Writing letter to Imam is among the effective means and it has tremendous and surprising effects, because our master as it was narrated is strongly pitiful to his well-wishers. I have personally in several occasions written letter to him (peace be upon him) and I saw a tremendous and surprising effect. Write all that we shall mention and drop it in any of the tombs of the Imams (peace be on them) or you wrap it and cover it with pure soil and drop it there, or you throw it into a river or deep well or into a pond of water, surely it shall reach the leader of the time peace be on him, he shall personally take control of your demands.
کچھ واقعات کو حضرت کے عریضہ کے فوائد کے بارے میں بیان کیا اب یہ بتارہاہوں کہ عریضہ کس طرح لکھیں ایک عبارت کاغذ پر لکھ کر ائمہ معصومین میں سے کسی ایک کی ضریح میں ڈال دیں یہ عریضہ حضرت حجت کی خدمت میں پہنچ جاتاہے اور خود حضرت اس کی حاجت کو پوری کرتے ہیں اور کاغذ پر اس طرح لکھیں۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
کَتَبْتُ اِلَیْكَ یَا مَوْلَایَ صَلَوَاتُ اللہِ عَلَیْکَ مُسْتَغِیْثًا، وَشَکَوْتُ مَا نَزَلَ بِیْ مُسْتَجِیْرًا بِاللہِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ثُمَّ بِکَ مِنْ اَمْرٍ قَدْ دَھَمَنِیْ، وَاَشْغَلَ قَلْبِیْ، وَاَطَالَ فِکْرِیْ، وَسَلَبَنِیْ بَعْضَ لُبِّیْ، وَغَیَّرَ خَطِیْرَ نِعْمَۃِ اللہِ عِنْدِیْ، اَسْلَمَنِیْ عِنْدَ تَخَیُّلِ وُرُوْدِہِ الْخَلِیْلُ، وَتَبَرَّاَ مِنِّیْ عِنْدَ تَرَآئِیْ اِقْبَالِہٖ اِلَیَّ الْحَمِیْمُ، وَعَجَزَتْ عَنْ دِفَاعِہٖ حِیْلَتِیْ، وَخَانَنِیْ فِیْ تَحَمُّلِہٖ صَبْرِیْ وَقُوَّتِیْ۔
فَلَجَأْتُ فِیْہِ اِلَیْکَ، وَتَوَکَّلْتُ فِیْ الْمَسْأَلَۃِ لِلہِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ثَنَاؤُہٗ عَلَیْہِ وَعَلَیْکَ وَفِیْ دِفَاعِہٖ عَنِّیْ، عِلْمًۢا بِمَکَانِکَ مِنَ اللہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ، وَلِیِّ التَّدْبِیْرِ وَمَالِکِ الْاُمُوْرِ، وَاثِقًا بِکَ فِیْ الْمُسَارَعَۃِ فِیْ الشَّفَاعَۃِ اِلَیْہِ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُہٗ فِیْ اَمْرِیْ، مُتَیَقِّنًا لِاِجَابَتِہٖ تَبَارَکَ وَ تَعَالٰی اِیَّاکَ بِاِعْطَائِیْ سُؤْلِیْ۔
وَاَنْتَ یَامَوْلَایَ جَدِیْرٌۢ بِتَحْقِیْقِ ظَنِّیْ وَتَصْدِیْقِ اَمَلِیْ فِیْکَ فِیْ اَمْرٍ کَذَا وَ کَذَا۔۔۔
Katabtu ilayka yaa mawlaaya salawaatu allaahi 'alayka mustagheethan, washakawtu maa nazala bee mustajeeran billaahi 'azza wajalla, thumma bika min amrin qad dahamanee, wa-ashghala qalbee, wa-ataala fikree, wasalabanee ba'da lubbee, waghayyara khateera ni'mati allaahi 'indee, aslamanee 'inda takhayyuli wuroodihi al-khaleelu, watabarra'a minnee 'inda taraa'ee iqbaalihee ilayya al-hameemu, wa'ajazat 'an difaa'ihee heelatee, wakhaananee fee tahammulihee sabree waquwwatee.
Falaja'tu feehi ilayka, watawakkaltu fee al-mas'alati lillaahi 'azza wajalla thanaa'uhoo 'alayhi wa'alayka wafee difaa'ihee 'annee, 'ilman bimakaanika mina allaahi rabbi al-'aalameena, waliyyi at-tadbeeri wamaaliki al-umoori, waathiqan bika fee al-musaara'ati fee ash-shafaa'ati ilayhi jalla thanaa'uhoo fee amree, mutayaqqinan li-ijaabatihee tabaaraka wa ta'aalaa iyyaaka bi-i'taa'ee su'lee.
