Merits of Fridayجمعہ کے فضائل
Friday days and nights excel the other days and nights in standing, honor, and regard. In this connection, the Holy Prophet (s) is reported to have said, “Surely, in each hour of the twenty-four hours of the Friday day and night, Almighty Allah releases from Hellfire six hundred thousand (6,00,000) persons.”
واضح رہے کہ جمعہ کو تمام ایام پر ایک خاص امتیاز اور شرف حاصل ہے۔ چنانچہ حضرت رسول اللہؐ کا فرمان ہے کہ شبِ جمعہ وجمعہ کی چوبیس ساعتیں ہیں اور ہر ایک ساعت میں خداوند عالم چھ لاکھ انسانوں کو جہنم سے آزاد کرتا ہے۔
Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a) is reported to have said, “One who dies in the period between midday on Thursdays and midday on Fridays will be released, by Almighty Allah, from pressure in graves.”
امام جعفر صادقؑ کا ارشاد ہے : زوالِ جمعرات سے زوالِ جمعہ کے درمیان جس شخص کی موت واقع ہو وہ فشارِ قبر سے محفوظ رہے گا۔
Imam Sadiq (a) is also reported as saying, “Verily, Fridays enjoy rights (incumbent upon people). Therefore, beware of violating Fridays’ sanctity through showing shortcoming in acts of worship; rather, seek nearness to Almighty Allah by means of righteous deeds and abandonment of all forbidden acts. Certainly, on Fridays, Almighty Allah doubles up the rewards (of good deeds), erases forgivingly punishments (for evildoings), and raises the ranks (of faith). Friday daytimes are the same as Friday nights; therefore, you may, when possible, stay up supplicating and offering prayers to Almighty Allah Who, at that night, orders the angels to descend to the lower sky in order to double up the rewards and erase the evildoings. Most surely, Allah is Ample-giving and All-generous.”
حضرتؑ ہی کا فرمان ہے کہ جمعہ کا خاص احترام اور حق ہے۔اس حق کو ضائع نہ کرو، اس دن کی عبادت میں کوتاہی نہ کرو۔ اچھے اعمال سے خدا کی قربت حاصل کرو اور تمام محرمات کو ترک کرو کیوں کہ خدا تعالیٰ اس روز اطاعت کا ثواب بڑھا دیتاہے۔ گناہوں کی سزاختم کردیتاہے اور دنیاوآخرت میں مومنین کے درجات بلند کرتا ہے اور روزِ جمعہ کی طرح شبِ جمعہ کی بھی بہت فضیلت ہے اور ممکن ہو تو شبِ جمعہ صبح تک دعاونماز میں گزارو۔ شبِ جمعہ میں خدا مومنین کی عزّت بڑھانے کے لئے ملائکہ کو پہلے آسمان پر بھیجتا ہے تاکہ وہ ان کی نیکیوں میں اضافہ کریں اور ان کے گناہ مٹاڈالیں۔ اس کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ حق تعالیٰ رحیم وکریم ہے اور اس کی عنایتیں اور عطائیں وسیع ہیں۔
Imam Sadiq (a) is also reported, in a validly reported tradition, to have said, “When a believing individual prays to Him for granting him his request, Almighty Allah may postpone the answer of that request to Friday in order that the individual will be given all the more due to the exclusive merit of Fridays.” Imam Sadiq (a) is also reported as narrating that when Prophet Joseph’s brothers asked their father, Prophet Jacob, to ask Almighty Allah’s forgiveness of their faults, he promised to do that. Yet, he postponed that appeal to Friday early dawn so as to guarantee response.
معتبر حدیث میں رسول اﷲؐسے مروی ہے: کبھی ایسا بھی ہوتا ہے کہ ایک مومن اپنی حاجت کے لئے دعا کرتا ہے مگر خدا اس کی وہ حاجت پوری کرنے میں تاخیر کرتا ہے تاکہ روزِ جمعہ اس کی حاجت کو پورا کرے اور جمعہ کی فضیلت کی وجہ سے کئی گنا عطا کرتا ہے۔ نیز فرمایا :جب برادرانِ یوسفؑ نے حضرت یعقوبؑ سے کہا کہ وہ ان کے گناہوں کی معافی کے لیےدعا کریں تو انہوں نے فرمایا: ( سَوْفَ اَسْتَغْفِرُلَکُمْ رَبّی)عنقریب میں تمہارے گناہوں کی بخشش کے لئے اپنے پروردگار سے دعا کروں گا[سورۂ یوسف،آیت۹۸] یہ تاخیر اس لئے کی گئی کہ جمعہ کی سحر کو دعا کی جائے تا کہ وہ قبولیت تک پہنچے۔
Again, Imam Sadiq (a) is reported as saying that on Friday nights, fishes in oceans and beasts in wildernesses raise their heads and pray Almighty Allah saying in a loud sound, “O Our Lord; torture us not for the sins of the human beings.”
