Merits

فضیلت

1. The merits and great rewards that are gained due to visiting the holy tomb of Imam Reza (a) are too many to be counted. However, we seek blessings from mentioning several traditions, most of which are quoted from the book of Tuhfat al-Za’ir.

   امام علی رضاؑ کے فضائل میں حدیثیں۔۔۔

2. The Holy Prophet (s) is reported to have said, “A piece of my flesh will be buried in Khurasan. Any faithful believer visits him will win Paradise as reward recorded obligatorily by Almighty Allah and will have Hellfire prohibited by Him from consuming his body.” According to another validly reported tradition, the Holy Prophet (s) has said, “A piece of my flesh will be buried in Khurasan. Any agonized person visits him, will have his agonies relieved by Almighty Allah and any sinful person visits him, will have his sins forgiven by Almighty Allah.”

   حضرت رسولؐ سے منقول ہے کہ فرمایا: تھوڑی مدت کے بعد میرے جسم کا ایک ٹکڑا سر زمین خراسان میں دفن کیا جائے گا تو جو مومن ان کی زیارت کرنے جائے گا خدائے تعالیٰ اس کے لئے جنّت واجب کر دے گا اس کے بدن کے لئے آتشِ جہنم کو حرام کر دے گا۔ ایک اور معتبرحدیث میں کہا گیا ہے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: میرا ایک جگر گوشہ خراسان میں دفن کیا جائے گا اب جو شخص غم زدہ حالت میں اس کی زیارت کرے گا‘ خدا تعالیٰ اس کے رنج و غم دور کر دے گا اور جو گناہ گار اس کی زیارت کرنے جائے گا حق تعالیٰ اس کے گناہ معاف کر دے گا۔

3. According to a valid chain of authority, Imam Musa ibn Ja’far (al-Kazim), peace and Allah’s blessings be upon him, is reported to have said, “Whoever visits the tomb of my son ‘Ali, shall be awarded by Almighty Allah the reward of seventy times of performing admissible hajj.” The reporter said in astonishment, “Do you really mean the reward of 70 times of performing admissible Hajj?” The Imam (a) said, “Yes, even 70000 times of performing Hajj.” The Imam (a) added, “Some performances of hajj may be inadmissible; therefore, whoever visits him or spends a night next to him, will be regarded as having visited Almighty Allah in His Throne.” The reporter said in astonishment, “Is it really regarded as visiting Almighty Allah in His Throne!” The Imam answered, “Yes, it is. When the Resurrection Day comes, four persons from the past generations and four others from the last generations shall surround the Throne of Almighty Allah. Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus are the four persons from the past generations. Muhammad, Ali, Hasan, and Husain are the four persons from the last generations. Then, a rope will be extended and the visitors of the tombs of the Imams will be allowed to sit with us. The highest of rank and the most welcomed of them will be the visitors of the tomb of my son Ali.”

   دوسری حدیث میں امام موسیٰ کاظمؑ سے روایت ہوئی ہے کہ فرمایا: جو شخص میرے بیٹے علی رضاؑ کی زیارت کرے گا حق تعالیٰ اس کو ستّر حج مقبول کا ثواب عطا کرے گا تو راوی نے اس ثواب کو کچھ زیادہ تصور کیا اور کہا : کیا ان کے زائر کے لئے ستّر حج مقبول کا ثواب ہے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں ستّر ہزار حج! اس نے کہا: ستّر ہزار قبول شدہ حج؟! آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں ستّر ہزار حج جب کہ بہت سے لوگوں کے حج تو قبول بھی نہیں ہوتے۔ نیز جو شخص حضرتؑ کی زیارت کرے یا ایک رات ان کے قریب بسر کرے تو وہ ایسا ہے گویا اس نے عرش معلی پر انوار الہٰی کا مشاہدہ کیا، اس نے کہا: اس کا مطلب یہ ہوا کہ اس نے عرش پر نورِ خدا کی زیارت کی ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا :ہاں ایسا ہی ہے اور جب قیامت ہو گی تو چار انسان پہلے زمانے کے اور چار انسان موجودہ زمانے کے عرش معلیٰ پر موجود ہوں گے،سابقہ زمانے کے چار انسان حضرت نوحؑ، حضرت ابراہیمؑ، حضرت موسیٰؑ اور حضرت عیسیٰؑ ہوں گے اور موجودہ زمانے کے چار انسان حضرت محمد مصطفیٰؐ،حضرت علی مرتضیٰؑ،حضرت امام حسنؑ اور امام حسینؑ ہوں گے،عرش عظیم پر ہمارے ساتھ وہ لوگ بیٹھیں گے جنہوں نے ائمۂ طاہرینؑ کی قبروں کی زیارت کی ہو گی لیکن ان سب میں سے میرے فرزند علی رضاؑ کے زائروں کا رتبہ بلند ہو گا اور انہیں اجر و انعام بھی سب سے زیادہ عطا کیا جائے گا۔