Wa-anta yaa mawlaaya jadeerun bitahqeeqi zannee watasdeeqi amalee feeka fee amrin kazaa wa kazaa...
I have written to you, O my Master, may the blessings of Allah be upon you, seeking your aid, and I have complained of what has descended upon me, seeking refuge in Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and then through you, regarding an affair that has suddenly beset me, which has occupied my heart, prolonged my thoughts, and robbed me of part of my intellect; and altered the great blessing of Allah upon me; my friend gave me up at the thought of its coming, and my intimate disowned me on seeing it approach me, and my resourcefulness was incapable of its defense, and my patience and my strength failed me in enduring it. So I have turned to you in it, and I have placed my trust in the matter, seeking help from Allah, Mighty and Majestic—His praise be upon Him and upon you—and in its defense on my behalf, knowing your station with Allah, the Lord of the worlds, the Possessor of Governance and the Owner of all affairs, trusting in you to hasten in intercession to Him, Exalted is His praise, regarding my affair, certain of His response, Blessed and Exalted is He, through you, in granting me my request. And you, O my Master, are worthy of fulfilling my good expectation and confirming my hope in you regarding such and such an affair...
میں نے آپ کی خدمت میں لکھا ہے، اے میرے مولا! اللہ کی رحمتیں آپ پر ہوں میں فریاد کرتا ہوا (مدد مانگتا ہوا)۔ اور میں نے اپنے اوپر نازل ہونے والی مصیبت کی شکایت کی ہے، اللہ عزوجل کی پناہ لیتے ہوئے، پھر آپ کے وسیلے سے اُس معاملے میں جو مجھ پر اچانک ٹوٹ پڑا ہے، جس نے میرے دل کو مشغول کر دیا ہے، میری سوچ کو طول دے دیا ہے، اور میری عقل و ہوش کا کچھ حصہ سلب کر لیا ہے۔ اور اللہ کی بڑی نعمت کو میرے لیے بدل دیا ہے۔ اس کے آنے کا خیال آتے ہی دوست (خلیل) بھی مجھے میرے حال پر چھوڑ گیا، اور جب میں نے اس مصیبت کو اپنی طرف بڑھتا دیکھا تو قریبی/جگری دوست (حمیم) بھی مجھ سے بیزار ہو گیا۔ میری کوئی تدبیر اس کے دفاع سے عاجز رہی، اور اسے برداشت کرنے میں میرا صبر اور میری قوت بھی میرا ساتھ نہ دے سکے۔ پس میں اسی معاملے میں آپ کی طرف پناہ لایا ہوں، اور اس مسئلے میں اللہ عزوجل پر توکل کیا ہے اور (پھر) آپ پر بھی اور اس مصیبت کو مجھ سے دور کرنے میں (آپ کے ذریعے اللہ پر بھروسہ کیا ہے)، کیونکہ مجھے معلوم ہے کہ آپ کا مقام اللہ ربّ العالمین کے نزدیک کیا ہے جو تدبیر کا ولی اور تمام امور کا مالک ہے۔ اور میں آپ پر اعتماد رکھتا ہوں کہ آپ میرے معاملے میں اللہ جلّ ثناؤہٗ کی بارگاہ میں شفاعت کے لیے جلدی فرمائیں گے۔ اور مجھے یقین ہے کہ اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ آپ کی (درخواست/شفاعت) کو قبول فرما کر مجھے میرا سوال/مراد عطا کرے گا۔ اور آپ، اے میرے مولا! اس کے اہل ہیں کہ میرے آپ سے حسنِ ظن کو سچ کر دکھائیں اور میرے آپ سے وابستہ امید کو پورا فرمائیں—اس فلاں معاملے میں (کذا و کذا)۔۔۔

فِیْمَا لَا طَاقَۃَ لِیْ بِحَمْلِہٖ، وَلَا صَبْرَ لِیْ عَلَیْہِ، وَاِنْ کُنْتُ مُسْتَحِقًّا لَہٗ وَلِاَضْعَافِہٖ بِقَبِیْحِ اَفْعَالِیْ وَتَفْرِیْطِیْ فِیْ الْوَاجِبَاتِ الَّتِیْ لِلہِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، فَاَغِثْنِیْ یَا مَوْلَایَ صَلَوَاتُ اللہِ عَلَیْکَ عِنْدَ اللَّہْفِ، وَقَدِّمِ الْمَسْاَلَۃَ لِلہِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِیْ اَمْرِیْ، قَبْلَ حُلُوْلِ التَّلَفِ، وَشَمَاتَۃِ الْاَعْدَآئِ، فَبِکَ بُسِطَتِ النِّعْمَۃُ عَلَیَّ۔