حضرتؑ سے یہ بھی مروی ہے : شبِ جمعہ میں مچھلیاں سرپانی سے باہر نکالتی ہیں اور صحرائی جانور اپنی گردنیں بلند کرکے بارگاہِ الہٰی میں عرض کرتے ہیں : اے پروردگارا!انسانوں کے گناہوں کے باعث ہم پر عذاب نہ کرنا۔
Imam Muhammad Baqir (a) is reported to have said that on Friday nights, Almighty Allah gives orders to an angel on behalf of Him to call out, from above the Divine Throne, throughout the night, “Is there not any believing servant who will, right now, supplicate Me, before dawn comes upon him, for his world and Next World needs so that I will respond to him? Is there not any believing servant who, right now, repents to Me, before dawn comes upon him, and gives up his sins so that I will accept his repentance? Is there not any believing servant whose sustenance has been made reduced who will, right now, pray Me for increase, before dawn comes upon him, so that I will increase and develop his sustenance? Is there not any believing servant, being ailed, who will, right now, pray Me for healing, before dawn comes upon him, so that I will heal him? Is there not any believing servant, being grieved and detained, who will, right now, pray Me for relief and release, before dawn comes upon him, so that I will relieve and release him? Is there not any believing servant, being oppressed, who will, right now, pray Me for giving him victory and releasing him from oppression, before dawn comes upon him, so that I will back him and release him from oppression?” This angel will keep saying so until dawn.
امام محمدباقرؑ فرماتے ہیں : ہر شبِ جمعہ ایک فرشتہ ابتداءِشب سے آخرِ شب تک عرش کے اوپر یہ ندا کرتا ہے کہ کوئی مومن بندہ ہے جو طلوعِ فجر سے پہلے دنیاوآخرت کی کوئی حاجت طلب کرے تا کہ میں اس کی حاجت پوری کروں ؟ ہے کوئی مومن بندہ جوطلوعِ فجر سے پہلے گناہوں سے معافی کا طالب ہو اور میں اس کے گناہ معاف کردوں؟ کوئی بندۂ مومن ہے کہ جس کی روزی میں نے تنگ کر رکھی ہو وہ طلوعِ صبح سے قبل مجھ سے وسعتِ رزق طلب کرے تو میں اس کی روزی میں وسعت عطا کروں؟ آیا کوئی بیمار مومن ہے جو مجھ سے طلوعِ صبح سے پہلے شفا کا طالب ہو تو میں اسے شفادے دوں؟ کوئی قیدی وغم زدہ مومن ہے جو صبحِ جمعہ سے پہلے مجھ سے سوال کرے تو میں اس کو قید سے رہائی دے کراس کا غم دور کروں؟ آیا کوئی مظلوم مومن ہے جو طلوعِ صبح سے پہلے ظالم کے ظلم کو دور کرنے کا مجھ سے سوال کرے تو میں اس کے لئے ہر ظلم کرنے والے سے انتقام لوں اور اس کا حق اسے دلادوں ؟لہٰذا وہ فرشتہ جمعہ کی صبح طلوع ہونے تک اسی طرح آواز دیتا رہتا ہے۔
Likewise, Imam Ali (a) is reported to have said, “As He has chosen Friday, Almighty Allah has decided their daytimes and nights to be feasts. One of its merits, whoever beseeches Him on Fridays will be granted his request. Chastisement that is decided for a people because of an evildoing will be canceled by Him if the people supplicate Him on Friday. All graces that Almighty Allah decides are put into practice on Friday nights. Hence, Friday nights are more favorable than other nights and so are their days.”
امیرالمومنینؑ سے منقول ہے: حق تعالیٰ نے جمعہ کو تمام دنوں پر فضیلت دی ہے اور اس کو روزِ عید قرار دیا ہے،اس طرح شبِ جمعہ کو بھی باعظمت قرار دیا ہے۔ جمعہ کی ایک فضیلت یہ ہے کہ اس روز خدا سے جو سوال کیا جائے وہ پورا کر دیا جاتا ہے اگر کوئی گروہ مستحقِ عذاب ہے لیکن وہ شبِ جمعہ یا روزِ جمعہ دعا کرے تو اسے عذاب سے چھٹکارا مل جاتاہے۔حق تعالیٰ روزِ جمعہ مقدّر کو محکم ا ور ناقابلِ تبدیل بنا دیتا ہے۔لہٰذا شبِ جمعہ عام راتوں سے اور روزِ جمعہ عام دنوں سے افضل ہے۔
Imam Sadiq (a) is reported as saying, “Avoid committing any act of disobedience (to Almighty Allah) on Friday nights, for the punishments (of evildoing) are doubled up, and rewards (for good deeds) are also doubled up. Whoever avoids committing an act of disobedience at Friday nights, Almighty Allah will forgive all of his previous sins. In the same way, whoever challenges Almighty Allah by committing an act of disobedience at such nights, Almighty Allah will punish him for each and every act of disobedience that he did in his whole lifetime and will double up the punishment for him.”