4. Imam Reza (a) is reported to have said, “In Khurasan, there is an area, which will soon be frequently visited by the angels; a group is descending and another is ascending until the Trumpet will be blown (to declare the coming of the Resurrection Day).” “Son of Allah’s Messenger,” the Imam (a) was asked, “What is this area?” He answered, “It is in the land of Tus. By Allah (I swear), it is one of the gardens of Paradise. Whoever visits me therein, will be as if he has visited the Messenger of Allah (s). For that visit too, Almighty Allah will record the reward of one thousand times of going on admissible hajj and one thousand times of going on admissible ‘umrah; and my fathers and I will be his intercessors on the Resurrection Day.”

   امام علی رضاؑ سے روایت ہے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: خراسان میں ایک قبہ ہے کہ جس پر ایک زمانے میں فرشتوں کی آمدورفت ہو گی اور صور اسرافیل کے پھونکے جانے تک ہمیشہ ملائکہ کی ایک فوج زمین پر اترتی اور ایک فوج آسمان پر چڑھتی رہے گی، آپ سے پوچھا گیا : اے فرزندِ رسولؐ!وہ کون سا قبہ ہو گا؟ فرمایا : وہ قبہ زمینِ طوس میں ہو گا اور خدا کی قسم! وہ جنّت کے باغات میں سے ایک باغ ہو گا لہٰذا جو شخص وہاں میری زیارت کرے گا تو وہ ایسا ہو گا گویا اس نے حضرت رسولؐ کی زیارت کی ہو، خدائے تعالیٰ اس زیارت کے بدلے میں اس کے لئے ایک ہزار حج اور ایک ہزار قبول شدہ عمرہ کا ثواب لکھے گا نیز میں اور میرے آباء طاہرینؑ قیامت میں اس کی شفاعت کریں گے۔

5. According to authentic chain of authority, Ibn Abi-Nasr has reported that he himself read the following letter of Imam Reza (a): “Pass on the following information to my Shi’ah (ie. adherents): Almighty Allah regards one visitation to me as equal in reward to one thousand times of hajj.” When I reported this tradition to Imam Muhammad Taqi (a), he commented, “Yes, it is. I swear it by Allah. It is even equal in reward to one million times of hajj for those who visit him, recognizing his actual standing.”

   چند معتبر اسناد کے ساتھ ابن ابی نصر سے منقول ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا: میں نے وہ خط پڑھا جو امام علی رضاؑ نے اپنے شیعوں کے لئے لکھا تھا، اس میں تحریر تھا یہ بات میرے شیعوں کو بتا دو کہ میری زیارت حق تعالیٰ کی نظر میں ایک ہزار حج کے مساوی ہے۔میں نے یہ حدیث امام محمد تقیؑ کی خدمت میں پیش کی تو فرمایا: قسم بخدا! جو شخص حضرتؑ کو امام برحق مانتا ہو وہ آپ کی زیارت کرے تو اس کا یہ عمل دس لاکھ حج کے برابر ہے۔

6. Through two valid chains of authority, Imam Reza, Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, is reported to have said, “If one visits me despite farness of my place, I will come to him on three occasions of the Resurrection Day so as to save him from the horrors of these occasions: (1) When the records of deeds are thrown right and left, (2) When the Discriminating Bridge (Sirat) is crossed, and (3) when the scale of deeds is set up.”

   دو معتبر سندوں سے نقل ہوا ہے کہ امام علی رضاؑ نے فرمایا:جو شخص بہت دور ہونے کے باوجود میری قبر کی زیارت کرے گا تو میں قیامت میں تین وقتوں میں اس کے پاس آؤں گا تاکہ اسے قیامت کی سختیوں سے نجات دلاؤں۔ پہلا وقت وہ ہے جب نیکوکاروں کے اعمال نامے ان کے دائیں ہاتھ میں اور بدکاروں کے اعمال نامے ان کے بائیں ہاتھ میں دیے جائیں گے، دوسرا وقت وہ ہے جب لوگ پل صراط سے گزر رہے ہوں گے اور تیسرا وقت وہ ہے جب اعمال کا وزن کیا جائے گا۔

7. According to another validly reported tradition, Imam Reza (a) is reported to have said, “I will be killed wrongfully by poison and I will be entombed beside Harun the ‘Abbasid ruler. Almighty Allah shall then make the soil of my tomb frequently visited by my adherents (i.e. Shi’ah). Hence, whoever visits me in my strange land, it will be incumbent on me to pay him a visit on the Resurrection Day. I swear by Him Who honored Muhammad with prophethood and chose him over all the creatures, any one of you who offers a two-unit prayer near my tomb shall be worthy of receiving forgiveness of Almighty Allah on the day when he will meet Him. I swear by Him Who honored us after Muhammad with Imamate and gave us succession (of Prophethood) in particular, the visitors of my tomb shall be the most honored delegations of Almighty Allah on the Resurrection Day. Any faithful believer whose face is touched by a drop of the sky (on his way to visit us), Almighty Allah shall forbid Hellfire to consume his body.”

