Invocation: Graveyard
درود قبرستان
An invocation for the graveyard, and it is salawat from beginning to end.
What makes it distinctive is how completely it divides what it blesses. Blessings are asked upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as long as prayers endure, as long as blessings endure, as long as mercy endures — and then upon their spirit among the spirits, their body among bodies, their grave among the graves, their form among forms, their turbah in the earth, and their light among lights.
The grave is named alongside all the rest, which is what makes it the supplication for this place.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰہُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ مَادَامَتِ الصَّلَوَاتِ، وَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ مَادَامَتِ الْبَرَکَاتِ، وَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ مَادَامَتِ الرَّحْمَۃِ۔ اَللّٰہُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی رُوْحِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْاَرْوَاحِ، وَصَلِّ عَلٰی جَسَدِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْاَجْسَادِ، وَصَلِّ عَلٰی قَبْرِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْقُبُوْرِ، وَصَلِّ عَلٰی صُوْرَۃِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍِفِی الصُّوَرِ، وَصَلِّ عَلٰی تُرْبَۃِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی التُّرَابِ، وَصَلِّ عَلٰی نُوْرِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِیْ الْاَنْوَارِ، بِرَحْمَتِکَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ۔
Allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin maadaa-matis salawaate, wa salle a’laa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin maadaa-matil bara-kaate, wa salle a’laa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin maadaa-matir rahmate.
Allaahumma salle a’laa roohe mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin fil arwaa-he, wa salle a’laa jasade mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin fil aj-saade, wa salle a’laa qabre mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin fil qoboo-re, wa salle a’laa soora-te mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin fis sowa-re, wa salle a’laa turba-te mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin fit turaa-be, wa salle a’laa noore mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin fil an-waare, be-rahmate-ka yaa ar-hamar raahe-meen.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as long as prayers endure; and send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as long as blessings endure; and send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as long as mercy endures. O Allah, send blessings upon the spirit of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad among the spirits; and send blessings upon the body of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad among bodies; and send blessings upon the grave of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad among the graves; and send blessings upon the form of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad among forms; and send blessings upon the soil (turbah) of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad in the earth; and send blessings upon the light of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad among lights by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
اے اللہ! درود بھیج محمدؐ اور آل محمدؑ پر اور ہمیشہ درود ہو، اور درود بھیج محمدؐ اور آل محمدؑ پر اور ہمیشہ برکات نازل ہو، اور درود بھیج محمدؐ اور آل محمدؑ پر اور ہمیشہ رحمت نازل ہو، اے اللہ! درود بھیج روح محمدؐ پر اور آل محمدؑ کی ارواح پر، اور درود بھیج جسم محمدؐ پر اور آل محمدؑ کے جسموں پر، اور درود بھیج قبر محمدؐ پر اور آل محمدؑ کی قبروں پر، اور درود بھیج صورت محمدؐ پر اور آل محمدؑ کی صورتوں پر، اور درود بھیج تربت محمدؐ پر اور آل محمدؑ کی تربتوں پر، اور درود بھیج نور محمدؐ پر اور آل محمدؑ کے انوار پر، رحمتیں نازل فرما اے رحم کرنے والوں میں سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