وَاَسْاَلُ اللہَ جَلَّ جَلَالُہٗ لِیْ نَصْرًا عَزِیْزًا، وَفَتْحًا قَرِیْبًا، فِیْہِ بُلُوْغُ الْآمَالِ، وَخَیْرُ الْمَبَادِیْ، وَخَوَاتِیْمُ الْاَعْمَالِ، وَالْاَمْنُ مِنَ الْمَخَاوِفِ کُلِّھَا فِیْ کُلِّ حَالٍ، اِنَّہٗ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُہٗ لِمَا یَشَآءُ فَعَّالٌ، وَھُوَ حَسْبِیْ وَنِعْمَ الْوَکِیْلُ فِیْ الْمَبْدَئِ وَالْمَآلِ۔۔۔
مَا شَآءَ اللهُ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّۃَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِیِّ الْعَظِیْمِ۔
Feemaa laa taaqata lee bihamlihee, walaa sabra lee 'alayhi, wa-in kuntu mustahiqqan lahoo wali-ad'aafihee biqabeehi af'aalee watafreetee fee al-waajibaati allatee lillaahi 'azza wajalla, fa-aghithnee yaa mawlaaya salawaatu allaahi 'alayka 'inda al-lahfi, waqaddimi al-mas'alata lillaahi 'azza wajalla fee amree, qabla hulooli at-talafi, washamaatati al-a'daa'i, fabika busitati an-ni'matu 'alayy.
Wa-as'alu allaaha jalla jalaaluhoo lee nasran 'azeezan, wafathan qareeban, feehi bulooghu al-aamaali, wakhayru al-mabaadee, wakhawaateemu al-a'maali, wal-amnu mina al-makhaawifi kullihaa fee kulli haalin, innahoo jalla thanaa'uhoo limaa yashaa'u fa''aalun, wahuwa hasbee wani'ma al-wakeelu fee al-mabda'i wal-maal...
Maa shaa'a allaahu laa hawla walaa quwwata illaa billaahi al-'aliyyi al-'azeem.
in that which I have no strength to bear and no patience to endure, even though I deserve it, and many times more, for my ugly deeds and my neglect of the duties owed to Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So come to my aid, O my master, Allah's blessings be upon you, in my distress, and present the request to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, concerning my affair, before ruin befalls me and my enemies gloat, for through you blessing has been spread over me. And I ask Allah, Majestic is His majesty, for a mighty victory and a near triumph for me, in which are the attainment of hopes, the best of beginnings and the seals of deeds, and safety from all fears in every state; surely He, glorified be His praise, does whatever He wills, and He is sufficient for me, and an excellent Guardian, in the beginning and the end. What Allah wills (comes to be); there is no power and no strength except with Allah, the High, the Great.
(میں اس مصیبت میں مبتلا ہوں) جسے اٹھانے کی مجھ میں طاقت نہیں، اور نہ اس پر صبر کرنے کی مجھ میں تاب ہے۔ اگرچہ میں اپنے برے اعمال اور اللہ عزوجل کے واجبات میں کوتاہی کی وجہ سے اس (آزمائش) کا مستحق ہوں بلکہ اس سے بھی بڑھ کر کا مستحق ہوں تب بھی اے میرے مولا! اللہ کی رحمتیں آپ پر ہوں، اس فریاد کے وقت میری فریاد رسی فرمائیے۔ اور اللہ عزوجل کی بارگاہ میں میرے معاملے کی درخواست/عرضِ حاجت پیش کیجیے، اس سے پہلے کہ ہلاکت آ پہنچے اور دشمن طعنے دیں (اور خوش ہوں)۔ کیونکہ آپ ہی کے ذریعے مجھ پر نعمت پھیلی ہے/نعمتیں عطا ہوئی ہیں۔ اور میں اللہ جلّ جلالہٗ سے سوال کرتا/کرتی ہوں کہ وہ مجھے عزت والی نصرت اور قریب کی فتح عطا فرمائے ایسی فتح جس میں امیدوں کا پورا ہونا، بہترین آغاز، اعمال کا اچھا انجام، اور ہر حال میں ہر طرح کے خوف سے امن حاصل ہو۔ بے شک وہ جلّ ثناؤہٗ جو چاہے کرنے والا ہے، اور وہی میرے لیے کافی ہے اور بہترین کارساز/وکیل ہے ابتدا میں بھی اور انجام میں بھی۔ جو اللہ چاہے (وہی ہوتا ہے)؛ اور بلند و عظیم اللہ کے سوا نہ کوئی طاقت ہے نہ کوئی قوت۔
Then you intend going to the river or any deep valley and rely on some of the doors, like the door of Uthman son of Sa'id Al-Amri, or the door of his son, Muhammad bin Uthman, or Al-Husain bin Ruh or Ali bin Muhammad As-Samari. Those are the doors of Imam Al-Mahdi (a) you mention one of them when intending throwing the letter and say the following.