   ایک معتبر حدیث میں ہے کہ آپؑ نے فرمایا:تھوڑے عرصے کے بعد میں زہر کے ساتھ ظلم سے شہید کر دیا جاؤں گا اور مجھ کو ہارون الرشید کے پہلومیں دفن کیا جائے گا لہٰذا خدائے تعالیٰ میری قبر کو میرے شیعوں اور محبوں کا مرکز بنا دے گا لہٰذا جو شخص اس غربت و مسافرت کی جگہ میں میری زیارت کرے گا تو میرے لئے واجب ہوجائے گا کہ میں روزِ قیامت اس شخص کی زیارت کروں، قسم ہے مجھے اس ذات کی جس نے حضرت محمد مصطفیؐ کو نبی و رسولؐ بنایا اور انہیں تمام کائنات میں سے چنا کہ تم شیعوں میں سے جو بھی میری قبر کے قریب آکر دو رکعت نماز پڑھے تو وہ اس بات کا حق دار ہو گا خدا روزِ قیامت اس کے گناہ معاف کر ے قسم اس ذات کی جس نے ہم کو بعد از رسولؐ امامت کے لئے چنا ہے اور ہمیں آنحضرتؐ کا وصی قرار دیا ہے!میں قسم کھاکر کہتا ہوں : میری زیارت کرنے والے افراد خداوند عالم کے نزدیک ہر گروہ سے زیادہ عزیز و پسندیدہ ہوں گے۔ اور جو بھی مومن میری زیارت کرے اور راستے میں اس کے بدن پر بارش کا ایک ہی قطرہ گرے تو خدائے تعالیٰ اس کے بدن کو جہنم کی آگ پر حرام ٹھہرائے گا۔

8. Through a valid chain of authority, Muhammad ibn Sulayman has reported that he asked Imam Muhammad Taqi (a) about a man who went to perform his obligatory hajj and then went to perform ‘umrah, and Almighty Allah granted him success to perform both hajj and ‘umrah together. Then he went to al-Madinah and greeted the Holy Prophet. He then went to visit your forefather the Commander of the Faithful, recognizing that he is rightfully the Argument of Allah against His creatures and His door from which the Almighty must be approached. So, he greeted him. Then he went to visit Imam Husain and greeted him. Then he went to Baghdad and greeted Imam Musa al-Kazim. Then he went back to his hometown. If once again Almighty Allah grants him opportunity to go on hajj; to whom will it be better for him to go under these conditions? Should he who has already performed hajj go on pilgrimage to the Holy Ka’bah, or should he turn towards Khurasan to greet and visit the shrine of your father ‘Ali ibn Musa Reza?” The Imam (a) replied, “It is better for him to go towards Khurasan to greet my father. This visit will be even much better if it is done in the month of Rajab. However, it is not appropriate to do this now, because the ruling authorities have had bad idea about us.”

   معتبر سند کے ساتھ نقل ہوا ہے کہ محمد ابن سلیمان نے امام محمد تقیؑ سے پوچھا : ایک شخص نے حج ادا کیاجو اس پر واجب تھا اس کے بعد وہ مدینہ گیا اور حضرت رسول اللہؐ کی زیارت کا شرف حاصل کیا پھر نجف اشرف گیا اور امیر المومنینؑ کی زیارت کی جب کہ وہ آپ کو حجتِ خدا و امام برحق اور خداوند عالم کا بنایا ہوا خلیفۂ رسولؐ سمجھتا تھا، پھر کربلائے معلیٰ گیا وہاں امام حسینؑ کی زیارت سے مشرف ہوا، بغداد پہنچ کر امام موسیٰ کاظمؑ کی زیارت بھی کی اور پھر اپنے گھر لوٹ آیا۔اب خدائے تعالیٰ نے اسے بہت مال عطا کیاہے، وہ حج کو جا سکتا ہے، کیا اس شخص کے لئے بہتر ہے کہ وہ حج ادا کرے حالانکہ وہ واجب حج کا فریضہ ادا کر چکا ہے یا اس کو آپ کے والد گرامی کی زیارت کے لئے خراسان جانا چاہیے؟۔آپؑ نے فرمایا : اسے میرے پدر بزرگوار کے سلام کے لئے خراسان جانا چاہیے کہ یہ عمل افضل ہے لیکن وہ ان ایام میں وہاں نہ جائے کہ میرے اور تمہارے لئے خلیفۂ وقت سے ملامت کا خوف ہے لہٰذا وہ وہاں رجب کے مہینے میں جائے۔

9. Shaykh Saduq, in his book of Man-la-Yahzuruhul Faqih, has reported Imam Muhammad Taqi (a) as saying, “Between the two mountains of Tus, there is an area brought from Paradise. Hence, whoever enters that area will be secured against Hellfire on the Resurrection Day.”

