch Imam Husain (a). And have mercy on those eyes that weep in our sorrow and have mercy on those hearts that are sad due to our afflictions and have mercy on those entreaties that rise up in our tribulations. O Allah! I entrust these lives and bodies to You so that on the day of the thirst You may allow them to drink from the pool.

    پس اُن چہروں پر رحم فرما جو دھوپ کی وجہ سے جھلس (بدل) گئے ہیں۔ اور اُن رخساروں پر رحم فرما جو امام حسینؑ کے روضے کو چھونے کے لیے آگے بڑھتے ہیں۔ اور اُن آنکھوں پر رحم فرما جو ہمارے غم میں روتی ہیں۔ اور اُن دلوں پر رحم فرما جو ہماری مصیبتوں کی وجہ سے غمگین ہیں۔ اور اُن فریادوں (دعاؤں) پر رحم فرما جو ہماری آزمائشوں میں بلند ہوتی ہیں۔ اے اللہ! میں ان کی جانوں اور بدنوں کو تیرے سپرد کرتا ہوں، تاکہ پیاس کے دن (قیامت کے دن) تو انہیں حوضِ کوثر سے سیراب فرمائے۔

19. The Imam (a) continued to invocate in the same manner in Sajdah. When he finished I asked: If you had prayed for such a person who does not recognize Allah I would have thought that the fire of Hell would not touch him, By Allah, I express the wish that I should have performed the Ziyarat instead of the Hajj.

    امامؑ اسی طرح سجدے کی حالت میں دعا کرتے رہے۔ جب آپؑ فارغ ہوئے تو میں نے عرض کیا: اگر آپؑ نے ایسے شخص کے لیے بھی اس طرح دعا کی ہوتی جو اللہ کو نہیں پہچانتا، تو میں سمجھتا کہ جہنم کی آگ اسے بھی نہ چھوئے گی۔ اللہ کی قسم! میں یہ خواہش کرتا ہوں کہ کاش میں نے حج کے بجائے زیارت انجام دی ہوتی۔

20. Imam (a) said: Being near to Imam Husain (a), what stops you from his Ziyarat? O Muawiyah! Do not leave Ziyarat. I said: May I be sacrificed on you, I did not know that the Ziyarat was so meritorious. He (a) said: O Muawiyah, those who pray for the visitors on the earth, much more than these are those who pray for them in the heavens. O Muawiyah, do not leave the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a) due to some fear because one who leaves the Ziyarat due to someone’s fear would be so regretful that he would wish that he had remained only near the grave of Imam Husain (a) and be buried there.

    امامؑ نے فرمایا: تم امام حسینؑ کے قریب ہو، پھر تمہیں اُن کی زیارت سے کون سی چیز روکتی ہے؟ اے معاویہ! زیارت کو نہ چھوڑو۔ میں نے عرض کیا: آپ پر قربان جاؤں، مجھے معلوم نہیں تھا کہ زیارت کا ثواب اتنا زیادہ ہے۔ آپؑ نے فرمایا: اے معاویہ! زمین پر زائرین کے لیے دعا کرنے والے جتنے ہیں، آسمانوں میں اُن سے کہیں زیادہ ہیں جو اُن کے لیے دعا کرتے ہیں۔ اے معاویہ! کسی خوف کی وجہ سے امام حسینؑ کی زیارت کو نہ چھوڑنا، کیونکہ جو شخص کسی کے خوف سے زیارت چھوڑ دیتا ہے وہ اتنا پچھتائے گا کہ وہ تمنا کرے گا کاش وہ امام حسینؑ کی قبر کے پاس ہی رہتا اور وہیں دفن ہو جاتا۔

21. Do you not wish to be seen among those for whom the Messenger of Allah, Ali, Fatema and the Imams pray? Do you not wish to be included among those, with whom the Angels would shake hands? Do you not like to be included among those who would arrive on the day of Qiyamat cleaned of all sins? Do you not like to be included among those who would shake hands with the Holy Prophet (s) on the day of Qiyamat?

    کیا تم یہ پسند نہیں کرتے کہ تم اُن لوگوں میں شمار ہو جاؤ جن کے لیے اللہ، رسولؐ، علیؑ، فاطمہؑ اور ائمہؑ دعا کرتے ہیں؟ کیا تم یہ نہیں چاہتے کہ تم اُن لوگوں میں شامل ہو جاؤ جن سے فرشتے مصافحہ کریں؟ کیا تم یہ پسند نہیں کرتے کہ تم اُن لوگوں میں ہو جاؤ جو قیامت کے دن تمام گناہوں سے پاک ہو کر آئیں گے؟ کیا تم یہ پسند نہیں کرتے کہ تم اُن لوگوں میں شامل ہو جاؤ جو قیامت کے دن رسولِ خداؐ سے مصافحہ کریں گے؟