حضرت امام جعفر صادقؑ فرماتے ہیں : شبِ جمعہ میں گناہوں سے بچو کیوں کہ اس رات کئی گنا عذاب بڑھ جاتا ہے جیسا کہ اس شب میں نیکیوں کا ثواب بھی کئی گنا زیادہ ہوتا ہے، اگر کوئی شخص شبِ جمعہ میں گناہ سے پرہیز کرے تو خدا اس کے سابقہ گناہ معاف کر دیتا ہے اور اگر کوئی شخص شبِ جمعہ میں اعلانیہ (کھلم کھلا) گناہ کرے تو خدا اس کو ساری زندگی کے گناہوں کے برابر عذاب دے گااور اس گناہ کا عذاب بھی زیادہ ہوگا۔
It has been authentically narrated on the authority of Imam Ali ibn Musa Reza (a) that the Holy Prophet (s) said, “Verily, Friday is the master of days. On Fridays, Almighty Allah doubles up the rewards (for good deeds), erases, forgivingly, the punishments (for evildoings), raises the ranks (of faith), responds to prayers, relieves from misfortunes, and fulfills the grand requests. Friday is the day of bonus. Almighty Allah, on Fridays, releases numerous individuals from Hellfire. When anyone prays Him on Friday while having already appreciated the actual standing and the sanctity of this day, it will be incumbent upon Almighty Allah to release him/her from Hellfire. If that individual dies on that day or night, he/she will be decided as martyr and will be resurrected (on the Judgment Day) secured. Conversely, if one belittles the sanctity of Friday and disrespects its standings, it will be incumbent upon Almighty Allah to cast him/her into Hellfire unless he/she repents thereafter.”
اور معتبر سند کے ساتھ امام علی رضاؑ سے منقول ہے کہ رسول اللہؐ نے فرمایا : جمعہ کا دن تمام دنوں کاسردار ہے اس میں نیکیوں کاثواب کئی گنا ہوتا ہے اور گناہ معاف ہو جاتے ہیں، درجات بلند، دعائیں قبول، رنج والم زائل اور بڑی بڑی حاجات پوری کر دی جاتی ہیں۔ اس دن خدا تعالیٰ بندوں کے لئے اپنی رحمت میں اضافہ کرتا ہے اور لوگوں کی ایک کثیر تعداد کو جہنم کی آگ سے آزاد کرتا ہے۔ جو شخص اس دن خدا کو پکارے اور وہ اس دن کی عزّت وعظمت کا قائل بھی ہو تو خدا پر اس کا حق ہے کہ وہ اسے جہنم کی آگ سے چھٹکارا عطا کرے۔ اگر کوئی شخص شبِ جمعہ یا روزِ جمعہ میں وفات پا جائے تو وہ شہید شمار ہوگا اور قیامت کے دن عذابِ الہٰی سے محفوظ رہے گا۔ جو آدمی جمعہ کے دن کی عظمت کی پرواہ نہ کرے اور اس کے حق کو ضائع کرے مثلًا نمازِ جمعہ بجانہ لائے یا حرام کاموں سے نہ بچے، خدا کے لئے ضروری ہے کہ وہ اس شخص کو جہنم کا ایندھن بنائے مگر یہ کہ وہ توبہ کر لے۔
Imam Muhammad Baqir (a) is reported, through an authentic chain of authority, to have said, “Sunlight has never risen in a day better than Friday. When birds meet each other on that day, they greet each other with, Peace! Good day!”
معتبر اسناد کے ساتھ امام محمدباقرؑ سے مروی ہے: آفتاب نے کبھی کسی ایسے دن طلوع نہیں کیا جو جمعہ سے بہتر ہو۔ اس روز پرندے جب ایک دوسرے سے ملتے ہیں تو سلام کرتے اور کہتے ہیں : آج بڑا ہی عظیم دن ہے۔
Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a) is authentically reported to have said, “On Fridays, do not engage yourselves in anything other than acts of worship, for the servants’ faults are forgiven and the divine mercy is sent down on Fridays.”
نیز معتبر سند کے ساتھ امام جعفرصادقؑ سے منقول ہے : جو شخص جمعہ کے دن کو درک کرے وہ عبادتِ الہٰی کے علاوہ کچھ نہ کرے کہ اس دن خدا تعالیٰ اپنے بندوں کے گناہ معاف کرتا ہے اور ان پر رحمتِ خداوندی نازل ہوتی ہے۔ حق تو یہ ہے کہ شبِ جمعہ اور روزِ جمعہ کے فضائل کثیر ہیں اور اس مختصر کتاب میں اتنی گنجائش نہیں کہ ان سب کا ذکر کیا جائے۔