یا اس نوشتہ کو تہہ کر کے پاک مٹی کو گیلا کردیں اس عریضہ کو گیلی مٹی کے درمیان رکھ کر اس کو نہر میں یا چشمہ میں یا گہرے کنواں میں ڈال دیں اس کے بعد نہر یا چشمہ پر آئے اور حضرت حجت کے نائبوں میں سے ایک عثمان بن سعید عمری محمد بن عثمان حسین بن روح علی بن محمد سمری سے خطاب کرے اور کہیں۔

عریضہ کو پانی میں ڈالتے وقت امام زمانہ (عج) کے تیسرے نائب کو خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہے۔۔۔
یَاحُسَیْنَ بْنَ رَوْحٍ سَلَامٌ عَلَیْكَ، اَشْهَدُ اَنَّ وَفَاتَكَ فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللهِ وَاَنَّكَ حَیٌّ عِنْدَ اللهِ مَرْزُوْقٌ وَقَدْ خَاطَبْتُكَ فِیْ حَیَاتِكَ الَّتِیْ لَكَ عِنْدَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَ هٰذِهٖ رُقْعَتِیْ وَحَاجَتِیْ اِلٰی مَوْلَانَا صَاحِبِ الْاَمْرِ عَلَیْهِ السَّلَامُ فَسَلِّمْهَا اِلَیْهِ فَاَنْتَ الثِّقَۃُ الْاَمِیْنُ۔
Yaa husayna ibna rawhin salaamun 'alayka, ashhadu anna wafaataka fee sabeeli allaahi wa-annaka hayyun 'inda allaahi marzooqun waqad khaatabtuka fee hayaatika allatee laka 'inda allaahi 'azza wajalla wa haazihee ruq'atee wahaajatee ilaa mawlaanaa saahibi al-amri 'alayhi as-salaamu fasallimhaa ilayhi fa-anta ath-thiqatu al-ameen.
O Husain bin Rawh, Salamun Alayka. I bear witness that you died in the path of Allah and (hence), you are alive and are sustained by Allah. I’m addressing you in your life which you lead with Allah this is my note and wishes to the master of the Era, the 12th Imam (a.s), so please hand it over to him for you are indeed trustworthy.
اے حسین بن روح! آپ پر سلام ہو۔ میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ آپ کی وفات اللہ کی راہ میں ہوئی، اور یہ کہ آپ اللہ کے نزدیک زندہ ہیں اور آپ کو رزق دیا جاتا ہے۔ اور میں نے آپ کو اسی زندگی کی حالت میں مخاطب کیا ہے جو آپ کو اللہ عزوجل کے ہاں حاصل ہے۔ یہ میری چٹھی (عرضی) اور میری حاجت ہے، جو ہمارے مولا صاحبُ الامر (امامِ زمانہؑ) کی خدمت میں ہے۔ پس آپ یہ (عرضی) انہیں پہنچا دیجیے، کیونکہ آپ قابلِ اعتماد اور امانت دار ہیں۔
Then you throw it into a river or a deep well or pond, your request will be granted by Allah’s wishes.
اس کے بعد عریضہ کو نہر یا کنواں یا چشمہ میں ڈالیں انشاء اللہ اس کی حاجت قبول ہوگی مرحوم علامہ مجلسی نے فرمایا ہے کہ عریضہ کو ڈالتے وقت اس طرح خیال کرے کہ اس خط کو نائب خاص کے سپرد کرتاہے محدث نوری کہتاہے اس خبر سے استفادہ ہوتاہے کہ چار نائب بزرگوار جس طرح غیبت صغری کے زمانے میں لوگوں اور حضرت حجت کے درمیان حوائج عریضے جواب لینے اور توقیعات پہنچانے میں واسطہ تھے اسی طرح غیبت کبریٰ میں یہی فریضہ انجام دیتے تھے اور بہت بڑے منصب پر فائز تھے واضح ہے کہ آخری حجت کا فضل و کرم اور حضرت کی نعمتیں تمام کو شامل ہیں۔