   شیخ صدوقؒ نے من لا یحضرہ الفقیہ میں امام محمد تقیؑ سے روایت کی ہے : طوس کے دو پہاڑوں کے درمیان زمین کا ایک ٹکڑا ہے جو بہشت سے لایا گیا ہے تو جو بھی زمین کے اس خطے میں داخل ہو وہ قیامت میں دوزخ کی آگ سے آزاد ہو گا۔

10. Imam Muhammad Taqi (a) is also reported to have said, “I will guarantee Paradise on behalf of Almighty Allah for those who visit my father in Tus.”

    امام محمد تقیؑ ہی سے روایت ہے کہ فرمایا :میں خدائے تعالیٰ کی طرف سے اس شخص کے لئے جنّت کا ضامن ہوں جو طوس جا کر میرے والد گرامی کی زیارت کرے اور آپ کو امام برحق بھی تسلیم کرتا ہو۔

11. Shaykh Saduq, in his book of Uyun Akhbar Reza, has reported the following: A righteous man saw the Holy Prophet (s) in his dream, “O Allah’s Messenger,” the man asked, “Which of your offspring should I go to visit?” The Holy Prophet (s) answered, “Some of them have come to me poisoned. Others have come slain.” “Then,” the man asked, “Given the great distances between their shrines, which one of them do you recommend me to go and visit?” The Holy Prophet (s) said, “You may visit the one closest to you, who is buried in the land of loneliness.” “O Allah’s Messenger,” the man asked, “Do you mean Reza?” The Holy Prophet (s) instructed, “You should have added (after mentioning his name): Allah’s blessings be upon him! Allah’s blessings be upon him! Allah’s blessings be upon him! (three times)”

    شیخ صدوقؒ نے عیون الاخبار میں روایت کی ہے : ایک نیک و صالح شخص نے خواب میں حضرت رسولؐ اللہ کو دیکھا تو عرض کیا: یارسولؐ اللہ! میں آپ کے فرزندوں میں سے کس کی زیارت کروں؟۔آپؑ نے فرمایا : میرے کچھ فرزند زہر سے شہادت پا کر اور بعض تلوار سے شہادت پا کر میرے پاس آئے ہیں‘ میں نے عرض کی : یہ مختلف مقامات پر دفن ہیں تو ان میں سے کس کی زیارت کروں؟۔آنحضرتؐ نے فرمایا: ان میں سے اس کی زیارت کرو جو تمہارے گھر سے زیادہ دور نہیں اور عالَمِ مسافرت میں دفن شدہ ہے‘ میں نے عرض کیا :یارسولؐ اللہ! آپ کی مراد امام علی رضاؑ ہیں؟ تو فرمایا : صرف امام علی رضاؑ نہ کہو ان کے نام کے ساتھ صلی اللہ علیہ کہو صلی اللہ علیہ کہو صلی اللہ علیہ کہو یعنی آپ نے یہ جملہ تین بار دہرایا۔

12. In the books of Wasaail us-Shiah and al-Mustadrak Ala Wasaail us-Shiah, chapters have been dedicated to the recommendation of seeking blessings from the shrine of Imam Reza (a) as well as the shrines of the other Holy Imams (a), the recommendation of preceding pilgrimage to Imam Reza (a) to pilgrimage to Imam Husain (a) as well as all the other Holy Imams (a) and preceding it even to the supererogatory Hajj and Umrah.

    مؤلف کہتے ہیں: وسائل اور مستدرک میں ایک باب ہے جس کا نام ہے استحباب تبرک بمشھد امام رضاؑ و مشاہد ائمہ طاہرینؑ۔ اس میں کہا گیا ہے: مستحب ہے کہ امام علی رضاؑ کی زیارت کو امام حسینؑ اور دیگر ائمہ طاہرینؑ کی زیارت نیزمستحب حج و عمرۂ مستحب پر ترجیح دے اور اسے پہلے انجام دے اس بارے میں منقول احادیث کو ہم نے طولانی ہونے کے خوف سے یہاں ذکر نہیں کیا اور صرف مذکورہ بالا دس احادیث پر ہی اکتفا کیا ہے۔
